Southwest Urgent Care & Family Practice

This is our go to for medical evaluation after hours or when getting into our regular doctor is not timely. Everyone is always nice and helpful. Sometimes they would say they dont take our insurance but when I would tell them that they had taken it before then they would take it. Im not sure why. They have always been thorough in evaluation and they rarely have a wait longer than about 20 minutes from our experience.

Said I was fine despite the fact I had told him I had a cold 2 days prior and my throat was burning, didn’t even tell me I had a soar throat or offer advice, he just said your fine you can leave. Having to go to another pharmacy tomorrow hopefully I’ll get better advice. Super weird honestly felt like a waste of 35$ (with insurance thankfully). The lady at the front desk was really nice can’t say the same for the nurse, the doctor was okay just seemed busy, felt overlooked. The biggest red flag, the nurse when taking a swab to my throat for my strep throat test, unwrapped the swab took the saliva sample and didn’t put it in a container or anything just walked out with it allowing for contamination.Update: Went to CVS actually got advice on how to fix it, instead of just pushed out and disregarded.

My husband and me have visited Dr Shaik for past 8 years, no waiting time and front desk are all attentive plus the doctor. He make sure our needs are met and we haven’t had any complaints about it.

Very irritating, keep trying to charge me for a bill in January 2023 when the VA told them to bill them directly (triwest) then they called and sold my info to collections when they can just get the money from the VA . They are sick people . Trying to ruin a disabled veteran credit who wasn’t supposed to pay from the beginning. These are the people we fought for in this country

Very bad atention, nurse said no fever and my son couldnt be more hot or more red because of fever, make some tests (negative) and it took them 5 min to do it, said to give him tylenol and ibuprofen when I came because I have been doing this and it didnt worked, they are bad

Waste of money. Doctor didnt even consult us. We waste $100 as we were 2 patients. Also very long waiting time. If Doctor dont have time then why are they taking walking patients just to make money. Also Doctor buys talking to other patients and didnt even bother to consult. Before paying and waiting for long time I asked that if Doctor Jishan is available then we paid and sitting for long time. And the joke is he didnt even come to our room to consult.Please dont go. Waste of time and money.

Deleting reviews? Take accountability, our cat was taken and euthanized for a bite that only got infected because the person didn’t take care of themselves properly. No need to call animal control, they forcefully took our cat and even though they said he would be returned he was killed the next day. Terrible clinic in a run down strip.

Dr. Shaikh was very polite, understanding, and clear with his treatment plan. Front staff was efficient too. Wait time wasn’t too long either and the office was maintained properly.

Been attending Southwest Urgent Care for 4 years now and I must say that the doctors and staff here are the best. Doctor Z is very excellent and cares for his patients. I give this place 5 stars and if I could give more, I would.

I had a great experience here, probably the best I’ve ever had at an urgent care. I had to come for a really bad ear infection after my usual doctors office really failed me and I spent the entire weekend in pain. Dr. Sheikh was very nice and prescribed me meds based on my condition not getting better. He looked in my ear and right away told me he couldn’t see whether it was ruptured bc of how bad the drainage was, which my previous doctor tried to lie about. He was honest and I trusted him to tell me what was really going on, and he didn’t try to gaslight me at all. The staff is friendly when you are patient, they also let you email them your insurance card which is very convenient when you don’t have the physical card. They are a very busy urgent care but they will tell you honest wait times. The receptionist told me 30 minutes and I was in in less than that. My nurse was super sweet and I wasn’t mad she had to run out, she explained they were short staffed that day and she was helping out. Overall I loved the transparency and quickness, I have never had this easy of an experience with urgent care!

The doctor is kind and front desk staff treated me with good customer service. They accept walk-in but the waiting time depends on the numbers of patients at the time you visit. I recommend if you need urgent care especially the weekend.

Southwest Urgent Care is a solid medical office. The staff is organized and friendly. The Doctor I saw was outstanding, explained everything and a good plan of care. Thank you to everyone who assisted today.

Dont even bother going in to this urgent clinic, unless you want waste your money and time. They dont have any sympathy for the patients and they dont know how to communicate with the patient. They just focus on how much money they are going to charge you.

The doctor is great and understanding i been coming here many times with my health issues and now i feel fine thanks to the doctor.

