I’ve been here before and my partner has came with me & has sat in there with me. I came here today with my sister as a support system & I was told that i had to go sit and wait in my car during the 3 hour process & I’m a black women. 2 white couples came in there and the men were able to stay and sit in there with their partner the entire time but I was told I had to leave and sit in my car because of a new policy. That made zero sense to me and the people working the front desk were very rude and had attitudes. I do NOT recommend this place. The woman who escorted my sister out to my car, I’m assuming she was a nurse told me that I did not have to sit in my car for three hours & she told me That I could’ve sat inside with my sister just like the other people did. The staff at the front desk is rude

DO NOT COME HERE.On December 27th, I went in for my 21 week anatomy scan and was told that my sweet baby girl stopped growing at 16 weeks. My OBGYN sent me here to have a D&C procedure done and everything went wrong. The staff was incredibly rude, they passed me around like an unwanted stray dog and my husband was barley allowed to stay by my side given the circumstances THAT THEY WERE AWARE OF because they had been sent my entire medical file from my doctor. I never met the surgeon or doctor, and the anesthesiologist looked me in the eye and said “once you take you pill, you know you can’t go back” and then laughed when I started sobbing, like I chose to be there (clarification- I AM PRO CHOICE. I was emotional due to my miscarriage. Who tf says that to a grieving woman) anyways- the procedure was done, they had me leaving not even 30 minutes after waking from anesthesia. On top of that I had blood POURING down my legs and it wasn’t a concern for them. I got home. I passed out. Went to the hospital. Lost so much blood I almost died. I needed another procedure because THIS CLINIC LEFT EXTRA MATERIAL in my body. We called them and we were HUNG UP ON and I haven’t heard back from them or my OB.THIS CLINIC ALMOST KILLED ME. DO NOT GO HERE. THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOU.

First I want to start off by saying everyone was so kind and made me feel comfortable. I came from a different state bc the state I live in is a no go. Everyone communicated throughout the process when I had questions and concerns. Also funding was available which was a huge help. The doctor asked me if I was okay before being put to sleep which made me comfortable as well.. Thank you guy’s sooo much.. This choice was never easy to make but I’m glad my friend told me about this place.. I was able to catch my flight right after with no complications.. I’d highly recommend!

My first time was amazing and this time too, the nurses, receptionist, everyone was amazing until I hit the operating room. Immediately felt uncomfortable this time it was a different anesthesiologist man this time and he gave off really bad vibes. I couldn’t feel anything last time but this time when he put the fluid through the iv I will never forget that burning sensation of my arm.

This place is great. The staff is very friendly. I had to have a dnc done because I had a non viable pregnancy and my ob couldn’t get me in until next week and I was feeling sick from it. This place got me in quick, anesthesiologist was very nice and quick getting me to sleep so I didn’t have to sit there worrying myself. Dr was nice as well and the lady’s in recovery were great.

They overbook. the place is like a puppy mill. i had a 9am appointment and there were already 7 girls there. i was the second person in line and somehow still wasn’t seen second. they called multiple people before me despite me being there already. i asked them for an itemized receipt and they refused because they said they didn’t need to bc i used insurance. if i want to see what you’re charging my insurance, i have the right to. the woman that did the sonogram & the medical assistant that held my hand before going under were amazing. the anesthesiologist has a disgusting bedside manner & he shouldn’t be dealing with women during a sensitive time. he sighs when you ask any questions & he left a gigantic bruise on my arm from where the IV went. i woke up in recovery and after checking my pad, the recovery nurse didn’t call my emergency contact to meet me at the door. she literally just opened the door and had me walk to the car by myself JUST waking up from general anesthesia less than 10 minutes prior in true puppy mill fashion. fast forward 3 days later i very clearly have an infection. they told me to call a number if i had any of the symptoms THEY LISTED. i have MULTIPLE symptoms of an infection. the doctor disregarded me & i basically called for no reason. telling me it’s normal. you know your body .. this is not normal. these people do not care about your well-being. you’re a check. outside of the two wonderful ladies, they’re dangerously uncaring.

