This doctor did not listen to my concerns or issues. He spent 20 minutes with me and 15 of that was during the procedure. He didnt treat my condition and it put me back in the hospital. He only cared about his hefty bill. He didnt give me the time to speak to me after the procedure and he did not show up to my follow up appt and just sent his nurse who had nothing to say. Now I have to pay another doctor to fix my problem after a large ER bill because of the pain I am in and he would not even give me a minute of his time to explain to tell me why he chose the procedure that didnt treat my condition.

Dr Black was a new physician for me and he did not disappoint! He was professional AND charming at the same time. He is knowledgeable and exudes confidence and trust, making me immediately relaxed. I feel grateful that I was referred to him and trust that I will be in the best hands for my surgery.

Doctors really do Care! I always have a wonderful experience when coming in to Dr. Black’s office. The care I received from Dr. Black was exceptional. He listened attentively to my concerns and provided personalized treatment that yielded positive results. I Selected Dr. Black as my surgeon based on his numerous positive reviews, but my personal experience was a stark contrast and a medical disaster. In June, I underwent a routine laparoscopic hysterectomy and was sent home directly from the surgery. Within two days, I developed a severe fever, chills, and abdominal pain. My condition deteriorated rapidly, and I was forced to go to the ER. The ER nurse recommended admitting me for IV antibiotics based on my lab results, but they were waiting to hear back from my surgeon. The ER team and my family were perplexed that despite clear evidence of pneumonia and a hematoma/abscess, Dr. Black had advised releasing me home. I never spoke with him or saw him. I was too ill to go home, and the ER staff, who had reviewed my labs and vital signs, advised me to stay.I continued to deteriorate while in the hospital and received no follow-up from Dr. Black. After my family complained to hospital management about the lack of oversight, I finally received a reluctant call from Dr. Black after a week of IV antibiotic treatment. When I informed him of my persistent fevers, he asked, “Are you sure it isnt just hot flashes?”(Incidentally, I had not had my ovaries removed and had no pre-surgery symptoms of menopause.) I then mentioned that my CT scan showed an abscess, to which he responded, “You havent had a CT scan.” At this point, I had undergone three CT scans, as well as numerous lab tests, which he clearly had not reviewed. Additionally, I had become dehydrated because the nurses were still administering Colace despite my signing a waiver to opt out, as I had no doctor overseeing my care or creating a treatment plan. My condition continued to worsen, and after realizing how little Dr. Black cared and how I was deteriorating, my family decided to transfer me to Cleveland Clinic where I spent another week in the hospital. Fortunately, I received exceptional care under Dr. Arnolds guidance, and the infectious disease team there saved my life by providing appropriate care and adjusting my IV antibiotics. After two weeks in the hospital and a week of home health IV therapy, I am finally healthy again, thanks to their efforts. While Im sure Dr. Black has helped others, I felt compelled to share my experience to highlight the substandard care I received and to warn others.

I am an OB/GYN physician so have worked with many doctors over 30 years. Dr. Jonathan Black is one of the nicest most competent easily approachable gyn cancer specialists that I have ever known. He is very personable, down to earth and an amazing surgeon. You are lucky to be his patient if you need his care. Recommend with a 10 star rating!!

I had a horrible experience with my last gynecological oncologist and was so blessed to find Dr. Jonathan Black. His office is welcoming and he is very knowledgeable. This is not a place any of us want to be, but they make it a pleasant experience. I am happy to have found them.

Spent an hour and a half in the waiting room which only had one person waiting before me and was full when I left with one lady complaining to the receptionist that she had been waiting for almost two hours in the waiting room. Reception is far from warm or approachable. Dr. Black needs to work on his bedside manner and the follow up call to make a further appointment was made a week after my Apt. I found another specialist immediately after waiting for a month to see this one.

I drove to this office from Port Saint Lucie for a second opinion after a recent cancer diagnosis. The staff is so friendly and helpful, on the phone and in person, which is a breath of fresh air. The office is clean and well put together. And Dr. Black, although a little direct and cold in his delivery is very knowledgeable and informative. I didn’t feel rushed, and he took the time to answer all of my questions. I am glad I went to him for a second opinion and would recommend him if I were asked.

