AFC Urgent Care West Orange

This is my first time going to this health center and Lord I am so happy I went here. The staff are super friendly, respectful, professional, caring and pleasant. I am definitely coming back. Martha and Marlee just really uplifted my spirits, I walked out of the facility with some much more energy and happiness than when I entered. If you’re looking for an urgent care center, look no further. I don’t usually write reviews but I had to sit down and write one for the exceptional care that was delivered today. Keep up the good work guys.

I had a great visit with Dr Odekunle. He and the staff nurses were very professional, polite, paid attention to details and very respectful which every patient wants to see in any healthcare facility. Their facility (AFC URGENT CARE) is very neat and clean. Dr Odekunle is very knowledgeable, knows what he doing and very patient and gentle with his customers. I’ll recommend Dr Odekunle and his nurses and facilities to everyone.Consistency is always a key ingredient in success. I went for my second visit to the facility on 4/15/2024 and it was still neat and clean all the staff in there went about their duties professionally and made sure all patients were comfortable and were attended to in a timely manner. I love going to Dr Odekunle facility. He and the staff are very loving and caring. Thank you Dr Odekunle and your staff for making us feel at home when we visit your facility.

The medical service was good but the treatment by staff was not.The Doctor was good but the staff was not.The staff at the front desk showed more concern and was eager to help with a sense of urgency while being more pleasant to white people than black people and the staff at the time was black.Statistically I am part of the top 15% ( got Bank) and expected basic courtesy .I seen an older black gentleman and his wife get treated like whatever. It hurts me to see this happening especially when I seen when he noticed the difference in treatment by shaking his head left to right in disbelief. I would think that man has been with his wife for decades and he was there with her to seek basic care and appeared to not be pleased.I myself was initially treated by the healthcare assistant with a whatever attitude and a look of disgust, when her appearance was that of a person in there home on their day off, hair a mess, funky clogs and attitude.White people got the refreshing experience.I would not recommend this facility.Don’t give this facility your $150-600 for an ignorant experience.Go where your presence is respected for what it’s worth ( their pay check ) “Facts “.There is nothing that can be done with that staff, what they feel is what they feel.Re-instruction would just bring about pretenders .

Came here for the first time a couple months ago and Marline treated me and made me so comfortable at the same time. Today, I had to take my mother, and the service and patient care was exceeded to another level. First, Rosalie at the front was very patient and helped us to get what was needed in order to be treated. And Marline and the PA on duty gave her excellent care and service. Highly recommend this urgent care. Thank you to the entire team at West Orange.

My experience was positively excellent. I was greeted warmly by the receptionist and sensitively asked what my reason for the visit was. I was skillfully assisted with my check in process, essentially when I informed her I didn’t have a cellphone.Upon meeting with the physician, I was completely satisfied with her knowledge of my ailment; situation, advice, and and prescriptive recommendations. And her immediate contact with the pharmacy.Following her instructions, it has only been two day, but I am experiencing an uncommon speedy recovery. Thanks.

Great facility, very nice staff and experience. I would encourage the staff to verbally greet people when they arrive and explain the check in process. I’ve been here a few times and stand at the reception desk and nobody says anything until I say “hello?” I don’t want to interrupt, but just a “hi be with you in a moment” goes a long way particularly in the situation or urgent care.

AFC West Orange has great staff and service. From the reception to the medical assistants and doctors, everyone was very courteous and professional. I felt very comfortable with their diagnosis and plan of treatment, and I’m feeling a little better today.

From check in to getting X-ray results, my visit was seamless. The team was very nice and accommodating throughout the whole visit. It made the experience as pleasant as possible for something that would not normally be pleasant.

Staff was great. Patient and helpful at check-in. Very fast processing. X-rayed injured foot on-site. Dr. Jackson is very personable and explained everything clearly. Sprained foot shows some bruising but feels much better today after a night’s rest. Thank you!

My husband and I had a great experience here recently. We needed help getting a same day yellow fever vaccine and malaria med prescription and they were all incredibly efficient and thorough. Sonal and Marlee were very helpful both on the phone and in person. The patient care tech Tiffany was great at creating a comfortable/easy environment, which can often be hard to find in a medical setting. Dr. Browne was very thorough with education regarding the prescribed medications, giving us insight into the best way to take it according to the trip itinerary we had. I absolutely recommend this clinic. It was a positive experience. Thank you!

The entire AFC staff is great, especially Jessica, she is very professional and caring, I was lucky to have met her today. These 5 stars are for her, she deserves it.

The 3 stars are for the amazing nurses who helped my daughter feel more comfortable with her appointment. Dr. Browne needs a better bedside manner especially when dealing with children. It also didnt help that we had to wait an hour to be seen.

The service was not good at all. The doctor was so dismissive and had a negative aura; the way he slammed the door twice was so unnecessary. The medical assistant that attended to me needs to learn the phlebotomy aspect all over. My arm was sore for 2 days. Before obtaining a specimen, you have to gather all your stuff together, that includes bringing an extra tube and needle, just in case. She was digging around and had to call someone to get an extra tube. You dont discuss about a patient in a room that is so close to the the front desk. So unprofessional! This location was recommended to me by another urgent care personnel and it was a last minute thing otherwise, I would have gone to my doctor or Care Station in West Orange.

I thought that the wait time was really excellent, I was so worried my Saturday morning would be gone but I couldnt come any other time. The lady at the reception desk was so nice, friendly and helpful. Doctor and assistant were very quick and to the point and seemed confident about what was up. Gave meds which started to work, hopefully will continue to improve! Thank you!

DO NOT GO HERE! I waited over 2 hours to be seen by a doctor and when I was diagnosed with Covid they couldn’t even get me a prescription ordered. This place also sucks the money out of you. Stay high and clear of this place

My wife came by at 4:45 and supposedly closes at 5PM but they told her they were closed. The sign on the door also says 5PM close. It would have been a quick turnaround is it’s a suspected ear infected which is I imagine a prescription write up.

