The Oldershaw Clinic

I started going to Oldershaw clinic as I was preparing for an embryo transfer. I continued treatment on my transfer day and during my two week wait. I was thrilled to learn that shortly after I was pregnant.Blair and Nicole were helpful, informative, and kind. I enjoyed my sessions with them very much. They helped my body rest during a tender time. My transfer happened to be during Thanksgiving week, and I was so appreciative of their availability as I do believe their treatments helped me in my path to becoming mama. Thank you, Blair and Nicole!

The care I received at this clinic was phenomenal. My input and wishes were considered with every step in the process. My acupuncturist, Blair was so thorough and made me feel like my overall health (not just the symptoms) was important and addressed. She was able to help diagnose an underlying condition responsible for my symptoms. For this and for many other reasons, I will be forever grateful to her and team for such a wonderful experience.

Dr. Blair is absolutely amazing. She takes time to listen to my needs and explain the rationale behind her methods of treatment. Initially, I was skeptical about acupuncture. I didnt know if Traditional Chinese Medicine was for middle aged African Americans. I wasnt sure my body would respond or if it would be too uncomfortable. Dr. Blair made sure I was physically comfortable throughout my treatments and mentally aware and prepared for my care plan. I appreciate her comforting disposition. After the first treatment, I slept better and felt slightly more energized when awake, though my primary concern was not sleep or energy. After 3-4 treatments, I started noticing improvement of my primary concern. Im very grateful for Dr. Blair and the team at Oldershaw Clinic.

The Oldershaw Clinic is wonderful! Ive been seeing Autumn for acupuncture and she is so lovely to work with. Its clear she is very knowledgeable about health and holistic medicine and offers a lot of valuable support outside of what you find in a traditional doctors office. She spends a ton of time each session checking in on any updates to my health and wellness to ensure each treatment is highly personalized. The sessions are very relaxing. Id highly recommend Autumn and the clinic.

I love Leslie and her practice. I personally loved seeing Nicole Gonzales. Nicole is extremely knowledgeable in both Eastern and Western medicines. She helped me manage my expectations through fertility treatment by sharing knowledge and resources. We even brought my husband in for some education which was so kind and so helpful for him/us. I was trying to conceive and after some discouraging events I decided to try acupuncture. I thought that it would help me chill out at best. It is SO MUCH more than that. I met with Nicole who is amazing at what she does. We went over all of my history and labs and she gave me so much helpful information. I was able to start taking better vitamins and eating differently and the treatments really did help me relax. I’m happy to say that after 3 months I was pregnant and am now going on 20 weeks! Nicole has been helpful through my pregnancy and I feel thrilled and grateful to have found this clinic.

I found Leslie’s practice through a referral from my fertility specialist and was immediately impressed by the level of care I received. I had been getting acupuncture for years, but there was a feeling of ease that I found with the Oldershaw Clinic that was very different from other providers I’d seen. From the initial appointment set up, during my first consultation, and ongoing as Leslie and her team helped me through a really stressful time, I felt like they truly cared and respected me and wanted to make my experience as easy as possible. The office is warm and inviting and I look forward to the time I spend there. They have a lot of options for scheduling that made it so much easier with fitting in treatment with my work schedule and many doctor appointments. Leslie even worked directly with my doctor to develop a treatment plan and communicate what she was doing to monitor my progress. That was something totally new for me, and helped immensely since I was already coordinating so much between the many doctors I was seeing. Leslie and her team were empathetic and warm at every appointment, offering great ideas and feedback to help me understand the process of trying to get pregnant and how the acupuncture treatment was designed to support my needs. And now as I enter my third trimester, they have expressed true joy in seeing my happiness as I prepare to welcome my baby. I’m so thankful that I was able to have Leslie and her team as part of this journey!