I had a robotic surgery , he explained the process straight forward, brief, every details to me. He talked to my husband before and right after my surgery. I really appreciate him explaining to my husband my case, what he found out during the procedure and what he did while I’m still in the recovery room. I was sent home after 24 hours. Get a second opinion! Dr. Black said that he did a procedure that he didn’t do. When I asked him if I had a cyst or mass on ovary he shrugged and said he didn’t know! Just did an ultrasound nothing else but recommended a hysterectomy!!! I read a similar yelp review that he wanted to do a hysterectomy until that person got a second opinion!!

My daughter was referred to Dr. Black from an ER physician. He immediately wanted to see my daughter and his office staff made sure she was seen right away.Dr. Black took his time to explain everything. He was very thorough reviewing and explaining her CT scan to us and what her surgery would entail. He made my daughter and I feel a bit calmer in a very stressful situation. After speaking with him, I knew my daughter was in great hands.Every office staff that we spoke to was absolutely amazing. I loved my visit. The personnel in front were very nice and attentive to my needs. After I was sent to the back 10 minutes later and met Dr. Black. He introduce himself and got straight to the point. Dr. Black is amazing and I don’t really care for doctors, on the whole. I received great care and success with my surgical procedure. It will require diligence and PATIENCE in getting the surgery scheduled, but be assured once youre in the hands of the hospital and Dr. Black, everything is about procedural excellence and top quality care. His bedside manner is very helpful and connected. I felt my questions and concerns were well addressed. If you ever had any concerns about bias in the medical profession, you do not have this issue with Dr. Black. As a woman, I thought I would be in better care under a female surgeon, however I no longer believe that to be the case. Dr. Black has sincerely been the best surgeon that I have had and I’ve had four surgeries for the same or similar reasons, to date. It’s never easy to consider options when you need to have surgery, so I hope this helps in letting you know that Dr. Black‘s practice is indeed a “safe place” for reasons beyond the surgery itself.

Dr. Black was fine. His surgery coordinator Merline never returns calls and places you on hold for over 20 minutes at a time. She finally called to schedule my surgery 1 month after my original appointment. The patient care and response time here is horrific. I will go somewhere else where I can get scheduled in a timely manner.

We called the office from my ObGyns office because I needed to be seen as soon as possible. The person who answered was kind and compassionate. She got me in as soon as possible. I was greeted upon opening the door. The nurse was wonderful. I was so upset hearing about my diagnosis of cancer but Dr. Black just looked me in the eye and was very clear about his treatment plan and I immediately trusted him and felt safe. I was diagnosed with Cancer when I was in the hospital. I was given 5 pints of blood before i had surgery. So many other doctors kept treating me for infection i was bleeding for 3 straight years. Dr. Jonathan Black found the problem immediately. He gave me surgery i was so sick now i am Cancer free . Thank GOD..I will always be eternally grateful for Dr. Black saving my life. On the day of my appointment i really dressed up. He did not recognize me. I just laughed again thank you Dr. Black.

Honestly I hate writing reviews but I am very upset with the care and treatment received at the office. First time meeting Dr Black was ok he explained what he wanted to explained what he felt was necessary to explain to me. One week after my appointment I requested my office notes and in Dr Black notes he stated he discussed surgery options with me and wanted to get a sonohysterogram done before. Well he mentioned NOTHING like that to me.The day of my imaging I showed up at the office to get the test done only to find out 15 mins into sitting waiting I find out that the tech called up and they were about to call patients. My imaging was then rescheduled for 2 weeks later, showed up at the office again to get my imaging done and half way through the test I asked about the saline being infused come to find out I was scheduled for the wrong test. The tech then completed my test and escorted me back to the waiting area to only find out after they reviewed dr notes to find out that the wrong test was ordered. I was upset at this point because I work for a doctor office and mistakes like these can be life threatening to patients. I did ask for a copy of both test that was done on me and was informed that I will receive them on the day of my follow up appointment. The day of my follow up appointment I requested my images and come to find out there was no record of the test being done on me. I feel like if something as simple as an incorrect test being performed on me is the same mistake the surgical coordinator can make such mistake and will result to the wrong operation.

