Cahaba Medical Care - West End

Cahaba has the best care team. Dr. Brockington is really good at what he does, prioritizes his patients and makes sure the job is always done. My child has been going here for years and I cant complain at all.

They are literally the best. All the doctors and nurses Ive had good experiences with and they really get to know you and act like they care. They a HARD 10 in my book 😅😅Except for the other day they messed my meds up the other day for the first time.Dr Clements is the best doctor. She makes me feel comfortable and that is a big deal coming from me.

I have had great experience so far,staff and Dr’s are just what you looking for when going to the office,helpful and listens to you and your needs.

Awesome experience. Huge lobby, nice and clean. Easy registration and a very kind staff. And you cant beat that they have multiple departments of care all in one place.

At first I thought Cahaba Medical Care was a good thing coming into these low income Black neighborhoods. But now I have a different opinion. You all better question and double check behind these nurse practitioners and DOs because I have been lied to on several occasions about the results of my lab work. I have been told that I had something only to be told that I didnt have it. I have been misled and lied to about my health!!! A person who is coming to seek medical care should never be lied to and misled!!! Its really cruel to do that to somebody! So now I am leaving Cahaba Medical because the bottom line is they dont want low income Black people or other minorities to have good medical care! Period! Always remember that.

My first visit was informational, staffing that I was in contact with, was engaging personable and they listened. I left my visit feeling comfortable. 🤔 I have to make an amendment to this review, In short, the my last couple of visits wasnt as productive. I received medicine prescribed only to make me sick. I called to report this to the doctor, left message twice but never received a callback from anyone staff member out of 20 or so office workers. So with that I have discontinued visiting.

Wait time for simple labs was toooo long. Over 20 minutes.I am pleased to say, I communicated with the staff regarding my experience. This communication was very professional and filled with genuine concerns....with possible solutions or changes.We are grateful to have CMC in our West End Community.

Made an appointment over a month ago and then when I got there I was never seen. I talked to the front desk lady and she was not helpful at all. Would give a 0 out of 5 if I could.

Ive been twice now, and I have received nothing but stellar care. My doctor is amazing, listens to me, and cares about me. The front desk staff are quick and efficient. The nurses are all sweet and good to talk to. The security guard does a great job of welcoming everyone and making sure everyone is safe. Everyone I have met has been respectful and wonderful.Im really into the West End location always having Spanish Interpreters there, also.

2 weeks and no X-ray results nor was the fluid drained from my knee.What was the purpose of my visit?

We love Dr. Brockington and his team! We received excellent care and attention, but somehow were in and out in less than 45min for a kids sick visit. Keep up the good work!!

I had a good experience at Cahaba the lab tech were so nice and kind to and patience ☺

My appointment was with Laboratory. The lab tech that was getting blood from me, took the tube out and yanked the needle out of my arm. Didnt apply pressure over the needle with a gauges and blood came oozing out. She apologized and use the other arm to get the other tubes filled. But I was not pleased with that mishap and neither was my husband. Appointment 1-8-2024

I took off work for an appointment that I was told I needed. CMC was recommended to me. This was my first time here. I arrived at CMC more than 20 minutes early for the appointment. I checked in with the lady at the desk and completed my paperwork.They let me wait in the lobby for more than an hour, about 25 minutes after the appointment was scheduled. They were asking for people who had arrived after my scheduled appointment, so I asked to make sure I had not been forgotten.Turns out, they did not correctly check me in, let me waste an hour of MY time that I had to TAKE OFF WORK for, and then refused to see me because of a mistake that THEY MADE!!! Absolutely ridiculous waste of my time.I WASN’T HIDING IN THE CORNER EITHER!! I was sitting in the lobby within their DIRECT LINE OF SITE! They couldve said something. They could have called my name to make sure I wasnt there. THEY DID NOTHING!If I didnt need an appointment asap, I would not be going back. Ill update this review after my next attempt.

