My first time ever going to Northwestern Specialists for women and the experience was great!! Everyone was so polite and friendly. The doctors took their time and heard me while also giving me information on things. I had a visit with Dr. Wise. She took her time explaining everything she was going to do and even asked if I was ok with it beforehand. A very sweet person. This is a place I would definitely go back to.

Ive had a great experience at NWSW since I moved to Chicago in 2021. While I was sad my old Doctor switched locations I was equally pleased today with my new Doctor. She was diligent, focused, knowledgeable, and had a very pleasing bedside manner. She answered my questions thoroughly, thoughtfully and without judgment - never making me feel rushed or brushed aside! I would happily recommend this practice to any one of my girlfriends.

Dr. Wise makes me feel comfortable and answers my questions. I don’t feel like I’m being rushed when I go for my appointment.Every staff person was kind, professional, respectful. I trust the competence of the practice! And now my 3 daughters go there.

This is Dr McMahon’s women’s practice. I like the friendly atmosphere, the staff are professional. Efficient. Clean office and convenient parking. They have mammogram on site as well. I can communicate with my provider through portal. Easy communication.

I have had a wonderful experience with every staff member and doctor I have met here. My first child was born in another state and it was an extremely traumatic experience. The whole practice here made sure my second pregnancy and delivery was a redeeming and healing experience. Even though I ended up needing an emergency surgery while pregnant, I felt so informed, calm, cared for, and in control throughout the entire process. I felt the same way about my delivery this time around (ideal experience). I wouldn’t want to have a baby with any other group of doctors.

I switched to Northwestern Specialists for Women a little less than a year ago because i wasn’t totally happy with my current Doctor and a friend referred Dr V. to. Everyone is so pleasant and professional. I have had an amazing experience with Nurse Practitioner, Dana Sullivan. She is very patient and explains things. I am very happy I made the switch!

Great practice! Although going to the doctor is never fun, this was by far one of the most pleasant experiences I had. Dr. McMahon and her team are fabulous, patient, and thorough. I switched to this group after a few bad experiences with another and am very happy with my choice.

Dr. Salasche was the first doctor that I booked an appt with when we relocated to Chicago 11 years ago. She came highly recommended from a friend. Since, she has helped our family add two little babies to our crew, managed my health, and coached me through appropriately set up my health management plan due to my family’s high risk of breast and uterine cancer. She is brilliant, professional, approachable, never judgmental, and patient centric (she wants to meet and see pix of the babies for sure but it’s clear that I am her first and foremost concern and that feels amazing!) I also had the pleasure of getting to know the whole NWSW team during prenatal/pregnancy/postpartum checkups. Stellar. Highly recommend this practice!

I had an amazing experience at the Kingsbury location! The clinic is very clean, spacious and well organized. The staff were friendly and helpful. Eric was an absolute pleasure and so was Dr. McMahon. She is knowledgeable, kind and a sweetheart who made me feel comfortable. This was very important to me as it was my first time here. She listened to my concerns and answered all my questions. The visit did not feel rushed unlike my experience with other doctors. I went in for a second opinion regarding uterine fibroids and am relieved to say that Dr. McMahon confirmed I have different treatment options. I absolutely recommend The Northwestern Specialist for Women!

Being back in the care of the exceptional professionals who delivered all four of my babies was a truly heartwarming experience. Their expertise and positive energy have been a constant source of comfort and reassurance over the years. I felt incredibly safe and profoundly grateful to be in their capable hands once again. Dr. V and the wonderful lady who administered my mammogram were both outstanding, providing care with such kindness and professionalism. Its a privilege to be looked after by such a dedicated and compassionate team.

Dr. V came highly recommended to me by multiple friends and family members. She has since delivered all of their kids. I was lucky enough to get into her as well and have looked forward to every single appointment with her I’ve ever had. She takes the time to listen to your questions and concerns, she spends quality time asking about how you are, and truly has the best bedside manner of any doctor I’ve ever seen. She’s so smart, warm and kind. I refer her to anyone and everyone that will listen to me and I can’t wait for her to deliver my kids one day!

Dr. Edelman was so nice, attentive, thorough and can tell she really cared about my concerns. She offered helpful recommendations and advice and made me feel very comfortable! HIGHLY recommend her!

Dr. McMahon took her time to get to know me and really consider my history as well as address all my concerns. Its a rare thing not to be rushed through a dr appt or be made to feel like youre just a number. She was very thorough and professional, but still had a good sense of humor.

Dr. Mazzullo is incredibly kind and intelligent. I felt at ease instantly. Everyone in the office is amazing. Liz from anesthesia is excellent too! I’m so thankful for the care at this office.

Ive been a patient of Dr. Salasche for a few years. She helped me deliver my first child and is now my care provider on an annual basis. I really appreciate her professionalism and attentiveness. During my last annual check-up, she was able to add on services for a mammogram and blood work all in one appointment instead of having me schedule additional appointments and waste my time coming back to the office on multiple occasions. I love an office that is dynamic and understands that your time is valuable.

I’ve been seeing Dr. Dayna Salasche for years. She is wonderful! Dr. Salasche is empathetic, thorough, personable and knowledgeable. I’ve also seen many of the providers at this practice and they are all great. They were there for my two pregnancies and handled a rare complication during my first pregnancy very well. I wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for their expertise. I highly recommend!

Just came here for my first annual with Dr. McMahon who is amazing! The staff was also friendly , informative, and helpful which is all I need! Parking garage is attached but was not validated at all, so my visit cost $11.

I’ve had great experiences with NSFW. Most recently I had my initial pregnancy appointment.It was the first time Ive ever had a speculum involved procedure that didnt hurt. I felt very listened to and validated when I asked for a smaller speculum and got one.Also they are queer friendly- my wife and I have never felt othered, only embraced.

