Planned Parenthood - Pembroke Pines Health Center

On January 19, 2024, I had the IUD inserted under the low-income project. It cost me $180 for the device, and I didnt need any exams or ultrasounds, just a pregnancy test. The insertion was smooth, and the doctor said I could come back if needed. On April 11, 2024, I scheduled a follow-up appointment because I had been bleeding, experiencing pain, and swelling for three months. When I arrived, I explained I was there for a follow-up due to feeling unwell. I was informed it would cost approximately $170 for the consultation. I explained my situation and was advised to speak with the doctor. During the consultation, I described my symptoms and was told to wait until six months, with ibuprofen recommended in the meantime. Blood tests or ultrasounds were suggested but would be at an additional cost. I expressed discomfort and a desire to remove the device, which would cost $125, but the earliest available appointment was the next day. Eventually, I had the IUD removed elsewhere as I didnt feel supported or understood, and the subsequent payments were not affordable given my low income. Since removal, Ive stopped bleeding, experiencing pain, and I feel 100%, indicating the IUD was causing issues.

My experience at Planned Parenthood in Pembroke Pines was quite literally the best. The whole staff was more than kind and helpful. I feel as if it’s very important with these types of places to feel super comfortable and safe, that is exactly what I felt while visiting this office. Thank you guys so so so much for a great experience and for all others looking to stop by.. DO IT! THEY ARE AMAZING!!

I dont know. The front desk was nice and welcoming. But the nurse was very impersonal and didnt seem to care. Which is fine, whatever. However, other people Ive gone to for issues of this nature would at least crack a joke. I felt so uncomfortable, and my NP was so cold. Her accent was hard to understand, and I felt like I couldnt talk at all or explain my symptoms. I walked in happy, but I walked out with my day ruined. The second star is only for the receptionist

I needed a routine Pap smear and they were able to squeeze me in quickly. The whole visit was easy and painless. The NP I saw was great. Payment was straightforward. Not sure what these negative reviews are about. I’m a PA myself, so I know what to look out for in terms of poor care and my visit was seamless.

Everyone was super nice and super respectful and even tho I was just getting a yearly exam the nurses and doctor all made me feel so safe.

I’m shocked at the negative responses Ive seen. I had a wonderful and easy experience at PP-Pembroke Pines. I had a 7pm appointment that I called to confirm and they were able to get me in earlier due to a cancellation. The front staff was extremely kind and helpful. I was taken back a few minutes earlier than my appointment, and was in and out in less than 20 minutes with the prescription I needed. I would 100% recommend his clinic for any of your needs.

Some of the reviews online made me nervous, but I was PLEASANTLY surprised by my visit. Everyone (from the front desk to the nurse practitioner) was delightful! I came because I lost my medical insurance due to a job change, so I couldn’t afford my OBGYN’s rates. I was anxious since I have only ever been to my provider, but the staff was so kind and professional from the moment I walked in. And Nayeema (the ARNP) was efficient and thorough, and as she did my exam; she often asked if I was ok and checked on how comfortable I was feeling. The cost was reasonable out of pocket, and I am thankful they are a resource in the community.

The kind and attentive staff makes you feel like you’re in good hands.Making an appointment was straightforward through the +1-800-230-PLAN number, and I was impressed (and saddened) by how much care they took to make sure prospective patients could be contacted safely.Short wait times — I got several exams done and the transition from one to the other was efficient, though face-to-face time was calm and unhurried. Some people on here have complained of long waits, and though I didn’t have that experience, this is a lovely office with a small staff, so some waiting is reasonable. My overall impression when leaving was that they show that they care.

Just got off the phone with one of the nurses, they were very friendly and were very open to answering all the questions I had for her. Made me feel much better about my situation. Thank you!

I had an excellent experience at this location. They called me on my cell when it was time to come in (due to Covid). The wait was not long at all and the entire staff was a pleasure to be around from the front desk to the techs and nurses. My appointment was quick, efficient, and discussed with me in great detail. Dr. Stumbar was amazing as well. Thank you to the entire staff :)

I’ve been to 3 locations . Love the other 2 . But this one is different in every way . I’m not bashing employees but maybe they’re process . Both times I was waiting an hour after my appointment to be seen . Keep in mind I showed up 5-10 mins early . Ask me questions I’ve already answered on the app prior to the appointment and I purposely do that so I’m not here long . While checking in tell the lobby and I my outstanding balance where other locations do that privately . But hey. And a women that came 20 mins after me was still seen and left before me . So after an hour of waiting I left . Other location I’m in and out within 30 mins . And since this was the second time I’m extremely disappointed especially because I’ve waited for this appointment

I just moved to Florida and was looking for a specialist but unfortunately due to appts being booked out til December, I had to get an appt at this location. If I could give this place a negative 10 I would. The nursing assistant gives false health information. She literally told me it’s bad to shower after intercourse and tons of other inaccurate information.Wow. I can’t imagine what she’s told other patients. If you’re young and don’t have insurance please pick a different location. I have medical insurance and am absolutely appalled with this place and staff. A waste of time and a major disappointment.

