AFC Urgent Care Raleigh-Brier Creek

I have never had such a great experience like this at any urgent care. From the ease of making the appointment, checking in and wait time was very little. The PA/RN was so attentive, listened and was very thorough, he really knew his stuff. They even gave me samples on the way out and called to check up on me a few days later. Highly recommend.

I called AFC in the morning and booked an appointment for the afternoon. Once I arrived, I checked in and there was just one person ahead of me. I was in and out pretty quick. Everyone from the front desk receptionist to the PA were friendly, helpful and compassionate. I have only used a couple urgent cares but I would for sure revisit this one!

This is my second time visiting this location. The first time had a different front desk associate and intake nurse. But Both times the staff were friendly and attentive. I had the same Doctor for both visits Dr. T. Desronvil. On each visit, I felt she was patient and concerned about my overall health. I did not feel rushed and she gave me her opinion on what I should do. She listened and answered all my questions and I felt very well heard. This will be the location for any of my urgent care needs. And If my PCP provider ever retires then Dr. T will become my new PCP.

The facility is sparkling clean and well ventilated (important in the Covid era) and the caregivers were very patient-focused even while buried in walk-ins at the end of a long shift. I was very pleased with the care. Strongly recommended.

Very quick service. Everyone (reception, tech, PA) were helpful, quick and friendly. I’d come back for sure.

I had a very positive experience. I searched around several places who would take my Medicaid insurance, and this urgent care was one of the few. I got in an out in under an hour - as a walk in! The receptionist was caring and attentive. I was seen by PA Zach, who respectfully listened to my concerns and took my feelings and thoughts into consideration. I have been to other medical offices where you are just thrown medication or you feel as though the care provider is not taking into account your actual experience, but that was not the case here. Thank you for taking care of me.

Apart from the facility I based my rating upon the staff! Thought the facility looks new and very clean!As a new patient it was a quick process from check in to the actual consultation with the provider!You will need a mask!It is a somehow small waiting room so may want to check on that

This place is amazing! Upon completing registration in parking lot in my vehicle and running late, Alexis called to confirm appointment and verify that I was at the correct location. She is very knowledgeable with insurance procedures. Didnt even feel the blood draw with Tyshauna and Zack Buchan was very thorough. All in all this place was very professional, prompt, polite, caring, and punctual. They addressed all my questions and concerns. This demonstrates great teamwork and they provide beyond excellence in service. Extremely fast as well, being that I was leaving within 45 minutes or less. If I could give them 10 Stars I would. This is the way a business is supposed to run, Smooth and effortlessly. Great job!! I will be back and definitely recommend afc.

As a recent implant to RDU, I’ve been searching for a PCP for a few years and unfortunately haven’t been impressed with the bedside manner or lack of empathy I’ve received in NC. I’ve been dealing with a chronic pain issue and TODAY I FINALLY received an answer from the team on medical professionals at AFC. There is a warmth in this building from staff that I’ve never experienced, and it was SO welcoming. I had an opportunity to interact with Alexis at the desk, Lipi for my intake and procedures, and Dr. Theodora for my appointment. I can’t say enough how grateful I am for the care they bestowed upon me. Professional, empathetic, QUICK, and personable describes each of these ladies and it was my pleasure to be a patient. I am looking forward to making this my PCP and recommend that anyone who is looking for a dedicated medical team follow suit! Thank you ladies, for a wonderful appointment and also for all you do to help people in this community feel safe and heard. You are appreciated.

This is the best urgent care I have been to hands down! I walked in and was seen by a provider within 40 mins! The front staff was very friendly and nice. The provider was very nice and he listened to my concerns and answered all of my questions. I am going to recommend this place to all of my friends and family.

Avoid this place at all costs. You will meet with a nurse practitioner and not a doctor. They got my diagnosis wrong and charged me $50 for copay and charged my card a month later for $100 because they filed my insurance wrong. I went to a specialist and they fixed my issue all for $10. I am out $150 with this place for my issue not to be fixed. They went back and charged my card. Once you pay them anything they will keep your card on file. I think they don’t want to fix the problem so you can pay another copay to come back. Don’t fall for it.

