Planned Parenthood - Southside Health Center

I am giving two stars because it was easy to schedule and the lady who did my ultrasound was competent. The nurse lady who gathered my initial information I had some issues with. She first of all asked me after collecting all my info I assume you are keeping this pregnancy?. A bit insensitive to ask someone at Planned Parenthood, somewhere people frequently go when they need to terminate for various reasons. As I was not planning on carrying, she told me she could provide me some information and she handed me a packet but said she did not know anywhere that performs abortions at 14 weeks. Well inside her little information packet was the information in the photos below. As you can see, there were multiple clinics listed within driving distance that offered these services well beyond 14 weeks. It is also a quick Google search anyone can do to see that abortions past 14 weeks are legal and available in both the neighboring states of Ohio and Illinois. So either (a) this location does not educate their employees before they interface with patients or (b) she wanted to withhold the information from me for another reason. I will just leave that information as is for any prospective patients to make with it what they will.

They were nice to my fiance. timing and appointments are easy for you to work with and the people that work there are just nice caring people in general. Also the office is very clean

Last time I was here I was only a teen and got the implant, terrified then but luckily had my mom to hold my hand. Today I had to go by myself to get it replaced and I don’t remember the lady’s name that replaced it for me cause I was so nervous I forgot but she was AMAZING. So sweet, I was just chatting away with her and didn’t feel a thing and didn’t even realize she was done. So thank you guys for making me feel comfortable, today and back then ❤️

Be very careful when you give them your credit card. On 2 separate appointments they have overcharge me for my shot by $236.00. Calling their billing department will get you nowhere as after being on hold for a long period of time, your are then thrown into a voicemail that you can not leave a message at because it hangs up on you. I have also sent in 2 emails via their patient portal and have yet to receive a response.UPDATE: Over a month now and I am still trying to get them to refund the $236.00 they overcharged me. They are now responding via the patient portal but only refunded me $12 so far. They keep asking for the proof, which I keep sending, but then they ignore me for a couple of days. I then have to start the explanation over again, which prompts them to ask for the proof again. This company is a joke. BEWARE!! You probably should pay in cash if you go here.

I would go elsewhere!!! My daughter went to get a depo shot because she is away at college and couldnt get home to her regular doc. When she arrived she was told her insurance wouldnt cover it despite the fact shes been to other locations where it was fully covered. We checked, and our insurance does show this location as In Network, so she requested that they check again. The front desk staff was rude, refused to run it again, and said her system was correct. She wont be back, and for an organization that touts being a low cost health option for young women, the $118 that I just paid for my daughter that should have been fully covered by insurance had your staff actually tried to do anything to help says otherwise.

First time going. they were super sweet, informative & overall just made me comfortable even though i was nervous and scared. i couldn’t have asked for a better experience!! thank you, i’ll definitely come back.

The nurses were very unprofessional and treated me as if I was stupid. They suggested I buy my first three months in advance without I trial period, so I did. The pills have since caused multiple infections and Im stuck with them for 3 months since I paid 170 for them. I will not be returning here again, and their headquarters are going to hear about this.It took over an hour for them to see me when I got there early and no one was in front of me. Everyone was rude and very immature. The only professional one was the elderly nurse.

I havent had any bad experiences here. I go for birth control and honestly the experience is pretty equivalent to any other doctors office Ive been to. I expect to wait and be patient and make sure my phone is charged so Im not bored. The nurses and office staff are straight forward. The only issue I did have here was expecting a bill and not getting that bill until 3 months after I was seen.

Im their first patient to recieve a testosterone script. Its been over a month and they will not communicate with the pharmacy to get paperwork filled out for pre authorization with insurance. Im totally lost and at this point they wont even return my calls. I have called quite a bit with no answer or call back.

I went here to receive my birth control shot. The manager herself told me that my insurance would completely cover it and if not that planned parenthood would have me covered. I went for three appointments and scheduled my fourth under the impression I was covered. A day before my next appointment they informed me that they couldn’t administer my shot if I did not pay at least half of my bill. I asked how much I owed and they said $800. I asked how could three shots amount to 800!? They billed the wrong insurance and on top of that got my bill mixed up with another patient and expected me to pay for it. Out of desperation I paid half the bill only to find out they’d been billing the wrong insurance company and I would be getting my shot a week late. Every time I call (whether it be the customer service line or the center themselves) no one can help me or find a solution. They tell me to call different numbers. I’ve been dealing with this for 2 months and still no one can help me. The last time I called I was even hung up on. I’ve been very patient throughout this whole situation but 2 months and no one able to reach out or help me is frustrating. I know they have helped many but in my case, no help at all. Find a different center.

Great place! Clean, quiet, easily accessible and felt safe. The staff were all friendly and supportive. Came to get my prescription renewed and have decided that theyll be getting my business and money from now on. Highly recommended.

The nurses were all very friendly and didnt make me feel uncomfortable in any way. It felt like a normal visit to the doctor and i was in and out in 30 minutes. Dont listen to all the negative reviews this place and the people were great

Ive had my appt. For 3 weeks now that was the soonest they could get me in today the day of my appt. I got a call about 10 saying one of the nurses has a bad migraine could i come aby earlier (my appt was at 110) i said sure i can be there at noon.. i show up at 1150 its now 1 and im still waiting!!! What was the point of coming early!!!

Sure has changed from when I was a teenager. 230 bucks for an STD test for a young adult? Wtheck. Thought there was a sliding scale trying to stop diseases right? Only rich peeps can go to the PP now. Ordering test online includes meds if necessary 99 bucks. Still hurts but way better than 230. Wow way to keep our kids safe.

Everyone was very nice. Anyone giving these girls a bad review are being a bit too nit picky in my opinion. They really helped me, and you have to consider that Planned Parenthoods in Indiana are not getting the funding they need to be GREAT at everything.

Worst experience EVER! Theirs a lady name Hope who’s highly uneducated and manipulative. I would never come back to this location EVER.

The wait time isn’t long at all and the staff is excellent here compared to other places. A huge shoutout to the receptionist and Morgan who were very patient and super sweet!!

Un professional people you will ever meet..so it takes two hours of get a pregnancy test? Never taking anyone here ever again..this place needs to go asap and fire all the people there..

Super sweet staff, had my nexplanon removed and it was quick and painless. Thank you ladies so much for everything!

The nurse practitioner is excellent here. The staff are wonderful and treat everyone with discretion.

Be prepared to wait 50 plus minutes past your appointment time to be seen