They really need to work on the customer service. Have some empathy…if someone is coming here they are obviously sick and don’t need to deal with rude customer service. I came in with chest pains; they call me up to ask for a card and I asked why. They wouldn’t tell me how much they are billing me and why. So why would I give you a card. I said no problem I will leave. The young lady said we”ll just decline and still have the doctor see you. Okay whole time I am listening to a young lady complain about every reason why she don’t want to be there. She calls me in the back and start asking questions with an attitude. Never once did she look at me…she took my vitals and said nothing. I had to ask what was my blood pressure. She walks out the door and don’t say anything. Not the door is coming nothing. I asked her what is the price of a COVID test..,she never came back to tell me. I decided to walk-out with no service. She was absolutely rude and I would never walk foot back in this place. Go somewhere where they care about you. The other young lady was a little more pleasant and obviously could see why I wanted to leave. Management need to really reconsider who you have working for you.

NP AgnichaIs the only reason why I am giving this place a five star. I’ve visited this place this year January. The doctor at the time turned me away after waiting over two hours. The ladies at the front desk weren’t to nice at the time. Today I visited this place for my child who wants to do sport, I was turned away and was informed after 5pm they do not do physicals. Mind you I called this office yesterday and I was told I can come there at any time Mon-Friday 8am to 8pm for my daughter physical. However, NP Agnicha turned that around. She was able to assist me, super thanks to her.I am huge on customer service, more than 15yrs servicing people.However, I will not visit this place again after today’s visit.Thank you again NP Agnicha

A simple ear cleaning took about 2 1/2 hrs. Thanks to the doctor who took about 20 mins to check up initally before starting the procedure. The staff was friendly & courteous. The place was clean and followed Covid protocols.

Dr. Odekunle deserves the highest praise with five stars! His expertise, compassion, and efficiency is greatly appreciated. Dr. O took the time to listen attentively to my concerns and provided clear explanations every step of the way. His diagnosis was spot-on, and the treatment plan recommended was effective. I left feeling relieved and grateful for his exceptional care. Thank you, Dr. O and nurse team for your dedication to patients well-being!However, one of the receptionists I encountered was unpleasant. I informed the young woman that I was experiencing issues with uploading my insurance card on the mobile app. She replied, try to skip that part. Unfortunately, it was a required field! I ended up taking a photo beforehand and then after about nine security codes later I figured out the rest myself. I thought to myself, I am the one not feeling well and could have took my business elsewhere. Owners, perhaps upgrade your kiosk for patients to complete the entire registration process there. The receptionist came across as unfriendly and racist, but Dr. O was great.

I never met a Doctor so dismissive and rude in my life until I came to this Urgent Care .This is the first bad review I ever made to any organization its upsetting I have to do this. I was visiting my mom, I live states away so while I was in town I noticed my mom was getting sick with a high fever . We didnt have a doctors appointment at her primary doctor so we decided just to go to Urgent care .The staff ran a flu/covid test on my mom which came back negative . Then the doctor came in to assist us , she is a young African American women, whom has natural really short honey gold hair and wear glasses. The first thing she says as she enters the room is why didnt you go to your doctorInstead of asking what brings us in today. Then I took it upon myself to explain whats wrong with my mom because my mom is 65yrs old , weak , tired , and doesnt feel well . She then says why didnt you go to the emergency roomThe covid test came back negative why would I want to take my mom to an emergency room, where she would have to sit for hours amongst people whom may have covid where she can catch it! What is the urgent care there for ? just for show and no real help.The doctor gave no medicine ! rushed us out! was rude !its sad thats theres doctors who dont care about patients and thats there job.I took my mom to her primary doctor right after and the doctor seen how sick my mom was and took her in front of the other patients (where is RARE) .She gave my mom antibotics she discovered my mom had a bacterial infection . She also gave my mom medicine for her headache that wouldnt go away .The doctor at Urgent Care didnt even give me medicine for my mom headache after I asked time and time again. Its like she came in set knowing she wasnt going to provide any help. I even explained that I dont live in town and that I want to make sure my mom was in good health before I leave. Its like the doctor at urgent care SHE didnt care at all!!! I never experienced such treatment in my life !West Orange Is a beautiful place is sad they have people working there to help the sick but refuses to.

Dr. Odekunle is an excellent doctor. I have not yet met any other Doctor like him who takes pride in his work. Very patient & took the time to listen to all of my problems.

Apart from the ‘hiccups’ associated with finishing the ‘Info. Sign up’( switching between doc folders on my phone then back to the sign up applet meant repeat filling out of info. )The staff were very professional but welcoming. They were thorough in explaining what had to be done and exercised compassion with every step that was necessary during care. I couldn’t have asked for better service!!!

Dr. Odekunle saw us today. We were seen very quickly. My 11 year old daughter was treated very gently and most expeditiously. The team was polite and understanding. We had minimal wait along with quick x-rays. The doctor made my daughter comfortable and made her laugh despite her pain. The care will be remembered and our family will be back here for urgent medical matters! Thanks guys!

Went to the Urgent Care because of an ear ache. I was scared in visiting as I had visited RJW Barnabas Hospital and was charged $1200 for the same issue bad because I visited their emergency room. The medication prescribed by the doctor at RJW Barnabas, did not work and my ear ache got worst.This visit to the Urgent Care was only $150.00 and guess what! The same night I visited and got the medication which was prescribed, my ears stopped aching. Oh my gosh. She prescribed an antibiotic ear drops and I actually got to sleep that night. Got up in the morning and went through my day like I did not have an ear ache all week long prior to this doctor’s visit.Thank you Dr Auth. I hope I got your name right. Thanks a million. It is tremendous to have a Black Female Doctor who knows her stuff and is very professional too.Thanks again. You’re the best.

“My wife and I recently visited this establishment, and I regret to say our experience was nothing short of disheartening. From the moment we stepped in, the front desk staff gave us an unwelcome vibe, making us feel more like an inconvenience than valued customers. Their lack of professionalism and courtesy was evident in every interaction.But what truly took the cake was the attitude of the closing doctor. One would expect a medical professional to uphold a certain standard of behavior, but this was not the case here. The doctor’s demeanor was dismissive and even bordering on rude. There was a palpable lack of empathy and understanding in our interactions, making an already uncomfortable situation even worse.I believe that every customer deserves respect and a basic level of politeness, regardless of the nature or size of the business. The treatment we received during our visit is simply unacceptable and does not reflect the standards one would expect from a reputable establishment. I sincerely hope no one else has to endure such an experience, and I would advise potential patrons to seriously reconsider before entrusting this business with their needs.”

