My experience has been okay. My doctor herself is actually very good and has good bedside manner. I had a crazy delivery of being in active labor for 36 hours, because my baby was sunny side up and lopsided. She ended up getting him out without having to have a c-section, and my baby was perfectly fine. I will say she was in clinic the day I delivered and on the west side and it took her a hour and half to get to me to deliver. I was 10cm at 9:30am and I was pushing at 12, but she didn’t arrive till 2ish so I had to stop because I was so tired. I remember getting to the point of asking the nurse to have the on call doctor deliver me because my body was so worn out and my contractions were starting to slow wayyy down, but my doctor did end up arriving. My baby was born at 3:30pm . I definitely trust her with delivery, but I do feel like there is some over booking because it was honestly awful waiting that long.My doctor had also missed two of my appointments due to delivery, which I completely understand and would hope that would take priority … it’s just that no one told me and I ended up waiting in a exam room for an HOUR.. both times. Which meant I wasn’t seen the first time, even though I waited so long and the second time I had to stand up for myself and ask to be seen by another doctor. If you do call to talk with a nurse during business hours you won’t get your call returned until after business hours.. which kind of defeats calling. So I would say my doctor is great, but I just think it gets over booked.

Dr. Depew is the BEST there is in his field! I have been seeing him for 30 years! I first saw him as an intern when I had an accident as a teenager and then with my first child when I was 20, my 2nd, 3rd, and 4th child. He has also seen me through 4 miscarriages. He is very patient, kind, understanding, gentle and Always listens to his clients concerns. It will be a sad day when he decides to retire. I ALWAYS recommend him and this office to anyone who asks for a Doctor in the gynecological field! ❤️

I had my tubes and ovaries removed by Dr. Uppendahl at Wesley Medical Center 3/8 (look at my review there for more info on the actual surgery). I met with him several times leading up to and once after the surgery. He asked multiple times if I was sure I wanted to go through with the surgery. I was 24 when I started the process and 25 when I ended up having the surgery. I have a BRCA 2 gene mutation that can cause 5 different types of cancers including ovarian and brest cancer. I wanted to have my tubes and ovaries removed to lower the cancer risk. He told me many times that having this surgery would put me into instant menopause which takes 6 months off of your life at my age and I would become sterile. One of the reasons he was being so cautious was because of the history of forced sterilizations of women. I told him every time that I knew the risks and I knew I’d never be able to have my own kids and I don’t want to. I’ve been planning to adopt since I was in elementary school and my 26 years have only made me want it more. Especially because the BRCA 2 mutation is dangerous. Aside from the cancers, if I have a kid with someone who also has the gene and my kid gets 2 copies of it, it causes such extreme anemia that the kid doesn’t usually live long enough to even start kindergarten. I don’t want to ever put my kid or myself through that kind of horrible life.We went ahead with the surgery and he said I just had to decide whether I wanted to keep my uterus or get rid of it as well. He said it wouldn’t really affect the surgery or the recovery time. The only difference would be that I’d have to get a different kind of hormone therapy after the surgery instead of just continuing my birth control. It wouldn’t affect anything else. I said I’d keep the uterus so I could just stick with what I have. The day of the surgery, he told my mom he’d go to the waiting room to speak with her as soon as he got done. He never showed up so we asked the nurses and one eventually called him when they couldn’t find him. He said that he had gotten pulled away for an emergency but he did try to find my mom in the waiting room. He said he talked to the lady in charge and she told him she hadn’t seen my mom. When my mom talked to her, she said she’d never seen him. About a month after the surgery, I started having my periods again and I was worried that something might be wrong since getting rid of my ovaries was supposed to stop me from bleeding. It was after hours so I called the after hours number and the woman took down my info and sent a message for Uppendahl to call me back. He called about an hour later while he was driving with kids in the car. He was very distracted and I don’t think he really heard what either of us was saying. He told me at one point that it was “normal abnormal bleeding” and when I asked what I should do, he told me to skip a week of birth control and just go to the placebo pills but then he later said to just continue with the pills as normal and we’d talk about it at my next appointment. At that next/last appointment, I was waiting for over an hour. I wasn’t told until I’d been there for 30 minutes that he was running late. When I finally saw him, he explained that leaving my uterus in actually did have more of a difference than he told me. If my uterus had been removed, I wouldn’t have any of the correct parts to be able to still bleed. So I’m still going to bleed as long as I continue taking my hormone therapy but if I don’t take it, I’ll shave 6 months off my life and go into instant menopause. I also found out from my PCP that usually the only reason they leave the uterus is if I had my eggs harvested or if I might want to use donor eggs. Because removing the ovaries only means I could still carry a child if I wanted. So it seems like he lied to me to get me to “choose” the option he thought was best. Seems like, by trying to not forcibly sterilize me, he became just as bad and just as self-absorbed and uncaring. He ignored what I wanted and coerced me into doing what he thought was best.