Good luck trying to get your medical records from this office. I’ve been calling for over a week and haven’t heard a thing from them. I got my records from Northwestern and North Shore within 48 hours of a request, but this place is stuck in the 90s when it comes to technology so it’s not like I can request anything other than by leaving multiple voice mails. They don’t even have a fax number or any sort of Mychart where I can get any records. Oh and forget about being treated well as a patient here unless you’re lululemon clad trophy wife who’s going to pop out a couple brats, I’ve never been so rudely treated by a doctor’s office in my life as when I went there. And the only reason I ended up going there was because my doctor who I loved at North Shore didn’t take the insurance I had at a new job. So now that have to go to a new doctor since I moved out of Chicago, without several years of my medical records that cover some really important details and that could cause me to not receive the care or testing that I need to have done.

As a new patient at NWSW, I took comfort in feeling like Dr. Edelman listened to me and gave me space to ask questions. She was so wonderful!

All professionals are outstanding! From medical assistants to doctors. I always feel cared for and that my issues are addressed promptly. Best Obgyn clinic ever! Highly recommended.

I just completed a 3D mammogram at Northwestern Specialist for Women and can’t recommend them enough. The woman who did the test was a top notch professional, kind and caring. She actually made the exam enjoyable!

The overall top experience I’ve ever had at a yearly obgyn appt. The staff was kind & efficient, and Dr. McMahon was outstanding at keeping the routine exam quick and comfortable, as well as making sure we covered overall wellness. The practice is also just very organized from what I’ve seen, which is lovely.

Dr. Ryan was absolutely incredible. She really took her time to understand where we were at in our family planning journey and provided us with the perfect amount of information and support for our first visit. She was able to conduct not only the informational portion of our visit to help us plan for starting our family , but also my annual pap, removal of my IUD (which was quick and painless), and she was also able to get both mine and my husbands genetic tests completed. We truly could not recommend her and her team enough. We feel incredibly lucky to have found Dr. Ryan and just absolutely love her. We are so happy to embark on this journey with her as she makes us feel so comfortable, confident, informed, and supported. Not to mention the fact that she is an overall decorated and acclaimed Doctor :).

Dr Bonnie Wise is so kind, knowledgeable and super helpful! Im so glad I found her and plan to always see her.The reception staff is a nice as they can be too.

Dr. Wise is beyond knowledgeable. Her warm and caring demeanor are exactly what make each visit enjoyable and comfortable. The support teams are excellent. A well run and thoughtful organization all around!

The physical facility is quite lovely, the waiting room is welcoming and comfortable. Lisa Mazzullo has been my OB-GYN for many years and remembers discussions weve had over the years.

I’ve been a patient of Dr Lisa Mazzullo for 27 years. She delivered my son and from that moment onward I knew I wanted to remain with her for as long as I could. Dr Mazzullo is the most caring doctor, always giving her patients 100% of whatever time is needed and listens to your concerns. She cares about the complete woman, not just OBY/GYN topics. Her knowledge is deep about health and wellness and I trust her with my medical needs.

I cannot say enough positive things about this practice and would recommend ANY of the doctors to anyone. While Dr. Edleman was my primary doctor, after complications that lead to a 5week hospital stay, I had the pleasure of meeting and getting to know each of the other doctors quite well. It got to the point where I wanted all of them to deliver my son because they are all so caring, knowledgeable, and wonderful in their own unique ways. 5 stars isn’t high enough of a rating to give and I am so thankful to have been seen by such a great team.

LOVE my team Dr Lisa Mazzullo and NP Molly Reimann. Im an anxious first time mom to be and they answer ALL of my questions with patience. Sometimes I feel stupid for asking certain questions because of my anxious brain but they never made me feel dumb for asking. Ive explored a few other practices and feel that this is hard to find. They take the time to explain medical terms, results, what to expect at next appointments, etc. Im the type of person that likes to know not just the answer itself but the why and context behind things so if youre similar, I highly recommend this practice and more specifically Dr Mazzullo and Nurse Reimann.

Dr. Wise is a caring and compassionate medical provider. I never feel rushed when Im seeing her and she is always happy to answer my questions. Coming from a negative experience with my prior provider, finding Dr. Wise was the best thing I could have done for my gynecological health.

Friendly, efficient admin staff. Dr. Mazzulo knowledgeable, caring and thorough. They do, however, have computer issues. In spite of completing lengthy, detailed, online history the day prior to arrival, I still have to complete some of the same forms upon arrival (told the system is down) + am asked info from nurse thats already answered the day before online. Irritating & frustrating, but not a deal breaker. This happened on my last visit, too

Had a great experience with Dr. Edelman. She made me feel very comfortable, answered all of my questions, and did not feel like she was rushing through the appointment as has been my experience with other doctors over the years.

I appreciate how all staff and Dr Mazzullo are very efficient in getting lots done in a pleasant manner and without delay. They project high professionalism and expertise.

I have had a great experience with Dr Edelman and the team at Northwestern Women’s Specialists. Dr Edelman listens and readily answers my questions. I also appreciate how well she explains things. I always leave feeling empowered in knowing more about what’s going on in my body. She also performed myomectomy, which as far as surgeries go has been a good experience

Dr Mazzullo is a jewel! She’s the only doctor I still see in Chicago. She’s also my favorite doctor because she actually discusses all aspects of my health with me so that I understand why she recommends certain actions, meds etc. I always come away with new or deeper understandings. I am a person to her and she is to me. I value our relationship and see her as partner in my wellbeing.

Dr. Mazzullo is wonderful!! I am still having some issues communicating with this practice. Hopefully I will get better at this. I am just too used to picking up a phone and speaking with someone instead of email. Yes I am old.