Walking into a doctors office is always nerve racking, especially going to see your oncologist for the first time. I didn’t know what to expect but after reading his reviews, I felt comfortable and confident in Dr. Black. His office was fairly busy being that there were 3 different doctors there that day.. So I knew patience was key. After signing a few new patient forms on an iPad, I went back to sit in the waiting area. I couldn’t help but look around the room to get a feel and vibes of everyone else in the waiting area. For the most part, everyone looked calm which helped me say calm. Within 30-35 mins I was called into a examining room and before I knew it, Dr. Black walked in. He introduced himself in a very professional manner and asked to hear about what’s been happening. Prior to seeing me, he was able to look at my mri and knew exactly what I was referring to. He spent about 30+ mins explaining what was happening, explained the cancer itself and what needed to be done. There was never a moment during my visit where I felt rushed. He was extremely informative, which helped reassured me that he was the right doctor. I’m now scheduled for surgery in 2 weeks and I couldn’t be more thankful. I’m rooting for anyone in this situation. And I would definitely say, finding the right doctor makes a world of a difference. I’m know this is going to be a bumpy road to recovery but I know I’m in the right hands with Dr. Black.

I already knew I needed surgery for my advanced LS because Dr. Andrew Goldstein from Centers for Vulvovagial Disorders in New York had seen me earlier this year and recommended the surgery. I searched the internet for a doctor in Forida that I thought would be best to conduct the surgery. I decided on Dr. Black.I met with him and was very pleased with how seriously he took my concerns. He was very point blank with me regarding how much the success of this surgery would rely on my diligence during the weeks post-op. He said, “I will do this surgery but you must understand that 50% of the success is on me and 50% is on you.” I already knew this but appreciated that he was honest with me. We discussed the surgery and post-op in great detail.My expectation is that we will be 100% successful. I’m extremely pleased with Dr. Black.

This office was recommended to me. I called, scheduled an appointment on Dec 22 for Friday January 21st. After being rescheduled back and forth 3 times I got a call yesterday that I wont be seen without my records!! I called today to make sure I will be seen by a doctor for my annual just to be told that the doctor doesnt do annual exams.. after waiting for 3 weeks!!! And receiving all these calls to reschedule.. the lady on the phone was rude and didnt care to help. Not someone I want to deal with at a gynecologist!! So much wasted time... now I have to start all over again to look for a an OBGYN that cares!! I hope nothing comes up in my mammogram or ultrasound when I finally get the prescription!!

I was referred here by another Dr. The ladies at front were nice and helpful. I arrived at 2:45 for 3pm appointment. I didnt see the Dr until around 4:30 pm though. 😕When he came he seemed rushed. I blame the medical industry polivies/standards of not really giving much effort to Dr-patient interactions anymore. He said he needed to use the microscope. Ok fine. He said he needed to do a scrape on my cervix. Ok, alarmed a little. Thought this was just routine. No pain meds or anything?It hurt like -I dont know how to describe it- I felt violated. 💔I cried during (asking if it should hurt like this) and after (all the way out the office) this procedure that took about 5 minutes but felt much longer! He asked me if I was ok. I told him no. I told him he was not gentle at all. Although he apologized it didnt really do much. He gave me some Tylenol and did his best to answer my questions and concerns about my health. I forgot some of what I wanted to ask because I was in shock at how painful that procedure was. I have had it done before but dont recall it feeling like that.I am acutely aware that the experience & pain of Black women is less taken into account than that of European women and we die and endure unnecessary pain on hospital beds and tables due to negligence. Im still upset about this. I dont believe the Dr meant harm but this interaction did not go well for me.

For every difficult situation the female body goes through, there is always a heart that nervously flutters and a mind that reels in uncertainty. This is when humanity is most important. I am so grateful for the staff in Dr. Black’s office. What a crew! Most definitely a great first visit.