This was easily the worst experience I have ever had at an urgicare center.First, I waited 2 hours to be seen by the doctor although there were only 3 other people in the waiting room when I checked in. Dr. Belt came into my room after 2 hours without any acknowledgement of or apology for the wait, cut me off while I was explaining my symptoms, and did not listen intently to what I was experiencing. He then ordered a bunch of tests, and returned to tell me that my EKG appeared abnormal and that I should see a cardiologist as soon as possible to make sure I wasnt going to “have a heart attack.” I’m a 33 year old healthy woman with no history of heart issues, so I was terrified at this news. His bedside manner while telling me this was completely apathetic, and when I asked him to explain what was abnormal, he said “I’m not a cardiologist. It just says abnormal.” He ended the exchange by saying, “ I dont think you need it, but I can give you a prescription for a Zpack if you want.”I rushed to the hospital after that exchange, redid all the tests that were done at AFC, and was told that everything was normal and that urgicare centers often scare patients unnecessarily.Needless to say, my experience at AFC included long wait times, poor bedside manner, terrible listening skills, and an incredibly insensitive Dr. Belt, who should no longer be practicing.Do not go here unless you want to have your time wasted and be scared into a frenzy.

A quick visit for my daughter’s eye. Friendly nurses and nurse practitioners! We did not have to wait very long at all!

We were in and out in a timely manner and the service was great. Everyone was really friendly and professional and the care was just what we needed.

The location is quite accessible with lots of parking space. The staff are efficient and the service is very fast. Dr. Odekunle was remarkably attentive and sure knows how to put one at ease while hes working. I highly recommend this place!!!

I liked the service, the staff members (Somalia, Marlee, and Crystal)were very nice and so was the doctor. They got me in and out. I reccomend them for anyone who needs help urgently

I’m in town visiting and was urged to go to urgent care by family. Urgent Care facilities are often cold, miserable places with long waits and unhappy people. So I was reluctant. However AFC urgent care was cozy, efficient with great staff. Shout out to Marlee, Sonal and Ericka! Thanks for your kindness. And thanks to the kind and effective doctor who took care of me.

The staff very professional one of the staff name Jessica was very nice she took me and my husband to the room she treated us like her own family thank you so much ❤️

Good customer service Jessica and Marlee were super helpful and answer all our questions and gave me and my son the service we need it definitely coming back to this place if I have an emergency.

Horrible. That’s the only way I can describe my experience. The doctor came in and told me I don’t have a UTI and told me he has other patients to see and left the room. Mind you I didn’t come in for a UTI testing. I came in for a rash on my hand.

Yes. The sign on the door says to wear a mask when you enter the facility; however, most of the patients who were there did not have on masks, except me, and it was not enforced by the front desk. I felt uncomfortable because COVID-19 is still around, along with other upper respiratory contagious diseases.

Waited almost 2 hrs to be seen; whilst in pain. Explained the exact reason for my visit from the beginning, to be told the service could not be provided! I would have hoped someone would have inquired or double checked with the physician. A waste of time.

Check in process was quick and easy. It was done at the kiosk. I only went to front desk to pay for my Co-pay. The wait time was approximately 5 min. Dr. Odekunle was very patient and informative. Great bedside manners by the way. The assistant Marlee was very helpful, attentive and pleasant. Great teamwork!!!

Doctors are nice and professional but staff at front desk are the worst. Just lazy/ rude and it shows… if you could try to make it to any other facility you’re better off doing that .

My experience has been pleasant and warm. Marlee and Sonal were welcoming during my visit and explained things thoroughly. I would come back if there was a need for urgent care in the future

Dr. Odekunle, unprepared to see me. I basically gave my own appointment and prescription, and he nodded along then asked for a google review…here’s your google review bro. Also the cuff started coming off during bp check so the nurse just held it on my arm.

I had to visit AFC Urgent Care while visiting from out of state. My experience was positive from the moment I stepped into the waiting room. The clinic was immaculately clean including the bathroom. The receptionist was very helpful, professional and knowledgeable, the young lady that took my vitals was friendly and welcoming. The physician Dr. Yorio was thorough, skilled and I felt he empathized with my concerns. I felt blessed to have been treated by such a professional team. It should be said that if this rating was just for my Doctor, I would leave a beaming 5star review. She was amazing! Great people skills, confident, knowledgeable, approachable and made an uncomfortable situation not just tolerable, but actually pleasant and helpful. I wish she was my PCP.Whomever is responsible for staffing the reception area made a gross misjudgment of character regarding the disengaged ladies unfortunately placed at the front desk. They had a general air of disregard and not a trace of empathy. They came across as rude, impersonal, judgmental, unfriendly, racist, and carried an all around air of crankiness and lack of propriety. They left such a bad taste in my mouth that I almost walked out twice.But my Doctor was stellar. Best experience I’ve ever truly had in healthcare.

The entire staff was so kind, patient, and helpful. If Im ever injured again I will come back. I would happily recommend going to this urgent care.

Was brought back quickly and everyone I had interactions with during the process were very kind and professional.

We visited this location on 3.9.2024. We were assisted with the sign in process and the person on the front desk was kind. I think it being a Saturday, they were staffed only with one doctor which lead to longer than usual wait time for the doctor to actually examine us. But apart from that, everything went smooth.

Dr. Odekunle was so helpful and caring! The urgent care staff are kind, patient and wonderful. The doctor reassured me that everything will be fine even though I was in a panic.

The front office ladies were efficient and from what I saw, they provided help and were patients who were struggling with their registration and co-pays. My provider was great. She made sure my concerns were heard and made sure she addressed everything with me. She called my Rxs in immediately and they were ready for pickup when I got there. Overall, besides being sick, it was a positive experience.

Everyone I interacted with from the front of the house to the back.. love the personable touch they offered!