Dr. Mazzullo is the best of the best! She’s caring, knowledgeable, and takes time to answer any and all questions. She also has a very calming presence. So happy I found her! The office space is very nice, and the staff members are friendly and helpful.

Beth Nagel, Dr. Edelman, and the entire staff here is so incredible. Beth goes above and beyond to explain everything going on and was extremely empathetic during. Always have amazing experiences at my appointments here

I highly recommend Dr. Bonnie Wise. She is genuinely caring, attentive and responsive. She always makes me feel comfortable and takes time to answer any questions I may have.

Dr. Mazullo is amazing, understanding, caring, just fantastic! Always has great feed back and is always ready to answer any of your questions. I started my care with her in 2018, had my baby girl 2020 in the middle of the pandemic, she made my experience beyond perfect even with any and all complications. After 3 years of not seeing her, (moved to suburbs) she still remembers my history, family and my daughter’s name. You can’t go wrong with this amazing lady. Beyond the years of knowledge is her expertise and care for her patients.

Dr Salasche is amazing! She is very patient and kind and makes you feel like you’re the most important patient ever. I’ve been with her for close to 20 years!

The Northwestern Specialists for Women is a great practice. Dr Mazzullo has been my GYN/OB for 20 years. She is an amazing doctor and always has the best recommendations to ensure my continued good health. This last visit she also saw my 18 year old daughter whom she delivered as a new born. It comes full circle! I am so pleased with her and her partners. I would give more stars if I could.

I have been going here for three years. During my first pregnancy I went to two different practices to choose where I felt more comfortable and this was hands down the best experience. I have seen every doctor at the office to make sure I was comfortable with anyone at delivery. They are all wonderful. My main doctor is Dr. Ryan and she is wonderful. She kept me calm during my pregnancy and miscarriage. Scheduling is very convenient and the office is clean.We also love Patty, the ultrasound tech- she was very sensitive towards doing the ultrasounds during my miscarriage.

I’ve been coming here for almost 20 years now. Dr. Wise is so kind, professional, honest, and nurturing. She makes me feel totally safe and comfortable, she really cares - not only about my health but also my life and what’s going on or changing. Just feels like one of my safe places.

Scheduled an appointment to get my BC renewed and when I showed up, they had a record of me but no appointment. If you need the appointment to get the script renewed, how is there no appointment on record. Could not accommodate a reschedule nor did they take any ownership that this was a huge inconvenience.

Dr. McMahon and the entire practice have been a pleasure to work with! Dr. McMahon is very thorough and knowledgeable and a very calming presence. She helped me navigate an unexpected hiccup at my most recent appointment with much reassurance and grace.

I LOVE Dr. Venkatachalam! She is so warm and professional, friendly and efficient. My experience today at the office (in March 2024) was different. Not Dr. V because she is still amazing. The office was confusing today.There are no signs as to where the mammograms are, there’s a new checkout which I thought was check-in for the mammogram. And I was supposed to check in twice, once before the mammogram and then after that for the Dr. visit. I will continue to come as long as Dr. V is there. I know there are a lot of new things right now so hopefully it will be a clearer process next time.

I go see Dr Salasche for my yearly check up, she’s really nice, takes her time to talk to me and is really thorough. Staff are lovely here and was in and out in no time!

I never leave reviews but this practice acted absolutely terribly to me. If I could give 0, I would have given one. I asked for a second openion and to possibly transfer care and they first asked for all of the records from my current provided, which I didnt mind providing but then when I got the green light that the records are sent to scheduling, I called to make an appointment and their response was absolutely terrible. They said that in terms of second openion, my current provider needs to approve my second openion request. If I agreed with my current providers opinion, I wouldnt have seeked a second one. And what kind of practice is it that that I have to ask my current provider if I may seek a second opinion? Am I in some kind of debt to my current provider or their slave that I cant go out and seek a second opinion? Ive never heard of that policy before, nor does it make sense. I then asked to just schedule an appointment to which they responded that theyre at full capacity and cant take on any new patients, which was an obvious lie. Just unbelievable to see with whome their loyalty lies and how they treat possible new patients. Ill transfer care with someone who works with and for the patient.But this practice humiliated me in so many ways, so I absolutely have to leave this review here. Im still baffled by this whole horrendous experience.

The clinic is currently being expanded but I’ve been going to this practice for 20+ years! Such great doctors and hospitable staff. Dr. McMahon is practically one of my best friends who I only see once a year... Oh, and they added a Mammogram clinic which is FANTASTIC. A one-stop shop for womens health.

Dr McMahon is the best!! She’s always so helpful, knowledgeable and on top of my care. She’s been my doctor for 4 pregnancies and I feel like she’s my friend too, she really has supported me through so much, I could not be happier under her care. They have always been helpful and accomodating as a patient at northwestern specialists for women. All of the doctors and nurse practitioners are wonderful, we have had a great experience.

Dr. Mazzullo is a phenomenal physician. Throughout the past 20 years, I have found her to be high skilled, very proactive, thorough and empathetic. She cares deeply, and has always taken a holistic approach to my health, no matter what age or stage of life.

I’ve been coming here the last 3 years, first as a gynecology patient and now as an OB patient for my first pregnancy. I never had any issues or concerns as a gynecology patient and felt like the providers always worked with me to find the best plan of care for my needs and wants. I have had a wonderful experience thus far as an OB patient. I am a patient of Dr. Salasche’s, and she is warm and friendly but doesn’t beat around the bush, which I really appreciate. The other providers I’ve seen have also been very friendly. I have really appreciated that they have squeezed me in and treated me quickly on multiple occasions when I was experiencing some mild concerning symptoms. Most of my appointments have run on time and the rest of the staff is extremely friendly. I highly recommend this practice!

