Horrible experience. My appointment was moved from early Friday to 4pm Friday last minute, I didnt think much of it at first but turns out thats their last appointment and what that meant was everyone was rushing to leave.I had surgery done, the doctor did not wait long enough for the local anesthetic to kick in and it hurt tremendously. When he was done, no one even cleaned up the blood or applied gauze or even a bandaid. I was just told I could leave. I had to catch another doctor before they left to ask about medication, that doctor said my doctor left before prescribing anything and when I asked if a few prescription Tylenol 800s would be better for my liver instead of maxing out both ibprofin and acetaminophen every day, I was treated like an opiate addict. After a week of still being in pain and another doctor telling me it looks infected and I should reach back out, I called and they said everything is fine and they refused to see me or do anything. Saying they might be able to schedule me in a month.

My post vasectomy I was told to supply a sample to any Sparrow Lab. I brought my container to the Grand Ledge Sparrow lab after I made my deposit. They informed me there was never an order written. Now I have to go back tomorrow and supply another sample because they never entered the order. On top of that I had to wait an hour to be told this. Such a waste of time.

In February/March of 2022 I had a urine sample lost and after a week of not receiving my results I contacted them and thats when they discovered that it had been lost. Then I had an ultrasound and to get my results I was lied to 4 times that someone would just be calling me with my results and after not getting them I called back again and I was told I have to schedule an appointment to get my results. I decided to call back and not give a name and just simply ask how I obtain my results and once again I was told SOMEONE WOULD BE CALLING ME! After this happened I wanted to make a complaint and ask to speak with a supervisor I was told once again someone would be calling me.🤣 That never happened.I had to come back now November 2022 due to having a catheter placed at another hospital out of network and so I was going to follow up with a urologist in network and once again my experience has been horrible. I was told that the order for a procedure I needed to have done was sent over and I could go ahead and schedule it on Monday. I called again today because the scheduler said they did not receive the order as of yesterday. Again, I was told it was sent over. I asked them when and they told m TODAY. THEY NEVER SENT THE ORDER OVER until I called and complained about not being able to schedule even though I called on Wednesday to verify that it had been sent over! I am not happy with the care from SMG Urology and it makes me question the care I would recieve at any other Sparrow affiliates.

The doctors themselves are fine. But, trying to actually reach the office is a joke. I was having post op issues and I finally got ahold of someone who wouldn’t put my call through the nurse because it was “normal” I ended up seeing my primary doctor instead and come to find out my stent was blocked and I had an infection. Now, I’m trying to reach them again and I’ve been consistently calling for 3 hours now and still haven’t been able to get through. It shouldn’t be this hard to get ahold of your doctors office. It’s a joke.

Had outpatient surgery early in March, was supposed to have two post-op appointments within the three months following. Its now been 4 months, I have reached out numerous times and have NOT been contacted. The doctors were good during my surgery, but I find the lack communication unprofessional and l cannot recommend a practice that leaves their patients out in the wind.

This complaint is not about the medical survive. It is about their receptionist. For whatever reason, receptionist Cindy did not check in my mother when we arrived. After an hour wait, it turned out that we never were checked in. My mom is 82. She is in severe pain, she started crying when she heard that we waited in vain. Her blood pressure jumped to 184/90 when we finally saw a doctor. On a positive side, Sparrow emergency room is just across the road.

No phone number listed for either the physician I saw or for his Urology practice at Sparrow? Really Sparrow? Also, access to send a message to the provider regarding anything other than business matters is now suspended (except for chargeable evisits“) the epic app. Am I nothing more than a source for more $$ for Sparrow? I guess I need to search for a health system that cares!
