Sadly, the negative reviews are spot-on. I didn’t know true desperation until I dealt with this place.1. Lab miss scheduled: I arrived at 7 a.m., only to be told the nurse never booked it—because, apparently, placing an order with the lab is optional when scheduling a test.2. Redundant tests galore: Same tests, again and again before treatment starts, even when nothing has changed like Monday and Wed same tests. (Time and money well spent... if you enjoy wasting both.) I wanted to confront the doctor, but she always skirts around the issue. Its clear she knows theres a problem but is afraid to admit it.3. Bloodwork, they say, but what’s actually being tested? Who knows! Just show up like a lab rat and hope for the best.4. Impatient lab personnel: Want to read before signing? Prepare to be rushed and jabbed in places needles shouldnt go. They said I was waisting their time.5. Teamwork at its finest: doctors, nurses, and lab staff in a never-ending blame game. Miscommunication is the norm, but why fix it when finger-pointing is more fun?6. Results? HA! Zero progress. Should’ve escaped this circus sooner.

This review is long overdue, we had a wonderful results working with Dr.Vitiello and team. Our older son was successful on our second try and our younger son was successful in one try. (They are now 2.5yr old and 6 months old).Dr Vitiello is very knowledgeable and professional. IVF is a long and complicated process with so many lab visits required (to make sure the best timing to do the transfer).During our first time attempt, at times we were confused by lack of direction or conflicting directions and we had to frequently call for further instructions but the team was very helpful. You will need to check the portal for next step and appointments as well. I wished there were more clear information especially for the first time with egg extraction etc. Overall, Dr.Vitiello and team is amazing and I definitely recommended.

If I could give FCNE Reading, negative stars, I would! They are completely unprofessional, incompetent and lack accountability. They mishandled my embryos so badly, that the practitioner told me over the phone that genetic testing might not be possible, but they were going to try. Nothing was communicated in writing. Well what do you know, the tests came back as genetically non-viable and then they destroyed the embryos before calling me to tell me the bad news. I spent tens of thousands of dollars because my insurance does not cover fertility treatments. For them to be so flippant about how they handle embryo samples is gross negligence. Notice that they are only responding to the positive reviews. This silence on negative feedback suggests a dismissive attitude towards customer concerns and a lack of interest in improvement. Ask yourself: What are they hiding? Do they truly value their customers? Organizations that engage with both positive and negative reviews, demonstrate transparency and a commitment to addressing issues. Too bad we women do not have legal recourse to sue in such situations, we are at the mercy of these kinds of facilities. Do not risk your familys future with them

Absolutely horrible care, negligent, greedy. I asked for a refund for my last transfer because they didnt even have working lights in the room, or an ultrasound tech. Both really import things for this procedure. FCNE says this is fine, and doesnt violate their standards. Seriously? When i complained about the terrible care i have received, i got threatened.

After several unsuccessful IVF, we were able to conceive on the first attempt with FCNE at the age of 40. We worked with Dr. Vitiello, who gave us hope and step by step process. After the egg retrieval, the embryo transfer was planned for 5th day but unfortunately the eggs weren’t in blastocyst stage. We were worried but doctor suggested to wait for another day as some eggs take a while and the eggs made it blastocyst on sixth day. 2 Eggs were planted and out of which we got our daughter. We just delivered her couple of weeks before. Thank You FCNE and all the nurses.

We had a wonderful experience at FCNE, attending the Reading office and also Atrius facilities. All the staff are lovely, particularly the nurses (thanks to Emily for all her help). When we met with Dr Weiss, he listened and came up with a clear plan that was executed quickly. No delays with testing or appts and anyone we came across was always helpful and compassionate. The process is streamlined, lots handled through the app but if you need help you can always call and someone will talk through the details. I could tell that everyone was rooting for us and we had a wonderful experience at FCNE!