Current patient, honest opinion.. if you have mental issues and have a hard time understanding things. Dont go. The horrible staff they have in front DO NOT CARE ANYTHING ABOUT YOU! I call for help and they either never answer or they answer and dont have a clue whats going on or they act annoyed that you dare to call them for anything. They are there for a paycheck not to help people. Your sorry company makes me scared of doctors.

The lady in the pharmacy has a very arrogant and prepotent behavior towards patients she is very demanding and impatient with patients that don’t understand her because of language. We’ve never had a problem with anybody else at CMC, i asked her for her name and she denied it to me I ask to talk to pharmacy manager and he completely ignored me

Be prepared to be treated like s--it. The nurses, or whatever they are, say some really nasty things about patience. Grant it, clients that go here are poor with no insurance and some patients are unkempt and dont practice good hygiene, but that doesnt make it right for those people that work there to belittle patience. If you get blood work done and they give you a late appointment, be on time. After leaving work and traveling across town in traffic to get to the lab for blood work, I was denied service because i was 10 min. late. My appointment was for 4:00but i arrived at 4:10. The receptionist said that they were putting supplies away because i was the last appointment for the day. So they were shutting down before 4:30. They should have given me at least 15 min. to arrive which i thought most medical facilities do. I will be so glad when I qualify for Medicare so I want have to put up with them anymore.

A great experience here this is where I get my medication. It is also a Doctors office.

My doctor at Cahaba Medical name is Dr. Clements. She is absolutely the best. However, sometimes the front desk and getting in touch with her through the front desk can be a challenge, so I always directly contact her through the patient portal and she responds promptly. She cares for her patients and I trust her.

Excellent care! The staff is courteous and professional. I have great access to my results online. Im glad they are my new health-care providers.

I had no problem. The technician was very nice and patience. She did an awesome job didn’t feel a thing. I hope I can get her when I go get my second shot. My arm was a little sore which was understandable I had a little headache but was bearable. Took two Tylenol every other day for 3 days. I feel great. It been a week

They were good.They got me back in no time.Dr Roundtree and his asssistant were great, pleasant and easy to talk to.

Cahaba Medical is a nice, clean, and friendly facility. However the care could be more detailed. They have a lot of people to see but I would like to make a recommendation. Please look closely at the lab results and do follow ups. You could be missing critical information that could need immediate attention. Dont take so many patients that way you can give better care to the people that you do see. There are very friendly people working there, very friendly, just listen to the patient and investigate the symptoms. Please

The Pracitioner Dr. L. Murphy was so wonderful with such resourceful information about getting back well and guidance on staying healthy. The front off staff is highly unprofessional, argumentative and frankly are being paid to play on their phones and make mockery of the patients. Not to mention, huge HIPAA violations. I appreciate Dr. Murphy and her service so much but the staff needs better training. Truly unacceptable

*UPDATED 11/24/2020*I’ve been an OB patient at CMC since September of of this year and it has been a good experience. The staff is nice and the residents and doctors are thorough and attentive. I’m thankful to be at a place where I feel heard, seen and cared for. Again, it is a clinic so there aren’t any bells and whistles in the waiting area or patient rooms. But I’m getting what matters the most-good care. My original post will remain to give a more well rounded idea of my experience.————-Original PostPrior to arriving, I was able to complete and print new patient forms. When I arrived, I was checked for Covid symptoms and then went inside to registration.The first thing that was confusing was whether or not I was to go back to my car after registering, as mentioned on their phone messaging system. So, I asked and was told that I could find a seat. Before finding a seat, I gave them all of the paper work that I’d complete and printed-hoping this would help everyone. Not so much. After two registration reps looked it over, they told me it was not what they needed. Great. So then they gave me a new packet of info to complete. The first page was exactly like one of the ones that I’d completed, another page asked the exact same information as one of the pages that I’d already completed. It was frustrating a little. It would be great to have the correct forms uploaded to the site or take them down altogether.Nonetheless, once I was taken to an exam room, things got a little better. The staff was nice and understanding. I even got to talk with mike staff after my visit and had a really good coverage with one of the young ladies who checked me in.Cahaba is a clinic and is run like a clinic. So, if you’re considering visiting, then that is a good thing to keep in mind. Do you want the bells and whistles of a doctors office? If so, then go to one. But the people here are what made the difference.

