Planned Parenthood - Georgetown Health Center

Contrary to the other reviews, I have been to this location twice and both times were great. I have been to multiple locations and while there is another one closer to me, I would rather drive to the Georgetown location. Today, the receptionist warmly greeted me and the nurse practitioner took precaution when I told her I was scared before my birth control removal. I have no complaints.

This is by far the worst place to take a person trying to get help on pregnancy!!!! They are very false leading about payments and sliding payments!!! They are rude also!!!! Never again!!!! False information!!! I will be contacting corporate because this is beyond ridiculous

DO NOT GO HERE!!! They will falsely overcharge you! I went in for my follow up 3 year pap smear. The doctor said at my age I didnt need one for another 2 years. But, my blood had already been taken so I was still being charged for that. I was suppose to receive a 40-60% for paying cash so I was expecting approx $130. YET I was still charged almost $400!! When I asked for a refund I was told to call billing who just ran me in circles.DISGUSTING and DISHONEST business!!!! What happened to affordable womans care... RIPPED OFF!!!

DO NOT GO HERE! My review was taken down so I will repost. I went here for an abortion. During the procedure, it was very painful. Not even two minutes in, the doctor says I need to go to the emergency room now. The doctor had made a slit in my uterus, causing external bleeding and internal. They have not even got through the procedure I paid over $1,000 for!! I then am bleeding severely bad. I get to the emergency room and have to go in for emergency surgery to burn my uterus closed and perform a D&C, that planned parenthood did not finish. After surgery, I went home. I felt extremely sick, I had a fever of 106.3, chills to the point doctors thought I was seizing, I had to be taken by ambulance. I was on the verge of death. I had a severe infection. I was in the hospital for months battling with blood transfusion from how much blood I lost at planned parenthood, antibiotics, so much medicine to the point my liver was also failing. This was the most traumatizing thing, I ever had to go through and it truly almost killed me. I’m sure planned parenthood has good services in other areas but truly for a women in need and this happens to them is not right. $1000 for nothing but death in all areas. So much more to disclose but at least rethink another location.

People seem to forget that Planned Parenthood is one of the ONLY options for affordable womens healthcare. They are also trying to operate in a state that actively does not want to let them treat women, and makes it incredibly difficult for them to do so. So it may take a minute to be seen, I personally experienced very few delays, but theyre doing the best they can with the volume of patients they see.I cannot say enough things about the kindness and respect I was given on a very tough day while I was there; the care was top notch from genuinely concerned doctors and nurses. I was able to receive treatment for multiple issues, and appreciated the follow up a few days later to check in on my mental and physical health.Show a little grace to these people and these offices that are working so hard for us. I would encourage anyone in need of healthcare to go to Planned Parenthood.

Went in today for the very first time and was treated so well! Thank you so much to the staff members I encountered today making my visit so much easy on me! Thank you to Ms. Vicky upfront you got me checked in and was so polite to me and my family member. Thank you to Sophonie during my intake you were very patient with me when you were taking my blood! Thank you Sadi for just doing an awesome job and being an awesome person! This was a great appointment thank you!!!

Worst service Ive ever encountered - and I go to the doctor often. Im writing this review from the waiting room. My appointment was scheduled for 11:30 and it is now 1:30 and I havent been seen yet. Ive never in my life spent 2 full hours in the waiting room. When I checked back in with the receptionist, she was very unfriendly and told me that they tell people to expect to be here 3-4 hours, which Im assuming means 3 of those hours are spent just waiting to see someone. This is insane, unacceptable, and is a great way to make patients feel uncomfortable before the appointment even begins.

The staff are very kind and courteous. They let me know I may be waiting awhile and checked in on me regularly to update me on when I would be seen. I understand PP operates on a shoe string budget due to loss of government funding so I choose to wait the wait and support the organization because without services like these women in our community would not have access to reproductive health services. Thank you PP and your kind staff.

I waited over 5 hours to get seen. I just couldnt wait any longer i had two kids waiting for me. They also never gave me my refund since I told them i couldnt wait any longer. Even though i was assured by the front desk receptionist I would get a refund, Ive yet to receive one. Ill call every day until i receive my money back. I refuse to give you my money for free when I did not even get seen by the doctor!!

The women that work here are so amazing. They are friendly, caring, funny, down to earth and efficient. They make you feel so comfortable. I highly recommend this location for any services. I never waited more than 30 minutes to be seen and they were very thorough and made my experience wonderful.

If your appointment is at 8 do not intend to be seen until at least 1030-11. Yes the lady’s are nice but the wait time to even be seen by a doctor is ridiculous. Never will I come here again.

I had gotten sick before the procedure and the nurses were very nice they gave me salted snacks and sprite.But when I had the precedure done it was very painful and traumatizing. Now a couple days later Im still bleeding a lot and Im experiencing moderate to severe adomanal pain Im starting to think should I be concerned.

