Dr. Amato is a world-class reproductive endocrinologist with a stellar reputation for providing cutting-edge fertility treatment, especially for the transgender community. She is an excellent clinician who is aware of all the nitty-gritty details required to provide fertility advice and perform fertility procedures. I highly recommend her for anyone seeking fertility assistance, particularly those who are members of the trans community!

We started seeing doctor Amato a couple years ago in order to trigger ovulation. The meetings seemed a little cold, it definitely didn’t feel personal, but that is fine.I finally had a pregnancy which ended in miscarriage. I definitely didn’t feel sympathy form the doctor, but that wasn’t necessarily important to me.A huge issue I had was I got rarely any spontaneous periods. I’d have to have them triggered and then take ovulation medicine which was a guessing game, because if I took the medicine at a time that my body wouldn’t naturally have a period, then the ovulation medicine would not work.Fast forward a couple of months, I got a very rare period all on my own.I called the office to get a dose of ovulation medicine. Despite begging because my period doesn’t come on its own nearly ever. Maybe once a year if I’m lucky, the doctor refused. She said she wanted me to get my vitamin D levels checked first at the lab. It was a long weekend and I wouldn’t have the ability to get to the lab, get the results back, and take the ovulation medicine in time. The doctor knew that. She also knew I was on a vitamin D supplement, and could’ve taken the medicine and checked my labs that following week. She refused to use labs I had gotten the previous few weeks at my primary care physician’s office.Their goal is not to have you get pregnant. It is a money driven business. There is no balance. I understand it’s about money too, but it shouldn’t be the main goal. When you get pregnant, it is over for them. They lose you as a patient. I felt like I lost my once a year chance to have a child due to something so trivial.Honestly there were issues this entire time. Every encounter felt stressful. They don’t prescribe this medicine until you start your cycle (day 1) but you have to start taking it at day 3 of your cycle. It’s almost impossible to get ahold of someone in time. Even with my chart. (This might be protocol for this medicine, so maybe I’m wrong with this part,) but it doesn’t change all the other negative encounters we’ve had.We wasted years and thousands of dollars.Steer clear.

I have been meeting with Dr Amato for a month now and I honestly cant say enough great things. Although this is not what I had expected to go through in order to conceive but I am so grateful for her knowledge and support. Its only been ONE month and she already has all my screening complete and a plan set in place. The nurses and staff are amazing as well!! I am extremely pleased with everything! :)
