This clinic is absolutely insulting with the way they treat patients and their time. They bill twice for each appointment- one for the facility charge and another for the provider. This would make sense if any actual work were being performed. I was forced to wait for nearly an hour after my appointment time, then proceeded to sit and have a PA review a survey with me which I had completed before the appointment. 20 mins later I was out the door. I’m not billing OU for my waiting time, no…but they sure did bill me over $725 for the “service” which hands-on time was less than 30 minutes. I can’t believe this is legal.

I’m beyond annoyed! Being in this position is already a lot to deal with. Needing assistance with the help of having a child is STRESSFUL!OU send me out for labs, I go to TWO different lab corp locations. Both locations told me OU put bill my insurance, I am a VA referral! there isn’t a way to bill my insurance. Since the Va and OU was closed when I went the first time I decided I’d wait till the morning to call the VA to check if I was responsible for any out of pocket expenses. I Call the VA they informed me labs are included in the referral they sent to OU. Therefore I shouldn’t be paying for anything!Ok, cool i proceed to another lab corp, this is where I learn OU put bill my insurance instead of accounts billable. I was instructed by lab corp to call OU, they could explain what was needed. Instead of it saying bill insurance, lab corpNeeded it to say accounts billable. Cool no problem, call OU Anna called me back, I explained to her what lab corp said she continued to tell me there was nothing she could do. There was no need for her to speak to lab corp! Lab corp was requesting to speak to someone at OU. Yet she refused to even hear them out to help fix a problem for a patient. UNACCEPTABLE! I asked her had this happened before? She said no, I then asked if this never happened why are you so reluctant to talk to lab corp! I would think you would want to learn just in case this happened again. This woman told me I’ve sent these a thousand times, as if a mistake couldn’t happen. I guess she isn’t human. Something happened I was told since my insurance couldn’t be billed I’d have to pay $1299.50. For the panel OU needed. I then reach out to the VA again, unlike ANNA they called lab corp. The VA had no problem reaching out to hear what was going on. The VA and Lab Corp collectively said whoever sent in the labs dropped the ball. Since labs are included in my referral sent to OU, OU should’ve put accounts billable. Accounts billable would allow me to get blood drawn under OUs account which then they would bill the insurance the VA uses. Just like OU bill the Va for every visit. It’s easy to get discouraged during this process, seeing that at this moment OU is the only option for reproductive services. The wait to get scheduled is well over 4 months. The nurses should be more than willing to help! After the VA spoke to lab corp, they switched it to account billable. Lab corp staff shouldn’t even have to compromise their job making changes that should’ve been sent in.

Staff was great and professional. 6-8 months to get diagnosis of problems. Then another 3-6 months for treatment to occur. Then started treatment 3-6months and IVF injections only to be told I should discontinue because treatment was not responding. A lot of false hope. Just a long drawn out processes over 2 years that was envasive, promising yet disheartening. A lot of appointments. Endless tests. Hormone treatments that mess you up. And no results. And a lot of money spent. With continuous bills for nothing. Very disappointed.

I dont think there is anyone at the front desk. Rarely does that phone get answered. You think reproductive medicine would know the importance of patients being able to contact someone. Guess not at OU. They just care about $$$$. Beyond frustrated.

Every time my wife and I walk in, we are greeted by smiling faces. The Staff, incredible. We have seen multiple different staff members, but it felt that they all were one team and on the same page. I am still getting bills for services from months ago that my insurance has paid. I have to tell them every single visit I am for PCOS treatment and not fertility. They always seem stunned when I tell them they need to reclassify the bill. I have called 3 separate times to which I have been told I have a zero balance. They tried to charge me $200 to draw up one tube of blood. They do not tell you about their costs and they definitely do not listen, it’s clear in the charts when it’s multiple people and names making the notes.

Im thankful for them for helping me have my daughter, and helping me with my current fertility journey but their no kid policy makes for stay at home moms with no family or friends around to watch your kid impossible to schedule. My husband has to take off work to watch our daughter, appointment times arent flexible AT ALL, they are almost always running late (15-30 minutes) but if you happen to run late by even a couple minutes one time you have to reschedule. I feel like they have no respect for your time. I also dont understand how they can make babies but dont allow them back into the office to sit in a stroller while you have your appointment.I wish I was able to go to a different place but this is the only one insurance helps with. I really hope I can have a successful pregnancy soon and never need to go back again.

