Planned Parenthood - Plano Health Center

I called to get pricing and tried to clarify that it covered everything and not just the visit or a possible ultrasound or whatever other testing may be done. I asked for the name of the representative that I was speaking to just in case I needed it for reference. She sounded annoyed from the jump after I was asking about the coverage for the given price. She gave me the name Jamie and then said Thank you for calling and hung up while I was trying to get the appointment set up. Guess they arent taking new patients 🤷🏽‍♀️

Highly highly recommend!!! Everyone was so professional and personable. I was put right to ease. It was run so smoothly. I had my arm implant taken out & the lady walked me through the process, answered all my answers and was very knowledgeable. I would feel very comfortable coming back again.

This place is corrupted like any other OB provider in Texas. I need to verify whether I am pregnant or not but the lady kept repeating on the phone you are seeking miscarriage management and we DONOT offer that service. Ok calm down! You are not helpful!

I had a great experience. I went in for an IUD removal and everything went smoothly however, I was told (before getting on the table) that if my IUD removal was unsuccessful then I would still have to pay. This I found a bit odd and I would understand having to pay for the resterilization of the equipment but I do not understand paying the whole $150 itself. Just my two cents, overall staff was super friendly and they even let me take home some free goodies! ❤️

Went in thinking Id be helped. I was worried I was experiencing a teen pregnancy and wanted to get tested to make sure. I came in thinking I had made an appointment (because I did and never got a confirmation text, I guess it never went through) but either way, a quick urine test shouldnt be a big deal to make time for, especially considering I was one of 2 people in the waiting room at the time. The girl took me back into a room, asked me questions without having me sign the HIPAA forms or anything, and then sent me to a different location for an ultrasound without even knowing if I was pregnant or not. I started crying because I felt like I hadnt been listened to, and I was basically shooed out of the office without being helped in the slightest. Most of these bad reviews have merit. Please do not go here if you want proper womens healthcare from people wholl at least pretend to care.

I highly recommend this location. the staff were very attentive and listened to my concerns. they were very informative and answered all my questions. they made me feel super comfortable!

They’re always behind on appointments. One time I went I was there 2 hours, just to get a shot in my arm, that ended up not happening because I was “too early” even though I called twice to confirm prior and was given the OK. Last time I was there, I was there for over an hour and a half. Just for a shot in my arm. Typically an appointment like that is just 15 minutes. Before Covid, Depo shots used to be walk in because that’s how fast/short the appointments are. Not anymore.I only go to this clinic because it’s close. I’m convinced that everyone else goes there for the same reason because it’s definitely not because the clinic is in any means actually good. As shown by the three stars this clinic has been rated overall.If you’re looking to spend a good chunk of your day in a waiting room getting your time wasted, feel free to book an appointment. But I think next time I could sooner drive to a clinic an hour away and still be done before this clinic would even see me. Unfortunately, several people in that waiting room had been waiting for at LEAST an hour, for I don’t know what, but personally I don’t think there’s any good reason to still not even be SEEN well over an hour past your booked appointment time. This has been the norm the past several times I’ve been. People waiting for an hour+ to be seen past their scheduled appointment time.They also have terrible record keeping. I was told three times I was on time for the Depo shot when I called several times prior. What happens when I get there? They tell me I’m late. I wasn’t late. It’s just nobody there can do their jobs properly.I think it’s important to place your health in capable hands and personally, in my experience, there are none here. I’ve given the clinic several chances. More than what I’ve spoken of here. Some of it downright medical negligence liable of being sued for, if only I had recorded the visit. I think you’re gambling your health whenever you come here. But some people don’t have a choice. I hope my unbiased and thorough review can help someone find the right care that they really need.

My experience today at the clinic was not at all consistent with the negative reviews Im reading here. Staff was very courteous and professional. I had made an appointment beforehand and was called in from the waiting area on time. Honestly, my visit today reminded me of how fortunate communities are to have Planned Parenthood health centers that can serve people from all walks of life and socioeconomic demographics.

I made an appointment here due to having a suspected ovarian cyst. The girl who answered the phone was extremely rude. Their website clearly states they can handle/check for ovarian cysts but she told me they cant then hung up on me WHILE I WAS STILL TALKING before I could even cancel my appointment

Most unprofessional office I have ever been to. I have been to several other Planned Parenthoods in the DFW area and this is the only one I have ever had problems with. The people talk to you as if you are a child and constantly talk over and interrupt you even after asking a question. For medical professionals, the energy they give off is more of people who take pleasure in inconveniencing patients as much as possible and downplaying any concerns while simultaneously providing snarky, unasked for opinions. I will never visit this office again and strongly discourage all from considering visiting. Go to literally any other location.

