Dr. Assia A. Stepanian, MD

Dr. Stepanian is truly a life changer! She is beyond fabulous. Finding her has brought me immense happiness, and in my personal opinion, she has saved my life. Her exceptional knowledge of the female anatomy, along with her caring and understanding nature, makes you feel valued as a patient. Her willingness to take time to answer questions and her genuine concern for her patients is truly heartwarming. The fact that she personally called to check on me in the hospital after my surgery meant the world to me. Choosing her as your OBGYN will be a decision you wont regret. Additionally, her staff is also incredibly professional, very friendly, and caring, creating a welcoming environment. I used to dread visiting the OBGYN, but now I look forward to seeing her.

I had a procedure done back in March, and I have to say my experience was amazing. I was skeptical at first, but Dr. Assia was very kind in explaining everything to me and I cannot be even more grateful to be in great hands. It took me around 2 to 3 1/2 weeks to feel better, but even now after months of the procedure you can barely see my scars. Dr. Assia and her team are great and I highly recommend them!

I was referred to Dr Stepanian by a local moms group where several patients described her as caring, patient and attentive but I honestly found her to be quite the opposite.I’ve been to her several times describing a recurring issue that I had been having. Although the issue wasn’t complicated or earth shattering she never offered any remedy and she wasn’t helpful at all. With me she was dismissive and rude and I feel like my visits, although expensive, were a complete waste of time. I won’t be back.

She’s a very compassionate, caring doctor who will take the time to listen to your concerns and will get to the root of it. I appreciate that she doesn’t rush appointments and that she tries to understand why something is happening, rather than just rushing to procedures.

Dr. Stepanian is a highly skilled doctor and surgeon. She knows how to treat many disorders. She is very kind and took great care with my procedure. Pre and post operative appointments were always handled with patience by the doctor and her staff. Dr. Stepanian answered all my questions and provided excellent care. I felt such a relief to find someone who had the skills and many years of experience to treat a complicated condition. All The entire staff is consistently kind, patient, efficient, professional, and skilled.

Dont hesitate to make an appointment with Dr. Stepanian. Shes brilliantly wise, exceptionally thorough, personally warm, and she will figure out whats going on in your body. I originally went to her for endometriosis pain that had been debilitating for nearly 30 years, and I have now been entirely pain-free since she performed my surgery two years ago. Yes, you may wait a little longer than at other practices, but its because Dr. Stepanian is taking care to know her patients, to listen to them, and to treat them as a whole person. She is WELL worth the wait. The entire staff (especially Regina at the front desk!) is warm and cheerful and caring beyond anything Ive ever seen in a healthcare practice. Make an appointment--you wont be sorry.

I have visited with some great doctors; Dr. Stepanian is in a class by herself. I saw her when I was in the worst pain that I had ever experienced in my life. In my opinion she is an amazing physician and an outstanding surgeon. From a visual standpoint, my scars are barely noticeable after having two surgeries.What I have to elaborate on is how Dr. Stepanian made me feel. For a person in pain, filled with anxiety over the possibilities that are going on in your body, overwhelmed by medical terms and procedures you do not fully understand; Dr. Stepanian treated me like a family member. I have said this and live by this statement, “Treat people like they are your family members as you serve them - be it a mother, father, grandparent, etc., someone you care deeply for.” Dr. Stepanian has mastered this skill.I recall being in her office afraid and almost in tears. She hugged me as she introduced herself. That hug went a long way. It was necessary for me that moment because I did not know what was happening to my body. Dr. Stepanian listened to my concerns; afterwards, she explained how she would examine me to identify the source of my pain. As she completed the examination, she talked me through what she was doing, located the problem area, and validated my pain based on her discovery. I was present options to address my pain and achieve my goals for my body.During my last surgery, I experienced unrelated health scare. The illness had caused me to go from an out-patient to admission was frightening. Dr. Stepanian followed up with my family member and learned I had been admitted in the hospital. She communicated with me immediately. I was not another case, patient, or surgery. I was a human being who she was concerned about and was involved in understanding what was happening to me, as well as my treatment plan.She comforted me and my loved one there with me. After her visit, she remained in contact with me until I began to feeling better and had a follow-up with another doctor in a different field. She even conversed with that doctor to ensure I had the best treatment for a full recovery.This was a very memorable experience for me and my family. Dr. Stepanian is forever in my prayers. I also want to take a moment and recognize her staff, the front office, nurses, and administrative team members because they were thoughtful, caring, personable, and professional. This office and team are stellar.It is a pleasure to share my experience. I would recommend Dr. Stepanian a million times over!

