My experience here from my first visit to the birth of my son last December exceeded my Husband and my expectations. The midwife and nurse team are very kind and respectful. They assist and offer the perfect amount of care during labor and delivery. The Nurse home visit that happens 24-48 hrs after Baby is born is really special too.I hope to have all of my babies here!Thank you RMC team! You all are amazing

I had an incredible experience working with the midwives and all the staff at the center. The center offers excellent care for women and so many resources. I will forever be grateful for Lucy and Tammy for helping me achieve the birth of my dreams with my second baby.

My experience at Reading Midwife Center was the best healthcare experience I’ve had. The level of care and compassion from every midwife and every nurse is just incredible, and the support they provided before, during and after the birth was far beyond my expectations. From helping with breastfeeding to providing practical and emotional support during the vulnerable postpartum days to answering all of the questions along the way at all hours, I can’t thank this team enough for supporting me through my first experience of motherhood.

We are grateful for the caring and compassionate approach The Center provides; choosing to birth at your location was one of the best decisions we made for our daughters entrance into the world. I highly recommend the Reading Midwife Center. Lucy and Tammy have delivered both of my babies in my home and I could not be more grateful for their skilled and gentle care. I appreciate many things about them, their staff, and the atmosphere they have created surrounding pregnancy and childbirth but I especially appreciate their advocacy for natural birth while taking all of the necessary precautions. I feel very safe in their care and trust them to always do what is best for me and my family. They are kind, gentle, and compassionate. Also, appointments never feel rushed which can be hard to find in healthcare right now.

I had Tammy as my midwife for my birth, but I also saw Lucy during my appointments. This center is amazing. I loved my entire experience from appointments to laboring at the birth center, to eventually transferring to the hospital. I needed a c section, but I know every measure was taken to avoid it while keeping baby and I safe. I have a healthy baby girl. I love that Tammy never seems concerned, she lets you follow your instincts as long as youre safe. I felt comfortable and very well taken care of. If you want a less stressful labor and delivery and the feeling of caring support this is the place for you.

Wow. What can I really say…I admire the women who are in charge of this facility because they have truly made this passion into their life’s work. Tammy and Lucy are so experienced, informative, and caring! Walking into the birthing center, you are immediately greeted by the best receptionist, Casey, who is always friendly and has a smile. The environment is extremely calming to me, well the best it can be as I have a fear of anything doctor related, but they treat you like family. They really are there to listen to you and help to support you with what YOU want to do with your birth journey. Tammy did an amazing job with assisting me in the birth of my daughter, and Deb was there as an amazing nurse to oversee me afterwards. They send someone to your house the very next day to check in and Anna was helpful in getting my baby to really latch on for breastfeeding. I would recommend them all to anyone who even had only a single thought of having an out of hospital birth. The thing I loved the most was that I was able to go home shortly after giving birth! My daughter was born at 7am and we were home by noon. I am forever grateful for all the staff I have encountered there for helping to bring my favorite little girl into this world and for overseeing and making sure we were healthy afterwards.

I couldnt have asked for a better experience! This is going to be a long review because I literally have nothing but the best things to say about this birth center.First off, Id like to start by saying that this place feels like home. Its THAT comfortable and cozy.So Last October, I found out I was pregnant with my first child. I live a pretty natural/holistic lifestyle and I have never been too fond of hospitals. For years, I always found natural and physiological birth fascinating and beautiful. So when I found out I was expecting, I started my search for a midwife. Thankfully, I found this fabulous group of women!Tammy and Lucy were incredibly knowledgeable and walked me and my husband through every detail, every step of the way. No stone was left unturned and we felt as prepared as humanly possible to have our baby.Lucy was our primary midwife throughout my pregnancy and she helped bring our precious baby boy into the world.The most important thing to me is that these incredible women make you feel important and cared about 100% of the time. Our wants and needs were respected and we always felt comforted and reassured.When it came to delivery day, Lucy walked me through timing my contractions so I could come in at the perfect moment. Once we got to the birth center, Lucy took us to our room and helped us settle in.I had a completely unmedicated birth, Most of which was spent in a birth pool. I never felt rushed nor was I ever forced to push. As I got closer to meeting our baby - Lucy coached me through breathing, used essential oils and light massage during strong contractions and applied pressure to my lower back and hips to help our baby into this world.Once he arrived, he was immediately laid on my chest and left undisturbed for a while so we could give all the love and attention to our new baby.All in all, everything went according to plan and better than ever expected. A full day of unmedicated labor, no chaos, just my husband and midwife in the room with me, and absolutely ZERO trauma to my body, mind or baby!I am still in complete awe over how amazing our entire experience was.I will hands down recommend them to anyone expecting, any day!So huge thank you to Lucy, Tammy and the rest of the ladies at the Reading Midwife Center! 💜

After a very traumatic hospital birthing experience with my first child, I began to look for other options for the prenatal care and delivery of my second baby. I had a few friends recommend I look into birthing with a midwife in a birthing center. Some of those friends specifically mentioned the Reading Midwife Center, as they had delivered babies with them. From the very first appointment, I could tell that God had led me to a place where I could deliver my baby the way I was meant to-- In a calm, home-like environment, with people who truly cared and would only intervene when truly necessary. Lucy was the midwife who helped me bring my little girl into the world last month, and I have only good to say about her and the entire experience. I couldnt imagine a birth going any more smoothly than it did. My husband and I were thrilled with the Reading Midwife Center and all of the kind, capable, talented staff!