I went for abortion services. And was scared and nervous because of the experience and being afraid of the procedure and a lot of “what if” kind of of thoughts. Every staff memeber throughout the process was open, honest, and understanding of my feelings. In the recovery area the nurses were extremely kind and caring. Every fear of the “what if” melted away and though the circumstance of the situation was still scary every staff member aided fully in creating the most comfortable environment for me. During my procedure my husband had questions of his own about what kind of care and support he would need to proved for me and the dr performing the procedure was able to sit down with him and give him really helpful advice and tips to aid in my continued recovery at home. All around it was a much more positive experience then I originally imagined t would be.

The worse place ever. Had appt at 1 didnt get seen til 4. Come on ppl most ppl have children they have to pick up from school etc. This was by far the worse visit. No referrals from me. But my recommendation is to stop over booking apts. This is nuts no-one wants to sit 4-5 hrs to recieve a dam shot. Get it together Omg.......ppl please go to your own dr. To see if they administer the shots or birth control because this place will make u lose your religion.

My friend received a DNC procedure at this Planned Parenthood location. They let a student perform the procedure without the consistent supervision of a licensed doctor- as a result, my friends procedure was not completed correctly. The student did not remove the entire baby. Now, she has spent countless dollars on emergency room visits, had to have a second painful procedure to correct his mistake and untold emotional pain at having to go through this terrible ordeal. This is unacceptable! Women need to be given safe treatment from actual doctors (or at the very least, with a doctors eye carefully following the procedure) and recompense when they are mistreated! I am very disappointed, nay enraged, at how my friend has been treated and urge you to do your research and ASK QUESTIONS any time someone has intimate access to your body. This location should be sued.

Canceled my appointment twice without any explanation why wont answers the phone either. I rebooked twice at this point Im done planned parenthood all together.

Extremely Rude! The medical assistants were not only rude they were unprofessional and I don’t recommend and super expensive!

2nd visit here, both times waited over 2 hours past appointment time for name to even be called. Appointment was at 1140 am it is now 320pm and Im still sitting in the waiting room. I will never come back here for anything.

On 6/9/2021 I went to Planned Parenthood and was told that I could have blood tests run to see if I had PCOS. Not only have I not received any phone calls after 7-10 business days, but after being reassured two times on the phone that a clinician will reach out (and having paid in full on 6/9/2021), I received an additional bill that a new lab test was run without consultation in my mailbox 7/5/2021, the statement dated for 6/30/2021. Through the patient portal I requested my first medical health record on 7/6/2021, after 24 hours, nothing. I called for a third time on 7/7/2021 appx. 1 pm. During this call I was told I might not receive a clinician call if no health abnormalities were found. I notified the rep about my additional statement and had reason to believe that something must have been found because I was not consulted about additional testing, and after being put on hold, was told that she did not have the training to be able to disclose my chart and that I will be expecting a call. Thats fine, but should I expect the call in another month? I have now requested my record for a second time this week today, 7/8/2021.I paid in full for a call back or at the very least obtaining my health records- especially if Im now being billed for additional testing that I wasnt aware of (update 9/2, they forgot to include it when I was at the office). At this point, it seems that my medical health record is being withheld from me, or possibly even malpractice if I was told I could be tested for PCOS, when I actually could not.Im not sure if this is a typical situation for patients who go to this location, but the practice appears to be approaching on ethical and legal issues. I look forward to either a response back, or receiving my medical record online.________________________________________Update 9/2: Im never going back. I did finally get my first round of blood test results via PDF through the patient portal on 7/9/2021- however they notified my step mom through email. I rectified this via email through the patient portal and stated that there was NO reason why ANY of her information should be on my file. I dont even know how it would be attached to my file in the first place, I didnt include it in my paperwork or portal. I received confirmation that her information was removed from my file.I completed the referral for an ultrasound on 7/15/2021. After a month of attempting to call Planned Parenthood and the Imaging center, I finally received answer that the imaging center was having an issue sending the file to PPs cloud. I brought a disk to PP on 8/10/2021 and was told in person it may or may not be able to be downloaded- great. I also made sure for a SECOND TIME (in person) that my step moms information was not in the system as I did not want any further issues. Confirmed.I received the disk back in the mail on 8/18 with no updated phone call.Then I get a VM today, 11:38 am 9/2/2021, Weve been trying to call you about your ultrasound results. I have my phone record history since June so that I wouldnt miss a single phone call on this expensive journey, and here is the first phone call AND voice mail I have received during this ENTIRE process. Ill be honest, I left a nasty VM because this has been nearly a 90 day transaction and $700.I receive a call back at 1:54 pm, and stated that they only have my moms phone number in the system and had to get my number from her. Interesting. Every time I checked my portal my # was in there just fine. When I drove an hour up to PP and spoke to an office rep in person my # was just fine. This was by far the worst medical experience Ive ever had in my life. This made me feel like a joke. Great news though, my ultrasound blood clots came back fine. Ill to go to a standard OB in the future.

The front desk receptionist was the meanest spirited person we’ve ever met. Would NOT recommend this location.
