Dr. Dwight Im is a truly exceptional surgeon who saved my life. After being misdiagnosed by previous doctors who left part of my cervix and uterus, I faced the terrifying reality of uterine leiomyosarcoma. A very rare and aggressive cancer. Dr. Im stepped in and performed an incredibly intricate surgery to remove five tumors, including tumor debulking, oophorectomy, and hysterectomy. Along with several other procedures for my bladder and rectum where these tumors had spread. His expertise and precision in correcting the mistakes made by others are beyond commendable.But what sets Dr. Im apart is not just his surgical skill—he is also one of the kindest, most caring, and compassionate doctors I have ever met. He treats his patients with the utmost respect and integrity, making you feel heard and supported through every step of the process. Dr. Im is truly the best at what he does, and I am deeply grateful to him. Dr.Im is an excellent doctor. He is highly respected by medical community and his patients. Dr.Im performed my surgery on 7/8/2024 after discussing in detail what my condition and options were. I had a total hysterectomy. I went in confident in his ability and the full understanding of everything that was to be done. I’m home recovering and would recommend any woman with long unresolved issues seek his help.

I had a procedure done yesterday 10/9/2023 to remove my right cyst because it was growing. I had endometriosis beginning of December 2022 a 3.5 cm cyst. Because the cyst was enlarging it was giving me all type of side effects to my body like: bloating, feeing Full, going to the bathroom all the time, insomnia, anxiety that led to burping, fainting, lightheaded, headaches.. and so forth! I was going in and out the hospitals twice a month. My pain was getting worst with vomiting and nausea. I was recommend to Dr. I’m from my Primary Care Doctor and when I set up the appointment it was so easy. His team are just so generous and kind. I went to see Dr. Im at his office and he was so patient, he greeted me with a smile and was so kind. He said “we have to get it out, because it’s going to keep growing.” I totally agreed with him. I remember that John Hopkins was just trying to give me birth control and call it a night. But a cyst that’s in enlarging birth controls aren’t going to help a cyst that keeps growing. So I honestly stopped taking birth control because it made me have side affects and is not good for my body. The day of my procedure the staff was just simply amazing. The people in the surgery were so understanding and sweet. They made me feel safe and at home. Dr. Im is so professional that he even said that there was scars in my uterus and he cleaned it out to make sure I have a healthy uterus. Which is great because by next year I want to have a baby. After losing two of my children. None of these doctors that I ever went to get a d&c or any further evaluation told me I had scarring except Dr. Wight Im. I then knew that I was in good hands and he made sure the procedure was done right and took his time to actually clean my uterus. Dr. Wight Im saved my right ovary because at 5.5-6 cm a cyst could go into a torsion. So I want to thank my doctor Dr. Dwight for removing what needed to remove in my body. I feel relieved and a lot better actually. I am home resting at the moment but I am truly thankful for this procedure and my doctor and the staff at Mercy. They are THE BEST OF THE BEST ❤️🙏🏻 I recommend to all the women out there to visit him and get those procedure done by him, because he knows what he is doing. Not only that but he love what he does because he has a passion for it and also love his client. Dr.IM was amazing from the day of my Consultation to the morning of my surgery. DR. IM is a very friendly human with compassion & empathy. I can tell he enjoy what he does & he’s very fast & efficient. His team represents him well. Thank you to Brian also the anesthesiologist. He was very friendly. I had a myomectomy procedure on 3/22/2024 & I already feel better. 4 day post op & I have my upper strength. Using the BLT. No bending, no lifting, no twisting.

Dr. Dwight IM is amazing. I had a cyst removed measuring 9cm that caused months of pain. My surgery was performed 3/6/2024. I was one of his most difficult surgeries to date , but with his skills and years of experience he was able to get the job done robotically. I am very emotional as I type this. Dr Im came highly recommended. And he proved at a literal glance that he is an expert in his field. He glanced and said, Im going to get you better. He had to do his surgery in order for me to have a much more needed major surgery performed by another doctor. He is kind, friendly and caring. Although Im still recovering l could not wait to post because l am so pleased with his work. He will be getting a snow globe from me. You will understand if you see his office. Very impressive.