Ive been a paitent of Planned Parenthood for nearly ten years, and have been to plenty of different facilities throughout many different states... and I have to say by far the best one Ive ever had the pleasure of returning to is this location in Pembroke Pines Florida.The staff are excellent 👌 Always friendly, welcoming and quick to offer assistance whenever needed.The APRNs and nurses have wonderful bed side manner 😊 Ive never felt uncomfortable and have always been treated with respect. Even during a routine  scheduled appointment on July 23 2021,  while dealing with a mTBI from a week before, I was still suffering the major side effects that come with a concussion. My normal blood draw turned south as I began to feel dizzy and extremely light headed. The nurse jumped in quickly to assist and honestly, without all their help to cool and rehydrate me, Im sure I would had to have a hospital visit that day! As embarrassed as I was to have caused such a scene, I was tremendously thankful and so humble for all their help and nourishment to get me back on my feet and feeling better! That experience along with my routine visits have been nothing but positive and pleasant!Planned Parenthood is a wonderful choice for Healthcare, especially for us LGBT folks and Ill always been so thankful for their existence, just as I am for this location! All of the staff ARE AMAZING and I thank you for all your continuous hard work to keep all of us healthy and confident!! ⭐️🏆❤-Julian OConnor

So upset!!! I made an appointment for a pregnancy test. I show up about 10 min early to find a closed sign on the front door. I am standing outside with other people who also had appointments and none of us were contacted to let us know that this particular location had closed early for the day. They location opens at 12:00 noon and my appointment was set for 12:40. When I called to see what was wrong the woman on the phone told me the location let the call center know at 8am that morning that they had to close for the door. But myself and others (which were waiting outside with me) were not notified. This is really frustrating especially when someone is in desperate straights and needs to know if they are pregnant or not. So disappointed because I thought planned parenthood was suppose to help people. But I just felt jerked around.

If I could give 0 stars I would. Made a telehealth appointment for birth control prescription at 6pm and waited for almost 30 minutes to speak with someone. Had to wait even more after that to see the doctor. I spent almost a whole hour waiting for what was less than 5 minutes speaking with the doctor. My medication was never sent to the pharmacy and I cannot reach the clinic. I’ve called the location multiple times every day since my appointment (1 week ago) and cannot get a response. I left my number and explained my situation and still have not gotten a call back. I even left a message in the MyChart patient portal and no response there either. At this point I’m going to have to go somewhere else and spend more time and money for my medication.

This place has been great. The receptionist is sweet, the doctor as well. I did a Pap Smear test, HIV test, Gonorrhea test, Chlamedia test, HPV test, Syphilis Test and they also checked if I had breast cancer etc... All results came to a negative on their website where you can sign in and check for your results and dont have to wait for no calls from them to tell you your results. Most results Ive received really quick, Id say in less than 1 week. And some within a minute. Thank you. Happy new year. I think those awful reviews are perhaps from other places that compete with this company and try to bash it. So, have me as proof that this place is good. 1-1-2022

I’ve been coming here for the past 5 years and ,almost, always feel very well taken care of. I don’t remember the doctors name but she cared more about me smoking cigarettes than about my birth control prescription. I only dealt with her once, thank g*d, but I felt terrible about myself after seeing her. And actually cried when I got in my car. She was very cold and condescending towards me. Why am I giving four stars then? Because Dr. Sultana is absolutely AMAZING. She’s the Doctor I usually see when I come here and every time I see her I feel as though she actually really cares about me. After my last annual exam when it came up as low-grade SIL she was very concerned and wanted me to come again in 3 months. When it came back as normal she told me how relieved she was that everything was O.K. The wait times can be a bit long some days; but usually they’re pretty good. When they stopped doing birth control appointments on Saturdays, instead of being called (made an appointment online) and told they couldn’t do it that day I was told when I got there.