I worked with Autumn when I was experiencing changes in my cycle and received such kind and skillful care. She listened to me thoroughly, helped interpret lab results, and made suggestions for supplements and lifestyle changes. With her support my symptoms resolved in a few months time. Leslie has been phenomenal on my journey trying to conceive. Im so glad I finally came to see her after a few months of trying different acupuncturists that were closer to my house. But Im glad I did because she really puts me at ease. She is calm, answering any questions I have and then very gentle applying the needles. I consider her an IVF expert and love that Im able to go deep with her on my options and lab results because she gets it. Shes also been able to prescribe me with some supplements that she identified I needed after reviewing my blood work. Its really cool how she combines eastern & western medicine in her practice. Overall, Ill be forever thankful for her being part of my journey.

Ive seen Nicole for regular acupuncture appointments both from when I was going through my IVF fertility journey and then again once I became pregnant. She not only has shown me the amazing healing power of acupuncture, but she also has answered questions Ive had regarding my fertility journey and pregnancy and even gives me sound, specific advice regarding my diet. Her breadth of knowledge of fertility challenges has been invaluable. I couldnt imagine having gone through this journey without her regular assistance. I was recommended to this place by the well-respected Dr. Aimee. I can easily see why she refers people here.

I have been going to Leslie and her team for over 19 years. I started when we were struggling with infertility, then through pregnancy. I have recently gone back to Leslie with shoulder challenges and to address overall health. Leslie is so easy to talk to, she listens and spends time and helps you create an action plan to address your needs. I feel better just walking into the office! Ive been seeing Leslie and Nicole consistently (1-2 times a week) for over a year and they are both amazing. In general, the clinic is very professional, welcoming, well-organized, and flexible. Nicole and Leslie both have stellar bed side manner, great knowledge of Chinese medicine as well as integrative medicine, and are very familiar with other kinds of resources in the Bay Area to refer their patients to. I transferred from a different acupuncture clinic to theirs because I reached a point in my journey where I wanted to see practitioners with more experience and specialized knowledge. My first appointment was over 2 hours with Leslie where she really listened to my concerns and customized a treatment plan that suited both my clinical needs but also my desires and comfort level. Additionally, they have both provided great emotional support throughout some confusing and tough times. I cant recommend them highly enough!

Before I started going to the Oldershaw Clinic, I was having high anxiety and trouble sleeping. My mother passed away earlier this year and my mind and body was still trying to process it. Nicole, my acupuncturist has been a wonderful support in helping me with my anxiety and sleep. Since I’ve been seeing Nicole, my sleep has improved drastically and my anxiety has reduced. Oldershaw Clinic is a very warm, relaxing place where you leave feeling restored. I highly recommend it!

I was referred to Leslie by our RE. I have been very thankful for Leslies thorough care, kind concern, and her attention to detail. She is very adept at interpreting and ordering the correct labs, and more than once she has caught something that my other doctors have missed. In addition, Leslie has a wonderful connection with other providers around the area and has referred me to great specialists. Leslie always shows a genuine interest and care, and has been so encouraging through this long journey. We are still waiting to conceive, and are so thankful that Leslie is a part of our fertility team.

Leslie and Nicole are a dynamo team- our family was sooooo lucky to have their support. I started trying to get pregnant at 43, and had been trying for almost a year when I found this clinic. Due to Leslie’s unique skills in both western and Chinese fertility strategies, her vast knowledge of the western medical system, and her strong advocacy, we were happily pregnant with very little western intervention necessary just a few months later. She addressed both mine and my husband’s health from a very holistic perspective, so that not only were we able to conceive but came out of the process healthier qnd more balanced than when we started. I also really appreciated that Leslie did everything she could along the way to make our care affordable - was willing to take insurance etc.Once I was pregnant, Leslie’s continued support in navigating perinatal care systems remained invaluable, and it was at this point that Nicole - both during pregnancy and post-partum - became central to our perinatal health. A mom herself, Nicole’s guidance and support became a pillar of our transition to parenthood, medically, emotionally, and otherwise. She’s a lot of fun too, with a very practical and laid back approach, and like Leslie her deep experience in both western and eastern care made her a wonderful advocate and guide. Honestly if it weren’t for Blue Cross shenanigans and the fact that we moved further away from Piedmont, we would probably still be going to this clinic for care (our son is turning 5 in January).We owe the existence of our beautiful healthy child, born 3 weeks before my 45th birthday with no fertility drugs or IVF, to Leslie and Nicole. All our kudos and thanks!!!