It has taken me forever to sit down and write this review (I had my baby here 5 months ago) but I feel so strongly about this place, I have to share. This is hands down, top-notch women’s healthcare. Years ago I ventured down the journey of becoming a mother to my first born child. Having hearing my fair share of birth horror stories from well-meaning relatives, like many of us do, I went down the path of searching for a better way. I lived in South Carolina at the time, and had an attachment right away to the Charleston Birth Place. Two successful birth stories at the CBP later, my family and I decided to make the move up to Pennsylvania to be closer to family. When I found out I was pregnant with my third baby a year later, I panicked. I had no clue where to go for maternity care! And with birth centers so few and far between, I was actually blessed to discover that The Reading Midwife Center was only 1.5 hours away. It seems far but I was so grateful. From the very beginning of my experience, Casey at the front desk was so sweet over the phone and I immediately felt welcome. The rest to follow was marvelous. Every appointment made me feel more secure, safe, and seen by my birth team. The Reading Midwife Center is not fluorescent lights and white lab coats, it is a HOME. Which we know is so important for a woman to feel safe and secure in their birthing environment. The birthing experience itself was so incredibly beautiful, I had to pull Tammy away from the annual picnic and I still feel bad, but she was so nice about it, lol! They really cover all the bases to make sure you’re comfortable and at ease, with calm wisdom and patience. At the end of my birth, Tammy said to me “Thank you for letting me be a part of your birth.” And that really stuck with me. I wasn’t a number. I was a woman, moving through a very normal experience, who just needed support through the process. Despite the birth going so well, I had a difficult time postpartum and these ladies were truly there for me even beyond the birth experience. The Reading Midwife Center truly provides a magnificent, one of a kind, model of care FOR women, and will always hold a special place in my heart.

I had my first baby with RMC last week and it was an incredible experience! My husband and I both felt so well supported by all the staff throughout the entire pregnancy, labor and delivery, and postpartum visits. I highly recommend RMC to anyone interested in natural childbirth!

I was privileged to be able to have three of my 4 children under these wonderful ladies care- when the Reading Birth Center was under Tower Health. Tammy was there as I labored long with my first, and Lucy caught my second. The homey setting of the center, the truly personal attention they give doesnt leave you feeling like just a number in a queue, all alone to figure it out. When I had to switch care due to insurance with my last baby, I realized how blessed I had been- especially to have been able to be under their care as a new mom. Theres just so much you dont know with that first pregnancy.

My first child, Bella, was born at the midwife center. I felt so loved, respected and supported throughout my pregnancy, birth and postpartum care. Hospitals have always been daunting to me and I had a great deal of fear at the thought of giving birth in that environment. When I heard about the Reading Midwife Center for Women’s Wellness, I felt such relief. Birth is such a vulnerable experience and the midwives made me feel supported, safe and cared for in the most intimate moments of my journey. Everyone is so kind at the center, the environment is so welcoming, I was never intimidated to visit and my whole birth experience was just the way it should be. I can’t imagine going through my birth without them. Forever grateful!

I highly recommend Lucy, Tammy, and the Reading Midwife Center to anyone looking for skilled and compassionate care for pregnancy, labor, and beyond. I received my prenatal care for the second half of my pregnancy at the center and had my baby there in July 2021. The staff, from the front desk to the nurses and midwives, are all responsive and knowledgeable. They take their time during appointments to ensure that all questions and concerns are addressed, and the care I received during labor and birth were outstanding. I also took a childbirth education class with Jodie Whitcombe of Your Birth Haven Doula Services at the center and highly recommend her and the class as well!

This center is absolutely fantastic. Tammy delivered my now-5 year old, and I saw both Tammy and Lucy for checkups with my most recent child. They both truly cared about me as a person, and always had time to hear my thoughts or answer my questions. They didn’t ever rush me out of appointments. I felt heard. I highly recommend the Reading Midwife Center for Women’s Wellness!

I highly highly recommend the Reading midwife birthing Center for the best OB experience! If you are tired of feeling like a number within the Baby boom of society this center is for you! Your care at the birthing center is so personalized & intimate for you & your partner! I have gone to the midwives at this center since I moved here in 2016, and have since had two beautiful home births with Lucy as my midwife. During birth I felt safe, calm and cared for. I have also attended births at the birth center as a doula with my clients since my home birth experiences... The facility where you go for appointments (and birth center births) is comforting and homey. Each staff member is truly dedicated to making you feel educated, empowered and able to take the lead in your own wellness and birth. I recommend the Reading Midwife Center for any GYN services, pregnancy/birth services, and education services to everyone I know. Loved the care I received here!! Although I ended up having a hospital birth, Lucy was there to deliver my baby. So greatful for her help and knowledge!! First choice for any and all my future pregnancies!!

I cant recommend this place enough. Lucy delivered my second beautiful baby! If I could go back and have my first one again,I would totally go here. The ladies were so friendly and knew what they were doing. It was so much more relaxed then my hospital experience was. I hope to be able to go here for the rest of my babies!