Ive visited the clinic once for HRT as a transmasculine person. The doctors were very nice and attentive when I was there and the process of starting testosterone gel was easy, but I have had issues contacting them when I have questions ever since. The first prescription I was told was going to be a 3 month supply to last until my follow-up visit, but it ran out after just a month. Not sure if the issue was with the clinic when the prescription was written or the pharmacy when they filled it, but regardless it took several calls just get ahold of anyone at the clinic to refill the prescription. Seems no matter what time of day you call, they are experiencing very high call volume and you have to sit on hold for 20+ minutes after using the menu option to book appointments, because the menu option for prescriptions just plays hold music for 30 seconds before telling you to leave a message and then kicks you off the call. Now I am having to refill the prescription again because it once again ran out before my followup. I called two days ago and they told me they put in a request to have it refilled and that I would hear back within 24 hours about its status, but I received no such call yesterday and now they are closed today so I cannot do anything. I am going out of town tomorrow and have already missed 3 doses of my medication and am experiencing negative side effects due to these missed doses, and it looks like I will be going the rest of the weekend without resolution. I like the doctors that I met and in-person clinic visits are pleasant, but I am extremely displeased with this clinics poor communication over the phone, especially regarding patient prescriptions and medication. I should not have to sit on hold for hours and call back over and over just to have my prescription looked at.EDIT: I have changed my review to one-star because it has now been over a week and I have called about this issue three more times and STILL no one has any answers for me and and I do not have my medication. I even called the Boca Raton clinic to beg them for help just to find out whats going on and they were unable to do anything other than tell me that my request for a refill has NOT EVEN BEEN LOOKED AT. When I tried to call this clinic the next day I got the same woman who answered me when I called Boca, so the calls are not even going to the clinics but instead must be going to some sort of external call center. It is absolutely unacceptable that patients prescriptions are being so terribly neglected and that on top of it I cannot even get ahold of anybody who will just tell me WHY no one has even looked at my request yet. What if my prescription was something I needed to SURVIVE? I have been having terrible side effects from not being able to take my hormones including extreme mood instability, depression, and constant hot flashes, but these people do not care. I wish I had another option for HRT aside from waiting months or years to get a diagnosis and letter from a therapist because this place has dropped the ball so badly I would NOT trust them with my healthcare if I had any other choice. If you have any other choice do not go to Planned Parenthood for HRT. This is ridiculous.

Doctors do not care about patients. I called twice for urgent medicine concerns (MTF-HRT). The doctor never called back and checked on me despite me blowing up the office and her cellphone number. The office staff when spoken with on the phone are rude and rushed me off the phone. Young lady doesn’t know my appointments even though it states them on the computer. Not very professional or cognizant of basic heath needs, training, and/or communication. I do not know if it’s because I’m a Black queer individual but I’d never go here again. Sad because Planned Parenthood offers great services for the community. Need better and proper training in order for this location to sustain.

Nice not to have to drive all the way to golden glades for hrt anymore. Staff is really kind and professional as well. Always a little bit of a wait but its never been too bad.EDIT: The walls are thin and I could hear staff members repeatedly misgendering me in the adjacent room, absolutely disgusting. Also god forbid they mess up your prescription because you will not be able to get ahold of them to fix it. They sent my pharmacy a prescription for intramuscular injection with needles for subcutaneous injection. Now my shot is multiple days late and Ive heard nothing from them.

This clinic doesn’t care about their trans community. My testosterone medication is always being denied. I have to call everyday to get my meds. Plus appts take forever for no reason. Now I’m out of testosterone and I’m just waiting to hear back from them. This is the worst experience ever. If you care about your mental do not go here. You will be waiting forever to hear back from someone. I call multiple time to get no answer. They cancel appointments. I miss days for work to come to the office and they are closed, but they made the appointment. I’m out of testosterone and I’m having issues getting more.

So I want to make my review as honest as possible. The doctor who I saw was kind and I had no problems with the staff although calling and receiving calls back wasnt timely it wasnt the worst either. I came for birth control and paid out of pocket for my visit and the pills. I explained to her it would be my first time on birth control. I told the doctor i was worried about the side effects and she told me there really wouldnt be anything serious. The medication I was prescribed was called Femynor. It made me miserable, constantly extremely nauseous and depressed. I didnt want to get out of bed to do anything and couldnt hold down food or even water at times. I was told it would get better the longer I took it and it just got worse to were I had to take two pills from not being able to hold the first one down. It really negatively affected my mood. I dont have health insurance and they wanted me to pay out of pocket again for another visit to take another pill. I feel at the very least she could have offered a discount being as what she prescribed me was horrible. I couldnt feel that way anymore so I just decided to stop taking the meds.

Came for a routine pap. The staff was professional and the nurses communicated well and made sure that I was as comfortable as one can be when getting the procedure done.