It was my first visit but it was night and day compared to the last doctor I was seeing! Just wish their technology was a bit better, but I would rather have a quality Dr vs pretty pictures

Dr. McMahon is the best! I have been going to her for so many years and she always makes me feel so comfortable and at ease. She is very knowledgeable, gentle and so kind. I trust her and that is a very important quality to have with your doctor.

I had to be seen for not the best reasons and Beth Nagel was supportive, compassionate, and I felt so cared for in a doctors office, which is very hard to come by.

I am so grateful to have Dr Mazzullo as a major part of my healthcare team. Her attention to detail, kindness, knowledge, professionalism along with thorough explanations are invaluable. I am possibly one of her very first patients from decades ago am so happy to have her as my OBGYN. She was with me and my husband for the births of my 2 beautiful and healthy daughters, what a blessing that was. Dr. Ryan is absolutely incredible. While I only see her annually, it is such a wonderful appointment through and through when I do. She takes the time to thoroughly listen to my concerns, helps me think through potential treatments, and leaves me feeling in control of my health. I also appreciate her correspondence and the correspondence of her exceptional team of nurse practitioners! The practice’s team of administrators, phlebotomists, and mammogram technicians are also wonderful. I will remain loyal to a practice that really cares for its patients. The office runs on-time or early, which is much appreciated as a busy professional. Everyone is super friendly and knowledgeable. Decor is beautiful and location is easy in/out. Ive been a patient for almost 20 years and highly recommend whether you are having a baby or just need really good doctor!

I’ve gone back and forth with leaving a review because throughout my entire pregnancy I’ve never had an issue with my doctor herself. However, the administration and some providers have left a terrible taste in my mouth. Messages aren’t followed up on, prescriptions have taken weeks to fill, almost always running behind and 15 minute appointments become 90 minutes with waiting to just be rushed out of the room. I’ve had an issue with a specific provider and requested to not see or talk to her again and to have the manager call me- provider still contacts me and manager never called. I’m now dealing with their billing department. I’ve called twice and left messages with no call back. They take payment automatically with no problem, but don’t seem to find time to return calls and answer questions. My doctor and a few others are phenomenal, however, after my 6 week pp appointment I will be looking for a new provider because I will not be returning due to the lack of follow through from other providers/administration. I work in healthcare and am blown away by the way this office is run.

Dr. Mcmahon is a GEM. She not only is a talented physician who practices evidence-based medicine, she is compassionate and so charismatic with a lovely bedside manner. I am honored to be her patient.

My teenage daughter had her first female appointment with Dr. McMahon. She was absolutely wonderful. She is kind, funny, warm and very comforting as well as very astute. She took a ton of time with us and answered all my daughter’s questions. My daughter ended up giving her a hug before we left.This kind of doctoring has pretty much disappeared from our society, and I am so grateful to find a doctor like this for my daughter. I will be switching to her as well. I highly recommend this doctor to anyone looking for a gyne. She proved to me that there are still exceptional physicians out there and that we are not all just a bunch of cattle!

Dr. Wise is the consummate pro. Knowledgeable, kind, patient, attentive, nurturing, funny. I adore her. I always feel heard and know Im in the best hands. Her staff is always courteous and helpful. Appointments are consistently punctual. I would never go anywhere else!

Specialists consisting of wonderful doctors, nurses and staff that are helpful and knowledgeable. All of my questions and concerns have always been addressed at every visit. During emergencies they put you at ease and you never feel alone. My daughter and I were truly cared for and Im so happy that a place like Northwestern Specialists for women exists.

I became a new patient of Dr. Kimberly McMahon this week and I absolutely hit the jackpot! She took the time to get to know my health and history, and helped me understand my options as I’m “maturing.” I couldn’t be happier to have found a new, long term doctor! I highly recommend Dr. McMahon.

10/10 recommend NSW! I’ve gotten to know most of the staff throughout my last pregnancy and felt so taken care of and heard during the labor and delivery process as well. Everyone is so helpful and kind.

I was so excited to come to my first prenatal appointment. I moved around my schedule and got a full day nanny to make it to this appointment. Showed up at my appointment time, was turned away saying I was supposed to get there 30 minutes before my appointment to check in….! Excuse me, who goes to a doctors appointment 30 minutes before the appointment time?Checked all my confirmation emails and reminders, no where it says I should be there 30 minutes before my appointmentScheduling department lady told me she can’t book another appointment for me because they are too busy, and she will call me when she can schedule. She never called…Cried on the way back home. Not coming back here again

I never ever write reviews but this place is absolutely ridiculous. My PCP found what he believed to be a fibroid on my ovary that was too big for comfort and has been causing me a lot of pain so he recommended I see an OB/GYN. I was referred here by a colleague and had high hopes. I called to schedule an appointment in late august early September and the first available appointment was December 22nd. I took it because I needed to be seen. I receive an email to do any paperwork including medical history, etc. I get a call the day before my appointment and am told that my appointment has been canceled because the doctor I was seeing had a family emergency. Now I do hope everything is okay with said doctor and her family but that emergency is not my fault. I asked if I could be seen by another doctor or be accommodated because not only have I had this appointment for months but also took PTO to be seen asap at this office and was told there was nothing that could be done and I could be seen in the new year. Fine. I take the earliest appointment in the new year, my appointment was at 430pm. I arrive a little before 430pm thinking that would be enough time because again I did all my paperwork online and they already had everything they needed from me. I receive a call from the office literally as Im stepping out of my car asking where I was, I informed them I would be there in 2 minutes but the lady on the other end said she would have to speak to the doctor to see if she was still willing to see me. She called me back not even 10 seconds later and says the doctor will not see you because I was supposed to arrive thirty minutes before my appointment. WHAT?!?! I was NEVER told this and I even told her that and she says “oh if you were never told then that’s our fault” DAMN RIGHT IT IS. And even though I pointed this out they still refused to see me. Ive gotten emails and texts and not ONE mentioned I had to be there 30 MINUTES PRIOR. I have waited months to be seen and they cannot spare 30 minutes. People like Kimberly McMahon should NOT be in healthcare. Not only did this practice waste my time but they are messing with my health. And they DO NOT CARE. And the cherry on top? Paying $11 for parking in the lot for a total of 5 minutes. I do not recommend this practice whatsoever. Do not waste your time nor your money here. Unprofessional and do not care to inform new patients of what to expect at all.