Wish I could give zero stars. I have been to this urgent care a few times and I think its only been one time that Ive had a pleasant experience, with every other time leaving me unbelievably frustrated, angry, and honestly shocked that they can continue to treat patients. I waited an hour and a half to be seen for two seconds. The staff was incredibly rude, literally turned their backs on me twice, one after giving me an extremely rude look, the doctor was unfriendly and I felt like barely even examined me, and seemed reluctant to even do routine checks. The only explanation I received was that they were short staffed, yet all the exam rooms were empty when I was finally called in. I 100% understand understaffing in the medical field and have been extremely patient every time I go to the doctor, but this experience was something else and uncalled for. I will NEVER go back to this urgent care and urge others not to go, you will not receive good service.

The staff is so nasty. They are rude and unhelpful every time. I’m going to start driving over to Livingston. The doctors are nice but if you hate your job, maybe don’t work with sick people. They were even nasty to another employee from a different office. Just take the extra time to visit a different office.

Dr. Odekunle is a good doctor. He took good care of me and listened to all of my concerns.

Dr Odekunle was a very nice doctor to me he was very fast and understanding and had me in and out of no time. Erica on the other hand was very rude !!! The medical assistant! I do not recommend her at all please be aware she was very rude and nasty as if she did not want to be there at all I will be going higher up to report ERICA!

Staff was pleasant & helpful but having to use the kiosk before getting to actually encounter staff members and subsequently, the doctor, was very stressful. After actually encountering the staff and doctor, I was pleased with treatment and professionalism.

The receptionist was very kind, but once I had gotten into Triage, the intake nurse was very snarky. She proceeded to ask me why I was on Mental Health medication in a snarky manner and then once telling her that I was on Testosterone injections, she said, and I quote “Oh so your turning into a Man”. I have never had a interaction like this at this urgent care facility and I hope the issue gets resolved because that was very unprofessional.Not to mention, the doctor that treated me walked in, told me he was gonna swab my throat, and after waiting what felt like an eternity, told me he was giving me antibiotics, without telling me what I could have had, or what course of treatment will be taken. Then the rude intake nurse kept bothering me about an ID, when I just turned 18 not even a week or two ago. Go to PM Peds, where they actually truly care.

Always empty. Staff are very nice and Martha Sonal is very helpful as well. 10/10

At the front desk there was a Caucasian receptionist who attended to me. Behind me was a Caucasian lady and an African American young lady. When I was done completing my form for a PCR test, the receptionist told me to go wait in the car for 30mins. 25 mins later, the Caucasian lady was called in before me. When I went inside to inquire why she was called in before me, the receptionist could not give me a valid reason instead the African American medical assistant became very disrespectful. The lady who perform the PCR test was very apologetic about the whole situation and showed exceptional customer service.As a registered nurse I believe in good customer service and respect for everyone regardless of skin color. I am highly disappointed. I will never visit this place again

I had went for a sick visit. The front desk and the medical assistant was great. But the doctor need to have more patience and listen to her patients. Walking away and talking to you like you are no body. I have been in the medical field over 20 years. I do take time to listen to my patients and look them in the eyes with showing respect. We are missing love and compassion for our patients

Dr. Odekunle is awesome. He took one look and said its this but we’re going to do all the necessary test to confirm. He was right. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. I was given instructions and knowledge about the medicine before I left the office.

DO NOT GO HERE!! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!! SCAM ARTISTS!!! I went here *ONE TIME* in 2022. They kept sending me bills, outrageously overpriced for the services provided, but within this broken system what choice do I have? I paid them. They sent me more bills. I negotiated with their billing department to settle the debt. I PAID IT. Now -- almost two years later -- theyre still sending me MORE BILLS for that one visit! Hounding me for more money! What the hell is this healthcare SCAM!? I wouldnt recommend this nightmare to my worst enemy. For real. Id rather get sick and die than visit this urgent care again.

Dr Odekunle was great. Thank youUnfortunately, Im disappointed with the lack of customer service, long holds on the line, and then no results as promised. I was expecting a full test for my throat and Im now being told it was never ordered. This conflicts with what I was told initially.

The times I’ve been there check is fine, the wait isn’t long however the staff’s patience is laking when prepping you to see the doctor. Too much attitude for first thing in the morning and not feeling well on top of that. They do their job and I’m usually in an out fast enough but whatever the reason you may be having a not so great day is t my fault.

WORST PLACE IN AMERICA !i was seen on a monday.. let’s start with the facility as a whole VERY DISGUSTING. i waited almost 3 hours to be spoken to for 5 min. as the tech was taking my blood they cannot afford a chair that has an arm rest so i had to rest my arm on her thigh as my blood was being drawn. the bathroom i had to leave a urine sample in was so smelly i had to cover my nose to breathe. i was told by someone names Rosa Lee that my results would be in, 5 days later they never came because they didn’t send my samples when stated. on day 9 they call with results and say they will send meds to my pharmacy took them 3 days to send my medication so that i can start to heal. also when she Rosa Lee called me to give my results she screamed my STD results aloud in the entire waiting room and told me that the doctor forgot to send my medication and that i need to relax and I CAN WAIT. it’s unfortunate because i am black and every person working there was black or of minority and they were the most rudest, nastiest, people and place i’ve ever been. I wouldn’t take an animal to be seen here. to this day they have not sent me any medication and now i have to PAY MORE MONEY to be seen by someone who will send the correct medicine. i’ve never been denied care like this. i have also written the CEO of AFC Urgent Care that oversees this particular location and am trying to find Destiney Santos she is Rosa Lee’s boss. please DO NOT COME HERE

Twice this location has refused to service me. Once when I was feeling unwell and because I’m asthmatic I was honest in letting them know there was some chest tightness and from there they refused me. Told me to go to my dr or ER, which I found weird since I’d been treated with a nebulizer there in the past. Fast forward to learning I had covid exposure but because I had no symptoms- they refused to give me a test. Again the response was, go somewhere else. No treatment when Ill, no treatment when trying to protect others by knowing my Covid status. The people behind the desk in the lobby are cold and unfriendly.

The young lady that does the check in during the evening shift on Monday, January 15th, 2024 was extremely unpleasant. I went person and she was on the phone while speaking to me. I call a couple days after for my results and she was just unpleasant. I feel as those if you don’t like to deal with people you’re in the wrong career field. No one wants to come to the doctors office and deal with such a bad attitude.

