Planned Parenthood - Wichita Health Center

I have been coming here for birth control for years and have only had good experiences, but my appointment with Kathleen takes the cake. She is hilarious, made me feel comfortable and taken care of, and is great at her job. She even gave me my IUD in a cute little biohazard bag to take home.It’s probably weird to say this, but I had a great time getting my birth control switched, and I’ll keep supporting Planned Parenthood and the vital work they do for our community.

Kaylene is the worst provider. She does not take patient concerns into consideration when providing care. While she can be nice, she will ignore your concerns and provide care based on what she wants to do and not based on what you may need. Beware.

Thankful for the services they provide. The nurses and doctors there are truly caring. Although they may be overworked, they still find time to smile and do a great job.

I have been trying for months and months now just to schedule my HRT appointment check up, and EVERY TIME they cancel on me or that their system are down. Plan Parenthood has really let me down and for the last time... I will NOT be going here for my HRT appointments ever again. I DO NOT recommend plan Parenthood for any HRT related appointments ever. As soon as I can get my hormone therapy in check with this other doctor, I will COMPLETELY discontinue of any use of this clinic that I have.

Been using this clinic for a year and it was really amazing until the last month. I called a few weeks ago to get info about an appointment that suddenly changed dates on me over a text and the woman on the phone said the system was down so she couldnt give me info about my appointment and for me to call in a few weeks on the 31st, which is weird customer service already. I called today (the 31st) and was told my appointment had been completely changed (I had requested telehealth and was told it was now in person despite saying weeks prior I couldnt do that) and was told I needed to call a third party to get another later date lined up if I want telehealth. Canceled my appointment, gave me an incorrect one, then told me to fix it myself at a much later time than I needed. I said that doesnt work for me, as I did weeks ago, and have just been left on hold for 20 minutes. They became really lax with wanting to assist at this location.

I wish this could be my primary care provider. Everyone here (including the security guard) were friendly, helpful, and genuinely caring. The only drawback was being proselytize in the parking lot, and even that was low-key and caring, not offensive.

I was very nervous and skeptical about coming to a planned parenthood for hormone therapy, I am FTM. When I arrived at my first appointment I was greeted with such a warm smile and vibrant energy from the front desk associate. She helped me with all my questions and anxieties even though she seemed so busy, she was still so attentive and caring. The nurse took me back really soon after, much quicker than my primary care doc, hardly a wait at all. The nurse was so nice and understanding about my phobia of needles while doing bloodwork and I truly didnt even feel the prick. Best experience ever with bloodwork. Dr Ashley Miller greeted me before bloodwork and spoke to me like a friend, I didnt feel stupid or intimidated like I do with most doctors. We discussed my situation and the doctors appointment was over. Smooth sailing. I wanted to share this story because any Transsexual, Transgender or anyone needing bloodwork or any service, for that matter, need to know how accepting and loving they are here. After going for months I noticed there were only those three women working everytime. Those three amazing women run that whole facility dealing with everyone and all personalities. The fact that they choose to be there all the time and have such positive attitudes is a rare quality in a business. Thank you Ladies at Planned Parenthood for making me feel like family everytime I call and come in. The doctor is a scary place. I truly am so appreciative of everything you do every day, not just for me but all your patients.

After nursing school (4 semesters of clinical), being a patient at Stormont ER in Topeka, being a veteran patient at the VA health care center in Topeka, and being a family visitor of a patient at Stormont I had, with all my honesty, completely lost any trust I had in healthcare. I came to this center in crisis and they restored some of everything I lost for the US healthcare field. They were kind, respectful, attentive, confident, and timely. I don’t think that situation for me could have been made any better for me than the staff here did. The doctor is amazing. Her presence was exuberant and confident and made me feel safe. I was there for 20 minutes and somehow I left smiling and feeling hopeful. The doctor told me she would call me when (estimated following Monday) test results came in and a plan of action.. before noon Monday she followed through and she initiated the start of a desperately needed therapy for me. I’m still shocked out how it was nearly effortless. This is how healthcare should be. Thank you to all of the people, the secretary included, for treating me with care and respect.

Experience on the phone and in person was great, no issues. Did get shuffled around from room to room during my visit but they were pretty busy that day. Overall, i felt comfortable, everything was explained accordingly and professionally!

I waited on the phone for 15 minutes just to be greeted by a rude woman, who didnt listen to what I said, and talked down to me. I had a few questions and felt planned parenthood could best assist me, but I dont think I want to be a patient here anymore. Ive heard great things about the program itself, but the lady who answered the phone really ruined it for me.

Ive only had a positive experience at this facility. The staff is super nice and informative. Ive always felt very comfortable, they offer a safe judgement- free place to be yourself and get the medical attention you need.

RUDE. I paid 90 for my birth control visit and I wanted to talk to my practitioner about changing to my pill and was transfer to a different extensive. Then I called again and was put on hold for more than 10 min! ridiculous. I did not feel respected. never will go to this place again!

God forbid you make an HRT appointment. They Cancelled twice and now I can’t even get an appointment as they “don’t have anything on the schedule” they suggested I go to KC which is 3 hours away from me…

Planned parenthood? More like planned abortion. Their goal is not to help you through parenthood. It’s to convince you to abort your baby. Don’t do it.

I’ve been going here since I was 18 (7 years) for my womens health appts. Ashley is amazing, as well as the staff. Always patient and understanding and I’ve never had any issues

I’ve had my best healthcare experiences at this facility. Gone multiple times for check ups and birth control.

The worst place they are so rude my appointment was at 10 and sat in the waiting room for 6 hours …. Everyone was judge except for Ashley she walked me through it and talk to me through stuff.

If you were raised how I was you may have a negative reaction to hearing the words Planned Parenthood, but consider this: Only 3% of the services PP provides are abortion services. STI/STD Testing & Treatment makes up 41%, Contraception and education makes up 34%, Cancer Screening and Prevention make up 10%, Other Women’s Health Services make up 11%, Abortion Services 3%, Other Services 1%. PP provides the education and prevention tools that many parents fail to. They do more to prevent unplanned pregnancies than any other organization, PP is a vital resource for the town of Wichita.

Planned Parenthood helped me when I was pregnant with my first child. So grateful for a wonderful safe place to go!