I have been seeing Dr. Shaikh for more than a year now at this facility. The location is very convenient since its open seven days a week. and the service is fast. Dr. Shaikh is an excellent physician. He is very attentive, caring, and explains very well. He is very patient oriented and never rushes you. Finding a good doctor who cares a lot about his patients is very hard to find. The staff is always welcoming and friendly. I would recommend Dr. Shaikh and Southwest Urgent Care to everyone I know.

Dr Shaikh and his staff are very professional, caring, and knowledgeable. The facilities are clean and the wait was short. He listened and correctly diagnosed and performed the procedure. His prices are affordable. I would recommend him to my family and will use this office again.

This is the best health outfit Ive come across in the whole of Houston. Their treatment is superlative, attention excellent. The staff members are friendly and service-oriented. The Doctor, particularly, is exceptional, paying great attention to details, with human feeling and and great friendliness. Even when you are sick and you get there, the Doctors jovial mien will make the sickness vanish even before treatment. All my family members and friends are very satisfied with the Doctor and staff.

Pro: I love this place. The doctors listen. Very thorough service. The wait time is short. Con: Grab bars are needed on the walls near the xray table. If cellphone are not allowed to be used in exam rooms what should one do while waiting? They arent magazines to view. The medical staff/cna/nurse/medical assistant should not tell the patient what tests/labs the doctor will or wont order. Its not their job to say such a thing. Only the doctor can decide this. Overall consistent good experience. Ive come here many times.

Dr. Zeeshan Sheikh and his staff are exceptional

Poor customer service the girl who answer the phone today is very rude and unprofessional she can’t handle normal questions. I went for my mom continued her medicine and they run her the blood test to see what medicine you need and how much she should take. After few minutes later they call us from pharmacy say we has to pick up medication. So we call back to ask why they run the blood test if it doesn’t matter to get medication or not. I mean if you run the test the medication should came from what the results if not no point to run the blood test right? I always went there the doctor is nice mostly time the front people are also professional but the front desk today really answer the phone bad she say you don’t need the results you can go get medication cus doctor know what they doing!! It not something she should explain she can do better and should has at least some respect!

Dr Zee is my family doctor. He is an amazing Doctor very knowledgable and caring. He treated me for a troubling wrist a year ago and I havent had any pain since than. Wait time is not bad at all, the staff is super friendly I travel all the way from Beaumont to visit him.

The staff and the dr are so nice and helpful here. I am really sick, and they let me walk-in and saw me right away. The dr checked me and took the time to explain everything. The nurse gave me a shot but she was very gentle. The price was very good too.

They deserve 0 stars...They were kind over the phone and rude in person. No treatment recommendation, no common decency. A horrible staff all the way around! I I cant get answers from anyone there except information on another person. I called for my MRI results because they still hadnt called me (after a week). I was asked to hold, when the lady picked the line up she didnt even ask who I was and just started telling me all kinds of confidential information that was meant for another patient. I had to interrupt her several times to explain she wasnt speaking to the right patient. They are rude, unprofessional and clearly do not care about HIPPA. Please spend your money else where if you want any kind of quality care or confidentiality for your medical records., these people are a joke and a sad excuse for medical professionals. GO ANYWHERE BUT HERE!!!!

I’m surprised they haven’t been shut down for negligence. They know so and even had a no return money policy on the front window for unsatisfactory practices. Went there for a spider bite that was getting infected. Waited two hours to finally see not a “doctor actually a nurse”. Saw me for less than 3 minutes, prescribed be antibiotics and left. I gave them my pharmacy information and waited 3 for the pharmacy to call back. After 3 hours of pain called the pharmacy to tell me that they never sent a prescription. Called back the clinic 5 minutes before closing and didn’t respond. I left a voice mail that never got answered. Called back the next morning and told them about the issue. They said the manager was on vacation and that would call me back to apologize. They refused a refund for $70 and never sent the prescription or called me back. This place causes more harm than damage and should be investigated for negligence.

Dr. Arvic and the whole team from this office are beyond awesome!!! Very professional and caring. I live far but I make my hour drive to this facility, knowing my questions will be answered and I will be taking care of. Dr. Arvic will make you feel comfortable, calm and relax. I am bless to have found this Urgent care. I am grateful and appreciate them.