Dr. Odekunle was so great and helpful! The appointment here was quick and easy, would definitely come back again!

I visit the AFC Urgent Care in West Orange, NJ today. The front end staff was welcoming and friendly. The assistant who took my vitals was efficient and very friendly. The cod tot was very thorough with her questions and exam to diagnose my problem. The entire visit from the time I entered the facility until I left was about 30 minutes. I would not hesitate to visit this location again.

Such a smooth & thoughtful operation. The folks that work here genuinely care about your condition and providing the most respectful & knowledgeable help possible. Also, the ladies at the front desk are polite and caring, be sure to greet them with a hello, good morning, good afternoon before you get into any business.

I would not recommend visiting the center unless you have no other choice. I was charged $100 (copay, so it’s not the urgent care fault). I walked in complaining about the common respiratory issues and Dr. Odekunle only prescribed me meds. He kept distance from me, didn’t visited me at all. I’m coughing and sneezing and have pink eye and you don’t hear my lungs, check my throat? So so weird. After that he pulled a card out asking me to scan it and give a good review! Haha.The staff is friendly and the place is very clean.

Service was excellent. The wait was a little much but the service was good.

Dr Odekunle is very polite and thoughtful. Service was quick and registration was a breeze. I was out within an hour.Update: Now they have no verification of my visit for my employer. According to them, no patient with my name or dob was in their office. Are you kidding me?!

This is probably my third visit for drug screening within in 6 months(disclaimer: for work). Each time I go the service is fast. Less than 20 minutes wait and it honestly is less than that. The workers are friendly. Today I had Marlee and she exemplified such great customer service. I just had to leave a review. Thank you afc!!!!

I am very disappointed with the service I received yesterday at this Urgent Care office. The doctor was extremely dismissive. I waited for an hour and he spent less than 60 seconds with me in the examination room. I will not be recommending this urgent care to my friends and family.

I can’t fully review the level of care by the physician until I see the results oh his diagnosis. Initially the staff are pleasant but signing in using a kiosk is impersonal and would be daunting if you are elderly or not tech savvy. As well, when CVS sent a request for further details regarding my son’s prescription the clinic did not respond. And, upon calling the woman at the front desk she said they were too busy and that the pharmacy needed to call them. A kind lady in the pharmacy agreed to call and stated that they answered on the first ring. Hence not “too busy” Won’t be going back.

I was very satisfied with the assistance that I was given. I live a hour from this location and I was in a lot of pain. I was also frightened because I didnt know what to do or where to go for help. Everything worked out perfectly and I am very happy and healthy now! Thank you all very much!💜🙏🏽

This evening my husband and I stopped by this location at 5:35pm. I would rather have a robot assist us. The front desk clerk with an accent was rude and it appears she didnt want to be bothered. My husband checked himself in the kiosk advised him to go to the front desk. She rudely stated did you get a text? He explained the kiosk advised him to come to the front desk. I suggest you put some updated rules near the kiosk or replace the two young ladies with some pleasant robots.Lastly, this will be his first and final time!!** Your Tone Sets the Outcome**

Took my child here. The attendant seemed annoyed when I asked if they provided care for children. After 25 minutes as she watched my child crying out loud in pain, she determined they did not accept my insurance. She could have asked for my card before wasting our time. Instead I had to use a kiosk which took 5 minutes to then prompt my phone which took 10 minutes, I waited 10 more minutes to be told they couldn’t accept my insurance. Took my child to an actual emergency room with real doctors where her care was no issue. It is frustrating that this center pops up in Google as an option for emergency care when it is absolutely not NOT emergency care facility. Urgent is misleading.

Did My Blood Work & Set Me Up With Crutches, The X-Ray Tech Was Wonderful As She Carefully Worked With Me 2 Get The Image Just Right, & Finally The Woman Who Jumped Up From The Desk 2 Open Door 4 Me As I Navigated Said Crutches!!! EVERYBODY & THE FACILITY ITSELF WAS GREAT!!!

Visited here a few times and have had a good experience. Ample parking, coming in before peak times help lessen the wait. Only annoyance is that long sign in process every time you see them. They gotta figure out a way to make this easier for returning customers.

I’m usually skeptical with third party medical clinics, however, I got injured at work and was referred here for workman’s comp. I have to say I was very impressed with the staff. PA Jackson worked with me and actually listened to the pain I described having in my neck. She ordered my prescription right away and recommended exercises/ stretches which really helped with my recovery. PA Jackson was very personable and very pleasant to talk with which I can’t say enough about.

I did not have great service at this urgent care. The staff was very unwelcoming and seem annoyed during my check in process. When I met with the doctor, he took a look in my throat for 2 secs and that was it. He said I must have something viral and prescribed me antibiotics. I asked him if it’s viral, antibiotics wouldn’t work. He agreed and still prescribed. Never checked anything else. Ended up going to the hospital few hours later because my pressure was high (my pressure was high when I went but no one said anything. I only know because I glanced at it when the nurse was checking it) and had a high fever. I wish I can get my $15 copay back. I wish I could give them 0 stars.

The people were friendly and professional. They did the check-up fast.

Dr. David is soo kind and knowledgeable! He cares about the wellness of his patients and the community he serves. I usually go to my PCP and spend hours as a walk in . Due to the holidays they were closed and I wanted to avoid the ER. So, glad I gave them a try. The facility is clean and it wasn’t crowded, check in was smooth. Test results were quick and prescribed medication targeted my asthma and flu symptoms. I felt such a difference the next day. Im grateful for this hidden gem. Also, the young lady who did my intake with the petite frame was super pleasant.Thank you

I had a really good experience in AFC. Ive been there before and I always get the best attention. The quality of care is undeniable and all the staff and providers make you safe and welcomed. I was seen by Kadene MK and shes not only a professional, shes also sweet, kind and understanding.

This whole office staff is amazing. The energy is very positive. They are helpful. Kimberly was extremely nice and friendly. Front desk staff was really nice. The doctor was amazing. Very down to earth. I will definitely come back.

