Don’t waste your time making an appointment at this planned parenthood. I got to my 3pm appointment 15 minutes early and I sat until 3:15-3:20. They failed to let me know they were running alittle behind. And an hour or so behind is little to them. I finally got into a room & was asked a couple questions and then was half naked on a bed for about 30-45 more minutes. They do not respect your time. They didn’t even care that it upset me and didn’t even ask me to reschedule. And gave me a lame apology. Totally treated me like my needs did not matter and this matter was really important to me because it’s my freaking health but again it seem to not matter to them.

They seem to suck. I came in off the highway as I was driving from out of town. Paid for parking got into the building there was nobody at the desk. Wasted 15 minutes (waiting) & dollar for parking. And the bathrooms are locked and you need a key for them!

I was able to get an appointment within just a few days! Staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. The whole visit only took about an hour including the wait. It was surprisingly a great experience. I had a lot of questions - I have PCOS so I often have pH imbalances and other womens health issues. They were very informative and I honestly couldnt have asked for a more positive experience.

Friendly staff and comforting environment!I have always been terrified of doctors offices but the people at this location make me feel extremely safe.I got my Nexplanon implant a little over two months ago & the women who did it (Molly) was explaining everything she was doing as well as when to expect the shot, numbness, etc. Great place!

The first two times I went to the Kent location I was pretty pleased with the staff and how they were running things in the office. My third visit I was scheduled at 11:10, I was waiting an hour before they saw me. Finally, the appointment gets started and when the MA checked my blood pressure she did not get a proper result from it, and had to asked her again to retake it. The staff were very behind on scheduling and just wasn’t a pleasant staff to begin with.

I think it’s time I wrote a review about my IUD horror story at this place. In 2016/2017, I had the Mirena put in. It was the most pain I have ever experienced in my entire life. I was not told ahead of time about taking ibuprofen or how painful insertion might be. After insertion, I got very dizzy and felt like I was about to pass out. The NP proceeded to explain aftercare to me while I was lying on the table with my eyes closed, trying not to black out. She then left me in the room alone to get dressed. After lying on the table for about 10 minutes, I frantically called someone to pick me up, as there’s no way I could drive home. Nobody checked on me in the exam room during this time. I got dressed, paid, and left. I sat in my car for about 20 minutes until I felt stable enough to drive home, as nobody was available to pick me up. For months after I was unable to exercise because I could feel the Mirena during any kind of movement that used my core muscles. I was told I would “get used to it.” I didn’t, and chose to have it removed 6 months later. When I came in for removal, the nurse asked if I had had sex within the last 5 days. When I answered yes, she said that there’s a possibility I could become pregnant after they remove the Mirena. Nobody told me to abstain for 5 days before removal. I asked what the chances were that I could become pregnant and the same NP who did the insertion said, “if we take it out today, you’ll get pregnant.” When I finally did have it removed days later, the discomfort went away completely. Removal was painless, thank god… I was terrified of the pain I might be in due to the pain of insertion. After that, I decided to just see a primary care physician for my contraceptive. This doesn’t even cover the wait times at this clinic, which are ridiculous, and the times I wasn’t told that an oral contraceptive they prescribed would lessen the effectiveness of another medication I was taking at the time. I don’t know if this clinic has improved in recent years, but I’m disgusted that I had this experience at a clinic that is supposed to value women’s health above all else.

This was one of the most positive experiences Ive had at any gynecologist. Every person I talked to, doctor, nurse or receptionist, was extremely patient and kind. They were able to help me get the birth control I wanted even though I had low income and no insurance. They never made me feel like I was worth less because of it. Their goal was to help me, and they did. They treated me like a human being, not a number. The facility was spotless and up-to-date. I dont think Ill ever go anywhere else for my gynecological needs. Big thanks to everyone there!