Real nice people. I recently went their to get my biopsy done. And their team turned that painful experience into something good. Convenient hours with convenient location, and really professional PLUS gentle people. This combination is getting rare now a days. They care about you and your health and dont just treat you like an ATM card.

Ive been coming to Doctor Z for about 3-ish years now. Sometimes the patient area is full and the wait is long, sometimes it isnt. Sometimes he has time to spend with me, sometimes he doesnt. Sometimes hes friendly and chatty, sometimes he is obviously rushed and exhausted. Sometimes his advice is helpful and sometimes its not.So just like the rest of us with good days and bad days. Why do I keep coming here? Why do I rate it 5 stars? He did one thing pretty much no other doctor did for me. When I talk about whatever is making me feel ill or making me hurt - he listens to me. He trusts me that Im being as forthcoming and honest as I can be in relating the issue to him.When I was between jobs and insurance - he worked with me and my very limited budget to ensure I could afford to get the medications I needed. He would work me sometimes when I couldnt afford to pay for every visit. When my insurance changed and he wasnt under it, he did some kind of paperwork to make sure he was on it so I could still use him.Does he do this with all his patients? probably not. You have have to commit to him, reasonably doing what he believes you need to for your treatment methodology, be honest, etc. You commit to him and I believe he will commit to you. Any kind of good relationship is a two way street.

Extremely satisfied Dr Zeeshan was extremely nice and helpful. He was quick in diagnosing my problem and prescribed me right medication. Will certainly recommend this place.

Dr. Shaikh has awesome patient bed side manners . Their hours are very convenient and their prices are very affordable for people without insurance . Everytime my sons get sick or need a school physical I can bring them here without waiting to get an appointment with their PCP. I can trust Dr. Shaikh with my babies health problems. Staff is very nice and facility is always clean.

I had a great experience.The staff was highly courteous and friendly,the office from the waiting area to the rooms was very clean.The doctor listened to me very keenly and was very kind and educated me regarding my illness.The doctors kindness and friendliness was very impressive too.I got a follow up call to check how i was doing which was very commendable.I would highly recommend this practice to anyone!!!

Great Doctor and excellent clinic. Customer relation is fabulous. Brought my mom to the doctor and her health improved so drastically.

The staff was nice over the phonewhen i called but, once i arrived the attitude was completely different! The waiting room had no ac at all. We had to wait over an hour and they still hadnt processed or even looked at the paperwork filled out before the doctor was ready for us. I have 2 small kids were hot and nothing was made there for them The waiting room was not kid friendly, cramped, and small. I only stayed to see the because we had been waiting over an hr already ..but i never return to this clinic! Rude reps at the window,lobby shows no real apperaction for their patients time and comfort levels! (and theyre service totally reflects it ) crying out loud the nurse said she would eyeball one of my daughters instead of having her go on the machine.... Sad and pitiful service at the very least!

Dr. Zeeshan Shaikh is the most patient oriented doctor that I have visited in some time. He actually cares about the patients needs. He has what I call a great bedside manner. I am so pleased with him that I am going to refer him to friends and family.

Dr Shaikh is incredibly knowledgeable, very honest, quick, and always to the point. We would rather go to him for his advise and opinion than to our PCP. We are so impressed and truly grateful for him!

Brought in my 2 year old on Sunday with swallen eye. Waited a little in line the got to a room. Doc looked at us for 2 minutes and declared it is an allergy. He then said they can give her a shot or to get her benedril for kids. I chose ladder. Didnt say what dosage or anything. Benedril can be given to 2 year olds but only with doctors instructions. Im calling back and they are already closed.Anyway, next day swallen eye havent got better a bit. We went to our reg doctor. It was an infection possibly caused by mosquito bite. Gave us antibiotics and swalleness reduced a lot within an hour.Highly do not recommend this place. Neglegence.

They treat you like you are a junky, they prescribe according to their license. Not according to your ailment. I will never go to an Indian Dr again. Bad experience, and super slow service. What a joke.

Dr. Zeeshan Shaikh is a very caring and professional physician who very effectively diagnosed and treated a ear problem for me. No other physician I’d been to previously has been able to effectively treat the issue. I highly recommend Dr. Shaikh and the care I received through Southwest Urgent Care & family care.