Dr IM operated on me almost two weeks ago and made me feel so comfortable. His surgical team calmed myNerves as I was so shaken. He removed a watermelon size cyst and my leftOvary. I was referred to Dr I’m after my cancer diagnosis and so scared he made me feel comfortable and safe even through my first real surgery he held my hand and spoke calmly and never once got irritated or anything he has one of the biggest hearts I have ever seen in a doctor! Two 1/2 years later after chemo I go to him for my 6 month checks and he is always amazing he takes such good care of his patients

Dr. Im is AMAZING! My personal experience was phenomenal from the time I met Dr. Im (2 years ago) to now. Hes an absolute genius and handled my difficult case with care, tact, and professionalism. I am certain, based on my case, that Dr. Im is the best in the business. If you require surgery, please do yourself a favor and see him -- You will be in the absolute best hands. Im floored to read some of the negative comments, here, but I assure you that Dr. Im is the best. He knows what hes doing and he is friendly, personable and reassuring. Additionally, Jennifer (the surgical coordinator) is wonderful to work with; Laura is pleasant and efficient, as are so many others that Ive encountered, either, in the office or over the phone. Ive never had an issue with the staff or Dr. Im. He and the staff are just remarkable.

Great doctor, highly experienced, wonderful robotic experience,KILLER VAGINAL EXAMS!!!Yikes! Said to me, it will be less than 10 seconds- Yep 10 seconds of almost unbearable pain, then he turns to the garbage bin across the room, flicks his glove to make a basket and walks out.For surgery he is the best but --- I wasso glad to transfer my care to another doc in the practice to oversee my continued need for evaluations!!

I do have to agree with a review by Michelle in an earlier post. This doctor was recommeded by my gynecologist to do a Robotic Myomectomy, for whatever reason when I came out of surgery they ended up doing an abdominal myomectomy after which I start having Left leg pain. I c/o to Dr he did a Doppler study and found nothing. I was still having pain. When I asked why I was still having pain Dr stated he dont know. I went into surgery without leg pain and came out with pain. I having being going to different Dr spending money that I don;t have trying to figure out where and how I got this pain.

I was a complete bag of nerves leading up to the morning of my outpatient procedure. Dr. Im and the ENTIRE staff at Mercy gave the most amazing service. From the moment I checked in I felt nothing but genuine compassion from everyone I encountered. Special shout out to Nina ( Anesthesiologist) because that was what I feared the most. Her bedside manner…AMAZING! Maria (RN) and Michael (RN) with the crystal blue eyes were amazing also. I can’t remember the nurses names post op but they were all awesome as well. Shout out to Mercy Hospital overall for just how well maintained, sterile, and beautiful the environment is. We all know how important cleanliness is always but especially in times like this. Surgery is always frightening, except when you have confidence in your Doctor. Dr. Dwight Im shows compassion and concern before moving in the direction of surgery. He takes pride in his work. Dr Im did a myriad of surgeries on me several years back as a young 30 year old patient. I was an extremely challenging case. His care every single visit was like no other doctor! I worked for a huge group of on/gyns and know what excellence is. Excellent bedside manor, excellent surgical skills. We were a hour and a half west of Mercy and he called daily and went above and beyond in every aspect. I am very thankful for your care Dr!!!

Dr Im came highly recommended by a co worker. She and I had similar conditions and he treated her. I made my 1st appointment in 2017. He has been caring for me ever since. I highly recommend him, his staff and the team that works along side him.

Dr.Im is the most professional, direct, get down to business doctor I have ever had in 47 years!! He knows the body and pays attention to everything going with you.. not just the pains you complain of. This man repaired my whole body and in one day of having a Davinci Total abdominal Hysterectomy I was back on my feet! Dr. Im saved my life! No more night sweats..no sleep…heavy cycles..blocked bowels.. cramps… pains everything is gone! Dr.Im is the best doctor in his field in the United States. Dr. Im is by far the best best best! I am obsessed with him!!! Im a 26yo female and He saved my life. He is very compassionate and loving. He is an expert and his knowledge and care is beyond words. I don’t know how anyone could write a bad thing about this talented, and very caring doctor. I’ve been having a scary irregular cycle for the last two months, and had a D & C procedure literally earlier this morning. My only issue was the wait time, which wasn’t his fault.I am already home and feeling fine. His team was by far one of the best I could of ever asked for.He saved my mom’s life, and now he’s helping me. I am beyond grateful in every way possible.