I am really impressed with the atmosphere of Cahaba Medical Clinic in West End. The staff from the beginning of the office to the MA’s to the doctors are very professional and show a caring spirit within them. I got a chance to meet the office manager and he was working as a customer service representative because he was short on staff. That to me showed me he was not there overloading his staff, but working with his staff to make sure each patient was seen in a timely matter. We need to REALLY take a look at this clinic. They are growing BIG.

Dr. Malia Swanson is the BEST! Her staff is great too.There was only one thing I did not like; some of the clinical staff have very long false fingernails. Having worked in medical offices and hospitals myself for 35 years, I do not feel that is professionally proper OR sanitary in a medical office, especially if you are in a clinical setting.

Here now, this is by far one of the most unprofessional , slow, unorganized, locations by far. I came to my appointment 20 minutes earlier still waiting over and hour to be seen, people coming in been called to the back , meanwhile I am still sitting here. When you leave an review they comment up under saying sorry we didnt reach your standards, of course not ! You all never do! I think they would be better off finding an addict off the street and sitting them at the front desk. Horrible, horrible, horrible! Update: I was here yesterday needless to say they did one of the most lowest underhand to be done to an human bean. Thank God I record everything when Im out and about some of the information I have this particular practice would have been shut down. I have me an lawyer and of course I want you all to see this. Whomever you believe in is real there is an higher power and when someone is accused falsely accused of something it will come to the light 😉👍thank you! I scheduled my yearly physical and pap, but when I arrived the staff was clueless as to my reason for the appointment. After explaining my needs they offered to do a physical, but told me that I needed separate appointments for the labs and pap. This was not shared with me when I made the appointment. When I asked for the labs to be done instead, they refused and offered to do a weight and waist measurement. The physician told me that most patients don’t have labs done with their yearly physical. Really?When I explained how I wasn’t given this information when I made my appointment and asked if they could educate their staff I received blank stares and their policy dictated back to me. Most of my experiences with the Westend branch have been poor. I’ll be looking for a new primary care provider. Had the staff informed me when I called to make the appointment I could have avoided this. But after the mistake was made their total lack of trying to correct it is totally unacceptable. Even a simple acknowledgment of their contribution to the misunderstanding and commitment to fix it would have gone far. But they didn’t do any of this, just quoted policy at me. I hope the physician I spoke with and the staff receives the necessary training to correct this and no one else has to endure this type of treatment.

Ive seen veterinarians give better care. The attending physician could care less! They will not speak to you. They will sit on your results for weeks, and not follow up. You will be bounced around with different nurses and your care will be inconsistent. I gave one star because I take partial responsibility for staying with this practice!

I went in for a Covid- 19 test. Everyone I spoke with was very nice an helpful. They had me sent in my car as they took vitals,an had me do my paperwork. The whole process took maybe twenty minutes. I would highly recommend them to anyone. I would love to thank all the ladies for being so helpful an nice to me . They even wished me well , an told me they hoped I felt better soon

I had a diabetic eye exam and the doctors and staff were very good and helpful. They took their time and listened to my concerns and patiently worked with me. I wouldn’t go anywhere else.

The staff wasn’t very friendly. I was pretty much ignored when I walked through the door. The person that got in line behind me was called to the front desk first. The phlebotomist was horrible. I have no idea how she missed my very obvious vein no one has ever had a problem with. Another one stepped in and took blood from a vein in my forearm.

