They do NOT specialize in male sexual health any more than primary care physicians. If you need actual advice outside of contraception and regular testing, you’ll be referred to a urologist. I spent $100 for two visits to be told “you know more about this stuff than we do” and then was referred to Dr. goldfarb who’s next availability was in 3 months. I was also not given a doctor, I was given a nurse practitioner who was at best annoyed at my all my theories regarding recurrent UTIs. I have been to multiple doctors all of whom dismissed infections that I can prove are occurring. I finally came here in the hopes that they would actually listen but my homeopathic remedies were dismissed as placebos and I wasn’t actually given any alternative or useful advice whatsoever. If they’re going to frame themselves as specialist, the least they could do is the bare minimum beyond “idk go to someone else.”

Derek Smith and the whole crew are not only professional but make you feel super comfortable. From the front desk to the clinic everyone is super sweet and amazing. I love that it’s a one stop shop from pharmacy to bloodwork.

Very friendly staff! Cold water available. Such a queer positive space...I was absolutely in love with this doctors office. You can have lab work done here and there’s even a pharmacy onsite. How convenient!

Clean, welcoming, very professional.Plenty of parking. Everyone is friendly and welcoming. Even tho I arrived 30 minutes early to my appointment, I wanted less than 5 minutes before being seen by the doctor. The person (forgot his name) who drew blood was by far the best!!! Felt nothing. If you’re afraid of needles, he’s your man!I didn’t feel rushed by the doctor.

I dislike this place. It’s far from me, which it’s not their problem, the issue is they are disorganized and it often results in a massive waste of time for me. Their customer service is horrible, very impersonal; borderline rude, especially over the phone, as if they are doing you a favor answering your call. Their billing department is a joke, there is no transparency when it comes to cost of services and you never know what or how much you’ll be billed. I once got billed hundreds for lab work that was supposed to be coded as preventive and covered by my insurance 100%. It took months to get that resolved.

They do a great job figuring out insurance issues and have very patiently helped with pre auth and coverage errors. The adjacent pharmacy is ultra convenient. They can get you in and out super fast for a simple blood work appointment, but you can expect great and respectful longer conversations for your first appointments or as you need with your doctor.

Love this place. The lobby is ALWAYS LIT in terms of lights and music. Receptionists are always in a good mood it’s almost scary. Also, Derek Smith > Any other PCP (in the whole state probably)Man’s is like a guardian angel in scrubs. If he ever quits I might follow him to his next practice. Been in his care for 5 years now, & he’s always on top of things with a genuine smile on his face. From last minute televisits to Monkeypox treatment, and many more occurrences - so yeah I trust his judgement more than my own at this point lmao

I went in for a referral for physical therapy. I informed the doctor of the physical therapist I wanted to see and that I had previously been to that therapist for knee pain. I gave the doctor the name and phone number of the physical therapist I wanted to see. Instead I was referred to a physical therapist 11 miles away from where I live. This is after I explained that I do not drive. I called a week ago and asked for them to fix both referrals(I also had a referral for an x-ray). Both referrals were redone. However the referral for the x-ray was once again sent to somewhere that is not in network for me. It seems like whoever does their referrals does not check to see if where they send you is actually in network.Im not sure why so many doctors offices have a problem with doing referrals. I literally gave the doctor the name and phone number of the physical therapist I had been to recently and the person who did the referral still did that incorrectly. I was also referred out for imaging and was referred to a location that is out of network.A doctors office that can do basic referrals is important to me. The doctor seemed nice but good staff is just as important as a good doctor.I just got off the phone with the office and was told two weeks later that it is not their responsibility to check and see if who they refer you to is in network. If they were never going to simply call the place they were referring me to and confirm that I could go there with my insurance why not tell me so that I dont rely on you?Basic communication should not be that hard.