I have loved my experience here. From check-in to check out I have been treated super well and make me feel cared for!

Dr. McMahon was a delight to meet and be seen by! The facility is very clean and service is quick and efficient.

Had my annual check up with Dr. Wise who was so patient and calm the entire appointment, answering all my questions. I never felt rushed and was able to talk through everything that I wanted to bring up. So refreshing after so many other doc appts seem to rush you in and out that you forget half of what you want to say.

From the front staff to everyone in the back were super friendly. Dr. Hillary Edelman was kind, caring, compassionate and funny. She took the time to listen to me and provided me with a lot of information but made it easy to understand and process. I highly recommend this group and physician

This practice is wonderful. Specifically I cannot say enough wonderful things about my Dr Dugan-Kim. She has taken me through successful pregnancies, unfortunate loss, all sorts of hurdles in between & always I have felt thoroughly listened to & every concern thoughtfully addressed. Before coming to this practice, I had some issues which were shrugged off & overlooked & I never feel that way here. Women have to have a Dr who really listens, won’t minimize pain & will get to the bottom of our concerns bc our bodies are so complicated & nuanced. You are in such good hands with this practice no matter what stage you are in as a woman.

Been seeing Dr. McMahon for about 15 years now. I actually moved to another state and come back to see her. Shes so incredibly thorough and its like having a conversation with a close friend rather than your doctor. Her staff is great too. If you have a problem, they always find someone to see you right away, even if its not your doctor. I really like everyone Ive seen there too. You cant go wrong with any doctor at this practice!

Dr. Ryan is the real deal. She is a wonderful person who considers not only her medical expertise, but also extends warmth, compassion, and clarity for her patients.

I was treated on time and taken excellent care of, by your staff, from receptionists to nurses and ultimately my MD. Dr Lisa Mazzullo is the best! She has a natural compassion unlike any other MD I have encountered. Along with that, her knowledge and skill level are incomparable. I love the people who work here. The entire staff is knowledgeable and very helpful. Dr. McMahon is the only doctor I have met in Chicago who is as friendly, supportive and as thorough as my what I had come to expect and enjoy from my physician team at Cedar Sinai in CA. I met Dr Edelman 2-3 years ago and since then I have sent every friend to her. She is an unbelievable provider with excellent bedside manner and an extremely therapeutic approach. Transferred to Northwestern Specialists for Women when I was 20 weeks pregnant after a less than desirable experience elsewhere. Could not be happier that I made the switch. I have been visiting Northwestern Specialists for women for over 15 years. I have loved all the doctors I’ve seen, especially Dr Dugan Kim. She is truly a wonderful doctor and person and I’m so grateful that she delivered both of my kids. Though I moved farther than I’d like from this practice, I still find it worth the drive. Literally writing the review for My girlfriend who goes to this practice and is so freaked out. It is absolutely unbelievable how awful the scheduling department is. They say they will call back the same day or sooner and no one calls back. This has happened about 5-6 times. All to schedule a procedure that is taking a toll on her. According to other reviews this is not just happening to us. Do everyone a favor and get your scheduling department in order and actually take care of you patients coming to you. Have a heart.

I’ve been going to this practice for 10 years & this most recent experience will be my last. Dr. Wise is great, but the strict & poorly communicated office policies are unacceptable. I left work 2 hrs early for my 2:15 appointment & got stuck in traffic. I called the office & let them know that my ETA was now 2:30. After holding the receptionist said to continue my trip to the office & the dr. would still see me. I got to the reception desk at 2:32 & was told that I would have to reschedule since I was more than 15 minutes late. The fact that this office values 2 minutes over a patients well being is completely ridiculous. I will never go back to Northwestern Specialists for Women & do not recommend them to anyone.

A wonderful group of doctors that have been extremely supportive through our pregnancy journey. Every doctor you work with is understanding and knowledgeable. We gave birth to our beautiful daughter this past August after several losses and greatly appreciate the care we received from this group and specifically Dr. Salasche who delivered our baby.

I’m nearing the end of my 3rd pregnancy with this group and have always had such a positive experience. I recommend Dr V to all my friends - she is so personable and smart. Appointments run on time, they communicate lab results in a timely manner, staff is very responsive with any calls or messages sent through portal.

I absolutely loved my experience with this practice for my first baby. Dr. Edelman is the kindest and most caring doctor I have ever had, I am so thankful to have had her through my pregnancy journey, she answered any and all questions I had. Even though she was not able to deliver my son, she still came to my recovery room after c-section to check on me and meet the baby. Dr. Ryan was amazing to have in labor and delivery, she has such a great sense of humor and really made me feel heard about my decision to get a c section after pushing seemed hopeless. Dr. Wise was also so wonderful for my postpartum check ups. Simply an incredible group of doctors that make you feel so comfortable, like you have known them for years. I don’t understand the negative reviews, I never had issues with appointment scheduling or changes and I thought the front desk staff were also extremely friendly. I also received timely response in their patient portal.