I would not recommend FCNE. They have already ruined my trust and confidence in their practices in our first handful of interactions.First, they advertise a free initial consult for individuals without fertility insurance. They then billed me for the visit after both I and their office confirmed prior to my initial visit that my insurance does not cover infertility treatment. When asked, they stated the EOB they received indicated it was covered but deductible not yet met; they would not provide me with a copy of the EOB they received. My insurance confirmed FCNE were sent the same EOB I received, which clearly states it was denied as a non-covered service. FCNE billing just told me basically its not their problem and to talk to my insurance.Second, when asked how I could file a formal complaint regarding the above, the billing representative first said she didnt know how and Id just have to search their website, and then outright lied to me (told me to use the contact us option in the website footer and select complaint option from the drop-down; no such option exists).Third, on my very first in person visit to their new Falmouth office for diagnostic testing, their technician was over 2.5 hours late and the only solution offered (after several attempts to reach anyone in the main office) was to drive to their Portsmouth NH office. Another patient waiting with me said this was the second time this has happened (out of two visits). They called us back some 20 minutes later and said the technician would be there after all (2 hrs after the original scheduled appointment time); we went back and waited another 40 minutes before she did arrive. Also, since this office is otherwise unstaffed, we had to wait on the floor in the hallway (currently a construction zone!) The only acknowledgement we received was an apology call later in the day, with no information on any proactive plans made to avoid this happening again.

This review is long overdue and is the only review that Ive ever written that I can truly say is being shared with my whole heart: Dr. Vitiello and the entire FCNE care team deserves 10 out of 5 stars, if Google would allow for it. I had originally felt apprehensive about turning to FCNE to help with our family planning journey due to the negative reviews, and Im so happy that I didnt let them dissuade me from seeking their care, as it wouldve been the mistake of my life.Since I could write an entire dissertation about the many reasons why I have such immense gratitude for Dr. Vitiello and the FCNE team - from the world-class fertility and genetic expertise, to the deeply compassionate and family-like ultrasound technician and embryologist team, to the billing departments hard work and prioritization of the patients needs, and so much more - Ill keep it as short as possible and say that I never once felt like a number to the team, I never once felt that money was prioritized over my needs and care, and I never once experienced anything that made me wonder about whether or not I was receiving quality and me-focused care. If anything, they responded more punctually to my many questions and calls more than my closest family does...and with so much understanding and support, no less!Infertility is immensely hard, and Dr. Vitiello and her brilliant mind, stellar experience (have you looked up her credentials?!), kind heart and welcome humor made the experience so much less so. While the process IS stressful and the medications and medication/insurance process stressful as well (not due to FCNE, but due to the sheer nature of the process itself), I never once had stress because of my care. Never once. In fact, they went above and beyond to support my needs - even going so far as to scheduling an ultrasound for me days before Christmas when I was in-between their care and OBGYN care, and after THEY enabled our IVF process to end in success and couldve easily said weve done our part/youre discharged - and I know thats not the case for other clinics.I really cannot stress how excellent Dr. Vitiello is. Shes the reason that were pregnant with our miracle baby. Shes the reason why Im approaching 18 weeks pregnant despite X chromosome mosaicism, autoimmunity (Long COVID), and a litany of other fertility-affecting conditions. Shes the reason, and her team of kind-hearted practitioners are the reason why I will be returning to FCNE for all future IVF needs, body-allowing.FCNE is the best it gets. I recommend them to all who prioritize true clinical expertise and patient-centered care, and cannot sing their praises enough.P.S. In addition to Dr. Vitiello, Kathleen (ultrasound) is an angel on Earth, and if youre reading this: thank you for being the most loving, caring, and beautiful soul. Your energy and support did more for me than I will ever be able to say, and Im just so grateful that you were part of my IVF journey.

Excellent, 5 stars!!I went to this center on the recommendation of a friend who had her IVF treatment (successful) with Dr. Hill and before starting to consult I read all these reviews and I admit that I felt insecure because of the negative comments about the bad experiences with the center. But speaking from my experience that is why I decided to write this review. In my situation I also chose the IVF process with Dr. Hill, the appointments were virtual and everything was very professional and ethical. Every time we saw each other it was very clear and positive. Her team is spectacular, always attentive, clear and empathetic. Her nurses are all loving (especially Karhleen Cullen ❤️).I can say about the center that everyone I had contact with was very nice, including the laboratory staff (fast and efficient service), they are very punctual and the wait is short.I got pregnant on the 1st. Round of the process and my baby is now 6 weeks old 😍. A healthy baby thanks to this center. I had a pregnancy without complications and with a positive experience of the entire Prenatal and postpartum process.Recommendation, go to this center!

I want to thank the FCNE reading location for everything they helped me with for a little bit over a year. You were so kind to me. Im beyond grateful for having been referred to Dr. Weiss and his team. I honestly didnt think that given my condition I would be able to get pregnant, but they proved me wrong. Im 6 weeks and 5 days pregnant, and I cant still believe it. I also want to give Kathleen Collins (from ultrasound-not sure if Im spelling her name right) a huge THANKS for being so kindhearted to me when I needed it the most. Shes one of the most loving medical staff members I ever met. I dont know if she realizes the difference she made during my treatment. Thank you!