I can highly recommend it as an Urgent Care.If you dont know what your insurance coverage is, you should probably find out before you arrive. I had no issue with paying a $150 co-pay (havent met my deductible yet) for EXCELLENT care.

The staff are so friendly! Dr Patidar was very knowledgeable, Katrina was very helpful and caring, and Alexis was very kind. I’m from Oklahoma, visiting family. This is the best urgent care facility I’ve ever been to.

Five star experience I had. The front desk receptionist was awesome, helpful and friendly. The Doctor who took care of me was easy to talk to and he took the time to explain everything, he genuinely cared. When I need urgent medical care, this is my first and only choice to go get checked out. It’s nice to see they offer other services as well.

Did not have a good experience, AT ALL. Had to pay a $75 co-pay to be treated (which is fine) but while there, physician J.P. 1. Told me that it was hard to help me because of my dark skin (didn’t even try honestly), 2. Wrote me a doctors note to give to work/school & almost violated HIPPA laws by indicating the reasoning why I was being seen on the paper, all while spelling my name incorrectly and putting “Tyler” on my form, when my name is clearly at the top of the paper. I had to request a new document be given to me. & I had to request that they actually do something to help me, considering that I spent a $75 co-pay to be seen. There was definitely a racial undertone in the service I received. Mr. Pawela didn’t even appear to care to fix the problem, and the problem still isn’t fixed. Will be reporting this to higher ups.Edited: 02/03/2024 Dr. Pat called me today to apologize for the mistreatment from physician J.P. at Urgent Care and also worked to ensure that I was helped. Dr. Pat was extremely helpful and I appreciate his care and concern for how patients receive help under his care and supervision.Changing rating from a 1 to a 3. Had I met with Dr. Pat first, the rating would have been a 5. However, first impressions matter.

Phenomenal customer service from staff; providers were exceptional and compassionate. I went from feeling extremely stressed out to feeling confident and relaxed. Highly recommend this urgent care for anyone in need of quality care!

I moved here in December and have had to take my family to Urgent Care numerous times for different things. I had the privilege of meeting Lipi and Miss Theodora. I was brand new to the area and had my Daughter who was 18 months old. My phone was dying and I was very nervous about not being able to find my way home. I did not bring a charger with me. These wonderful ladies charged my phone for me and interacted with my daughter. She normally does not like going to the doctor. But when we come in now she smiles at Lipi. This is not the closest Urgent Care to my house but I make the drive to only go there. Everyone is so professional, no appointment needed. Today I set an appointment to make this my primary health care provider. I can not recommend this place enough.

The place is clean and the doctor was nice, but dont bother reserving a spot online, theyre just going to put you at the end of the queue whenever you arrive. I reserved a spot hours in advance and was told my time was 5:36pm, arrived before that time, but then wasnt seen until just after 7pm, after everyone else who was there when I arrived, even those who had not reserved a spot.

I was going for a simple drug test. I arrived on Saturday morning around 10am. I was told they didn’t have anyone that could run the rest. I clarified “there is only one person that can do this”? She stated. yea, one nurse and she won’t be back until Tuesday. I called before I arrived on Tuesday to ensure someone was available. It’s been 45 min and I’m still waiting TO LEAVE A URINE SAMPLE.

AFC Urgent is amazing! I really enjoyed my time there! They have amazing care and staff that really cares about your well being! They are dedicated to their patients. I highly recommend!!!

My urgent care experience was so calm and helpful. I had a toe injury and they were able to get me in, ex-ray and help it, and get me out. I’m confident my healing will be fine from here on out. I was so pleased with the front desk staff! They were so helpful. The MA really did a good job while taking my vitals and was so friendly. I couldn’t be more happier with the services I received from the PA. I went in due to having flu symptoms and the PA did all the lab results and provided me with the proper instructions so I can get well again. Will definitely go back again and recommend this place to my friends. Thank you!