I do believe its the little things that count significantly. Dr. Im has been my gynecologist since 1998. I had bounced around for years and when I went to Mercy the first gyny assigned to me was a seasoned well known doctor and horrible...so horrible. To everyones surprise, I asked to switch and was told a new doctor had come on board and had no patients and was taking patients. I moved to Dr. Im and never looked backed. He was patient, he listened and cared about my concerns and did not rush or push me out of the office after exam where the first doctor told me everything was in my head, offered no solutions and showed me the door...all in 8 min go figure. I later had several surgeries that I believe saved my life. Dr. Im held my hand and actually took time to talk to me and even visited my hospital bed during and after each procedure over the years. I cant speak for anyone else but he has been the greatest thing that has happened to me and has taken a lot of worry from my life. I have watched him grow from his first small office at Mercy to managing multiple hospitals. I am very proud of his accomplishments and honored to know him. I see him annually now and its been twenty years and he still gives me a hug each visit and I am keeping him.

Dr. Im performed a robotic-assisted, minimally invasive, complete hysterectomy on me. From consultation with Dr. Im through post-operative appointments, he demonstrated the finest attributes I could wish for in a physician. Outgoing and warm, he put me immediately at ease. He listened to me carefully and completely. He absorbed my entire medical record and asked the right questions that made my decisions easy and clear. Valuing my concerns and preferences, he allayed my fears, while exuding candor, compassion, and confidence. In an office atmosphere that was outstandingly cordial, I was treated with respect, dignity, and consideration. A remarkably intuitive person, Dr. Im is a problem solver, delivering what he promises. My post-surgical pain was minimal and brief; the second day after surgery, I felt ready for normal activity, though, of course, I was under post surgical restrictions. My encounter at Mercy Hospital with Dr. Im and all of those associated with his practice there and with my care was overwhelmingly the most positive medical experience of my life!

Dr. Dwight Im was insufferably arrogant and highly dismissive of my questions and concerns during my consultation in his office. I had endometrial cancer and my gynecologist recommended him. During the physical exam, he was unnecessarily rough, ignored my husband and me completely, and instead made sophomoric jokes with a group of interns who he seemed eager to impress; finishing his exam by throwing his gloves across the room into the trash can as if he was playing basketball. All this as I’m on the verge of tears and concerned about dying. Completely out of tune with his patient and a terrible role model for the young doctors. I am told that he is a skilled surgeon but perhaps he’s autistic — no compassion and horrendous bedside manner. He has a reputation for arrogance. I went elsewhere and happily found a fabulous, compassionate AND skilled surgeon to perform my Davinci robotic hysterectomy. You don’t have to settle for one or the other.

Dr. Im is the best gyn doctor in the world, he first helped me with my fibroid tumors and then later with my hysterectomy. Very busy doctor but nevertheless a very friendly and kind person. I highly recommend him, especially if your high risk for any gyn cancers.

I would not recommend him. It was a great consult. He seemed to care at that time. Then, he drops you like a fly and sends other doctors in to check on you. He is not the actual surgeon, he just supervises and then says everything will be okay, until its not, then says its not his problem and send you somewheres else. He is one of those doctors who is a Pretender Pretends to care, but really just wants the $$$$$.

I’ve been seen by Dr. Im since I was about 15 and my mother worked with him since before Dr. Rosenshein retired and both of these physicians, in my personal opinion, are gynecologic geniuses! Dr. Im is my personal favorite...kind, patient, understanding to women)in general), and above all, I’d say he is a Wikipedia personified when both gynecology AND oncology are brought up. I’d HIGHLY recommend Dr. Im if you’re looking for the best care and the MOST knowledgeable. Also, as a side note, Dwight has been in various publications and television shows! I’m in my 30’s now and he is still just the same as when I first met him. He’s become both family and friend! Thanks Dr. Im and staff! XOXO

I initially had reservations about seeing a male dr however went ahead and eventually made the appointment once the cyst returned. When the dr came into the room, he entered with some woman who wasn’t introduced to me and didn’t say anything until the end when she provided directions to the waiting room. The interaction was cold and non verbal for the most part. The dr never explained what he was doing rather motioned me to layback etc. just put his fingers to examine my vagina with no explanation or saying what he was doing before doing it. He had no warmth and it was completely uncomfortable. I just really wanted to leave. Once I was called into his office I was even more disgusted by the ridiculous amount of collectible paper weights that consumed his desk. There was a small space that was clear to show a paper where my bottom area was drawn to show where the cyst is. This made me more uncomfortable. I wanted to leave and didn’t want to ask questions but I did andI don’t think he would’ve explained anything like the surgery process or recovery process. I’m in no way shape or form returning to that practice. It was such a bizarre and surreal experience that I’m mortified frankly.