The negative reviews are unfortunate because I can truthfully say that my experience at FCNE Reading was positive. The staff was always responsive to my questions and concerns. Dr Vitiello was phenomenal to work with and her expertise was evident from day 1 (not to mention, her candor and humor made the IVF process much more bearable). Every visit, I felt comfortable and was treated with kindness; Amber, Kimberly, and Kathleen were a few of the many standout staff. I would recommend FCNE to anyone struggling to conceive. We trusted Dr Vitiello, followed her guidance, and have a success story because of it.

Do not take your business here unless you want to support an institution that uses discriminatory practices.I contacted Fertility Centers of New England to schedule a virtual consult for medicinal treatment of male infertility, a condition their website says they treat.I received an email response from Mary Kelley-Webber. She had the following information about me: my Hispanic name, my address, and that I was seeking treatment for male infertility.I requested medicinal treatment for male infertility, but in response, Mary Kelley-Webber focused on my wifes weight, and my financial status. Specifically, she let me know that they would not be able to treat me if my wife was over 38% body fat, and reminded me that IVF treatment was very expensive by listing the prices for all kinds of services that I neither needed nor requested. I reminded her that I was seeking medicinal treatment for male infertility, not IVF treatments. She then denied me an appointment. My condition is not expensive to treat (medication is cheap), nor does my wife need to be thin in order for me to receive the medication that corrects it. Mary Kelley-Webber should know this, assuming that she is not grossly incompetent to do the job for which she was hired. When I told the companys CEO, Joseph Hill, that I thought Mary Kelley-Webber was implying that my Latina wife was expected to be (stereotypically) fat and that I was expected to be (stereotypically) poor, and that she was capriciously denying me treatment, he did not reply. Another employee, Ann Therrien, extended an offer for me to make an appointment, but when I accepted the offer, I didnt receive a response. Also, do not believe the company when they tell you that they offer virtual consultations. Before Mary started focusing on my wifes weight and my ability to afford various treatments that I wasnt requesting, she wanted me to commit to traveling to Reading, MA. I had to keep reminding her that their website offers virtual consultations, but this did not seem to change anything.I do not recommend this business. Imagine what it would be like if you end up having a problem with your treatment, and this is how they respond to you. Again, do not take your business here unless you want to support an institution that uses discriminatory practices.

IF I COULD GIVE ZERO STARS I WOULD! After waiting an hour and a half to be seen Dr. Hill kicks patients out of their appointments simply because they have brought current child with them- despite NO rule in place in writing ANYWHERE nor even a verbal request To please not bring children to appointments. For all he knows said child is a positive example of successful fertility treatments!!! Kicked out!!!????? This practice is flagrantly demeaning, insulting and unprofessional. Do not go here

We have had an awful experience with FCNE. beyond the disorganization, poor communication, and at times impatient and hostile staff, we experienced acute discrimination as a queer couple seeking to build a family. because of this awful experience we met with another clinic at a public hospital. the experiences were like night and day. at FCNE we were left without a plan or coordination and little information on how to get the care we needed. we were milked for every dollar and treated like an inconvenience when we needed help. there were regular mistakes and oversights by the staff, and no follow up from management when concern were raised. at the new clinic we have already received more information and support and kindness in 20 min than we experienced in over a year with FCNE. everyone and especially if you are a queer family i would recommend to avoid this business.

I have been a patient of Dr. Hills for almost 5 years. I was TERRIFIED to go to a clinic, terrified of IVF and desperate for a baby. Dr.Hill was patient and kind and understanding. He seemed so smart and gentle and kind. He instantly made my husband and myself feel a sense of calm and that pregnancy would happen for us. We successfully had 1 baby and I am so happy to report that as of today I am officially pregnant with baby 2. These babes would not exist without Dr. Hill and his staff. Everyone from the people who draw blood to the techs who do the early morning ultrasounds are so kind and caring. They respond in the portal so fast and are so kind and gentle, I have emailed so many times a day, worried about this or that and they always were so nice to me. There are no words to express how much gratitude I have for Dr. Hill and his staff. I have been seen at Reading MA and Portsmouth NH and both were amazing. Thank you so much for everything you have done for my family, I can never express enough gratitude.