I had trouble growing my lining thick enough for a transfer and Nicole helped with that! She has a specific protocol for this and it worked like a charm for me. Although I am still in the IVF game, the care and attention Ive received from this clinic is excellent and I will continue to refer to them when I attempt another cycle.

I was recommended The Oldershaw Clinic by my midwife and I am so incredibly grateful I followed through. I have never been treated so well by such thorough, knowledgable, and compassionate providers as Leslie, Nicole and Autumn. I met with Nicole for my initial assessment and acupuncture treatment and I was floored by the holistic approach to fertility I experienced. Nicole talked to me about every aspect of my health, stress, nutrition, sleep, and supplements/vitamins. She spent the time to educate me and create a treatment plan that was grounded in her in-depth knowledge of the reproductive system and also meeting my individual goals. As a queer person I felt incredibly supported and respected, and my partner was welcomed for any appointment as well. I appreciate that Leslie, Nicole, and Autumn work as a team with each person seen in the clinic, and each aspect is done with utmost care- from billing your insurance, to offering high quality supplements, to the kind support I received by email during COVID. I highly recommend Leslie and The Oldershaw Clinic. I came to Leslie after I had been trying to get pregnant for about a year. I had spoken with Western doctors and worked with another acupuncturist. Nothing was changing. I wanted to bring in The Big Guns - serious, deep guidance for our best chance at starting a family. I didnt have time to waste on ineffective treatment. Leslie laid infertility treatment down for me clearly, relying on both Chinese and Western medicine. She guided me through changes to my diet, new supplements, acupuncture treatment, and the role of Western medicine under my circumstances. She allowed me to get in the best physical place that I could to get pregnant. Within six months, I was pregnant. Integrative medicine was not my magical answer to infertility, but it was absolutely a necessary piece of my journey.

I recommend the Oldershaw Clinic to anyone who wants to work on any chronic health issue or just improve their general health, wellness and spirit thru diet, vitamin and herb supplements, acupuncture and just some wonderfully positive coaching. I have been working with Leslie for at least a year now. Through this time we have significantly lowered my inflammation markers, one of my major goals in coming to the clinic, and we have verified the results with blood work. Getting continued support from Leslie has helped me to stay on track. She also maintains contact and coordination with my traditional conventional western doctor. I have been searching for this type of complimentary approach for about 5 to 6 years and have worked with others, but none have been as successful and pleasant to work with as Leslie and the Oldershaw Clinic.

I would highly recommend Leslie as a skillful and knowledgeable acupuncturist and functional medicine provider. She is incredible! Leslie was able to help me improve my digestion and elimination with celiac disease. Her in-depth in-take process got to the bottom of my issues. Leslie was then able to use her amazing acupuncture skills and vast knowledge of high-quality supplements to get me back to a level of functioning that I had not seen since pre-celiac disease! I am now able to maintain my health by less frequent tune-up visits with Leslie and her staff, and continuing to take and tweak my supplements, as needed.

I HATE needles, but I LOVE coming here for acupuncture. Nicole is awesome. After experiencing 3 miscarriages I came here by referral from my specialist. I truly believe fertility acupuncture works because I maintained my fourth pregnancy and finally got my blessing of joy. I wanted to continue acupuncture after having my baby, so I mistakenly tried another acupuncturist near me ONLY because I didnt want to drive to Oakland after having my baby (I live in Hercules). That experience was AWFUL, the office was unappealing and the set up Was not relaxing AND it was painful. I decided to make the drive and continue to come see Nicole, Ive never been happier with a service. Acupuncture relaxes me and helps my overall health. Whenever my husband and I try and conceive again I will increase my sessions for the entire pregnancy like I did with my last one. Even if youre afraid of needles like me, give The Oldershaw Clinic a try it is a great experience. I never thought I would advocate for acupuncture .

Because it works!I first went to Leslie over a decade ago because western medicine couldnt relieve my medical problems and I continue to go because her holistic and non-chemical methods are successful. I still struggle with a needle to take blood but acupuncture is painless and energizing.