What can i say where do i start. Dr Black is an amazing surgeon and doctor the ladies at the office is very warm patient and friendly whenever i call the office someone is always on the phone to help me or give me advice. I hate bashing or speaking badly of anyone, but Dr Black wasnt my first choice to do my surgery i was referred to a next surgeon by gynecologist. When i went to that office my wait time was off the chain, which i didnt complain about because I have a Medical problem so i sit and wait until it was my turn, when i finally saw the doctor he only spoke about 10 words to me no more probably less, didnt explain anything to me only examined me you have kids i said no, ok we are going to do a surgery make an appointment with surgical coordinator, all said ok thank you. Sitting waiting for a next a hour only to be told by the coordinator there is some issue with my health insurance i should give them 3 weeks i said ok, i know times flies. I went to check out the lady thats doing billing did a poor job with my insurance she wanted to charge me $375 which i only have a copay of $5. I told her im not going to pay it because i meet my deductible shes like oh Im not seeing so i have to send you a bill, i told her no your not, please get your manager and let her figure this out, which i had to call my insurance and on the phone for 2 hours to sort it which she couldnt figure it out but the office manager came did something on her computer 2 times and apologize and said i only have a $5 copay. Now remember Im still waiting my 3 weeks came and pass no call or email from that office in Hollywood, i call them i spoke with the coordinator her remarks to me was if Im in pain i should go to the emergency room, as if i dont have a job and i dont need to get sick leave from work..So i kindly said thank you hang up my phone and went on Google where i found doctor Black he took my insurance, i waited 3 weeks before i could see him, the wait in the office was a little lengthy but it was ok, my gynecologist office didnt faxed my referral over but the MA in Dr. Blacks call the office they send everything over, the ladies in the office is very patient and they try their best to accommodate everyone. When i met with the Dr Black he came in the room prepared he read my chart before seeing me he explained where my fibroids were he showed me on one of diagrams were they located and why i have pain and type of procedure he is going to do on me and how long my surgery would be. I can gladly say i did my Surgery last Monday and it was a success i went home the same day i was bit scared wondering if i would be ok, but thanks be to God everything is good i felt pain the first 2 todays but Im great now. Im just waiting for 2 my weeks visit with him. If you are considering to go with him i say yes yes. No one is perfect only God but you can trust Dr Black.Thank again from the entire staff.

If I could rate a negative I would. Poor everything. I have been calling for months no call backs. When I go to the office everyone is unavailable. RUN away from this doctor and this entire staff. Voicemail is all I get. I was seen once for a consultant. I have a $459 bill for that. I scheduled a surgery on that day but canceled because the surgery coordinator never contacted me. I needed paperwork to be completed for my job. I got nothing. But they were timely in submitting every claim to my insurance company. I got calls from the hospital saying I was scheduled, I said I only selected a dated and dropped off paperwork for which I need assistance. 10 voicemails later... nothing Worse experience in life with a doctor. Practices like this is terrible for the profession. I hope someone opens an investigation on this practice. Something is not right.

So thankful for Dr. Back and his team. They have been so helpful and kind to me, planning fast so I could get the treatment I needed. I couldnt be more grateful for him!!!

Wow, what can I say. Well, I was referred to this office for bad symptoms I’ve been having with my fibroids that I’ve dealing with for years. Did a UFE ( uterine fibroid embolization) but that wasn’t a good idea. So, my next option was to do surgery. I originally had a schedule date for April 27th. Pre op testing (April 23rd) came up positive for covid. So, I end up waiting for two weeks. Until I was clear. So, after they reschedule me for May 18th, I agreed . My previous pre op results was given to the doctor on why I had to be rescheduled for the 18th of May. So, a day before my appointment I went to plantation general hospital to do another pre op screening. Everything was clear for me continue with the producer. came out good they even took a chest X-ray to see if my lungs were okay. After leaving the hospital I received a called from the Doctor office regarding result from April 23rd, requesting to reschedule my appointment a month from May 17th. I told my doctor office, I would not be able to wait a month, I already made arrangements. Therefore, we agreed to reschedule the surgery the follow week May 25th.Even though, I was referred to this doctor office, I realize I should have talked to the doctor more, check out the reviews and communicate with hospital and the doctor.

Dr black seems very nice good bed side manner. I haven’t had surgery yet but he’s made me feel comfortable about it So far so good

I called two minutes ago the receptionist told me quote he is not accepting people with medicaid right now I told her he is in the book as a provider but she said no we are not seeing people w Medicaid right now. Beware only top insurance accepted. Poor people have it bad. Hard to find good help when you are poor or do not have top healthcare insurance. Hopefully, the world will be a better place in the future. Most likely the new generation.

Great experience, the staff is very kind, the waiting time was less of 30 minutes. Dr Black very polite and explicit, he was no rushing , he took his time to answer my questions.

A bit insensitive at times, there must be other options than just taking away all of a womans reproductive organs which interrupts their mental and emotional health. He also needs to explain in details the side effects of having low hormone levels, this is like going through hell and theres not enough treatment options that effectively help, without creating other health issues.

First of all,office is very clean and welcoming. Great staff and as always Dr. Black is one of the best. Would recommend to everyone 💯%

Did not have a good experience.Very unhappy with the staff. Waited about 1 hour in the exam room to later be told that the exam could not be performed.The wait time did not bother me. What bothered me was that I was there that whole time and nothing absolutely nothing was done. I wasted my time and money. Basically, I paid for a visit that never even happened.