Visited AFC Urgent Care on 4/20/23 and was so completely impressed! Front Desk Receptionists were so professional, friendly, assistive and welcoming. Short wait to be seen by a Doctor and I was truly impressed by how all was handled. Immediate care, answers to all my questions and a rapid determination for treatment. CANNOT RECOMMEND MORE HIGHLY!!!

I would give the a higher rating but they messed up my insurance. I made it clear I was not on medicare but they questioned if I had two insurances leaving me to spend a 1/2 hr on the phone straightening out the message with the two separate bills.

Excellent care - quick and efficient! I injured myself at 11 AM, had to wait for childcare, but managed to make it to AFC by 12:15. I checked in, received the care I needed (multiple stitches on 2 different fingers), and was out before 2. The doctor walked me through every step of the process, from cleaning and numbing to mapping out how many stitches I needed and where. Truly fantastic service, and I will be returning in the future for any urgent needs!

Alexis at the front desk has always been lovely and helpful. Always had a positive experience here.Dr Patidar was patient and communicative with me about what was going on, honestly some of the best care Ive received.

My husband had hurt himself and needed immediate attention, I called around and AFC Brier Creek took us in right away! There was no wait time, the service is fast and effective, the staff are so polite and professional, and most importantly the Doctor knew what he was doing! I will definitely be coming back to this location! Absolutely loved this place all around!

The best Urgent Care I have ever been to. Their friendly, professional staff got me in quickly on the Holiday weekend and communicated very well! Great Doctor, X-Ray machine, Super clean, Efficient. Interesting services. I went to the urgent care after reading all the positive reviews but I was so disappointed. They have very unprofessional staff and doctors. As a minority women when I walked in the front desk lady asked me “where are you from?” Lol, that’s ridiculous. Then the doctor asked about my previous prescriptions, which made me feel he was unsure about how to write his own prescription. Finally, I never got my culture reports. Overall very bad services.

My wife came for stitches. Service was friendly and efficient

Very disappointing in our visit here. They did a concussion screen sheet but didn’t know what the total numbers meant. Refused to do an Xray and told us to come back 2 days later if still in pain. Why would I come back and pay another copay when I’m here now after waiting hours to be seen?? Turns out they didn’t have an Xray tech…but after complaining, the front receptionist ended up doing the Xray for us. I do not feel confident in the care received or the long wait to get it and would definitely not return.

The visit was great considering. Check in was quick without hassle. The patient registration was professional, kind and knowledgeable. Once registered I sat for a couple of minutes before being called to the back. The lobby was very clean and comfortable. The nurse was pleasant and attended to my needs and my discharge was fast. I would definitely visit again if needed.

DO NOT GO HERE!! I have terrific BCBS insurance, and have met both my deductible and max out of pocket. But, even if none of that was true, I have a 10% coinsurance for urgent care. They required $150 to even see me, saying if my insurance paid it, Id get the money back in 5 to 6 weeks. Was I supposed to asune that the total cost of my visit would be $1,500?! Bottom line: this place cares more about money than peoples health!

I came here to get some blood drawn for tests and I am NOT an easy patient at all. I have a very bad fear of needles and am a baby and to make it more difficult, don’t have great veins. BUT the nurses in the back were so kind. The first nurse was patient even when I jerked away. When she grabbed the second nurse, lipi.. she was so sweet. She was soooo good I really didn’t feel a single thing. I can’t express how nice the nurses were. I’m thankful they didn’t give up on me even though I sure would’ve. Thank you for being great 🧡

Everyone there is SUPER friendly, from the secretary to the nurses to the doctor. Im always nervous in a clinical setting, but they did their best to put me at ease! I did not have to wait long, even though they were busy. I highly recommend this AFC clinic.

Ive never gone to a better urgent care than this one. It is the fastest Ive ever been seen anywhere. The care is excellent, and the staff is incredibly welcoming, accommodating, and knowledgeable. You wont receive the top-notch medical attention you need if you visit any other facility!