Front desk service is the worst. I join my voice in support of the others to reaffirm this experience. I mean their front desk has never been great, but now its extensively horrid. I just spoke with Katie and weeks ago it was Melody. Katie was very catty today and quite rude. Melody was the same the last time I called and she cannot calculate. The last time I saw a Dr was late 2021 and she proceeded to say its been 3 years, how can it be 3 years in early 2023? While I corrected her that its not been 3 years, it was just over a year, she kept arguing with me that ist been 3 years and I let it go just to get scheduled. The anxiety you feel while talking to front desk is terrible. As others have said here, the Drs dont care for you as a person; often times getting to the root of a problem might help you get pregnant, but no, they just keep recommending procedures and doing nothing and dont change protocol regardless of underlying health conditions. One of the providers who will remain unnamed once told me- this is our protocol at OU. That protocol was hurting me and I almost died, almost had to call the ambulance and when I called the clinic crying in pain, the provider said, well maybe you are just adjusting to it and didnt offer sympathy or pain medicine. For the times I used their service, I had to advocate for myself a few times and it was hard to feel like they were listening. Imagine if a person cant speak English or have some health knowledge. I want to believe the Drs mean well but the environment isnt set up to do good work and see good results. Theres a reason they have bad reviews; sad to see an academic medical center perform consistently poorly in patient care and overall experience. Now a greater barrier awaits, the fear of calling front desk is real!!!

ALL Phone calls are horrible and rude. Anytime I called or got a phone call back, I felt demeaned and like I had interrupted the staff persons whole day by the cold and rude comments as well as tone of voice. This was with multiple calls, not the same person twice. When you do see staff they do come off as nice- initially. Polite and professional in manner but theres no personable interaction, zero connection. I felt just like an x number patient for them to usher me in then out as fast as possible once i wrote my check. There isnt a personal relationship at all, complete absence of communication about anything regarding your process, health, care, plans and no follow up, even no follow up to emails. They just send you off with very little information, or no information in my case, and what information is literally text book, or Google worthy. Nothing specific pertaining to my specific case, no conversation about tests, no follow up or information of what to do next. Just a bye, see you next month as if they expect nothing will happen anyway, but also with no instructions. It has been heartbreaking. I had one of my procedures where the nurse had to show and tell the Dr performing it what to do leaving me in a bad physical position. Maybe that is why my process failed. Then billing and charges were inconsistent and even though I paid at the time of service, I kept getting extra bills for things tacked on. Billing was super friendly to talk with but said there was nothing they could do and it all looked right by the end of our 45 minutes looking into my account. The inconsistencies of when the internet worked made paying at time of service inaccessible, unfair to the one sweet receptionist. For the type of heavy emotional and physically personal services provided, Id highly suggest finding someone who will truly connect with you like they care for you as a person, communicate all the details thoroughly, follow up, not be annoyed by questions or tell you I dont know as a medical answer. Be sure the place has a very transparent and honest billing process. I paid for the same 3 services and all 3 I was charged a different amount. Not to include the bills sent later for the add on. We were referred by military and I have let my pcm and the referral office know to take this office of their list for referrals. They do take our feedback seriously and find other places once we report problems with the places theyve referred us to and quickly find a new alternative or one by our suggestion.I can say some good- the parking was convenient, exam rooms werent freezing cold and the facility was exceptionally clean.

Update: I returned this year for a frozen embryo transfer (FET). The staff were just as amazing as in 2020. A few were even still there. I always received clear communication from my nurses and quick return calls, as needed. The one time I called the emergency number, I got a call back about 45 minutes later. I used Dr. Hansen again. He was terrific this time as well, though I will say Im not someone who wants coddling from my doctor. I just had my last ultrasound. Im due in April.I think a lot of people are just VERY sensitive when going through this horrible experience and feel they dont get enough compassion. Personally, I appreciated the balance of sympathy and efficiency myself.Original ReviewWe had a great experience with OU, even during Covid-19. I wont say it wasnt rough. It would have been difficult in a normal year, but everyone who worked with me was compassionate and understanding, while also being efficient. I rarely sat in the waiting area more than 10 minutes for my appointments and spent even less time waiting in the room. Dr. Hansen was amazing. He was just the right balance of professional and comforting, for me. Since its a teaching college, I often had to see other doctors and had students witness procedures a few times, but that was fine with me, if I got pregnant. I underwent two back-to-back IVF cycles in 2020 and Im glad I chose OU, because I got healthy twins and frozen embryos for the future. I cant recommend OU Infertility enough, if youre in this awful situation.

