Dr. Lus Acupuncture & Massage Clinic

Not very clean, shabby office area - no element of the Asian influence. Given a red button call device for help when left alone in the room, but multiple pushes on the button brought NO response in the 20 minute resting time with needles all over me!Room was very cold, leaving me tense and not able to relax as one should when stuck full of needles. Will never go back there!

Dr. Lu is an amazing and caring Doctor. I had many test and procedures done to see what was causing my cough. I was told I had acid reflux it was ruining my life it was effecting my work and felt uncomfortable being in public coughing all the time. After only a couple of acupuncture treatments and drinking the herbal tea that he prescribed to me my cough is under control. Im now enjoying life going places and doing things that I want. Doctor is a kind caring man who listen to me when I was telling him my symptoms. I just cant stop telling my friends and family what he has done for me. He is already helping some of my friends. Thank you Dr. Lu may you continue healing your patients.

I went to see Dr Lu for pain and discomfort. He did a thorough assessment and although I only had two treatments, I felt like my body regained some balance and some relief from the discomfort. Dr Lu is kind and a good listener. He is also an expert in Chinese herbal medicine. He prescribed a combination of herbs to help my body heal and raise my chi and I know it has helped! Thank you Dr. Lu!

Dr. Lu and his team are excellent professionals. I went there for about 3 months and the service always was excellent. They really care about their patients. You can feel the change in your body. Unfortunately I couldnt continue treatment because I moved out of town. However, I texted him to consult something and he texted me back so quickly even though Im not his patient. I recommend this clinic 100%.

I have seen Dr. Lu (review to follow)..the reply from Dr. Lu below was for a rating that was somehow under my name --I did not submit a review and there were 3 stars left (default as it tracked that I was there?) Unfortunately, because the injury I last visited Dr. Lu for was a work injury and our insurance did not cover his office at the time, I was unable to continue at that time.I was treated by his office for an earlier injury and have the highest regard for the treatment I received. I still continue to recommend this office to others -- both the massage and acupuncture were wonderful and Dr. Lu personally checked in on my progress regularly. Prior to seeing him, I had 3 months of physical therapy and was worried about returning to my job, as I have several hours active on my feet and several hours desk work daily--both which were incredibly painful. One visit: immedate relief. Less than 2 weeks: stellar improvement. I (with very minute exceptions) returned fully to my job, and also got the bonus of much-improved sleep.

Tri west made an appointment for a certain day. Somehow, ?Dr Lu? Called my mom’s phone instead of mine, informing me to call to schedule an appointment. I called the next morning and spoke with Dr Lu who stated I didn’t have an appointment on that day but went ahead and scheduled me for an appointment on a different day without informing me it would be with someone else. I show up and had an interaction 3 times with a young man who never identified himself. That same young man takes me back to a treatment room and I finally ask him if he was Dr Lu. He finally identified himself as Dean, Dr Lu’s associate. I found the entire process with this office very unprofessional from the beginning.

I have been seen in this clinic for a few months now and the care and expertise these people give is amazing.I have a job injury on my shoulder and nothing seems to relieve it but acupuncture and massage.I have been seen by 2 staff both very different styles but both excellent care.Thank you Dr Lu, Dean and kaylee.Sorry if I miss spelled your name.The staff listens to me and my body and I feel Im actually a person the not just a number.Thanks again

Went for an acupuncture appointment followed by a 30 min massage. First off, I specifically asked for a woman but was given a man (which I wasnt comfortable with). Then we start the accupuncture and he rubs around my shoulder and neck/arm (the whole time Im laying on my back) and over the course of 20 mins places the needles. Leaves and comes back 15 mins later, removes the needles and tells me Im done. I never received the back massage I originally made the whole appointment for! I never even laid on my stomach. He said the massage was while he was finding the spots to place the needles....he didnt get to my back....WHICH WAS THE WHOLE REASON I MADE THE APPOINTMENT. I have had this same service from here years ago and it was so much better. I made a whole accupuncture appointment to get a massage and my back was literally never touched! I have never been more disappointed by an appointment like this before and I will never come back.

Mind blown!Finally a real Doctor.He visits YOU. He listens to YOU, and he HELPS YOU.I have been suffering from Crohns since I was 14 (now 45). Been in hospitals in many different countries. No one ever able to help the healing process. At its best, I was able to manage pain for a few years, until it became so bad I was scared I would loose my life. Barely able to eat, energy so low I could hardly walk to my car at times. Dr. Lu helped me so much I have had my first WHOLE MONTH pain and SYMPTOMS free. It makes me cry. I had lost all hope. Now I am able to get hope back. I can walk for a few miles with my dogs again. I am not calling in sick at work ones a week anymore. Actually I have not called in sick once this month!I am making projects for my future again.This is worth everything!

I started seeing Dr. Lu very recently, and I must say he is fabulous! I have had back pain for 8+ years and although Ive seen him just a couple of times, the pain is nearly all gone! He is a great doctor and he really knows what he is doing!! He is kind and very intellectual. This has become my favorite place to go to! :-)

Did a great job helping me with shoulder pain

For the last month I traveled from eugene to Portland every weekend to see Dr. Lu for my hip problems. Though traveling long distance was taxing, I must say that Dr. Lu’s skilled treatments really helped me to improve my condition after stuck in my recovery for quite a long time. He is a very kind and caring doctor who made time in his busy schedule to fit me in on Saturdays. I really appreciate all he has done to help me. I wish he practices in Eugene!