Ended up at AFC for what was more of a primary care issue- but one that I considered to be a bit urgent. I googled “urgent and primary care” together and found AFC in Brier Creek. I entered the line/queue online, filled out the pre-appointment paperwork, and was surprisingly welcomed back prior to the expected time. The care was exceptional. As a woman, I’ve often felt dismissed or ignored when I express my medical concerns but at this visit I was heard. I’ve lived in Raleigh for well over a decade now and have had my fair share of medical visits- urgent, emergency, and routine. But I’ve never had everything from my initial triage and medical interview to exam taken by the same doctor. Thank you so much, Dr. Patidar!!! The woman at the front desk was wonderful too. It’s great to be greeted by a warm smile when you’re nervous and/or not feeling great. A million thanks. Our family of six will be using AFC whenever the need arises.

Everywhere was booked for urgent care needs for my 5 year old son. Went online and booked an appointment with AFC. We were in and out in 1 hour. The staff was excellent and exceeded all of my expectations. I definitely will be returning in the future!

What a pleasant experience. I am from out of town and would definitely recommend this urgent care to anyone who is in need of medical attention while visiting the Raleigh area. The staff is very friendly and are willing to take the time to answer all of your questions.

The doctor was super nice, the staff was also very nice, short waiting time (I was there on a Sunday for reference) just overall really nice location!!

Co-pay is upfront and know they cannot diagnose anything that has appendicitis like symptoms - they will take your copay, make you wait and then tell you to go to ER. If you have a child experiencing appendicitis like symptoms, take them to the pediatric ER.My son was having pain in his right side and we went to AFC Urgent Care. We waited for 30 minutes and were seen by someone at AFC Urgent Care, not sure if she was a Dr or PA or nurse - she asked about symptoms. She barely pushed on his right side no gloves and announced that they were unable to go further as they didnt have a CT machine and she was required to refer us to the ER. After waiting at the ER for 4 hours, he had a CT scan and were referred to the pediatric ER. The bills of all these visits are piling up.I called AFC with this suggestion: Anyone at AFC could have explained at reception that they could not diagnose ANY appendicitis like symptoms and we could have saved $100 on our copay. They said a medical professional has to do that - so wanted everyone else to be aware of this highway robbery.

Both receptionist were very helpful and im greatful there are people like them to assist veterans like myself. The Nurse was amazing and very friendly, Doctor listened to my symptoms and didnt interrupt or anything 5/5.

Arrived at 7:20pm as it says it is opened until 8pm and was not able to be seen because “the doctor was behind on documentation.” So documenting is more important than assessing a sick patient at this urgent care.

I can’t say enough about the level of professionalism with your staff. Melissa Szlvey, Lindsey Jamie, Tammy, and Greg. The care, attentiveness, kindness, care, empathy. I appreciate that so much. There is a deposit of $150 required which is odd. I’ve only ever had to pay my deductible at urgent care facilities. Months later I still have not received the deposit back as my insurance covers the entire visit. I’ve called and have been told the billing department is understaffed. Absolutely ridiculous. Unprofessional and rude front desk staff both in person and over the phone.

Took my son for suspected ear infection on Sunday morning. Everyone from front staff to the PA were kind, welcoming, and patient.The facility is very clean. The designated parking spots out front are helpful! Online check in and reserving a space in line is an added bonus.

Nice service and the doctor is very helpful

A man called with test results, but asked me to provide PII, which is typically a sign of a phishing attempt. I provided some info, but refused others because it was more sensitive. He got indignant, when I explained I was uncomfortable providing that information since he called me, which is another sign youre speaking to a scammer. When I tried to ask if I could call him back to verify the caller id wasnt spoofed, he started telling me I could come down to the clinic and as I was responding he hung up on me, another sign it was a scam.I called back to find out if it was legit and it was, but information security practices need to be appropriate and this organization or, at least, this individual failed. He had a verified phone # that he dialed. It was my responsibility to verify him, not the other way around.Hopefully, they fix their issues.Other than this terrible interaction, the care provided during my visits is acceptable enough for me to go back in a pinch.

Had a great experience today at AFC Urgent Care in Briar Creek. On a Sunday late afternoon, I got in and out within an hour or so. Very professional staff and the facility was immaculate!