BUNGLED FLU TEST: Came here on Weds 1/10 with very bad flu symptoms. I was tested for COVID & flu. Both negative. Dr. Jackson was very nice, but with negative test results, she said i probably had a virus, and it would run its course. Next day, still feeling awful, I called a doctor friend and described the symptoms. She asked if either swab was deep: I said no, and both swabs were barely inside my nostrils. My doctor friend suggested I repeat the flu test: The flu swab should go deep, or you can get a false negative. 2 days later, I Was finally able to get in to a primary care doc at Barnabas, and the nurse there did the rapid test--and it was a very different experience. I tested postive for FLU A. By then, it was too late to start Tamiflu, and I just have to wait it out. It shouldnt be that I have to go to a real doctors office to get a proper test swab. How many false negatives due to human error? LEARN FROM THIS. DO BETTER. TRAIN YOUR STAFF! Administer tests properly so patients can be treated properly. Your mistakes could have serious consequences.

As someone who is in a healthcare professional . They quality of customer service and care is mind blowing . Front desk receptionist Marlene was rude , sat on her cellphone and drinking a milkshake and while telling me to check in through kiosk . After filling out the information on the kiosk , before I could even put my information of insurance on the phone she told me to follow her to triage. I was told the physician couldn’t see me and had to go to ER without even getting a chief complaint as to what brought me in. Turning away a patient in that manner was disgusting . I asked to speak with the physician on staff and asked for the physicians name on staff , she replied she doesn’t know. Physician Assistant ( MacKayla Renee Probasco) finally came in and I, was told that she didn’t tell her staff to turn me away. Now this is where stories changed and lies were revealing. And this point I’m asking names to make a complaint to this so called healthcare establishment . So much more happened , but needless to say , I’ll never be coming here again. Take your health issues to CityMd - where they treat you with care and respect .

Went early on a Sunday morning and it was clean, friendly and super efficient. Will plan on coming back next time I have an urgent care need.

Called several times today and was told there was a 2-2 1/2 hour wait. When I arrived there were 3 cars in the parking lot and ONE person inside. No lights on and when someone returned from the back they told no X-ray technician was available so I had to go to another facility. Perhaps next time they should have a sign on the door regarding no X-ray available today. I now was walking unnecessarily on a swollen foot to be x-rayed. Not the first time I encountered issues at this facility. I go there because of the convenience to my home. They need to and can do better!!!

I came in for severe back pain after treating myself for 4 days with otc remedies. The APN gave me excerises to do at home and initially prescribed pain meds. I asked for a anti-inflammatory shot so I could get faster relief. She appeared taken aback & put out by the request but she agreed. However she the cancelled the prescription. My pain was so bad that it even hurt to breathe. The injection helped alot but here it is 4 days later & I again need medical intervention because otc remedies are not working. I will not be coming back here. The only positive of this encounter was the 2 young ladies that performed the triage & gave me my shot. The front desk attendant left much to be desired as well.

The doctor and staff were fine, but I had an x-ray and wasnt informed that it would be sent out and analysed elsewhere, until I finally asked why I was waiting about 1-1/2 hours in the room with no info. I believe the doctor said that the x-ray place had mistakenly put another x-ray ahead of mine. Usually I like this facility, but I was there from about 9:45 to after noon. Also, the new sign-up via tablet is irritating.

AFC Urgent Care is always reliable, and I know I can trust them with all the unexpected problems life throws my way. Safe, trustworthy, and quick service, this clinic has helped me to get back on my feet more than once. My tech, Kadene, was kind, sensitive, and helpful, and the same always goes for the physicians.

Ladies in the front aren’t the most welcoming, nor was the nurse I saw before the actual doctor. However the doctor herself was a gem. She answered all my questions, very patient, caring overall great bed side manner. Wish I remembered her name.

Rude staff all around and not well maintained. Wont go back - stay as far away as possible from this place.

I went there because their website said they offer rapid Covid testing, and the day before my an important trip I came down with severe Covid symptoms. So I needed a rapid test and doctors note so I could reschedule without expensive cancellation penalties. I arrived, did a lengthy digital checkin giving them all my info, then waited 45 min though no other patients were there, only to be told once I got in the treatment room that they dont offer rapid tests. When I said I had to find another place, they wanted to keep me there to take my vitals and let the doctor decide if rapid testing was necessary, despite me telling them it was. When I declined to let them treat me so my insurance wasnt charged, the young ladies argued with me, the person suffering from illness, that I would be charged anyway. One literally yelled at me for cancelling, even though theyadmitted their website wasnt updated yet.This place wants to make money from you claiming to offer urgent medical care, while being the least-caring set of medical professionals possible. Talk about false advertising. The only thing they care about urgently is making a profit off of people who dont feel well, not patients health needs.

My 14 yesr old daughter and I have come into this urgent care on multiple occasions. There have been issues ranging from Covid test to flu symptoms to a finger injury. I don’t think I have ever gotten better patient care from anywhere than we have from Kadene. she is always so incredibly kind, thoughtful, knowledgeable, patient and overall just a very comforting person to have to see when you’re feeling ill. it always shocks me how she remembers us and always gives us a warm welcome in spite of the hundreds of patients she seen between our last visit. I really can’t say enough for her and the environment she creates especially during moments when things aren’t so great. Simply put- she is the silver lining in our visits to Urgent Care and every patient is lucky to have her!

I waited under an hour, which I felt was very fair since it is a walk in center. I was greeted with friendliness and efficiency.I was seen by Crystal Jackson PA and immediately felt at ease. She asked me questions, listened intently and prescribed what I needed to ensure my issue wouldn’t continue on my vacation.Thank you so much AFC staff for taking good care of me!C Stoudt

I went here yesterday because I rolled my ankle the other day. The woman at the front desk, who also took my X-ray was very nice. However, I wasn’t pleased with the doctor. She wasn’t very welcoming and friendly. She asked me 2 questions about my ankle and then left the room. After the X-ray, I was sent back to the exam room and 5 minutes later, she pops her head in and says “nothing is broken, ice, elevate and Motrin” and walks away. It rubbed me the wrong way and would have been helpful if she gave me more information. I spent $75 for absolutely nothing. Do not recommend this place based on the doctor.

Front desk staff were nice and helpful. Provider/doctor was useless and if you go for 2 problems they will only see you for 1 so choose the more important issue. They dont treat the whole person. Factory style medicine.