The Best Physician. In fact another physician referred her to me stating she is “The Doctor of all Doctors” and he couldn’t of said it better. The staff there from the Receptionist Ms. Regina, Nurse Katherine, and all the Nurses are kind, gentle, and courteous. They truly create a beautiful environment which is a reflection of their own hearts. I personally was searching for a Highly skilled empathetic Dr and Dr Assia Stepanian is beyond that. She is gifted. Prior to visit I researched her credentials, the dedication and research she has done through the course of her career is unmatched. Not to mention she comes from a lineage of great physicians as her Mother is a highly skilled physician, and together they are the pioneers of minimally invasive procedures and Dr Stepanian has mastered that! The years of research and dedication is admirable! It’s unbelievable how skilled Dr Stepanian is. I am Truly Honored to have been touched by her. I was seen with Great Care and because of her skills and her ability to empathize she made what appeared to be one of the scariest decisions/experience a warm secure and even graceful experience. I saw Dr. Stepanian for my annual because I got new insurance that wasnt accepted by the practice Id been going to for years (Roswell OBGYN = AMAZING), and although she did seem nice, Im looking for someone else because she was very pushy about me having kids. My partner and I (30 & 33 years old) arent sure we want to have kids - especially right now - and while I didnt mind her explaining the potential risks that come with having children in your mid to late thirties, I DID mind that she made her personal opinion very blatant and to me it seemed like she was low-key trying to pressure me into having them now.Healthcare providers should always respect patients preferences, even if they dont agree with them. They should let you know your options and provide the information needed for you to make an informed decision, but their personal beliefs and values should never come into play, especially about something as life-changing as having children. Like I said, she was nice, but the experience rubbed me the wrong way and I wont be going back.

Dr. Stephanian was the first doctor to ask me what I wanted. Other consults I went through, only focused on the removal of my fibroids, by any means necessary. Im single, with no kids, but that shouldnt mean I have to make such a final decision so abruptly, and Dr. Stephanian let me know that. She cared. I truly believe I had the best recovery (3 weeks post op and back to do my normal activities) because she cares.

The staff is super friendly but the wait is ridiculous. In there for 3 hours! Dr Assia is more concerned regarding billing and extra tests she can get you to do vs your health. She tried to scare you into doing more blood work and what not then on video to say it’s normal no worries. The wait and money making process is a let down.

Dr Stepanian was extremely kind and her staff was wonderful. She gave me very encouraging words in my time of need. She also shared with me an emotional story about depression and asked me to stay encouraged and know that I am loved. She said “bad experiences in life helps us to see the true beauty in life”. I am glad I found her!

Doctor Assia has literally saved my life! Without her help, who knows where I would be today.During my regular check-up visit she identified a problem that should be taken care ASAP. She was very clear about my options and provided very detailed information, which helped me to make educated decision. Then Dr. Assia and all her stuff office acted super efficiently to finalize all the pre-op procedures and paperwork needed to go ahead. As the result, the whole journey took less than 2 months - from my initial diagnose to the procedure itself. All this time Dr. Assia and her amazing Team kept me informed and reassured in the successful outcome.So, I came absolutely ready and well prepared to the upcoming procedure. It went as smoothly and easy as promised. My recovery was amazing. On the next day of the procedure, I was literally dancing and had to remind myself to take it easy!Overall I am so thankful to amazing Doctor Assia and all her Team! I cannot say enough about Dr. Stepanian! She truly cares about her patients and was extremely knowledgeable and very encouraging about an under-diagnosed condition I have related to infertility. She helped me see hope in my situation and always took extra time to listen to all of my questions. Without hesitation, I wanted Dr. Stepanian to perform my recommended surgery as I felt fully comfortable with her from the moment I met her. She truly was a God-send for me and such a big part of my recent journey to healing! She will forever be one of my favorite doctors. (And just FYI, her office is extremely cautious during this COVID season.)

My journey with Dr. Stepanian began almost a year and a half ago. I came to her with Stage IV Endometriosis. From the first appointment, I could tell how attentive and patient she is with her patients. She listened to me, let me share my concerns and worked with me to create a plan. She was there during every step of my struggle, even when I was technically out of her care. It has been 9 months since my last surgery and I recently had a check up. I was so happy to share the amazing progress that I have had over the last several months. Dr. Stepanian is the kind of caring person that doesn’t just take note of your accomplishments, but rejoices with you in them. I could go on and on about how compassionate she is, however, I do not want to leave out the fact that she is a meticulous surgeon and is constantly working on new research and innovations in her field. Do not let the thought of a slight wait in her office keep you from getting the care you need. This only means that she takes her time and listens to her patients, giving thorough attention to each person she sees. I am so thankful to Dr. Stepanian, not only for the amazing results, but for being there at every step of the way.

Dr. Stepanian was referred to me by my internist who told me he felt she was one of the best Drs. in Atlanta. I have never been disappointed. She asked me a lot of questions and was very gentle and kind in manner. Since I am no longer in my child bearing years there are several issues that I need to discuss with her and she listens attentively and offers me alternatives that didnt require surgery. She takes a lot of time with each of her patients which is why sometimes you may have a wait. Id prefer that rather than being rushed out the door with only 1/2 my questions answered because the Dr. knows she/he has more patients lined up! (If waiting is a concern for you, make your appt. for early in the morning.) Every time I see her, she is thorough and like a breath of fresh air!