Please PLEASE PLEASE READ the reviews before going I wish I did. I had an appointment scheduled at 11am and didn’t get seen till 4pm , the doctor who did the anesthesia left a very bad bruise on my arm because the needle wasn’t in correctly as a mentioned but he ignored and I woke up with 2 sores in my mouth which I DID NOT HAVE before…it’s a male doctor who also does the procedure which made me very uncomfortable there need to be women that can perform this because 2 males in the room to do this type of work is very unsettling.

I drove about six hours to get to this place after receiving some misinformation from a local reproductive center. For the majority of the six hour trip I convinced myself something was going to happen to prevent a successful procedure. I think the traffic coupled with those concerns threw me into a pretty severe panic attack. I panicked from the time I walked inside until I was laid on the operating table. The nurse was struggling to administer my IV, to no fault of his own, when I reached peak panic. The nurse stopped what he was doing to hold my hand & assure me I was going to be fine. The doctor who stood over me made a point to be very kind & very patient. He didn’t make me feel like a burden, or like he wanted to hurry up & be done with me. They didn’t have to be so sweet. I know I must have been super annoying. The whole staff maintained a caring & compassionate attitude. It’s probably the best place to go in east coast.

The complaints that I have are for one it was very unsettling to see ppl protesting outside. Second, it was very overcrowded and the downstairs waiting is way too small. Third, I had to wait upstairs for hours just to be seen.Once I was seen it was smooth after that. The doctor made me fee very comfortable. The nurse who held my hand also made me feel comfortable, because I was very nervous. After the procedure they treated me well. They made sure that I was comfortable and gave me water and snacks. I would definitely recommend them. They just need to work on the protesting outside and the horrible wait time.

I do not understand why this place has any 1 star reviews. I had a very nice experience. Only thing I will say is I recommend making an appointment for early in the morning. I got there at 9:15 and it was generally pretty quick. A bit of waiting but nothing bad. Bring a book or something if youd like. Everyone there is super kind and professional. I would recommend!

I was there today for a termination for fetal abnormalities, and my OB told us that my life was in danger. I didnt know what to expect, but they went way above and beyond any expectations of how I thought a facility would run. As someone who has been staunchly pro-life, this decision was the hardest one my husband and I ever made. It was not done lightly, and with great sadness and trepidation, I called for an appointment. The receptionist let me cry and soothed me while I explained the need for the appointment. Upon arriving, there were protestors on the street, but the building is around the back, and there are pro choice advocates outside to ensure your car isnt bothered. The facility looks like a townhouse, and its actually kind of quaint. When we went in, the receptionist was warm and compassionate, helped me get started, and took my husband and my mom to the private room upstairs while I provided a urine sample. The lab tech was really nice, and took time to listen and review my notes. She also rubbed my shoulder while I cried, and proceeded to give me tissues and let me talk it out. After a simple blood test for my blood type, I was taken to the preliminary exam room. The doctor, Dr. McLeod was a sweet doctor, and reminded me of a kind grandfather figure. He was competent and compassionate, and took his time explaining what he was doing, and making sure I was comfortable during the initial exam. As someone who has been unable to relax for weeks, he actually put me at ease, and actually took my hand and said he was sorry for my loss.I was then ushered to a private room to wait for our turn with the counselor. Stephanie held me while I cried again, this time in her arms. The office staff are the most compassionate people I have ever met. She took about 45 minutes answering my questions, reviewing my paperwork, and making sure I was feeling okay. She was so helpful and her guidance was appreciated. I stayed in the private room until I was called down. I was given a bag to hold my things, and a clean, large, cotton gown to wear for the procedure. In the procedure room, I elected the general anesthesia, so the nurse and the anesthesiologist were present. The anesthesiologist was extremely professional and courteous, making sure I felt comfortable and safe before inserting the IV sedation. Dr. McLeod came in with his scrubs on, the room was sterile and clean, and at no time was I made to feel uneasy.Right before the anesthesia took effect, I thanked the doctor, nurse, and anesthesiologist for taking my decision to save my life with the utmost dignity, compassion, and care more than anywhere I had gone for my high risk pregnancy. The told me it was their pleasure and thanked me for the kind words.Around 20 minutes later, I woke up in a large recovery room, and was helped off the stretcher, and onto a comfortable recliner. They gave me water, pretzels and cookies. Then they made sure I felt ok to get dressed and had me change into my clothes. I had my blood pressure retaken, and then they had my husband and mom wait for me and helped me walk to the door. I was there a total of two and a half hours. I went home and napped for 4 hours and I feel exactly as they said I should expect.Listen, I never thought I would write a review about an abortion facility, not in a million years, but I FIRMLY believe they do NOT deserve a poor rating, simply because of the services they provide. They went above and beyond for my family and I. I cant say Ill ever be back, but this experience opened my eyes to the true meaning of the term compassionate care.