I cannot concur with all the glowing reviews on this doctor. Unfortunately, my experience was much different. During a routine GYN appt, my regular doctor found a tumor on my uterus. She felt it was serious enough for further tests. Long story short, I found my way to Dr. Im. He had all my test results in front of him and in our first meeting tells me that my uterus and one of my ovaries have tumors on them. The only course of action he proposed was a hysterectomy. I was 35 and completely floored by this news. But I agree as there were no other options put forth by him and my surgery date was scheduled. I go home and start looking into it and Im not put at ease by what Im reading. I decide no, I dont want my uterus removed; the ovary, fine, but I want to keep my uterus. I call his office and get a staff member and explain my concerns. She says the dr will call me back. I never did get a return call from him. So I tell him the day of my surgery when I see him that I have changed my mind about the uterus but move forward w/ the ovary. Everything goes fine and I see him again at the 6 wk follow up appt. It is in this appt that he makes the comment I would have removed the fibroids from your uterus but you didnt want me to. Whoa! Wait! My head is spinning at this point. I said So the fibroids could have been removed w/out taking the uterus out? And he says Yes but as he does so, the gets up from his seat and walks to the office door and opens it. I was floored! We are in the midst of talking about my case and he is basically saying this conversation is over, heres the door. Basically, he knew right there he screwed up and wanted me out of there as soon as possible. And I should note, that directly across from his office is a waiting room and when he opened the door, the several ppl waiting looked up and watched us as we talked. This really bothered me, as I did not think it professional to discuss my personal issues w/ his door open right in front of other ppl, but like I said, he wanted me gone. Hindsight being what it is, I should have said shut the door, we are not finished talking. I still have more questions. But I followed his lead instead and started to leave and the last thing he says to me is I was never going to take your uterus, your only 35. At that point I was shocked into speechlessness! During that meeting he had just handed me the report summarizing everything that was done and it clearly states that a hysterectomy was scheduled and patient (me) decided not to do it. I could not believe what I just heard. I was and still am sooo upset over this. Now I have to go through all of this all over again and get cut into a SECOND time to have these fibroids removed when that could and should have been done the first time. And why the hell is he calling for the removal of a 35 yr olds uterus when the fibroids can be taken off w/out removing the uterus? That seems highly unethical. Im sick to my stomach by what I was put through by this doctor. He is a liar and incompetent as far as Im concerned.

I wish I could still Dr. IM patient. He put my body back together again with the help of God guiding him. He’s like family. I disappointed that I couldn’t keep Dr. IM due to new insurance. I want to thank you for your years of service to me, then my mom, and my oldest daughter. Also, a Big Congratulations to you on your AWARD you deserve it.

Dr. Im has been my doctor for 24yrs. I absolutely appreciate him.

Dr IM and his team are the best!!! Dr IM removed a 13pound mass from my abdomen, my surgery was a success! Dr IM was very nice ,and so was his team ,I would highly recommend Dr.IM! Hes a excellent doctor.

I was referred also by a gyn cause of my ultrasound findings, had complex lesions bilateral on ovaries and first visit, he comes in does a extremely fast exam then go to his office with my husband all he said was ok why are you here? First he should know why i was there? He scheduled a exploratory lap then i had to call the office and ask them if they had any of my records and of course No they didnt so he was just going to do a surgery and explore.... hmmm once he got the records then they call and say ok now your having a robotic bilateral ovarian cystectomy so i did and i was the last that evening of surgery to get it, I never seen him after surgery in recovery and never got to go back to post op... For me I was disappointed especially my first consultation I was hoping he could explain so much more!

Amazing care and surgical skill. He saved my life and gave me and my family support through a difficult diagnosis. He and his team are truly technically outstanding and compassionate in care.

I had pre cancer cells, when he first saw me he hugged me and said it would be ok. From then on no worries or concerns. When I came back to my room after recovery there were beautiful yellow carnations in a vase with a note from him. Id give him ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆.

If you are in need a surgeon who is a master at his craft, AND, who has a human element in the way he treats you, then you should schedule an appointment with Dr. Im. Not only does he conduct himself with a level of care that shows but that also goes for his staff. I cant say enough about the positive experience I had with him. :) (posted April 2022)

I really love him his bedside manner is so peaceful I have anxiety issues so Im very difficult at times to deal with he gave me peace comfort and understanding along with great healthcare if u reading this Dr Im Your the greatest God made love u dearly

Dr.Im is amazing! Hes thorough, unlike many other Drs.he actually takes the time to talk & explain everything.I would recommend him to any female that needs a Gyn.