My husband and I “fired” our doctor here after have seen her for about 6 months. At that point, we had been trying to get pregnant for a little over a year. We were super excited and hopeful to finally get into the clinic. Those feelings quickly changed though. We have never been through this before so we did not know what to expect. What we got was a “diagnosis” of unexplained fertility. We tried 3 monitored cycles of clomid and 1 failed IUI before we came to our senses. I would go in for monitoring and tell the doctor I was having pain and one time she chalked it up to ovulation pain—even though I insisted I felt it all the time, not just at ovulation. The next time I told her, she told me I had a sensitive right ovary….I was shocked that a doctor was doing so little for her patient. Come to find out my “sensitive” ovary was endometriosis. Please listen to these other reviews when they say THESE DOCTORS DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOU. After being with our current doctor for less then a year, we’ve come so far. We have diagnoses that make sense and explains our infertility and are being treated appropriately! If you are looking to find the cause of your infertility and not just try to bypass it with medications and procedures, I suggest finding a NaPro doctor. They are trained to find the reason for your infertility and treat that.

The 2 stars are for the doctors that were amazing!we visited OU Health 10/11/22, with wife having an appointment time at 9:30 AM with Dr. H and myself having an appointment with Dr. Doolittle at 10:30 AM, the nurses and the doctors were just amazing! We are beyond happy with our first interaction with them and the care they provided in our first appointment. We read our paperwork and read the part where there was no children under 18 allowed, well we assumed that since we both had appointment certainly there was a waiting area for kids/teens or that the clinic would accommodate, we have a 13 year-old daughter. We seen areas for kids/teens at every hospital to accommodate parents. I was told that it was because of COV19, but also was told by Amy Flores is because kids just keep running around. So we came to the Appointment, but of course our assumption was wrong and we totally accepted that we messed up by assuming. Now, the problem I have is your front desk staff lack of sympathy, customer service training, and courtesy. The way Amarie directed herself to us was disrespectful and unprofessional, I told her my assumption that since we were both there that we assume she could be there and she is a teen. Amarie unprofessional tone of voice and demeanor was “ that is your problem, she cannot be here, and we said it in the emails”, let me tell you how she could show more sympathy to my situation, ma’m I see your assumption, but unfurtunally we cannot make that exception and our clinic policy is that no children under 18 can be at the appointment. She could use more customer service training in how to say things and not disrespect the clients that pay her job. Amarie way to handle things determine also if the patient feels disrespected and have to maybe ask for a supervisor…. Well we asked for a supervisor and Amy Flores came to say “I am sorry, we are not a daycare facility” well we just went from Amarie to Amy, from worse to the next level of disrespect! Is that the best phrase to use at with a patient at a FERTILITY clinic! I do not think so! Both need training and the reviews on google speak to the lack of training of your front desk. The doctors are great, but the staff for front desk are a mess and not qualified to do the job that is to deal with customers and be the first impression of a place. It seen this before, where the people that are actually doing the job(doctors) are kind and professional, but some of the ones doing supporting jobs like checking in, have no skills to even check people in. I see my mistake to make that assumption, but I think it could been handle better by both of your employees. I also asked Amarie for her name, and she refuse to give me her name, because I wanted to give this feedback. If you are in customer service and you are doing your job right, why reusing to give your name to a customer? I could not see her name on her shirt because most people I saw at the front desk had their badges facing back! What is that? That is unheard of someone at a frond desk refusing to give her name to a customer? We are forwarding this feedback because we want the experience of future patients to be better than ours, we are not upset but maybe disappointed that such people represent or are the first contact with the clinic, but we will move on and I hope you can provide future patients with a better experience.