The staff here is so so. You are treated as a number. The laboratory staff is horrible. Even with insurance you will be charged hundreds. Communication via Klara and Healow app is abysmal. I sent a message regarding my treatment by the laboratory staff which went unanswered and ignored. The on-site Walgreens also treats you like a number and the staff are very rude. I would not recommend utilizing the services at this clinic. The clinic needs to do a better job at treating patients with dignity and respect. Especially if they want to cater to the LGBTQ community.

This LGBTQ-centered primary care clinic is very welcoming and efficient. As a patient here for many years, I can say that Im always well informed of my care plan and confident that the providers are looking out for my best interest and are up to date on all current research to further the practice of medicine. I highly recommend this clinic to anyone needing to find a primary care provider in Houston.

I don’t usually write reviews for healthcare providers but I must say how great my first experience was with this clinic. From the moment David answered the phone to schedule my appointment to the experience with the provider, Donald Harvey, I have been treated with dignity and respect the whole way. I’ve never had a PCP who’s offered culturally competent care to me as a queer man, and who offered me full support for my identity and validated my experiences. It was a place of no judgement, no squeamishness about the care I need as a gay man and a focus on encouragement and health. Thanks for that experience. If you need care as an LGBTQ person, I strongly recommend you visit CrofootMD.

Beware, if you have BCBS and need lab work, you will get a bill in the mail for about $200.00 (or more depending on the lab). When I got this outrageous lab bill and cancelled my follow-up appointment for more blood work they charged me another $50.00.I tried to talk to them about the unfair billing practices, and they still want to charge me the $50.00 cancellation fee.So a $35.00 copay visit turned into a $285.00 visit.I am going back to Legacy Clinic, Ive never been charged $200.00 for blood work or received a surprise bill.

Much better that the factory that is Legacy Community Health. The clinic is smaller and really feels more like a caring family. I highly recommend them over Legacy Community Health which to my knowledge is basically the only other option in Houston. Everyone I have seen there is caring and compassionate and the atmosphere is so much more inviting.

I have Abel Flores MD, outstanding physician, he really took his time, was patience , listened, then fully explained my results, never have I had a doctor that was so attentive and polite and kind. I’m hearing impaired so that meant allot to me, cause he did not rush me nor make me feel uncomfortable as well as his staff all had excellent patient services. I was pleased and will continue my care with him. Thank you all

I cannot say enough about the kindness and compassion of Dr. Flores and all of his staff. They are always professional and courteous. He is not a 2 minute physician as I like to call them. My previous PCP made me feel like I was being herded through like cattle, not here. Highly recommend this practice.

Don’t like Maggie at all. She’s lazy and has a bad attitude. She treated me like a drug addict when I needed pain meds despite myself being a patient at this clinic for literally almost a decade and never asking for them before. However the rest of the staff is fabulous. Charles and dr crofoot are awesome and it’s convenient that they have the pharmacy next door to pick up my prep.

The Crofoot office deserve every star and more. I’ve been going here for almost 7 years and never been to a doctors office where I’m not just a patient. Every member of the team goes above and beyond to make sure my medical needs are met and clearly explain everything they’re doing to ensure I’m in my best health. When Dr. Crofoot is away I’m always taken care of by Derek, Maggie, Charles and so many more.

I want to say that I am thrilled with the overall service provided at Dr. Crofoot’s clinic. But, exceptional is Dr. Abel Flores. I feel as comfortable in his care as I do with Dr. Crofoot’s. Dr. flores takes the time to go over my immediate needs and my long range care. He is very knowledgeable and very caring. One cannot ask for more from one’s PCP. The staff is professional and very gracious, and I like and appreciate that, as well. 5 stars for the clinic.

Anne in the office spent 10 minutes explaining to me that because 1 dermatologist in Missouri City isnt in network with BCBS HMO, that I have to find my own dermatogist and give them their NPI and call and make sure they are in network with my insurance...So lazy and just an awful way for practicing medicine... Getting free Botox kickbacks is all that matters I guess