Thoroughly enjoyed this office and Dr. McMahon. She and her staff answered all of my questions and offered advice while still respecting my decisions. Would recommend them, especially for those new to the area and looking to establish long term care with a good doctor.

Everyone from the receptionist, medical assistant, phlebotomist, and doctor were so kind during my visit.

I’ve had a few issues with this office. 1) The person who scheduled my appointment was very rude and unhelpful. 2) My appointment with Dr Wise was at 3pm, and I received a call at 2:50pm from the office telling me that the doctor had canceled my appointment because I was “late.” All other offices that I’ve been to recommend getting to the office before the appointment, but I’ve never had an office cancel on me because I wasn’t at the office BEFORE my scheduled appointment time. Every interaction with this office so far has been horrible.

Overall, the office staff was incredibly friendly and prompt. The office itself was nice and clean. My only issue is that parking is difficult in this area - there is a garage, but parking is not validated ($11 for under 2 hours). First time appointments need to arrive 30 mins early but I was sent all forms ahead of time which made this easy and provided time to relax before seeing the doctor. My appointment started right on time.Dr. Joanna Ryan, MD was hands down the best doctor I have seen (OBGYN or otherwise). I have never experienced someone so willing to answer my questions and she did so with confidence and kindness! She was a great listener, provided great advice, and most importantly truly seemed cared about why I was visiting. She was very clear with her follow up instructions and made sure I was comfortable with concluding the appointment. I was totally impressed and would recommend this doctor to anyone!

The doctors have all been wonderful. My biggest point of frustration has been with scheduling. I am an OB patient and multiple mistakes have been made with scheduling - some appointments which needed NSTs were not made, after I had arranged childcare, and then rescheduled with NPs instead (which is fine) but also I’m missing out on the opportunity to see other doctors that ultimately could be attending my delivery; my 36 week appointment was made without an ultrasound - thankfully one of the doctors caught that but now I had to be rescheduled with an NP; was told to call on a specific date to schedule the rest of my appointments since the schedule hadn’t opened yet, then when I did call on that date, was told just to wait until my next appointment…so I did, only to find out that there are no appointments available, and they are now trying to squeeze me in, thankfully. I realize scheduling for this specialty can be challenging, but having had OB care elsewhere I’ve never had this problem before, and I think that there needs to be a better way to help patients get the care they need. This has probably been the most frustrating administrative experience I’ve had with a doctor’s office. If you are an OB patient, I would caution you to be very aware of what appointments you need, when you need them, and stay on top of the scheduling yourself as much as possible.Update - I am very happy to say that after my original review, my feedback was taken seriously and my concerns were addressed almost immediately. I would highly recommend this practice to anyone looking for an OB.

I switched to this practice when I was pregnant at the recommendation of a friend. I can’t say enough great things about this practice, especially Dr. Melissa Duggan. She is kind, compassionate and listens to her patients. I was lucky enough to also have her deliver my first born. Throughout my entire pregnancy I always had full confidence in her which made a worlds difference. The practice overall is also run very well. I had several appointments during my pregnancy and never had to wait more than 15 minutes which, as a working professional, was very important to me!

The staff and doctors at Northwestern Specialists for Women are all excellent - especially Dr. Bonnie Wise. She takes the time to make sure each visit is very personalized and remembers not only your health history, but exciting life events as well. Would give her 10 stars ifI could!

Other than the very lovely doctors I have seen in this practice, there truly is nothing good I can say about Northwestern Specialists for Women. Every time I call the practice it is answered with rudeness and a sullen attitude. I mistakenly showed up more than an hour prior to my appointment and the front desk attendant didnt point that out to me. The billing department was unwilling to help me sort out an insurance issue, that was ultimately caused by their error--and then rudely interrogated me about my insurance at the conclusion of my next visit. I have called for a Rx renewal, was told they were putting it through, to call back the next day to find out they never sent it to the pharmacy. I have worked in customer facing workplaces for my entire career, and unfortunately every customer facing employee of this practice I have interacted with led to a disappointing and frustrating interaction. I truly have enjoyed the care I have received from the medical staff, but the administrative staff is very off-putting. For this reason, I am no longer going to this practice.

Dr salache is the best. She’s very personable and efficient. I had my first mammogram today and the tech was great!

Communication is pretty bad. I called and left a message for Dr. Ryan over 3 weeks ago and she finally just responded. I used the portal to send a message and got someone that did not know what I was talking about. My prescriptions were not sent for 3 weeks which led to me having to cancel an appt elsewhere due to the medication I was finally on. I did like the Dr. but I do not like how slow the response time is or how impossible it is to talk to the actual Dr…Update: needed to contact her again and she was supposed call me back the next day…that was 10 days ago…