Im writing this with a heavy heart. Many of the staff @ FCNE have been professional and courteous. Unfortunately, the actions of a few have forced my hand.Im very disappointed in FCNE at the current time. Earlier this year, FCNE withheld blood test results from my wife and I which resulted in panic and potential risk. While it turned out to be a false positive (due to an error, likely by their lab partners), all responsibility was put on my wife and me to get retested (at considerable expense) in order to resume treatment. I am especially disappointed with our physician, who was especially condescending throughout the process. For such a delicate topic / process, some professional behavior would have been appreciated. Unfortunately, my concerns fell on deaf ears and the efforts of many professional nurses / staff were offset by FCNEs blame the patient for our mistake attitude. Would recommend seeking treatment elsewhere.

Wonderful experience for my wife and I, culminating with our beautiful baby boy born last month! After wasting time with another doctor in Boston at a large IVF center where we felt like a number, we immediately felt at seen and heard with Dr. Plante. She put us completely at ease with her calm demeanor. We did not feel rushed, we asked all the questions we wanted, and we were guided through how the entire process would work (medically, financially, and emotionally). I cant recommend them enough.

Very frustrating experience. We were basically told we’d get pregnant when it was our time, after not trying to prevent on our own for 10 months, and actively tracking and trying for 8 months. The doctor told us she would just be here for moral support as it would probably happen once they got involved (I don’t feel morally supported in case you were wondering). We had our first contact in early December, had a semen analysis late December. Still haven’t been contacted for results despite me asking about them only to be told the doctor would reach out regarding them as they feel it’s better for the doctor to share the results in person. I also requested the results be sent to a urologist thinking it would prompt someone to, I don’t know, maybe have that doctor reach out. No, nothing.I felt not listened to when I explained I didn’t want to have costly tests done on me for no reason (as I had already been tested before) yet the desk nurse was told to contact me to schedule them anyways. It gave me the impression all they cared about was money. Fertility treatment is expensive, covid is going on, money is tight for everyone. Why would I want to spend money on unnecessary tests when I already have a confirmation of what the issue is and literally just need a doctor to sign off on recommended medications for my husband. I wish I had read reviews before calling here. Would have saved me a lot of lost time. The whacked out thought process that getting a doctor involved will somehow magically make me get pregnant is insane, and here we are almost 3 cycles later and guess what, still not pregnant.

Im giving four stars because my husband and I just started on this journey. It can be very overwhelming with all the testing plus paperwork. Sometimes I wish I was lucky enough and just get pregnant naturally, but thats not our case of unexplained infertility (same diagnosed by 3 different specialists). Our Dr is Plante...she has been very supportive and has taken the time to explain every step of the way, we feel like we are getting closer to achieve our most precious dream. Everyone has been very nice to us and understanding, they go through every process making sure we understand it and that they listen to our concerns. We are crossing our fingers that soon we can have the great news of becoming pregnant. Im sorry for those with bad reviews, I cant share the same bad experienceI wanted to give an update on our amazing journey. We have 10 months old twin boys. Dr. Plante and her team contacted us to give them an update and were super happy that they were part of our dream coming true. Piece of advice, if you really want to become a parent and having issues, dont wait...take the first step and contact Fertility Center of New England

Giving 3 stars to the doctors. I do not have any problem with them. But I would not go back to FCNE again because nurses make sure they give you hard time if you are not going for monitoring at one of their locations (monitoring will be closed by 7:30 AM. Yes, 7:30 in the morning). Once it happened that my results went to State lab and the lab wanted a call from FCNE office to release the results. One of the nurses told me very rudely that they are very busy and they do not call for test results unless it is done at one of their locations. (They did not tell me this in the beginning. They said, I can get monitored near my home and can go to FCNE for egg retrievals and embryo transfers). So, this delayed my cycle by a month. I was extremely upset and thought of giving up my entire IVF process with them even though I had 3 embryos left. Then the doc who referred me to FCNE jumped in and got the situation under control. I hope they learn that Patient experience is equally important as doctors competency.