I have been a patient here since 2018 for transgender care. While they are pretty easy to get hormones with, they are AWFUL about scheduling and answering the phone. I have been out of my testosterone for about two months now. I have been calling over and over (during business hours) and they just today answered my phone call. After the rude scheduler told me that they were booked for the rest of the month and to call back later, I asked if there is a specific time when I should call because they never answer my calls. Miss Rude cut me off and said there is no reason why they wouldnt answer as they are fully staffed and they allegedly always answer. They are also awful about authorizing refills. They want continuous office visits after their nurse practitioner has said multiple times I should only need routine blood work twice a year in office. So only two visits right? Wrong. I have had to go in multiple times because their team has no idea how to read a chart or go BY THE PROVIDERS ORDERS. I have my pharmacy reach out and request authorization for refills and they seem to just ignore the pharmacy. To summarize, their scheduling team SUCKS and they delay my prescriptions. Unprofessional, dingy, dirty, rude, and their main interest is making money.

The nurses and front desk staff were extremely friendly and professional to me on every one of my visits. It was clear they were busy, but patience is a virtue, and simply waiting a few minutes was enough to get their attention whenever I needed it. They made a mistake with my lab work and had to draw a second time, and the nurse made sure I didnt have to pay for the second appointment because it was their error. They were very understanding and knowledgable about the services they offer and the communities those services are aimed towards.

Horrific!!! The front desk employees are extremely rude and not knowledgeable. Not sure if anyone here has any medical experience, as these women are not “nurses”. They forgot to fill my prescription and then when I called they stated I needed to book another appointment for an extra $200.00, which I was assured I wouldn’t need to do, to receive my prescription? Don’t say one thing and then go back on it. I’ve never left a review before, but felt it was necessary. Take your valid health concerns anywhere but here where they have compassion and real doctors.

Horrible center. My gf was scared to go in by themselves and they refused to let me in as emotional support for her. It says on their own website that significant others can come in if the doctor is okay with it. They just were straight up rude and said I had to wait in my car, not even allowed to wait in the waiting room. Go to any other location if you can.

Extremely rude. Providers are kind and knowledgeable, but their front desk is so unprofessional and belittling. As somewhere that prides themselves on caring for women in a state where we have little to no support, do better.

Myla is just flat out rude and the entire energy of the office is off. Women’s care clinics should be loving and welcoming being that they have no idea why you are there. However once you get to the Ciara your in good hands she’s so kind so compassionate so loving and makes you feel cared for!

The people here are kind and helpful but that’s really it. I’ve been getting testosterone here as a trans person for about a year but i’ve finally had enough. There is a serious lack of communication going on. No one ever reaches out. Also some have mentioned they schedule an appointment only for the clinic to be closed. this has happened to me multiple times and the only warning you get is a single phone call. if you miss the phone call oh well. Emails exist yall. Going thru the trouble of trying to schedule appointments when no one in the office knows availability, not getting updates about your visits, not getting prescriptions refilled or communicated about, cancelled appointments, etc. has all led me to just try somewhere else because it’s just not worth it here.

My experience at this Planned Parenthood was excellent! From scheduling to the appointment itself, 5/5. The staff is thorough, genuine, and knowledgeable!

I wanted to write a review because I have been to this location two times and I never had any of the problems some of the other reviewers had. The reception and nurse were very nice and the doctor that I saw was kind, knowledgeable, and listened to my concerns. The longest wait I had here was about 10 minutes and the other time I was seen immediately. I highly recommend this location.

I am a guy. My only experience with this establishment was last Tuesday afternoon when I hastily exited Central Expressway with a very flat tire and pulled into the nearest parking space I could find.It was boiling hot as I went about changing my tire. Like a mirage, an angel from the PP office appeared, offering me two cups of cold, delicious water.It had already been a tough day. The flat tire was salt in the wound. This unexpected kindness from a stranger came at a critical moment and made a lasting impression.Thank you very much.

You get what you pay for. All they can offer you is birth control pills. Thats always their default solution. I had some tests done, I had to call for the results, and when they did they treated me like it was a burden to do so. Then they tried to bill be almost $100. I only went there because I had no insurance. You would be better off just saving your money and going to a quality doctor.

Maybe the staff had an off day or a busy one, everyone has them, but my experience was a disheartening one at this location, especially since I chose P.P. over a general clinic b/c I liked what P.P. stands for. Upon arrival my personal concerns were dismissed rather quickly and I felt I was being talked over instead of listened to. I was looking for female support and received bare minimum. On top of it all, I was prescribed a birth control without explanation on which brand I would be getting. I sadly paid my bill and left.I do not recommend this location. 1 star is for being cost effective.

