My first visit with Dr. Perkins today went well. I am beyond childbearing age. He treated me with dignity and respect. He pushed a button on the wall to call a female nurse to come in when he was going to examine me. He carried on a conversation with me, which made it not so awkward while he was examining me. I noticed this sign on the wall. Very kind and knowledgeable physician. 😊😊

I saw this doctor in 2018 and after starting therapy I’ve realized that this was in fact assault. There’s numerous reviews online and here on Google from women who were also assaulted. He should be and will be in prison. Avoid at all costs.

About a year ago I found out I had mild dysplasia on my cervix and I was set to have this followed up on about a year later to see if this was continuing to get worse or if it remained the same. I was scheduled to meet with Dr.Bryan Perkins at Southside OBGYN to discuss the previous results and to set up another appointment for a second colposcopy. When I arrived I found that I would be getting a pap and colposcopy that day, which wasn’t planned but was fine considering what was going on with me physically. After going with the nurse to my room and talking with her briefly I was given my gown, and she left so I could get undressed. So I did, and I waited for her to return with Dr.Perkins. When the door opened, dr Perkins came in alone. He greeted me and we discussed some things regarding my health and current condition and that was all fine. He then approached me and pushed me back into the chair, lifted up my gown and the paper cover you are provided, fully exposing my vagina and bottom half, without consent or anything and continued on to check out my abdominal area. Typically they cover your bottom half with the cover and lift the gown up so as not to expose you..but not him. After this he went around the chair and without speaking a word to me reached both of his arms under my thighs, grabbed me by my hips and pulled me down the chair. I was shocked…too stunned to speak, and very uncomfortable as this motion was very aggressive and similar to if your significant other were pulling you down to do private things in a sexual manner. I knew this wasn’t typical as I am 26 and have had my share of paps, but I honestly did not know how to respond so I said nothing. He finished the pap, and at the end went to do whatever they do when they stick their fingers in at the end. This man stuck his fingers in and out of me numerous times. Idk why I didn’t say anything or why I felt so powerless in that moment but I did nothing and it continued about four more times. When all that was done and the nurse left he sat in front of my chair on his stool and talked to me about the pap. But while he did this he placed both hands on my knees, then the middle of my thighs, while I am still naked from the waist down just touching me continuously and finished it off with a firm grab to my shoulder, again unwelcomed and without consent. This wasn’t sitting right with me, and was overshadowing the devastating news I had just received. So much so that I decided to look into him after getting some support from family. I found two other women that this had happened to online and I would be surprised if that is all. I called and asked to speak to HR, as I had a surgery coming up and he was scheduled to perform it and I wanted to give them an opportunity to handle this professionally and internally and I left a voicemail. I did not get a call back, so I called again the following week and spoke to the operations manager, I told her this was my first male obgyn and told her my story to which she chuckled at one point of the call, and proceeded to tell me Dr.Perkins had been in practice for over 20 years, I offered to email her the other women’s accounts of what happened as well to which she had no interest. She advised me she would “have some conversations” and get back to me. They humiliated me numerous times in and out of this office and completely disregarded what happened to me and avoided a paper trail. Idc how long he has been in practice or how great he is. This man violated me while I was in a vulnerable position undergoing a painful procedure and they all treated me like a liar and talked about it amongst themselves.

I was a little thrown off by the way he pulls you by your hips and down to the end of the table but I really needed a doctor. He ended up finding stage 4 endometriosis and performing two surgeries including a full hysterectomy. Tho all my symptoms have returned and all my research shows that endometriosis can still persist.. he insists theres no way I still have it. In addition to that, my boyfriend came to my final visit with him and it was only time he didnt drag me by the hips. Pretty sure that indicative of knowing youre doing something wrong. Its unfortunate that women have to roll with things like this out of desperation for medical attention. My new doctor was not a fan of this.

This man should not be practicing medicine. He has assaulted multiple women in exam rooms. He should be in jail.