Had a wonderful experience, went to get my first implant and the staff members very helpful and made me feel less nervous ☺️ the procedure was painless and went smoothly

Let me get this clear to some of you ladies. There are a lot of women who come into planned parenthood. And from what i saw they had a small staff. So you have to know ahead of time that a little waiting is involved. I originally came in and was out in maybe 2 hours or so. They worked with me on prices and helped me and my family come to a price that was comfortable. Please dont perpetuate hate on this lovely little clinic. They are extremely caring and understanding and they definitely helped me in my time of need.

Unprofessional staff. Male doesnt know any prices or have any clue of whats going on in establishment. Female not only has a glitter sign on her name tag that says I dont know I just work here wow! While Im talking to the guy and hes shooting off random prices she is literally rolling her eyes because I want to know a definite price. Ridiculous to have this type of treatment in Pembroke Pines

Today I don’t like the way I get treated by the front desk the we’re very rude. Normally they have nice front desk agent but today was not my lucky day I get so nervous

Terrible service. Had an appointment in October and wasnt even seen until 2.5-3 hours later. Was told to try another birth control since they were out of the one I used and that if I didnt like it they would switch me to my old brand. When I called to switch o my old one they claimed that I had to have an appointment to be seen to have it switched. Long story short worst medical office Ive been to. No professionalism at all. Dont reccomend at all, and when you call you arent even calling the office directly, its a service center.

I went in the office for a simple test. While there, I felt dizzy. The nurses and the doctor caame in to help quickly. My bp was awfully high. They gave me a referal to the er. Everyone was so concerned and nice. The morning after, one of the nurses called to check on me.I gave them 5 stars because they were courteous, patient, helpful, thorough and compassionate. They have really great people working there.

Ok so these women MUST LOVE THEIR JOB! Bc they were SUPER SWEET AND NICE! Thank God because the other places I called WERE MEAN AND RUDE! I told the lady to keep being sweet! When women are going through such a stuff situation and making such a tough decision like this it’s important to treat them with respect and this clinic does just that!

Very wonderful place! My doctor and nurses were super nice and very professional. I felt very safe going in for my first ever birth control implant.

This place is awful. Its so slow and it doesnt matter if you have an appointment any person that is there before you will go before you even if youre on time for your appointment. We got here at 145pm for our appointment and did not get seen til 245pm. An hour after our appointment just because there were 4 walk ins before us. This place is closed until 130pm on Wednesdays so I know those 4 people didnt have appointments before us. Such slow service, if youre going to come over I would advise you to bring something to read or do for the next hour.

I’m so disappointed about the service. I made my telephone appointment about a month ago and then today was my appointment day at 1:30pm. They did sent me an email to remind but never send me any other email to link or what I have to do before my appointment. I wait until 2pm was nothing happen, no one call me, no email. I try to call back so many times but always busy I left my phone number and got no call. It’s awful service

I am so beyond frustrated at this point, my appointment I made for today Friday 04/30/2021. They said they cant have me come because they are under staffed, I have been rescheduled more then once already with Planned Parenthood. I am upset.

The staff is super sweet and helpful. They respect the patients listen and make sure the problem is solved before you leave. They are very helpful and discrete if needed. Would reccommend for any age an any issue.

Ive visited many Planned Parenthood accross USA and this location hands down have the nicest people. Everyone was so polite and warm. Keep up the good work.

Well the online customer service is great but sometimes the office personnel is really rude I really think they need to be more open with clients and welcome patients the office front desk always have serious faces like doesnt make the clients to feel comfortable at all.

Theyve really done a 180. Amazing nurses, customer service and a lovely Doctor. Lady care isnt fun, but these ladies made me feel completely at ease.

I was trying to make an appt after calling 3 different times over an hour each time . Then when i got a call back i expressed my concern over the negative reviews and the representative responded with “thank you “ . No thank you i will take my business elsewhere.

This is the only planned parenthood that I have a problem with. You get to your apartment and they cancel it for no reason. Then they make a new one for you and cancel it. Dislike this place soo much.

The worst , had a 1:10pm appointmentCame at 12:55 so I could fill out paperwork, was told I had to wait until 1:10pm until the ppl came back . Mind you I was THE ONLY ONE THERE!!!!Long story short I left at 1:40pm without. Being seen!!!! livid

I asked the receptionist for a pregnancy test, she told me a price, then another one came and told me another price, exaggerated prices, and with a very bad attention.

Tried calling 3 days in a row and could not get an answer. Finally came in as a walk in and waited 1 hour and 15min before I was even checked in and then continued to wait another 45min for my shot, which only takes 5min. I have been coming here for awhile and it seems everyone I come I wait more and more. Its rediculous