Couldnt figure out what was wrong with my daughter, she had red swells/bites covering her body. The female black doctor told me it was mosquito bites... I knew it wasnt mosquito bites. I ended up diagnosing her with bed big bites days after I visited. What a waste of money, no treatment plan. Felt I got ripped off bigtime. Im a single mother as it is. I wouldnt recommend unless your into Mickey mouse drs.

One of the best clinics Ive ever been to. I was stuck in downtown traffic called around nobody would take me because theyre closing. Called and spoke with Haris very nice polite and willing to take me last minute right before closing. Fast & efficient. If Im ever in the area again Ill go back. Thank yall again!

My daughter has something like a little painful tumor on her back and they drained it. first injecting the area many times with out numbing her skin .they know better how painful and sensitive it was..to me thats to cruel the way they injected her making her cryshes 22yr

The doctor was able to see me right away in spite of the New Years holiday. Very profesional and friendly place. After I saw the doctor I immediately felt much better, thank you for your care I will definitely go back to this place.

Staff and procedures are everything in a clinic...too bad they fell short.I was treated well at the office at the end of their business day. I had to work that night, about 2 hours later. No medication was called to the correct Walmart that I told them to call the prescription to. Result was no medication for the night, for a possible urinary infection.The next morning I called their office and was told that their Doctor would call into the correct Walmart...that DID NOT happen. Result no medication that was potentially needed for the possible infection.A few I was called by the clinic to say that the culture was negative...meaning I had no urinary infection. Happy about that...NOT HAPPY with the staff that could not get a medication called to the right place nor transferred to the correct place, that next day.

Cannot thank Dr. Shaikh enough for excellent treatment and diagnosis! Though had to go through surgery but it was required. Very dedicated staff, definitely will recommend to my family and friends.

I have stage for endometriosis. I went in this place in tears. All he did was give me 10 of the most pathetic pain realiveing meds ever to exist. Ive had to go to the ER because of this. I begged for help. He also fill birth control that was already filled and on hold. How that helps me. I have no idea. I want my $ back. He didnt listen to me at all. It was like he just wanted me to leave. I usually dont do stuff like this but that was pathetic

Doctor here isnt great at listening to actual symptoms and will happily charge you money for no remedy of any kind. Also, super judgmental. Dont waste your time or money here and find a real doctor.

Awesome quick service, they accept insurance. They are fully equipped and were able to do my X-ray. Fast response and caring. Also accepts walk ins.

My insurance covered every expense, yet they are not reimbursing the provisional Copay of $ 150 dollars for the last 9 months, even after requesting over phone. BIG TIME CHEATERS , Their CLINIC is a joke.. They are there not to serve, just to make money from unsuspecting people .. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE.. BEWARE ... DONT GO HERE.. CHEATERS

Ive been seeing Dr. Shaikh for a few years. Hes knowledgeable and listens to what I need and what Im worried about. Ive always been happy with his practice.

They did a hell of a job stitching my finger up after I cut it severely with the lid of a coke bottle!

Zero service. The front desk said 15 min l have waited and I wait more than one hour and after that l have waited for school excuse more than 20 min .It is the worst clinic.

Check the exp date of the medicine before you taking home because I visited today and the doctor gave for me the medicine with the exp date was over one year . And when I called them they just said throw it away and not do anything for me .

Literally paid $80 to be told what I already knewI insisted on telling them exactly my situation but they needed a urine test and that was $40 moreAnd what was I told ? EXACTLY what I already knewI shouldve known my mother has come here several times and theyve charged me an arm and a leg for all these unnecessary tests

First of all, arriving, and when you go to a clinic you expect the STAFFING to be serious, and there was a couple coming and going and they werent even being treated!Secondly, they treated him and the doctor told me “how did you know about us” like really? From there I became distrustful!!In third grade I left, and the “helper” or nurse, whoever she is, came back to me because she forgot to weigh my baby!What is the first thing you have to do to know what dose you are going to be prescribed!And finally, already disappointed with the place, I CAME TO THE PHARMACY for the prescription they gave me, and the person at the Pharmacy clarified that it is A LOT OF DOSE for a 5-month-old baby and for my babys weight!Im NEVER coming back!!! Worst place!

BE CAREFUL WITH THIS PLACE!!!We sent 2 patients to this clinic 2 months ago and until now they send us the medical notes...Customer service is mediocre and employees care little about the patients condition. It is not known how this clinic is still open.