It’s like every time you call no answer it’s always high call volume then they ask you to leave your name and a brief message to give you a call back at the end of the day to receive no call back it’s been going on a week I guess no one checks in listen to he messages thank GOD for cahaba spine and pain Hoover. From the moment I walked in the doors of Cahaba Medical care, the clerk at the front desk was very polite and got me right in the system and I was immediately taken to the back. I was having severe back pains from a pulled muscle and the nurses and the doctor made me very comfortable by making me feel like my health was in good hands. After I left the facility I felt much better and was thankful I made the decision to come to that location. Thanks a lot to all of you!!

Loved my counselor while was going she really helped me in my treatment and with my mental health period. Bummed that this virus caused me to miss phone conference with her shes really amazing. Front desk awesome staff awesome Dr. Are great hopefully can start back soon as things get better.

The Staff and all the Doctors are nice and polite will help you anyway they can. I have been looking for a place to call my primary care office for 6years before I was referred to Cahaba Medical Care when I went in for my first visit all I could think was this place is going to be like everywhere else Ive been but I was wrong the Doctors here listened to what I had to say and they want to actually help me with my Medical issues I have not gotten the runaround from them like every other doctor I have ever seen they want to help me. I love this office hope that I never have to change Doctors Offices ever again 🙂😀😁💞this place

I highly recommend Cahaba Medical Care in West End. The staff is helpful and the health care I have received has been excellent. The doctors I have seen there are friendly, and thorough. They listen to what I have to say and explain treatment and answer any questions I might have. As someone unable to afford insurance, I really appreciate their sliding scale system.

My appointment was January 3,2020 for a follow up on my lab work. When I got there I was greeted by the staff which was excellent. But when I was saw the doctor he did not even remember why I was in his office.As I was leaving I had asked the staff to please contact the doctor again so I can ask him what was the results of my lab work. It’s sad that we have to pay these doctors so much money and not receive better health care.I will not go see Dr.Ross again.

The doctors are fantastic here. Even when I lost my cool about a procedure they handled the situation very well and in a timely manner. Dr.George is fantastic and deserves praise. Thank you for all you do.

Dr. Clements saw our 4 month old baby and she did the best job :) she was kind and answered our questions and did such a great job explaining everything. So thankful we can take our kids to a doctor close to our house that we really trust. Thank you Cahaba!!

It was horrible I mean I wouldnt recommend Noone to that place. On my lease paper I put Noone on their. But tell me why my mama was inform of what had Transpire when I was there. And then it was the doctor that did it.

I have just been so comfortable. I had not been to doctors and I am 47 yr of age. I have seen Brook Murphy and I will continue driving from south Shelby county to visit this location and group... Thank you

If I could give zero stars, I would! We waited over 5 hours to get tested for COVID. Their “system” does not work or maybe it would with more competent workers. We arrived at 12:30pm & shortly before the lady parked next to me left without testing because they took too long, she mentioned she had been there since 1:40. She was called before me. 2 other cars, I’m sure arrived after me, we’re also called before me. When I mentioned it to them Grenesia Burts, one of their workers, became extremely rude. Her manager, Madison Helmer, stood by & said nothing! This location is in the hood & Grenesia made sure I knew that! The ONLY reason I didn’t match her energy is because I didn’t want to have waited in vain. I would not recommend this place to a dog, if they serviced dogs of course. THE MOST TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE EVER!

One person per task with a line full of people is unacceptable! I literally waited in a line for 1 hr for a Covid Test.... came on my lunch break and was 40 mins late returning because the operation was SUPER SLOW! Very nice but moving like we, the patient, is on your time! Never again will I go back here....

Dr. Ward is very attentive. RN Cameron was the best. Dr. Daniella was super sweet. What a great place to establish care. They have a pharmacy on site. They met my needs and exceeded my expectations.

I went to get my eyes tested. Jennifer Yin took vet his care of me. She wipped off everything before we used it. Even the chairs. She seemed genuinely concerned. She explained things to me so I could understand what was going on with my diabetic eyes. I wish I could have her everytime.