Ive had 3 visits to date. The 1st 2 visits were not good. I had problems using the on-line registration - couldnt enter the year for dob so I had to use the manual paper form to do it all over again. Then when a text was sent to my phone I was not able to back out to enter the code in the app in time. The staff wasnt helpful. On the 3rd visit the staff helped but I still had to do the paper registration all over again to complete the process. Also on the 2nd visit the attending doctor did not know why I was there and he never introduced himself or diagnosed me.

Very friendly . Helpful , courteous. I was @ Cedar Grove office , ( they also a 10 . ) had to finish DOT paperwork exam in West Orange office , They took me right in & Mackayla Probasco , Physician Assistant super friendly & informative .

I had a very good experience at Doctors Express West Orange. The doctor was excellent - thorough, understanding, and very helpful. The other staff members were great. The receptionist explained how long I would have to wait, which I appreciated. She was gracious and friendly. The nurse who assisted was also very good, as well as the x-ray technician.I also appreciated the office. It is new and very clean. The colors and decor are warm and relaxing. It was altogether a very good experience. I will definitely go back, if I have to. I have already recommend Doctors Express to my friends. I am a school nurse, so if my families need immediate medical care, I will share this information, as well.

Let me start my saying that I am a healthcare worker. I take healthcare very seriously as a medical laboratory scientist. This was truly the worst healthcare experience I’ve received in my life this far. I came in today to report an abscess. I informed the MA that my blood preserver was high and that I did not take my meds today. She then decided to take my BP 4 times to “get a lower number”. After waiting a while for the PA, I decided to call my mom who is a nurse to update her. The PA walks in, and I say hello. She says “I’m just waiting for you to get off the phone” while rolling her eyes. I explain my pain and I explain why I’m there. I’m offered nothing for pain, I’m simply told to go pick up and antibiotic and go on my way. Not even an ultrasound to ensure that it’s pus or fluid. Just sent me on my way. I’m now at the ER, and being treated. This is not now patients should be treated at all. I would not recommend anyone come here with this horrible bed-side manner.

I used to go here with no issues. But since the pandemic the service is poor. During my most recent visit I waited for more than an hour before I was seen and after returning to the front desk to ask how much longer before I am seen.The doctor who attended to me was great but a wait of more than an hour is much too long. They have to review the wait times, especially when there was literally 3 patients in total.

This place is horrible. I came in because I felt like I had strep throat. I was in so much pain. The doctor told me nothing was wrong and for me to take Tylenol and Advil together. I begged for an antibiotic but she explained that she couldn’t give me any until my test results comes back. I left in pain. I went to the hospital and they explained how I had a fever and strep throat. I left the hospital with a prescription for strep throat and I was grateful. Save your time and do not go here.

**Edit #2: Two days after my son was seen at this urgent care, he was seen by a real pediatrician who confirmed an ear infection in BOTH ears and massively swollen lymph notes. Note that the doctor here claimed my sons ears looked totally fine and just had a lot of wax (even though that wax wouldve precluded seeing any infection). My son was miserably sick two extra days because your horrible service. You should be ashamed.*Editing my update to 1 star after response from the service provider claims that a review of my sons treatment was in line with clinical proceedings. My son was consulted by a Johns Hopkins-trained pediatrician the same day who affirmed a check for appendicitis should certainly have been part of the protocol and that any decent doctor wouldve removed the ear wax to check for an underlying ear infection. Poor service is one thing, but denying responsibility is another. Run from this place.*Had a horrible experience at this place this morning. Arrived at 7:58 before and 8:00 opening and was asked to wait outside (even though it was cold and raining). The people at the front desk had the absolutely no personality or warmth, let alone empathy for sick people. Then the doctor didnt show UP at the office until 8:40. Why would you open at 8:00 if a doctor isnt going to be there. Staff members who took my sons (a scared, very sick 2.5 year old) vitals show absolutely zero compassion and seemed to question me for having in day care in the first place. Doctor was subpar, failing to do some basic tests that our pediatrician suggested he should definitely have done (including checking for appendicitis - a life-threatening emergency, as well doing ear wax removal to be able to accurately look for an ear infection). This place is a disgrace and is part of why people should avoid urgent cares and go to a real doctors office whenever possible.

When I was here, Melissa gave me professional care, was nice, kind, down to earth. She deserves a promotion if not many. Place is great, 5 stars

Dr. Odekunle really helped in explaining my arm pain and helped apply a bandage to help with the swelling and prescribed medication for the inflammation of the pinched nerve.

When I called to make an appointment sonal was completely professional and understanding as well kaolene she was extremely polite and knowledgeable. Marlee the young lady that helped me with my work paperwork was extremely polite, energetic, and complete joy to be around. PLEASE GIVE ALL 3 LADIES A RAISE BECAUSE THEY HOLD THE JOB STANDARDS. Taken quickly and doctor was excellent and provided the prescription that began to help right after using it, drops for severely itching, watering and blurry eyes. Only problem was I had difficulty registering because of eyes and my low tech skills. Staff helped me.

Came in today and was treated wondefuly by the front desk and Dr Odekunle. Everyone in this facility is nice and they helped me immediately in and out. If I need to go to a Urgent care Im only coming here.

I came here at 9am on a Saturday morning . Masks are required. Signed in electronically. Did not have to wait long. I was told after x-rays that I didnt have any fractures and left with a foam shoe and a disc with the x-rays. Not long after leaving I got a follow up call advising that the technician did see issues on the x-rays-I should come back for crutches and follow up with an Ortho, which I did. I would use AFC again.

The nurse was very friendly and courteous, but my problem is with the system of how you check your results. I wasn’t able to go online and check my results, because a receptionist told me they don’t have a patient portal even though they clearly do; It’s on their website. It’s just frustrated because it’s 2023 and I have to go in person to get a copy of my results. I’ve never had this issue with Summit heath urgent care.