I am being treated by Dr. Lu for migraine and tension headache and have had significant improvement (75% reduction in frequency) of this condition for the first time in 20 years. Prior to seeing Dr. Lu, I underwent therapy at other clinics without improvement in my symptoms. The combination of acupuncture and tuina massage has been excellent. Dr. Lu and his team are clearly outstanding at what they do.

I had gotten in a terrible accident and always suffered from terrible back pain. Nothing worked- medications, the braces nothing. I feared that I’d have to quit my job. But then my friend told me about Dr. Lu and I must say I was reluctant at first, but after my first visit, I got relief. I always tell everyone Dr. Lu gave me my life back. It’s been a year and I can honestly say I am pain free.

I went to see Dr. Lu at his Stark Street location for neck pain that I had been having for several months. Dr. Lu used a combination of acupuncture and massage. After my first visit I had pain relief and my range of motion was almost back to normal. Dr. Lu is extremely gentle and explains everything that he is doing, I felt extremely comfortable in his care.

I was born with a sever birth defect called myelomeningocele and had about a 30-40 chance of walking normal after my surgery at 5 days old. I made it through the surgery being able to walk normally. But then at the age of 14 I started losing sever sensitivity in my legs and back from a spinal tethered cord do to myelomeningocele, 6 month fs away from being paralyzed, and had about 50/50 % chance of walking with surgery. After my surgery I was able to walk normally, but after a few months I started losing sensitivity again, and really fast.I went to get an MRI and my neurosurgeon missed a huge piece of tethered cord and I was in need of another surgery. My parents were not up for another surgery do to the risks. So my mom heard acupunctures and massages could help possibly help with the pain. So we googled places that do acupunctures and saw that Dr. Lu ( SE PORTLAND) had about 20+ years of experience with doing acupunctures and massages and that he did this study in China. So we decided to go see him, which was one of the best decisions we have ever made. After 8 treatments of 30min acupunctures and 30min of massages and drinking the herbs he prescribed from me at the school he teaches, all my pain has disappeared, and I have full sensitivity in my legs and back. As a 17 year old girl being given another chance to have a normal life and walk again and walk normally without anymore surgeries and mistakes from surgeons, I give Dr. Lu and his staff a huge thanks!! I highly recommend him with ANY KIND OF PROBLEMS YOU MAY HAVE! He is a very educated and smart doctor who knows what he is doing and is great at what he does!

I came to Dr. Lu as a referral from a friend who had a bone spur problem in C-7 right side. I had the same problem 23 years ago but had surgery to repair the problem. It took two years for complete healing. My friend was treated by Dr. Lu with acupuncture, Tuina massage, and Chinese medicine. His rehabilitation took less then 3 months.I drive for an executive car service, which has me sitting for hours on end. I drove a high profile passenger from Portland to Seattle non stop in a tense condition which overstress a muscle. Within 10 days it was almost impossible for me to stand from a sitting position.. Dr. Lu treated me with acupuncture and Tuina massage and within 24 hours I had no pain and could preform all movements.I normally refrain from the use of the word Miracle, however Dr. Lus results certainly fall into that category.

The procedure itself hurt which I am told should not have been the case, it should be relatively painless. Very aggressive and painful, left alone under a heat lamp for 20 minutes in spite of telling the guy I was hot. I was suffered from heat stoke and couldnt get up from the table since I hurt so bad and was nauseated. Temporary relief of the pain in my neck, two weeks later its back and worse.

A few months ago, I began the endeavor to heal lymes disease and a variety of other associated symptoms which had manifested from both physical and psychological hang ups. I wanted to receive acupuncture, despite being initially afraid of needles, and my only real preference for treatment was that it was given by someone who knows, within their heart, the origins and intricacy of this mode of healing. I found Dr. Lu, and the feeling I have for this is I suppose what some might call grateful, but I believe it goes beyond words. Since receiving his treatments, along with occasional Tui-na massage, I can actually feel my blood circulating to areas of my body that had gone numb or cold over time. Lymes disease is such that the symptoms are vast and it is common to experience the run around of trying to treat various symptoms and feeling no actual healing occurs. Acupuncture from Dr. Lu had actually inspired a sense of transformation in me, that when I left the office my mind and energetic body was clarified, and I was able to interact with life in a direct way as distractions of pain dissipated. I have seen many acupuncturists, and I can say with confidence that Dr. Lu not only offers authentic treatment and knowledge of the bodys systems, but also his genuinity allows for trust to blossom within the patient and it is clear that both parties are interested in the most effective and appropriate treatment for integrating into a clearer, smoother relationship with life.

I came to Dr. Lu for a prostate infection. His acupuncture treatment was very effective in reducing the pain and resolving the infection. His staff was thorough and supportive. He was punctual and very efficient. I recommend him as a very good doctor of acupuncture.

I went to see Dr. Lu for an Ulcerative Colitis flare up. Three treatments with prescribed herbs and Im good to go. He was accurate in diagnoses, gentle with needle placement and removal, and effective. I will return to him should I have another flare up. Thanks!

When I went to see Dr. Lu, I had a difficult time walking, I couldnt put my socks on or just taking care of regular business ( if you know what I mean) . In one week Dr. Lu worked on me twice. I am now putting on my socks.