Ive visited this location twice for an infection and both times they were unable to accurately diagnose me. Im a college student with limited finances and figured itd be cheaper to visit PP instead of a gynecologist as i dont have insurance. My first visit, i received good customer service at this clinic, although the nurse only took a swab test when i paid for a full exam. She diagnosed me with cervicitis and sent me home with an antibiotic. I take the medicine and follow the instructions but my symptoms never went away. Then when i visited again, i was told my re-checkup would cost $120 but this time we also did std testing (which came back negative), so i ended up paying around $230. The nurse didnt examine me due to covid precautions and i was in my car for a majority of the visit, and she retained her original diagnosis and gave me another antibiotic for a week. Well its been 2 weeks since i finished my medication and my symptoms are the same. I later check online and the medicines given to me are generally for STDs, which made me more confused as i never had STDs. Also, the customer service was lacking in quality the second time and the medical assistant who asked me questions before the nurse was condescending and wasnt listening to my concerns. In the end, i ended up paying a little over $400 for my 2 visits here and am still experiencing symptoms. If you need accurate diagnosis and treatment, dont be like me and go to a gynecologist, which i should have done from the get go and not wasted my money here and taken unnecessary antibiotics.

I went in to be taught how to take at home injections for hrt for my 1 year check up, but my home location (Denton) couldnt fit me in soon enough so I was told Plano had the earliest time I could come in. When I went to my appointment to have everything done they said they had no idea that i was coming in to learn how to do injections even though that was the whole reason I wanted to do it so soon. I had previously mentioned this to the Denton location, but apparently the communication was very poor, and they said nothing as if it was a routine visit and nothing more. After telling the Plano location this they told me I would need to make another appointment, for more money of course, because of their mistakes. This is not the first time something like this has happened and things are much worse now because of covid. They charge you 115 dollars for a 5 minute video conference where they ask you if all your chart info is the same and then they tell you to go to a third party blood drawing location, and you have to pay for that separately. Planned parenthood has found another way to gatekeep transgender healthcare services at an inflated cost because they pretty much have a monopoly on informed consent patients. at this point if you are someone who plans on doing hrt over a long period of time I would recommend just doing it the hard way and going through a doctor that might require a therapist note because at least the service would be more personalized and consistent.

Did not allow someone back with the patients even if they were wanted. Also made non-patients wait in their car when the lobby was completely empty even when the patient was getting a procedure done that requires someone to drive them home. They also didnt bother telling me themselves and instead had the patient come tell me.

I called twice, the first time was to schedule an appointment for a womens wellness exam. The lady on the phone was very nice and polite and she to all my information quickly and it was a smooth process but then at the very end I was told I could not bring my 16 month old with me to the office because they do not allow chikdren in the back, this was weird for me since some of their other offices Ive been and on the websites it says you can but I think there is an age limit. Anyways I said ok Ill try and find a sitter and if not I will call back and cancel.I called back to cancel my appointment tent as for I had no choice but to do so since children are not allowed . But the lady on the phone was terribly ride, Gisele I think was her name ...she was horibly rude and extremely unprofessional and I could hear the staff in the background laughing so loud I could barely hear myself speak . Any ways I called and the first thing I said was I called earlier and my name is --------- I need to cancel my appointment or reschedule for the weekend if available. She then took all of my information again as if I was calling for the first time again and then when she looked my name uo she says oh you already have an appointment and I said yes but I wanted to cancel or reschedule if you dont have a weekend option and she says with an attitude you shouldve just said that, I just type all of this in. So then I said I did tell you in the beginning of the conversation and she got angry and started saying no you didnt! No you didnt ! With very unprofessional manners and bad attitude. Honestly I wanted to be very unpleasant myself but I just told her to go ahead and cancel all of my appointments as I would never ever go there . And I hung up.I do not recommend this place, simply because of the front desk and phine receptionist , horrible phone etiquette.Oh and when I asked for the wellness exam which includes the breast exam and pelvic and pap she said are you experiencing pain and I was and she then continued for over 5 minutes trying to argue with me that I dont need a pap or pelvic just a breast exam.....and when I said put me down for all three she said do you not get me you only need the breast exam .Yea ok Im pretty sire she isnt a doctor.Lousy at her job that is for sure.Couldve had my money, plus I am in alot of pain and for you to be so rude to a potential patient is crazy.Good luck all who dare go here

As a man and parent of a teenage daughter, I am happy this place exists. Ive seen reviews of people upset with protocol, so they give one star, rules and regulations are for YOUR safety. After volunteering at Planned Parenthood I can say that these people put their lives on the line, everyday. Do not get upset because of the rules, they only allow the patient to be in the exam room; no friends or family etc. For damn good reason.