The good:I found the initial consultation with Dr. Hill very informative and friendly. I felt very comfortable proceeding with egg freezing after we spoke. Likewise, the nurse who called later that day was very friendly and explained exactly what to expect.During the stimulation, I had several lab and ultrasound appointments. There was one ultrasound lady who was amazing and luckily, she did the majority of my ultrasounds. The nurse anesthetist during both of my retrievals was also wonderful.I ultimately went through two cycles. 17 eggs the first time, 14 the second, which I guess is decent. Although it did seem a little odd that I took significantly more medication the second time and got worse results. The Not-So-Good:Although the nurses followed up through the portal after each lab appointment, they didnt provide much detail regarding lab results. In some cases, they didnt provide any info at all.The first day I was to start my medications the staff instructed me to take a drug that had not been prescribed. I called and told the nurse that this particular medication had not been ordered. She asked what medications I did have and called back a little later to tell me to take one of the other meds that the pharmacy sent. This made me a bit uneasy as it seemed like they were perhaps changing my protocol because they prescribed the wrong meds. Similarly, when it was time for my trigger shot they told me to take a medication that had not been prescribed so I was told to take what the pharmacy had sent instead. In total, they ordered $1,375 dollars worth of medication that I didnt need/use. The first round, they ordered 7 days worth of menopur even though I ended up not using any. For the second round, they ordered it again so I told them that I already had a 7 day supply (unexpired) from the previous round. They told me I would still need more so I got another 7 day supply. Of the 14 doses (which cost $89 EACH), I used 4. I also ended up with 5 leftover doses of Cetrotide, ($97 per dose). If I were to do this again, I would absolutely not fill more than 5-7 days worth of medication up front, and then get refills every 2-3 days as needed. The InexcusableAfter the first retrieval, performed by Dr Plante, they said I might have some cramping and that I could take ibuprofen if needed. That worked fine for the first and second day, but by the third day, I was in so much pain I honestly thought something had ruptured or that I had an infection. Ive had major surgery before and never experienced pain anywhere close to that level. The post-op instructions said to call if you were having uncontrolled pain, so I did. The nurse asked me if I was constipated (no) and then said my experience was completely normal. This did not seem right to me so I called my sister, who is an NP, and she told me to go to the emergency room. Thankfully, nothing was seriously wrong, other than some minor bleeding, and the doctor in the ER was much more sympathetic than the nurse at the clinic. After that, I literally never heard from anyone again. I dont need much coddling, but I would have expected someone to at least follow up and told them as much in a strongly worded message. To his credit, Dr Hill did call after that to discuss my concerns. As a result of that experience, I asked to speak to the doctor about pain control before my second procedure. I asked Dr. Weiss, the physician working that day, if he could prescribe something for me (literally the first time in my life asking for a prescription). He also told me that pain was normal and that hopefully it will be better this time. That was not reassuring at all and after I persisted in my request, he eventually wrote a prescription for a 8 pills (which equates to a 1.5 day supply). Side bar- when I took it to the pharmacy I was told that by law, that particular medication needed to be sent in electronically. All in all, I unfortunately cant recommend FCNE. The level of care and concern was noticeably different once my check cleared.

Since the first transaction I felt like nothing more than a checking account for FCNE and it continues all the way to the last. I felt a lack of compassion and a constant money grabbing mentality. The screening tests for surrogates were unnecessarily invasive before asking the just having questions or a simple health screen. They is just 1 small issue there. I would be giving 0 stars and giving a caution to anyone looking to start their family through Fertility Centers of New England!

My wife and I have been visiting Dr. Hardy for almost two years to address issues we have been having trying to conceive. We chose to go with IVF this past summer based on his recommendation. We have been working with the nurses and our care team throughout all the blood work, injections, and ultrasounds. We are about to do the trigger shot and just being curious I wanted to see what other people were saying about Fertility Center of New England and after reading the two borderline illiterate (and suspiciously similar reviews) giving them a 1 Star I felt I at least needed to set the record straight. I cant speak to the success of the IVF, as we still have another couple of weeks in our first cycle, but I can speak to the professionalism, integrity, and compassion of Dr. Hardy and his team. Choosing IVF is a huge decision and cannot be made lightly, but Dr. Hardy explains every step and helps you through the process. I turned white when we were first presented with all of the needles and medications we would be using over this month but with the help of the care team and the patient portal the injections just become common place (at least for me, you can ask my wife how she feels about it!). Hopefully everything works out but if not we know we still have what has to be one of the best fertility centers in New England for our second go. Now let me put this in terms the trolls can understand:THIS CENTER THE BEST FOR MAKIN BABIEZZ! MY WIFE WUZ ALL NO I DONT WANT NO NEEDLES BUT THE CENTER WAS ALL NO ITS COOL.