Yet that is exactly what happened to me. However, looking back, I am glad I was told that, or else I would have never met Dr. Assia Stepanian. The staff at her office is always kind and professional. They had the same sense of gentleness and caring as their leader. Admittedly, when I first went to the office, I was very nervous, even if I didn’t show it externally. From that visit, I could tell how attentive and gentle Dr. Stepanian is with her patients. She listened to me and my husband, let us share our concerns, worked to create a plan that worked for us, and gave us her personal cell number in case we had any questions. Days before the surgery, her office staff completed blood work that I could not get an appointment for at the hospital due to Covid-19. The evening before the surgery I got a call from Dr. Stepanian to ensure all my questions and concerns were addressed and wishing me a good night’s rest.I mean how many surgeons do that? The surgery went well, and I am recovering nicely, but my story does not end there. Dr. Stepanian followed up with my reproductive specialist’s office several times about my case when I was not getting a straight response. She did not let my case fall through the cracks. I have told my story to several friends, coworkers, and family members, and would 1000% recommend Dr. Stepanian and her staff to all of them.If you are looking for a physician that specializes in women’s health, I highly recommend you at least seek a consult with Dr. Stepanian. She truly is one of kind and worth your time.

Dr. Stepanian is the BEST GYN I have ever seen! Yes, you sometimes have to wait, but she will take all the time with you that you need and that is exactly what I want when I need a doctor!!! I had been with my previous GYN for over 30 years. I had super low iron and really bad periods. My old GYN had not thought to order an ultrasound. So my yearly physician ordered one, they saw a fibroid, and so she recommended Dr. Stepanian to me. I had to go to the ER because my cycle was SO bad, Dr. Stepanian got on the phone with the ER doctor and walked with her through my treatment!! The ER doctor took her name to use her - she said she has never heard of a Dr putting that much care in their patient. Finally we decided on surgery and I was so prepared thanks to Dr. Stepanian. Today - 6 weeks later my iron is NORMAL and I feel great!!! I am willing to spend time on myself and waiting is part of it - when you are waiting for the best most caring Dr I have experienced.

I came to Dr. Assia just to do a check up and make sure everything was good to go. She was very kind, it felt i was visiting an older sister more than a doctor. She spoke very low and kind. She did my exam and kept me informed. She also introduced me to my amazing OBGYN.The staff is very tentative, the respond quickly and book you quickly.I am glad I booked my appointment with her.

Love her and her staff.She is very knowledgable and as important she is a great listener and actually cares for you. She is responsive to your needs at all times, even called me one evening a few days after surgery to check up on me.I highly recommend. If there was one thing to say is that her appointments run long and you may be waiting for a while BUT only because she never rushes her patients and takes her time with every detail. Dr. Assia A. Stephanian has been a blessing in my life. She is God sent in my finding her as my gynecologist professional. I had severe fibroid tumors, and excruciating pain with my monthly cycles. Dr. Stepanian was finally able to convince me to have surgery to relieve my pain. It was the BEST thing in my life for which I could have ever done. The pain was no more. I fought for years in regards to not having the surgery done. I had fears overwhelm me in regards to having the procedure done, because I did not know how it would affect me as a woman afterwards. Dr. Stepanian is a God fearing woman, she is a professional and she takes care of us as women. She prides her studies on understanding our anatomy. Her bedside manners are impeccable and I don’t think I’ll ever stop going to her as my doctor. I Saw Dr. Stepanian for the first time this week, I found her to be a warm,wonderful, caring, understanding person! She took her time, ask me what my concerns where. She is exactly what the definition of DOCTOR should be: very knowledgeable, caring, understanding, and takes the time to explain your diagnosis along with options at a level that is comforting. I was giving a diagnosis by another doctor that left me scared and in the dark. After 5 minutes with Dr Stepanian I felt at ease and that I was going to be okay. A wonderful doctor. She is cutting edge, so if you dont like that, she is not for you. She is very loving and you can tell that she has a rich depth of spirituality. Very knowledgeable and on top of her game. She can run late so book your appointment first thing in the morning if you dont like waiting.

Love the Doctor! I had some problems with the medications and left message at the office during holiday time. Dr. Assia Stepanian personally return my phone call and when contacted pharmacy and resolve the problem even it was almost New Years Eve. Dr. Step has been my doc for a while now and I absolutely love her. She is excellent and finding what the issue is and solving the problem. She makes you feel comforable in every way. It is sometimes difficult to find a physician to listen to you and include you in the plan of action, I have found that in Dr. Step...she is a gem.