Stay away from this place at all cost. I recently moved to OKC and made an appointment with one of their doctors. I made sure to transfer my records from my previous doctor and I kept calling them about once every week for a MONTH to ensure everything would be ready for my appointment. On the phone the ladies in the office had an attitude and did not seem compassionate, but I let it slide. The day of my appointment I show up and I am told they could not see me because I did not complete my new patient paper work ahead of time...I honestly felt like crying because this is such a sensitive thing to be dealing with and the fact that they would be so careless baffled me. I asked the front desk lady why I was not informed of this on the many times that I have called the office. She stated they had called me to discuss that plus my insurance. She was lying because I had called their office so many times, and not once did they mention that there was anything outstanding. I was looking forward to this appointment and to be rejected like that truly was vile. I refused to reschedule because if this is how I am treated on the first visit, I cannot trust them to care for me during such a sensitive time. I even began to wonder if the reason I was being treated this way was because of my skin color because not once have i ever been turned away from a Drs office due to not having my new patient paper work completed.

My wife and I had chosen this program to assist us in having a child. So we did 6 IUI sessions around $1000 a session. At first I asked if we could just jump straight to IVF because we had COBRA insurance for another 7 months that would cover reproductive services, but they didn’t want us to do that. Now we are around $7000 in with no child and our insurance covering these services is gone. When the IVF is around $15000 with better odds of conceiving, which we would now have to pay out of pocket for instead of it being covered under insurance. And here’s the kicker. They didn’t inform us that they have 3 billing offices, and we would need to make separate payments to the different billing offices and couldn’t just pay everything through them. Every time we had done an IUI session, we asked how much do we owe today. And every time the front office would say nothing your insurance covers everything. Then they turn us into the debt collectors saying we aren’t paying. Why would they do this to us. We went to them for help. Now they are hurting our credit score, and every one knows how hard it is to build credit but way too easy to drop it. We payed what they said we owed in full (excepted apparently to the wrong place). Then after paying the correct billing office in full they sent us to collection again over $19 dollars on my account when my wife has over $400 in credit with them because she over paid. After calling them to discuss the issue, they said if our account was already sent to collections, then there isn’t anything they can do about the hit to our credit. (“BEWARE OF THIS PROGRAM “)

Lab and tests cost money... its not fair to be charged and you dont ever get your results. I had a bone density x ray done... they made me call and have to go back to where it was done to inquire where its at..then they gave me another phone number to call other people who supposedly had it.... that was the first time. I had blood work ordered back in October 2021. . I still dont have those results... but Im being charged and money taken from me .and nobody seems to care or be sympathetic. Ive had to call labcorp a dozen times. I would not suggest them..unless you want to wait months or even never get your test results..

I have no idea what everyone else is talking about. It’s a partially state run facility which gives them very little room for customer service. We were referred there by the military clinic for issues not dealing with infertility. They were arrogant, cold, very displeased that we were even there and don’t like anyone calling them on their bull. After trying to dismiss us, we decided we made a mistake taking two days off to go down there when they had given us false information and said that they could accommodate our needs knowing full well that they couldn’t. When we got the bill in the mail I refused to pay it because had they been honest about their service capabilities we wouldn’t have wasted our time or theirs, and then trying to dismiss us when we had a religious accommodation request was the icing on the cake. When I called to explain why we wouldn’t be paying, Cami, the “director” (notice the quotation marks) was very polite when she knew she was being recorded, and did a 180 when she thought she wasn’t. She proceeded to rant for a solid 30 minutes about how wrong we were, how I was lying, how I had threatened the staff and all sorts of other garbage spewed from her mouth without ever even being at our meeting or having any knowledge of us whatsoever. It was like talking to an angry 3 year old. I called her manager but never received a call back. Not surprising if you look at their mission statement. It’s the worst excuse for a mission statement I have ever read. Basically, we vow to make sure we get paid for the mediocre treatment we provide. I leave this as a warning. It makes no difference to us since we have lots of options with literally all of them being infinitely better than OU, but hopefully this helps someone else. Especially military or Christian families. You have no friends there.

I had a terrible experience with OU. They weren’t listening to my symptoms and just wanted to push all of their procedures. Yes, I wanted to get pregnant. But I also wanted to find out why I couldn’t naturally after 4 years of trying. They swore I didn’t have endometriosis and blew me off when I asked about it. I did most of their procedures and never conceived. Six months later, I saw a new GYN who suspected endometriosis. He said there is no way to know you have it unless you have the surgery. He also said OU suggesting I don’t have it is ignorant bc only a surgery will tell you that. I just had the surgery and what do you know - endometriosis. Only go to OU if you have a tangible reason for why you can’t conceive. Don’t let them treat you for unexplained infertility. They just don’t care to have it explained. Their money comes from their own procedures, not a diagnosis.