This is abridged due to Google’s character limit**It’s been nearly 3 years since I left this practice and I wanted to make sure I left enough time away from my experience in order to allow my emotions to settle and to write a fair review without being reactive.I will start by saying I do believe that the doctors here are good doctors and that medically speaking, they make the right decisions and are competent/trained in their specialty.As a gynecology patient of Dr.Salasches, my situation was pretty boring so I never had concerns or looked elsewhere for OB care.My situation was exacerbated by the fact that we found out we were pregnant one week into the pandemic lockdown. After scoring high on the depression screening, I was referred to a perinatal therapist who I checked in with regularly throughout my pregnancy. However, at each appointment, it was clear that I was anxious about a multitude of issues (although most of them unfounded because I had a healthy and medically ‘boring’ pregnancy). In hindsight, I feel that most of my concerns were disregarded and I was rushed through appointments without being given ample time and space to talk through the questions I had. None of the doctors I met with throughout my pregnancy, including Dr.Salasche, were particularly warm or empathetic.The real crux of my concern is specifically related to the end of my pregnancy and my postpartum care. I contracted covid in November 2020, just one week before my previously scheduled 39 week induction. When I learned that my husband and I had Covid, as well as my elderly parents, I had a complete and total mental break. Because I stopped sleeping I broke and was 100% convinced that my unborn child was going to die, or that my husband or I would die. I often called at midnight in a panic, as I sat there alone in the dark and hadn’t felt my baby kick for the last few hours. At one point, I called with a benign question and Dr.Bonnie Wise was the doctor on call that evening. After giving me a curt, stern answer to my concern, she promptly hung up on me as I started to offer an apology for bothering her in the middle of the night. The only doctor who answered one of my many calls and who spoke to me like a human being, with compassion and kindness, was Dr.Venkatachalam.Dr.Salasche delivered my baby safely and healthy through an elective C-section. For this, I am eternally grateful.However, the issues continued to surface after the birth. I continued to suffer the extreme anxiety – at this point, it was paranoia mixed with delusion – but yet again, no compassion was to be found. Eventually the psych team intervened and started me on a course of Zoloft and sleeping meds. I will never forget Dr.Wise coming into my room, cold as a slab of ice, and telling me (scolding me?) that because of my anxiety, I was at a higher risk for postpartum psychosis and that I should really make sure I follow up with a psychiatrist when I leave the hospital.After a 5 day stay in the hospital after my C-Section, we arrive home and I am still unwell. I cannot sleep and I am convinced my newborn baby is going to die of SIDS. After being home for 48 hours, my husband and I decide that I need to go back to the hospital. I call this practice and ask what I should do. The doctor on call that night (cannot remember who) tells me that I should go to Northwestern’s ER. She tells me that someone from the practice will call the ER and talk to them about my situation and hopefully get me transferred into a special wing of Prentice where I can be treated in an area for women. Needless to say, I spent 7 hours alone in the ER psych hold at Northwestern without any communication from my doctor’s office.I have since changed practices and have found a doctor better suited to my needs. i publish this review as what I hope will be a catalyst for this practice to reexamine how they treat their patients and how they approach difficult mental health situations.

Found this clinic after a recommendation from Northwestern. I was a little skeptical due to some of the other reviews, but I was very happy with my experience. All the staff was super nice, and I love Dr. V! Real advocates for womens health and making sure we can make informed decisions.

All of the doctors that I saw at Specialist for Women were knowledgeable, warm, and friendly. They took time to answer my questions thoroughly and reassure me throughout my pregnancy. Dr. Dugan was my primary ob and I liked her a lot. She is kind and works to take the best care of her patients. I trusted her insight and knowledge during my pregnancy, especially when I developed some complications. She was always very reassuring and I felt like we were on the same team when it came to my care. Dr. Dugan and the rest of the staff at Specialist for Women contribute to a welcoming, comfortable environment.

Dr. Joanna Ryan and the entire staff were so professional, and Dr. Ryan bent over backwards to make sure that I was as relaxed as was possible. I highly recommend this doctor’s office…Top Tier!!

I honestly can’t understand the negative reviews. I’ve been a patient here for 14 years - through 2 pregnancies and a number of non pregnancy related issues. It’s easy to schedule appointments, the doctors and nurses take their time, they call back same day with medical questions, and they are really on top of the research and medicine. When I ended up hospitalized with influenza during my second pregnancy, my doctors were so kind, compassionate, and reassuring. Dr. V in particular is the best doctor I’ve ever seen, period.

Dr. Mazzullo has been my doctor for years. She is kind, empathetic, and thorough. She explains any problems in easy to understand terms, and lets you know what the risks are.

FTM with a poor prenatal experience.I contacted the office for assistance they informed me that they could help me switch care providers from my initial dr to one of their providers. An appointment was set for 8am, however, I asked for a later time because I live an hr away. I knew 8am was a hard ask with AM pregnancy struggles and the unpredictable Chicago traffic. I ended up arriving 15 mins late - the office was informed at 7:45a that I was held up in traffic. I get there and there’s an issue with confirming my insurance. Though they are connected with NW and knew my insurance info. They even said I could pay out of pocket for appointment. So I asked, what they accepted credit or debit and they looked shocked, told me the price as if I couldn’t afford it and I repeated credit or debit.I spent 30mins trying to figure out what was wrong, was told I could pay out of pocket and agreed, to only to be told that because I was late the dr couldn’t see me and they were requesting me to reschedule my appt. Why even make the initial appointment when you knew you didn’t want me as a patient in the beginning…?Now, while standing there for 30mins, 2 other women arrived late for their appt. and was seen. I continue to wonder if it had something to do with me being a minority. When I was told I needed to reschedule I asked if I could do it while I was standing there. I was informed that their scheduling staff would call me to reschedule. When asked when the person would call, I was informed it would be later in the day or the next morning at the latest.I never got the call to reschedule, but got reminders to leave a review 🙄 Needless to say I’m still waiting for the staff person to call to reschedule…but it won’t matter….my son was born last week.ZERO STARS

Dr. Dugan-Kim is an excellent gynecologist and all-around doctor. I suffer from menstrual migraines and some other health issues and shes great about consulting with my specialists (including my neurologist) to make sure Im getting quality, comprehensive care.The location isnt super convenient and I agree that parking there sucks but its ultimately worth it to me to get the quality of care and bedside manner.

This practice is amazing. Very detail oriented and so kind, they make you feel cared about and really take time to investigate all issues. I would 100% recommend this practice to everyone looking for an OBGYN.