Traveling on orders out of country. Had to get a rt pcr test QUICK. I called in. They squeezed me in. Rushed over from the airport. Newly constructed urgent care facility with friendly staff and knowledgeable physicians and nurses. All the equity is brand new and state of the art and the team here took great care of me. Highly recommend for any of your urgent care needs.

Front desk clerk said i havent met my deductible, even showed the front desk clerk my insurance on my phone. Their system showed something else and its clearly wrong but the front desk clerk refused to help and required a $150 up front payment. Which Is also one of the highest up front payment urgent cares in the state. Terrible service and clearly poor developed software.

Fantastic clinic. Best in the area, by far. The staff are top shelf. The doc was kind, soft spoken, and took the time to listen to all of my concerns. I’ve never experienced a medical clinic like this one before.

I didn’t feel safe at this location as a young Black woman. I chose this location because of the great reviews I read about it and when I arrived it was very clean, but I IMMEDIATELY got my first red flag when I went to present my insurance. It’s an out of state Blue Cross Blue Shield policy called Florida Blue, and mind you, it CLEARLY states “Blue Cross Blue Shield” directly on the front of the card. I showed the lady at the front desk my card for insurance verification and she immediately started shaking her head no and saying “This is Medicaid, we don’t accept that because it’s out of state”. I was already sick and a little bit out of it and I don’t even know that much about insurance lol so I was about to just accept it and walk away until I realized that it literally isn’t. Lol. I’m insured under my father who is a doctor so he gets the best policies available. I was racially profiled and denied service upfront because I was a young Black woman, so she saw what she was trained to assume was Medicaid didn’t even ask any further questions because she had profiled me from the jump. If I had been a white man in a suit I guarantee she would’ve been confused and looked harder to at least READ the clear statement “Blue Cross Blue Shield” lmaoooo. I had to thoroughly explain to her about 4 times that I did not in fact have Medicaid and if she just used her eyeballs to actually READ the card (didn’t say it like that, lol). I wouldn’t even need to be up here trying to defend my rights to service sick. FINALLY she entered me in without even an apology or anything and I waited. SECOND red flag about this place. When I went to be seen by the doctor I had to do a urine sample and it came back with a little blood in my urine. I asked why that could be because I have a suspicion I may have an ongoing bladder issue, and the doctor said it could be a few reasons, maybe I passed a small kidney stone, maybe I had irregular period or my period is coming on. He asked me if it was and I said no (it was literally 2 weeks away lollll). I’m an extremely healthy person (young and vegan) so I’ve never had kidney issues and I have never had irregular late or early periods so I knew it wasn’t that. I told him that I’m not irregular and my period is not coming and asked what else it could be and he completely ignored what I said saying it was probably because I was irregular………. It wasn’t. I felt totally ignored and condescended, unsafe and unheard, again… the THIRD and BIGGEST red flag was when I contacted the manager to report the first issue with my insurance card. She was IMMEDIATELY on the defensive and gave no apology at all saying that she’s “Sure that wasn’t the case” when I told her about the profiling and literally said “Well you were seen weren’t you”. I actually had to explain that the issue was not whether I was seen or not, it’s that I had to fight just to preserve my right TO be seen. Black women are already on edge and vulnerable in medical facilities because of being constantly ignored, misdiagnosed, stereotyped, unintentionally or intentionally harmed, denied service, misinformed and even killed due to engrained racism in American medical practices. As I was that day. The manager’s last ditch attempt at justifying this behavior and saving her own reputation was to say, and I’m not even kidding “Well the worker you spoke to was Brown wasn’t she?” The worker I spoke to was a white skinned woman with all the privilege of passing as white if she were not lol. I said “No, she wasn’t” the manager said “Well I know her and I know for a fact she is”……………… I was almost too stunned to speak. I then had to literally explain to this woman how even if she was “Brown”, racism can still exist between Brown and Black people… She angrily and begrudgingly said she would speak to the woman, but I know more than likely she has not. Long story short, I will never be going to this establishment again, and if you are Black I definitely recommend not coming to this facility, but if you do HAVE to, take extreme caution and just be aware…

Not a good experience. Called ahead and told staff this may be something contagious. No protocol given to address this. Collected pay and then the doctor told the patient to go to the ER imstead but did not want to reimburse the payment even though he had no idea how to treat. Then tested for something highly unlikely, without symptoms instead of testing for a general staph infection. The saving grace was he did administer an antibiotic and prescribed one as well. Most eggregiois was saying he didnt know what it was and then jumping to conclusions about what it was. If I didnt know anything about medicine, he would have left my husband in a sheer panic with zero guidance.

