If you don’t have insurance they will help you.Made me feel totally comfortable. I usually pass out with drawing blood but the lady who helped me gave me the run down and was very personable with me.

I love their new location! The front door is ON fannin and they have their own parking lot, it was mildly confusing finding it at first but once inside I had an excellent experience! I’ve been using their westpark facility for a year and this one is closer to me and nicer since it’s newer. The person (Abraham!) who tested me made sure I was comfortable all through my visit, and was a sweetheart. I highly recommend their services! Thank you for providing this needed health care for Houston.

I had an excellent experience with Abraham during my recent blood draw. His skill and professionalism were evident as they made the process smooth and virtually painless. He took the time to explain the procedure and ensure my comfort. I was impressed by his gentle technique and the ability to locate a vein on the first try.His friendly demeanor helped ease any anxiety I had, and I left feeling satisfied with the overall experience. I would highly recommend this testing to anyone in need of bloodwork.

My new tech missed my veins on both 1&2nd stick however Abraham was able to find a vein and stick me on the 3rd try he was great and the other tech was very sweet I was so in a hurry to leave due to the anxiety I didn’t get any condoms or lube on my way out unfortunately

This place is very professional. The staff answering the phone is rude and ghetto. Candace who does assessments is rude. I called a month ago telling Candace that when they passed me off to Catholic Charities they put me in a dangerous environment with Drugs and Murder happening every single day. Kidnappings and home invasion was an everyday thing. My house got broken in and every single thing I had got stolen while I was in rehab due to relapsing while I was over there living in The Redford Apartments. At the end of the day I was an Aids Foundation Houston Client before they handed me off to the negligence of Catholic Charities. I had police reports of what happened to my apartment. They refused to move me saying if I want to move I have to give them $1800. How can I afford that and I’m homeless on housing. I called “Allies Of Hope” that is the exact same place as AIDS Foundation oh Houston. A changed name for a place with the same tired, rude and un caring staff as before. 11 or 12 years ago I can say if I reached out about what happened to me AFH would have really tried to help. Candace said she would call me back. That was a month ago. She never returned my call. I spoke to her in depth about what happened to me more in depth. I feel like if they pass off a client to another organization and that client is abused or neglected it is part the responsibility of this Allies of Hope place to step in. How can they be a Allie of anyone if they don’t protect you in the first place?? My Name is Larry Hutton FYI because I’m not hiding behind this complaint. I’m am Diagnosed paranoid schizophrenia and HIV positive that has a history of drug addiction and suicidal attempts. What are they doing? Once I was passed off there was never any wellness checks on me. After so long trying to get help with no avail I ran away from my apartment to live in a person garage because I was so afraid for my life. Catholic Charities didn’t help me. My police report didn’t matter. All my furniture, clothes, TV, kitchen supplies, toilet paper , cleaning products, towels, can goods, forks , spoons , plates EVERYTHING was stolen when my apartment was broken into. 😢My back patio glass and kitchen window was busted out for weeks! Blood on the side walk from stabbings. Everyone smoking crack in every apartment! News cameras , police, and fire trucks every single day had me on edge so much I was afraid to sleep inside my apartment because it was in the back corner right by the freeway! I would sit outside until the sun came up because I was afraid that whoever came in my house would come back! I call this so called Allies of hope to tell them what happened to be because with no avail from Catholic Charities I thought maybe they would help me. Right now I’m living with a person who is using me for my check and mentally abuse me simply because I have HIV and no place to go. I feel like if you hand one of your clients off to a organization and they are not taking care of them them both organizations are liable. This will not be the last of me telling this story. I’ve contacted News stations and haven’t had my story heard yet, but what’s in the dark will always come to the light.

It’s important to keep your health in order. Getting checked for these types of health issues can be scary - the staff was incredible. They were kind, empathetic and really put me at ease - I appreciate them very much!

Getting tested can be nerve wrecking.. Abraham was amazing and made my experience so comforting. It felt as though I had a friend there to talk me through it and I needed that. 10/10 I will come back again.

I was a client for 5 years Mrs Green Mr Jackson was very rude and unprofessional too me. I ask for some personal information so I could get housing I was talked to like a dog. I thought the agency was supposed to help people instead I felt mistreated

When you get to the building don’t go inside the main door for the clinic is on the right side , I wish I found them earlier super nice staff my doctor was awesome and very informative, highly recommended

Afh Houston needs to be defunded. It has uneducated workers. Clients dosen,t get the help they request for. Black workers are predigest. They do not help with the hopwa program or housing. They do not have infectious disease doctors in their offices the staff lies constantly. We as clients need to call our reps and require to defund afh Houston.. and protest.

Made an appt. They confirmed shortly after. Next day, was in and out within the hour. 1st time here; will definitely keep coming. Walk-ins welcome!

Ive been seeing dr portnoy since I started going hear back in janaury and its been literally life saving lol so im a actor in a certain type of film and making sure my viral load is low is a important factor to me so this place makes sure im staying safe + healthy

Thanks to the AIDS foundation of Houston I was able to teach in the Texas prison system as a Pure health educator I was one of the first groups at the Ramsey 1 unit in rosharon Texas! I remain STD free I have never been sick!🙏

Rude lady answered the phone when I inquired about housing! Many of those employees shouldn’t even be working there! They are mostly there for a check!

I came here to seek help getting housing since I’ve been homeless over 2 years and the woman said they couldn’t help me and only referred me to other places that would and I already contacted for help. 😞

They dont help anyone with anything, dont give your info cos they will use it to funraise to pay the CEO luxury life but people seeking help with see none