I’ve went multiple times with Melocarro and she’s very condescending. I’ve never felt listened to and it felt she didn’t even want to be there. So now I can reschedule AGAIN or wait for her nurse. So plan for that when you have to take time off of work for an appointment because you will not be back in time.Update- i got to the office at 145, my appointment was at 2, they told me at 210 she was out of the office. Its is now almost 3 and I am still waiting to be seen.2nd update- was finally seen by Angela Hansen, APRN- she was great, very kind and attentive. Will start scheduling with her from now on but will also be keeping my options open else.

Ive always had good experiences here, from 2010 when I was pregnant with my twins, to now, when I sought out routine screening I should have done years ago. The front desk staff was courteous and professional. I feel badly for not remembering her name, but the nurse who I interacted with was very kind and helpful. Huge shout out to Dr. Schuknecht. She was empathetic, direct, helped calm my anxiety, and was an all around delight to visit with. She is easy to talk to and sharp as a tack! Finally, Ive used the patient messaging system and have been very impressed with my experiences there, too. Lacy responded to my messages promptly and was so kind and helpful. Ive seen both Dr. Morgan (before he retired) and Dr. Rainbolt several years prior.Dr. Morgan was fantastic and performed a conical to remove precancerous/cancerous cells. He was great, professional, and quick.Dr. Rainbolt on the other hand not so much. Shes sweet and bubbly but when she did the Essure procedure (now discontinued due to its horrible risks and perforations) put two coils in one fallopian tube, which regularly stabs my right ovary and has caused cysts to develop in the area. The only way to stop it is to have the whole tube and ovary removed. So I can either live with stabby pain or pay out the nose and have a partial hysterectomy...Dr. Morgan was great though, sad hes retired now.

I had an appt today and unfortunately got lost and ended up walking into Wesley hospital instead of the OBGYN office. Im new to Wichita and following the GPS it took me around the opposite side of the street from where the clinic was located when my GPS said I had arrived. I called the clinic and tried speaking to the receptionist to let them know that I walked into the wrong building and would now be running late. I was still unaware that the clinic was a little further up the street when I made the call standing inside of the hospital as I was trying to tell the receptionist that I was lost. I was met with a very rude and unprofessional receptionist who literally said, if you put the correct address in the GPS it would have taken you here--As if its impossible for the GPS to tell you that youve made it to a destination prematurely! Instead of telling me that the clinic was just further up from the hospital she repeated that if I knew how to work a GPS I wouldve made it to the right clinic. She literally said that. Once I made it to the clinic after driving down 3 floors in the parking garage, I stood in front of the receptionist desk where I apparently, before forgetting how to work a GPS, put on a invisibility cloak. I watched (with no greeting) as two receptionist stared blankly at their computer screens without acknowledging that I was standing there. After an awkward amount of time passed, a receptionist finally asked if I needed something. I walked over and told her how I ended up late to my appt. Without acknowledging anything that I said, she asked for my paperwork. So...when I made the appt a week earlier, the receptionist (different one) told me that since my appt was so close she wasnt going to send any paperwork in the mail because it wouldnt make it in time. *Flash forward to present day appt, I told the current receptionist this. She proceeded to call the Dr. in my face and say that not only was I late (leaving out that I got lost without any assistance from previous receptionist) that I also failed to complete any paperwork. At this point I had decided that although I NEEDED this appt, there were too many disrespectful occurrences that I no longer felt safe to be examined or helped. I called earlier and spoke to Krystal who was actually helpful, understanding, and apologetic. However, although Krystal stated that action would be taken, I felt that this needed to be stated in a review because issues with the receptionist is apparently a common issue at this clinic.