They lied to me about how many weeks I was and where my afterbirth was located. I had to be pregnant longer and go to somewhere else. I went somewhere else a week later and my afterbirth was not under my scar it was located in the back. They are an unprofessional establishment and they lie. It’s hard enough making this type of decision to abort a baby. To make a decision to abort a baby and to try to get it over with and an establishment that does it and lie is worst. Now you are making the decision for me and forcing me to be pregnant longer. The more weeks you are the more it costs. I would not recommend them at all. It traumatizing as is and you just added to it with your lies. They looked me on my face and lied.

The staff was incredibly sweet and caring, from the first phone call to the recovery room. I was in and out in 3 hours. The process happens in stages (urine sample, blood test, medical history, sonogram, counseling). There is some time between each stage, but the main waiting room is large with vending machines, a tv, and magazines to read. The facility is clean and welcoming. If anyone has issue with the staff being unfriendly- perhaps their desire for efficiency was misinterpreted. I dont remember names, but the woman in the room with me during the procedure and my counselor stood out as being sweet and caring. The services provided are affordable, and they take most health insurance. TLDR: Highly recommend (especially in comparison to PP).

This place is absolutely horrible. I came here with my best friend, and the way they treated her was so unprofessional. First, my friend fell asleep to an older men putting his hands up her pants, and woke up to a room full of men. She didn’t get asked consent for ANYTHING. They straight up told her “no,” when she asked for privacy. They sent her out to the car super loopy on anesthesia.

I had an abortion at this clinic last year and everyone was wonderful except for my counselor stephanie she was very mean and simple showed no emotion what so ever and the worst part is they made her come in the room for a while to assist the doctor and I in the surgery room. She didnt offer to hold my hand I felt no type of comfort. I hope next time people dont have to deal woith her or go through what i went through with my experience and her. I think she should just work at the front desk or paperwork but definitley not have her interacting with patients. Nurses need to be more genoerous and sweet and compassionate in my opinion. Over all great clinic.

DONT GO IF YOU HAVE INSURANCE!!! PLEASE!!!Very unprofessional front desk/billing department. The front desk lady ensured me in person and again on the phone that they will submit the bill to my insurance company. But they never did over more than one month. What they only care is to charge your credit card and get the money before any procedure. And in this case, it is $400.Now I am out of $400, which should be paid by the insurance company. And the billing department of Potomac Family planning center just wont care.It is already a painful process, But adding all the mess, what a nightmare! I have never had such BAD experience at any medical places. Insist you to pay with credit card even if you come with a valid insurance card and then casually forget to submit billing to the insurance company.STAY AWAY

This place is disgusting. The staff was rude and uncaring. I was there to help my friend through this incredibly difficult experience. She felt uneasy and unwelcome in the front door and asked if it was safe to be there. The woman told her if she didnt feel safe now that she wont feel safe later and should just leave. I tried to calm the situation down to which they got EXTREMELY defensive and told us to get out. I was SHOCKED at how they handled the situation and someone going through a medical termination. As they were grabbing for the clipboard they told my friend. to do whats right for the baby. These people make me sick at the complete lack of humanity they have for people going through a very dark time.

I was referred to PFPC when a sonogram showed I was 3 days too late for Planned Parenthood to cover. The staff were all polite, warm, and professional. I did the procedure without anesthesia which I regret. This was my first (and hopefully only) abortion-- a D&C-- and, as someone else mentioned, it is not a gentle process. Not sure if this is a function of the doctor or the nature of the procedure itself. The only other thing worth mentioning is that it seemed like the doctor waited until there were enough of us in the waiting room and then did a string of procedures in a row. I think I was first but the operating room is right next to the recovery room, so youre sitting there listening to other women whimpering and crying out right after you have, which is a bit unsettling.