I gave my sister the wrong address and she went to a different planned parenthood, but I showed up here. I explained the situation, my sister was going out of the country! I asked them to please wait 15 mins which would mean shes 20 mins late to her appointment. I understand there are other patients but I had her paperwork already done. She showed up and they said they couldnt take her. Her appointment was at 3:40 and she showed up at 3:58. They had no remorse. Ladies health is not their number one priority here

My daughter and I came for consult and had the best customer service with these ladies. The lady we consulted with was so sweet, understanding, very personable and compassionate. I highly recommend, even if you just have questions and need someone to talk too.

Absolutely horrible service!!! If you want to be embarrassed, humiliated and not listened to, I highly recommend that you do not go here. Especially when I scrounged up all my little money because I do not have for them to be so completely impersonal. What a shame that the women (employees) would treat another women that way. I walked out and well be going to a actual Dr office

Honestly the most impersonal medical care I’ve ever received. I went in to get a pregnancy test and she took it upon herself to start the conversation off by saying “we’re you looking forward to pregnancy?” And then she delivered the results. I then got a very insincere “I’m sorry” as I sat in my chair and cried. All she could tell me when I asked questions was “I’m not sure” or “I don’t know” by far the worst planned parenthood I’ve been to. I thought the people who work in these clinics were supposed to have more of a passion for helping women in tough situations and a willingness to be helpful. Definitely not the case at this location.

I had an appointment at 5pm at Plano because is the only hour I can go because of work, and they canceled my appointment because I was the last one on the day and they wanted to close early! This is so wrong

Absolutely the worst clinic Ive ever had the displeasure of dealing with. The staff are inconsiderate liars who are just looking to do the bare minimum to not get fired. Dont waist your time. Go ANYWHERE else.

First time at the clinic was today. I arrived early so I had to wait a bit but was still seen before my appointment time. It was quick and easy for someone who just needs bc. Highly satisfied.

Great staff—I’d bet most of these negative reviews are from whack jobs. All the staff were incredibly friendly. I liked the staff here more than my obgyns office.

Honestly I was going to go without reading this reviews and again I’m just going to say that even throughout the phone their sooo rude and they made it super uncomfortable for me to even come in after booking my appointment , I work in a clinic and it being as busy and a bad day as it can be I still manage to answer all questions and concerns with a good attitude, this ladies sound like they don’t even like their job yet their getting paid for it. Where in the world they do that at?

Ive sat here an hour waiting on my name to be called. I have PPO insurance Im sure I cant get to a doctor who cares about others time. I asked the lady at the front how much longer it would be. She replied and said well theres 3 people in front of you. This is not acceptable treatment for people who schedule appointments!!!!

They charged me $40 for a pregnancy test and the front office lady Mila said it was for my office visit that i didnt have? i asked about financial services and she said there arent any offered. I was also told by Mila that the charge was for a visit i had with a provider (which didnt happen). When i asked for the name of the provider she stated that girl.

Made an appointment here for today just for the clinic to be closed when I arrived. Next time send a text or at least call so someone doesn’t have to waste their time driving 40 minutes to get there.

(1 star reviews might have a lot of biased info btw just sayin) Planned parenthood is absolutely great- kind nurses, quick service, accepting and welcoming atmosphere, and quality care. PLUS a lot already (or are about to start) offer trans health services like HRT and stuff

Ive been trying to get an appointment so I can get a refill on my meds with them for about two months now, every time I schedule they cancel on me an hour before the appointment, which is a pain because I have to drive about two hours out just to get there in the first place. The center looks clean and great but Im beyond disappointed with this place.

See the photos that I have posted about this place, for evidence. The front office receptionist wanted me to wait outside even though there was a lot of empty space in the waiting room. In fact there was nobody in the waiting room when she asked me to wait outside. This was the worst treatment from any doctors office, in my whole life.

My experience with the center was very positive. Staff were helpful and professional. They responded to all my concerns. I was called in on time.

Staff is extremely rude, had a visit last month for birth control, prescription was supposed to have 12 refils, they made a mistake and only gave me 1, called to get this fixed and the lady showed frustration and was extremely rude. Called back to make a complain and they just left me there hanging at the phone pretending they are busy.

They do not take UnitedHealthcare insurance even though its listed as a choice on the website. Driving 20 minutes in rush hour isnt worth it. Go to a different one.

Very kind and knowledgeable receptionist. Clinic offers a variety of screening services to prevent disease and illness in women at a low cost.

The nurse seemed irritated when I walked in. Wasnt concerned about my situation or helpful in any way. I was very uncomfortable the entire time

It been great time before and now just getti g worse today i had an appointment today at 2:30 i called before two day to get a sooner schedule same day but earlier time they said they got me down for same day at 11:20 am so went today they said cannot take you in wasted my time not great customer service.

Did not tell me they were going to bill me for a test that I did not ask for and did not correct it when called. Very hard to contact during business hours

They overcharged me for testing that was supposed to be preventive care under insurance. They rip you off . Bill of 598$