Mason and staff were awesome - professional, courteous, and accommodating. The drive up or drive thru testing is simple, quick, and convenient. Especially if you have little ones. Would definitely recommend during these crazy days.

How many Drs. do you know who is strong, confident and courageous enough to literally pray with you and for you? Well, I have. My primary is a God fearing woman and Im so confident that with my health in her hands you will find me healthy, physically strong and mentally sound. I believe in her and I trust her judgement. I do believe she is God sent. May God bless and keep my primary physician.I am also very, very proud of the staff of women that God has allowed to oversee this facility. Cahaba itself is not a bad place to work but it heavily depends on which location you are assigned to.I absolutely loved working the curbside covid testing and being on the vaccine team for the mass vaccine events. Had an amazing experience with an amazing manager and team lead who really care..But once I was assigned to the West End location, every part of this job was a nightmare. Discrimination, hostility, hate, bullying & harassment from coworkers (MA’s) from the beginning. No help from management despite asking for help multiple times. They know it goes on but don’t want to deal with it I guess.It’s a nightmare being an MA there if you don’t fit in with them or they decide not to like you. It’s like working with 30 7th grade girls. Don’t be an MA here unless you enjoy verbal abuse at the amusement of others. This place is toxic.

I admire DR Numayan for what shes done for me and how shes taken time to explain things And break them down. I love her personality.Dr Ross surprised me. He showed that there are Dr s whom care. I have recieved excellent care for both myself and my babies. I have never felt more comfortable with any other facility and the only thing i hate is that they are only a clinic but on the plus side we get really personal ❤ care

I went for a doctors visit. I was 15 minutes which is the grace period. They told me i could be seen but the girl at the desk didnt know what she was doing and said I has to reschedule. I missed 3 hours of pay. I am beyond 😠

Efficient and informative check in and polite and caring staff administering the Covid vaccine. In spite of how many people they were dealing with, the staff took as much time as needed with each person to answer questions and inform them.

I believe I did not receive that personal time that I might have received from another doctor. I believe it was all rushed, and I had the most painful Pap smear experience in my life, I will not be returning there again. The second thing is they had my information in there wrong so I was sitting there for half and hour past my scheduled time on top of the hour I was already there. They were not organized at all.And when they did the exam they didn’t have paper down on the exam table.

Had both of my Pfizer shots and the service was excellent. Both the front desk and the nurse giving the shots were extremely polite and professional.

Absolutely awful customer/patient customer service!!! How is this place still open for business? The nurses and doctors charge you, and you havent been seen nor diagnosed. They makeup diagnosis which is illegal, and I will be seeing legal representation about their unethical practices.

Good staff. They dont have AC on FREEZE like most hospitals. My doctor, Dr. Klint did a great job on several visits for my carpal tunnel.

Don’t go here.. they don’t listen to your concerns or care about how you feel. Came in with a pain level of 8 after fainting twice and they did nothing for me & even said I shouldn’t go to ER until my test results came back.. I’ve been in severe pain going on 3 days now and fainted twice.. something is wrong and they don’t care to find out what that is!! Only answer I’ve been given is that I “most likely miscarried”.. this was Dr varquese

Medical person called me in.Administered breathing test,left the room 3 times for about 20 minutes 3 times.I stepped out the room twice to see what was going on.Finally after about 40 minutes doctor came in.Also ,pharmacy doesnt have medicines filled when you come pick them up.I have been waiting over 2 weeks for Trulicity

Dr. Platt misdiagnose pityriasis rosea for scabies; prescribed my daughter a $115 cream and all she needed was some hydrocortisone. My daughter missed 2 days of school and I was out of $60 because she was guessing at what it could be. SmhUneducated; change careers.

My primary doctor Kate Abraham is always courteous and professional, this last doctor got everything wrong so I cancelled the next appointment and rescheduled to Kate Abraham.

The last time I tried to get a covid-19 test the receptionists did a mess with the appointment, and not very helpful. I was so upset, and I couldnt get the text.