Wanting to try HRT I visited the Northwestern Specialists and walked out nonplussed. The doctor told me to change my eating and exercise more- I am pretty active already; yoga, boxing and walking daily- before trying. I agreed to that and will come back to see if I still want the treatment in three months. I was asked to send previous blood and urine tests to their portal. After several phone calls, I’m unable to do so. The portal won’t recognize me and when I ask for an alternative way to send the test, they send me back to the portal that doesn’t recognize me.

When I come to Northwestern Specialists for Women, I feel at home. It’s a place where they hold your hand if you are scared, answer every question when something is wrong, and laugh at the funny parts of obgyn. I would never go anywhere else.

I had Dr. McManuses for my OBGYN appointment. It was seamless and she made me feel so comfortable. I am new to the city and figuring everything out and made me feel very welcomed!

Dr. McMahon is a gem. Vibrant, brilliant, and relatable doctor with a caring bedside manner. Deft at procedures!!A wonderful physician to help me navigate the bumpy waters of womanhood.

I came to Dr. V as a new patient off of a recommendation from a dear friend and NP in the field. She had read up on my medical history and made sure to spend time with me before my exam to ensure I was comfortable with her and feeling safe. Dr. V was warm, clear with her questions and advice, and so understanding. Would recommend her and the rest of her very clean, efficient, and warm practice!

Love Dr Dugan and Dr Edelman. Dr Dugan did my C-section when she was on call & I’ll be grateful to her forever for keeping my baby and I safe.

I have gone here for many years. Dr. Bonnie Wise is the Best! Compassionate, smart and a great diagnostic expert. The staff is welcoming and professional. The facility is beautiful and calming.

We (my husband and I) have never received better care than the care we receive from Dr Salasche. I wish I could give her and the practice more than 5 stars. I would recommend her to everyone.

I struggled for years with a Hernia, finally it was time to get it repaired. A co-worker gave me Dr Gregory Dumanian information. Went for consultation immediately scheduled surgery! He did a Great job! I was so nervous but his team was excellent and made me feel so comfortable. Thank you Dr Dumanian!!! I feel Great!!! :)

I had a great experience at this clinic. The doctor and staff were very personable. My first visit was thorough and I feel I am in good hands.

I cannot say enough great things about this practice. They truly care about their patients, are on time or early and really make the experience so special.

I really loved Dr. Ryan, but we had a hard time getting lab results that caused a delay in care. After many phone calls and messages to both the fertility clinic they work with and the office themselves, it took two months to get important lab results back that were abnormal.

All the staff nurses and doctors are very helpful. And if they don’t have the answer they will direct you to someone who can.

Wonderful and efficient office with a caring staff and an all women’s physician team. You’ll be in great hands here.

Not happy with visit. asked for translator but was not provided. did some testing on my wife, did not explain what they were doing. pregnant women is not a lab rat nor ATM machine. she came back with multiple sheets of paper regarding about PAYMENT INFORMATION ONLY. that is right. Wife said that doctor was nice, but the team members never gave her a call back which they promised and appointment was made by nurse without even asking. she found out her appointment is in 2 days after hearing from automated appointment confirmation call.person who was helping her to make next appointment was not even looking at her while communicating and had ear phone stuck in one of her ear. yes, she was the one who said she will call back. never happened.if I were you, I will look for other hospital even though doctor was nice.

I had a negative experience with the front office. I made an appointment a month in advance (took the day off of work). They called and needed to cancel the appointment ( I understand it happens). Then we rescheduled for another date a week later - I took another day off of work. I didnt get a reminder about the appointment so I called to confirm and they didnt have it in the system. The staff was very kind but ultimately this was a bad experience.

This place is the best. Staff, MA’s, nurses, everyone is so great and kind here. I highly recommend Dr. Wise who treats her patients with compassion and care!

Dr. Idleman was amazing! She kept me laughing and laughed along with my jokes. I’m definitely recommending you guys to all my friends. I felt so welcomed and loved my time!

Love this practice. Dr. Dugan-Kim is the most phenomenal OB/GYN and delivered my son. Karina at the front desk is awesome too, always remembers my name. They are fast, get you right in, listen to your concerns, and are timely, smart and caring doctors. I highly recommend.

I would highly recommend this practice! Especially Dr. Salasche. I have been seeing her for 8 years, through my first pregnancy, Dr. Dugan-Kim delivered my first, and I am going through my second pregnancy with them now.

I went to the Northwestern Specialists for Women for my first pregnancy, and it was stressful, infuriating experience. The front and back office are incredibly disorganized and unhelpful. Resources we were given to schedule the 20-week ultrasound provided incorrect contact information and scheduling protocols, so we were sent on a wild goose chase to get the appointment scheduled. Terrible communication and rude exchanges quickly eroded our trust in Northwestern Specialists for Women. The disorganization and abysmal customer service was further revealed with genetic testing. We were again given incorrect information about when and how we would get our results. Again, what should have been a routine system turned into multiple phone calls, being redirected to multiple places, and then given excuses rather than answers or accountability. We did not receive our results until more than a month after we were told we would get them despite contradictory updates from NSW. Direct communication with the genetic testing site revealed NSW had not ordered the correct tests and were not communicating the way they told us they were. When we finally made the decision to switch, it was a hassle to get medical results transferred that ultimately required intervention by our new provider- the medical records office is particularly rude, lazy, and lacking customer service one would expect from any medical office, particularly one providing services to expectant mothers. Would highly recommend going elsewhere.

Love this practice! My doctor just recently joined and I’ve now seen every doctor in the practice and truly respect and love each and every one of them.

My long-time doctor is new to this practice so I have followed her here. So far, my experience with the practice is average. Because my doctor is extraordinary, I will continue as a patient.

My physician is wonderful and the staff was very friendly and helpful!!