Wife and I are having our first child. The first appointment we thought would just be a pregnancy test and we were pretty sure so I didn’t take off work (from my new job) for it. They did way more than a pregnancy test (sonogram and other things). I arrived with her for our second appointment to be turned away at the door, apparently I was only allowed at the first appointment, They never told us that. I asked for an exception and was told there’s no possibility of that. They have terrible communication. The doctor said I could come to the appointments with the sonograms but now she’s saying the doctor won’t be at the sonogram appointment and it’s just a sonogram. So I’m basically never allowed to talk to the doctor and my wife forgets details when she’s not pregnant. We’re in our second trimester with almost no information from the doctors. We’ve received more information from free resources and friends. I would not recommend this office to expecting parents who want the husband to be involved in any way.Update: I was allowed to go to a sonogram today! I didn’t expect to be allowed, but while upstairs I learned they have different oversight, the ladies upstairs sounded surprised I wasn’t allowed to come to the normal appointments. While in the building I learned a lot about how they feel about following guidelines and expect to be allowed to the rest of the appointments. I walked past a women who wasn’t told anything about her mask not being on and talked with an employee who was not wearing a mask in a confined space that did not allow for social distancing. If the mask is required “for safety reasons” isn’t enforced, why should the policy of only the patient “for safety reasons” be any different? I will be calling to talk to someone directly this week. However the most exciting part of being pregnant for a father has already been ruined, so the best I can do is try to help other new first time fathers be allowed to come hear their baby’s heartbeat with their wife for the first time, or actually be aware of what’s happening if their wife is like mine and forgets 60% of the details 70% of the time when not pregnant (if that’s your wife, sorry it just gets worse with pregnancy).

Dr.Kuhlman was amazing when We had our daughter(only reason I give 2 stars). Years later I was thrilled to have him for another pregnancy. I didn’t realize that I had a small balance($20-30), it had to be paid before they would even consider scheduling me. Being high risk, I had a sono at 6 wks and saw the doc where it was discovered that I had a cyst the size of a hockey puck on one of my ovaries. After the appointment, I was taken to billing and told since I had a prior balance that I would have to pay everything upfront prior to receiving services, amounting to 3k+ more then my deductible to the sum of $5-600 per month for the duration of my pregnancy. Even that day they wanted $500, which is understandable to some degree, but unnecessary to ask for thousands more then ones deductible. Within a week I had a devastating miscarriage. After having multiple miscarriages prior, I knew that the one I was experiencing was much different than I had experienced before due to the uncontrollable amount of blood loss. Surgery was soon scheduled to remove the cyst and to do a D&C. I expressed concerns regarding the amount of blood loss prior to this surgery and the day of the surgery. My sister being an RN was also there and was insistent on them checking my hemoglobin due to this blood loss and symptoms I had started to experience, but, we were told that It was checked days prior to surgery being scheduled and that it was fine and that bleeding should substantially decrease afterwards and I would return to “normal” shortly thereafter. After the procedure, urinating was extremely painful I truly dreaded going to the bathroom. I’ve had catheters placed before and slight irritation afterwards, but nothing compared to this, absolutely NOTHING. It felt as though my bladder had been stitched to something as the pain and pulling intensified each time I emptied my bladder and as my bladder emptied. This concern was brought up to the doctor who informed me it was normal and that it should decrease more with time. It literally took about 2-3 months to stop. Now years later, my bladder doesn’t drain the way that it used to and often the stream is very minimal. I’ve had blood in my urine ever since then, and still don’t know why. Days after surgery I began having more symptoms ALL of which SCREAMED low hemoglobin. I immediately called the office and spoke with dr.Kuhlman expressing my concerns of all of my symptoms(weak, fatigue, pounding heart with any and all activity, slight shortness of breath, pounding headache when not at rest, and vertigo when standing). He was very short with me, acting as though I was over exaggerating my symptoms and then tells me that it sounds more like a heart issue and that I need to go see a cardiologist, not him. I was appalled! I informed him that I’ve NEVER had any heart issues or heart related issues in my life and again that my sister being an RN was also very insistent on having my hemoglobin checked due to my symptoms. His response,” well I mean I guess we could check it for you. We wouldn’t even get the results back for a few day anyhow. I was literally in tears as I hung up the phone. I ended up going to the ER. I explained what had happened in which the nurse and doctor could not believe it. My hemoglobin ended up being 8.2 nearly requiring a blood transfusion. I had to get iron transfusions and was off of work for nearly 3 weeks. At 18 and 36 wks pregnant I had a massive placenta abruption. The doctor I had prior insisted that I had a bladder infection and disregarded everything that I had told him ultimately resulting in the death of my son. Being in the medical field 18 years I realize that doctors are not always miracle workers. Accidents and mistakes do happen; they are people just like us, BUT if you fail to listen to your patients and you fail to act accordingly it goes far beyond an accident or a mistake and I refuse to have such a doctor as my provider for anything regardless of past performance.

I am angry, doctor Morgan would told a patient that has been fighting cancer for almost 10 years that she should just give up and that she (Dr. Morgan) wont treat her. Doctors elsewhere will treat her with no problem. No one , absolutely no one has the right to tell a patient to give up and just die.Its not like she (the doctor) isnt getting paid, if someone wants to fight then let them fight. Its not your choice if someone should quit fighting. She said she didnt want to kill the paitent by treating her, but not getting treatment will kill her. Just faster and in more discomfort and pain. If you want to get treated for long term cancer go elsewhere.