The nurse and the doctor were quick, efficient, and knowledgeable. The demeanor of the doctor is friendly, warm, kind, and assertive. They paid a lot of attention to my health and to my problem.

Professional staff at a conveniently located facility. The medical team was able to take care of my family and I quickly with no hassle. Highly recommend this location for all my urgent medical needs. If I’m ever in the need again, there’s no doubt I will be returning there.

I received outstanding service from Angel, Matt, and Lipi. I definitely would recommend it. I came in to get a rapid covid test for international travel and they made it very easy for me to get the test done and get out. They explained everything dealing with insurance and covid tests very thoroughly and they provided great advice to make my process flow smoothly. They made sure I completely understood all the details they were telling me and that I didnt have any confusion. I will definitely be back.

This place is was a life saver on my trip to Raleigh last weekend! I skipped a step and fell on my side and I thought I cracked a rib. So, I came here and they were able to get an x-ray on my ribs and verify it was just bruised up and no cracked ribs. I was in and out under an hour! I would use this place over any ER in the area!

My family was taking a trip out of the country during one weekend when snow hit Raleigh and everything was closed. We had to get a COVID test 24 hrs before our flight left on Sunday, and we had three different appointments get cancelled due to the weather. I called the airport to inquire about a back-up plan in the event we could not get our COVID test. I was informed by the airport that the couple who owns AFC in Brier Creek would be opening today so that travelers could get the required COVID testing before departure. We showed up at the time they were supposed to open. We were greeted by this lovely couple who opened the doors for us as well as some other customers who desperately needed COVID tests to get on their flights. The rest of their staff had called out for the day due to weather, but they braved the snow and opened their clinic for a few hours anyway. They went above and beyond to take care of us and all the other customers who walked into their doors on this snowy day. If it were not for them, we would have missed our flight and much needed vacation with our family. I cant thank them enough. I work in healthcare and I was impressed by their professionalism, compassion, and commitment to their customers. I highly recommend this clinic!!

Walked in and the prompter said no wait as there was no one there. Took over an hour to see the doctor. Have no idea what they were doing. The nurse wasn’t wearing a mask despite everyone else being required to. Doctor seemed to be irritated to be there.

So easy to schedule online, lots of appointment time options, short wait and seen quickly once I was brought back.

I love this place that greet me with a smile and my first name they know me when I walk in the door the care and service is always a job well done I would recommend them for any family friend so please check them out they are great and give great service they really care about their patients there

Provided proper insurance information was told that insurance is inactive . After brief call with insurance I was told my insurance is active and is good to use and they dont know why I was told inactive . Terrible first time experience would not recommend

This facility is NOT the best place for a Covid test or maybe it was the nurse that performed my test on 12/31 at 2:40pm. Unfortunately, they are unable to reliably determine a result from the specimen which is most likely the result of not having the test done accurately on me. The nurse hardly inserted the q-tip in my nostrils so she barely got a swab of anything. I knew it wasnt performed correctly, but she said she was trained to do the frontal of the nose. Well as a patient and an individual that have had Covid tests before, this test was poorly done by your staff, which is why I had to schedule a second visit elsewhere.

They are liars, don’t waste your time. Drove all the way here and they said you must make an appointment and they were booked for the next two days. It’s fine to require appointments, just stop advertising that it’s not needed when in fact it is. Oh and I got here at 8:45am

Came here to get tested for covid , called and had my name put in line , I arrived 10 minutes early like it said to do still waited for OVER an hour with minimal communication, I don’t mind waiting but to wait for so long without being updated properly was very aggravating and a waste of time , I do not recommend if you are in urgent need .