After my second visit here, I am pleased to say that my care has remained the same. Caring, thoughtful, and thorough. I arrived needing care for what I discovered, was a fractured foot. The x rays were of great quality, & Dr. Browne’s diagnosis was on the $. He knows his stuff. I found him to be kind and confident. Also a nod to the nurses and x ray tech who were both lovely. And They provided me with crutches and a surgical sandal which has been tremendously helpful! Run, don’t walk to this urgent care. I would if I could..haha

If youd like to be treated well this is a place to come to AFC, you may have a questions they provide you with the answer best way they can the doctor she is awesome the advice she gives is good to know The doctor she has a way whereas you feel very welcome and care for I noticed I didnt leave without unanswered questions.

Terrible experience and will never ever go back. The PA was fine enough but the receptionist and the person who took my medical information were so rude. They acted like they wanted to be anywhere but at their job. Horrible experience. My first time and I will never ever go back.

Dr. Odekunle was very nice and efficient! Same day and no appointment needed for DOT physical. Was in and out. Definitely recommend this branch.

The entire team at this location had extremely poor service and lacked empathy towards me and my family member who needed assistance. We were advised that they don’t treat for stomach pain however that is included on the list of what they treat. Lying to patients is wrong. Why allow us to register if we would not be serviced?

I had an excellent experience at AFC. The process was quick and comfortable, and I can’t speak highly enough about the staff. Priscilla’s outstanding bedside manor and genuine care for my young daughter made the process go very smoothly. Priscilla’s ability to comfort and ease my daughter’s fears through the testing process was amazing. I commend her and will definitely go back. I highly recommend!!!

Dr. Odekunle was great ! The service here is quick and efficient. His staff was was very welcoming and informative.

They made me wait Avery long time to be seen by what they call a doctor not sure about that . She finally came in the room took a look at my face which is why I went there it was broken out very red she said let me go look something up on the computer another 25 minutes went by she cam back sain you probably should go to a dermatologist she prescribed some steroids and a creme. My blood pressure was high when I first went in now at least an hour went bye she told me to go see my doctor about it she was more concerned about my blood pressure than my face which I would believe had something to do with my blood pressure the entire time I was there the doctor stayed three feet away from me never touched me didnt even check me out with a stethoscope. I would never go back there again and by the way the prescription she wrote for the creme was 400 dollars the pharmacist told me not to have it filled he gave me cordozin 10 it was 9 dollars another reason to never go back

The worst ever at an urgent care. Very unprofessional!!! The nurse took my vitals and because I had a high fever ; the Dr who never walk in the room advise to go to the ER. The Dr send the nurse with the message and never came in.Your mission statement is false advertising you should revisit and re write it. Would NEVER step in there again. (West Orange office )I went to another one in 5 minutes they did Covid flu and step and I was positive for flu.It took 10 minutes for all that. That’s the difference between lazy , unprofessional people and people who care and are professionals.

Melissa was wonderful, from first phone call to the time I left. She is a star. The other staff were great...attentive, sensitive and professional.

The staff, Nurse & Dr. were amazing! They are professional, kind & caring. Especially Von the nurse that assisted me prior to the doctor seeing me. She gave me great advise and I followed through and it all worked out for me. I thank you and appreciate dearly. The doctor was kind & caring. I highly recommend AFC Urgent Care in West Orange!

I am writing this review on behalf of my mother. To start off, when she checked in they asked her what she was there for and they pretty much told her they don’t offer services for the condition she was in. They then took her copay and told her she would be seen. Which I found very odd. She wasn’t properly examined but they prescribed her meds based on her symptoms. To top it off she was never told that she was okay to leave and she waited for 20-30 minutes and realized there was no one else there so she decided to go see what was going on. The employees didn’t even know she was still in a room and instead of showing compassion, they said they were sorry while laughing as if that were acceptable. Very unprofessional and majority of the time front desk staff portrays a very nasty attitude.

I had no problems with this urgent care until PA Jackśon (African American woman with brown twist) took over as the physician.On 3 separate occasions I felt very dismissed by her. First time I felt like I was rushed out without proper check up and then heard snickering behind the counter. That same time I left out of the room to go to bathroom and was asked RUDELY by a staff member “where are you going”? Sorry, proper phrase is “may I help you” Second time “again” felt rushed without check up but this time once I left my prescription was suppose to be forwarded over to my pharmacy. After waiting for an hour at my pharmacy and numerous call they sent the prescription 5 before the pharmacy closed and I really needed thisMedication. Last straw was I possibly had food poisoning (ate undercooked meat) and was told they don’t do ultra sounds, in which I replied I’m not here for an ultra sound. Can you run some test and do a stool sample and was told no we don’t do that. I went to another urgent care and they did the stool sample and blood work without me even asking. It’s very safe to say I will never return to this establishment. This PA lacks compassion.

Kadene was my health care agent that attended to me when I came in for a drug screen and she was very patient and educated me properly on the steps to take. The testing was very smooth and fast. Go to Kadene guys. She is the best here.

When I first arrived the line took a little while and it was a little chilly outside but I managed to make it to the front. As soon as I got inside I had to fill out some paperwork but it wasn’t that much and i finished in like 5 minutes. After, I waited about 45 minutes until I was allowed in the room to get tested. Jackie was extremely helpful and answered all my questions. She was able to administer the nasal test to me. She made the process painless and efficient. THANK YOU JACKIE!!!

This urgent care has become my go-to. The staff is courteous & professional. I know that I will be well taken care of and it certainly is way better than an emergency room. I’m very grateful for afc.

Really pleasantly surprised by my experience at this new office in West Orange. First off, it is nice and clean. Very modern. Most of the urgent care places around here are old and not modernized. This one is very modern. All modern/new equipment, flat screen TVs in exam rooms while you wait for a doctor, etc. The nurses are very nice and friendly, as are the employees at the reception desk. I was able to see a doctor named Dr. Browne. He was thorough. Although I came in for a standard migraine, he still took the time to ask me many questions. He was also more than willing to answer my questions about some other medications that could help me. I wouldnt say he was warm and fuzzy, but as a woman, (not a kid), I dont need warm and fuzzy. I will return to this facility when needed without any hesitation. Great option!

Initial wait time was ok, but the nurse was too chatty—was complaining about a previous patient who came in and was just going on and on about the drama. Doctor tested my son for Covid/RSV/and flu and said call for results in 24 hours. I have called 5 times in 3 days and they still don’t have my test results available.