If I could give zero stars for my experience based on the amount of emotional anguish that Ive experienced over about the last week, I would. I made an appointment at this particular center to get my Nexplanon implant removed and decided to get another put in, since the gal on the phone had informed me that they didnt have to order them in advance, like other places do. Upon arrival, everything seemed fine and staff were friendly enough. My FIRST red flag should have been when not only the staff member taking my vitals, etc., but also the nurse practitioner who actually removed and inserted the new implant, both said (in response to my wanting my old implant removed after the **FDA approved** time of having it in for three years) you know theyre good for FIVE years, RIGHT?. (Keep in mind, even in their waiting room with their PSA style information playing over their TV screen, they even say on THAT (about the implant) that its approved for safe use for up to three years — NOT five, like all their staff try telling you when you walk in the door). The information that is provided to you after insertion/removal also specifically says that **Planned Parenthood** (nobody else — not the FDA, Nexplanon themselves, or actual hospital professionals — like the OB-GYN that ended up removing mine) says that THEIR research (cited from 2016-2017, but is ongoing, according to them) indicates that the implant is safe for five years. After getting my new implant inserted and leaving the office, I noticed that I had a significant amount of numbness going down my arm (not upper arm, where the insertion site is), but from about elbow to wrist. Since Ive had the implant before, I didnt recognize this as being normal after insertion and decided to call them back and inquire about it. After explaining my symptoms to the nurse practitioner (Ana) that had inserted it earlier in the day, the only solution she offered (without much reassurance at all that something wasnt terribly wrong) was that I could come back in and she could remove it, which I opted to, because I was pretty concerned at that point. After returning to the office that afternoon (only a few hours beyond when my original appointment was), I had developed hematomas over both the removal and insertion sites, and the removal site in particular was still bleeding — even after being wrapped and bandaged for hours. The nurse practitioner seemed more concerned after making those discoveries, and stated that she was giving me an ER referral to get checked out, regardless. However, upon trying to remove the new implant as requested, she also was unable to locate that. Not really providing ANY reassurance, she stated that they would be able to fully evaluate me at the ER, check for potential blood clots (which can also be EXTREMELY DANGEROUS), and hopefully remove the implant — and that she either couldnt locate it because of all the swelling that there was because of the hematomas, or that it couldve migrated (a.k.a., wasnt in the correct spot, and could also be EXTREMELY dangerous). This nurse practitioner and the receptionist (Dakotah) that were present were unable to tell me where the nearest ER was off the top of their head, and when they did find one through Google, it ended up not being in use anymore (Kent doesnt have an ER, for those who are unaware), so I had to drive further to Ravenna when already under extreme stress.During my approximately five hour visit to the ER, my SECOND red flag about PP and this location, shouldve been when the attending doctor scoffed a bit (a scoff that seemed indicative of some negative impressions of PP, to say the least) when I stated that I had gotten this implant placed there, and that was the reason for my visit to the ER. I thankfully got the implant removed by a much more competent OB-GYN several days after it was placed by PP, and I would NOT recommend this PP (or any, based on what Ive learned) to ANYONE that cares about not only their physical health, but also their mental/emotional health.

I came to this location last week to get my nexaplon (birth control) removed from my arm. 6 days later the strips covering my incision came off and there is nothing there. It’s amazing. Everyone working there is amazing. I’ve been coming here since I was 15. I’m 21 now and I will never go anywhere else for birth control, tests, etc. They also got me in and out which was great.

I have to say... I havent been to a PP since I was a teen and needed BCP and health exams but didnt have insurerance. Well, almost 20 years later and now working for myself I dont have insurance again. Came for a wellness exam and an SUPER impressed with both the kindness of the staff (Dr. Shannon was the sweetest) and the office environment. What Im even more thrilled about is the options for people and identities that did not exist back then. It makes my heart happy to know there are places where those who need help and healthcare in a safe and judge-free zone can get it.

I love this place. I lived in Georgia for a time before moving to Kent for college, and when I had to get a new birth control prescription in Ohio instead of Georgia, I made an appointment here. The staff were friendly and understanding, even when I told them I didnt have much money or insurance. Seeing a doctor and getting my first pack of bc pills only cost me $42 dollars. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for reproductive health care. And yes, their lobby is small.

I asked multiple times prior to my appointment and during my appointment how much this would cost me. No one would even give me an approximation of how much my bill would be; all they would tell me was that I qualified for 70% off. A month later I got a bill for $150. I am a college student paying rent and buying food each month so this bill limited the amount of groceries I could buy for myself. In addition to this, the staff were all unpleasant and rude. The woman examining me had this disgusted look on her face the entire time and treated me like I was an idiot. I dont know about other Planned Parenthood locations, but I will never be going back to this one and I advise others to do the same.

GO ANYWHERE ELSE. girls who work here are mean and lazy.have made me cry...randomly switched my birth control to a COMPLETLEY DIFFERERENT ONE, I take three packs then they refuse to give me anymore until my appt, which I just cancelled because Ive been telling them for days that I travel for a living and need the BC before I go. things wouldnt be all outta whack had they called me and told me monthes ago they needed to CHANGE my BC and I needed an APPT. instead I come in for a refill of my old stuff and they say they dont have it. and throw something different at me. the lady who has made me shake and cry she is so rude is Janet. my husband sees the fear in my eyes before I call PP because he knows someone on the other end is gonna be rude to me. NO WOMAN should have to go through this much trouble just trying to stay on birth control. this is my body/cycle/hormornes these little girls are playing with up there. there are other planned parenthoods in the area...go to a damn doctor...this place is seriously terrifying.

Very unhappy! I was told certain things were free and that the majority of my visit would be covered by my insurance then to be hit with a bill larger than expected really sucks! I dont have the money to cover all the unexpected fees so now I have to figure out something. Ive donated to this particular PP numerous times so to be caught off guard with this makes me so mad. I will not be back.
