Ive been a patient at Lyon Martin Health Services for nearly a decade, seeking medical care as a trans and neurodivergent individual. In the past, Ive greatly appreciated the access to HRT and the supportive staff, particularly my original doctor and a dedicated receptionist who worked there until about 5 years ago. However, Ive noticed significant changes over time. As someone who has struggled with retaining work and healthcare due to my neurodiversity, Ive found that the clinics approach to care has become less accommodating. Unfortunately, I wouldnt recommend Lyon Martin to those without regular therapy or professional support, as the staff seems less knowledgeable about neurodiverse care and may not be equipped to address unique needs. For instance, I recently experienced frustration when seeking a surgical referral for top surgery. Despite assurances that it wouldnt be an issue, the advocates letter ended up being condescending and may not be acceptable to the surgeon. This highlights a concerning lack of understanding about the importance of respecting patients experiences and circumstances.Speaking on a previous review, there is no preference towards AFAB (assigned female at birth) patients, and Ive never had a discussion about implants or transition goals with any provider since my original doctor. The staff and practitioners seem younger and less experienced, which can make it challenging to connect with patients on a meaningful level. While the clinic still provides medical care and blood work management, Ive found that communication has become more impersonal. Nowadays, I need to make multiple calls to get prescriptions filled, but they do offer an online platform that may be more efficient than using receptionists. Overall, while I appreciate the clinics efforts in providing HRT, Im concerned about the changes in approach and quality of care that may not meet the needs of all patients.

I really am grateful for everyone here at Lyon Martin. Theyre always very caring and helpful. Theyve always been quickly responsive of any issues I run into, whether that be insurance or health care accommodations.

One of the men that answer the phone always gives me the worst help whenever I contact the clinic. He always gives such condescending attitude and makes it seem like patients are bothering by asking for help or following up with questions. He makes the clinic such an uncomfortable place to visit or contact. I understand the clinic is understaffed but his nasty attitude makes it so much worse. Its the reason Im transferring clinics.

Kind, patient and caring from reception to exams to blood draws. I have had numerous unpleasant experiences with other medical professionals. At Lyon Martin I always feel, heard, seen and respected.

These people are criminals. They failed to follow up on my mammogram and other tests that were ordered. I cant even make an appointment anymore! They failed to catch ADHD, and treated me like a child. They terminated my therapy sessions without notice and without an alternative. Transmisogyny runs rampant. There is a complete disdain and disregard for people who are not AFAB. There are less HRT options here for trans women also. Youll notice that testosterone implants can be used for AFAB. But there isnt any estrogen options for trans women. Even though that technology exists. So... To trans women every where! Hear me out! We deserve so much better than the at best lip service and at worst make fun of what youre wearing in front of the waiting room crowd. If I had more resources Id take these criminals to the cleaners! So. If youre a trans woman stay FAAARRR away from this place!!! Its not worth the headache. Plus there are better HRT options elsewhere. You dont ned to mess around with people that dont have the slightest idea of what its like to walk in a trans womans shoes. If you tell them they will quite literally laugh in your face!!!

I heart Lyon-Martin so much! They do deal with staffing issues, as it seems like possibly a difficult structure to work within, as many non-profits are :/ The doctors and staff do the utmost best they can with what theyre working with. From time to time I do have to re-train new staff or doctors on my severe health issues. And on important issues I do sometimes need to manage the process somewhat to make sure things dont slip between the cracks. They consistently get me the referrals that I need, and treat me with care and respect and even friendship and I love them.

Services at Lyon Martin have improved 1000x since separating from HR360! I had some very discouraging experiences at LM in late 2021, early 22: it was not the LM I knew from a decade earlier! It was substandard care & I found it frustrating & unacceptable, frankly. Thankfully, this womyns health care clinic chose a better path for their clients by walking away from HR360 (&all of that funding Im sure!) & personally I think it was a courageous & totally patient-centric move on their part, & I applaud them for it!

Ive been going to Lyon-Martin for about 3 years now for HRT, and I desperately wish I could give them a better rating. Unfortunately, they are unorganized, dismissive, and forgetful. They are impossible to contact.Ive been trying for over a month to update my insurance information. Their phone menu has no administrative options (only hours of operation, appointment scheduling, and referrals). I decided to ask the scheduling receptionist for help. I was told they were unable to do ANYTHING other than create or reschedule appointments. They said they would have somebody call me back who was able to update my information. Nobody called me back. This was mid-February.My pharmacy says that a refill request for my Testosterone was denied, which Im assuming was because the insurance they have on file is outdated and invalid. I have tried every way of contacting them, but everything is a dead end. I dont think anybody even checks the email they have on their website.

Update: never rely on their hours on Google. They change their hours frequently. You will end up wasting so much time behind their closed doors.Since health right 360 took over Lyon-martin, the quality of services have plummeted significantly. Also it takes very long to talk to the front desk of the clinic. Most often I have to get connected to billing or pharmacy or substance abuse departments to ask questions about my Lyon-martin appointments, cancellations or any questions. Its a very sad state of affairs for the only clinic for poor trans people in sf bay area. If health right 360 cannot offer reliable services, they should not control lyon martin. They are basically transphobic. Ugh.

I dont know how to succinctly describe everything wrong with the place. Ive been going here for a year and I havent gotten anywhere with some very serious health issues. For one example, after 11 months of asking, I finally got one of the three referrals I had requested. Meanwhile other referrals were made that were simply wrong. The providers are limited to only 5 minutes per patient and most of that time is wasted on trying to remind them what happened in the last appointment.Theyre great about pronouns and trans issues but thats not enough. They need to do better. Getting my pronouns right while Im incapacitated from health problems isnt good trans health care.

I agree with alot of the negative reviews here.I have been suffering from a life threatening gum infection, and their provider nurse(was it an actual doctor I just spoke to?! cos she didnt feel like one to me..) misdiagnosed me several months back. I asked for antibiotics and they wouldnt prescribe me even after I told them it really feels like an infection, had all the symptoms months ago. Now the infection has advanced. I called them today and they told me everything is booked up til next week. Ridiculous! So I actually resorted to paying an online doctor who immediately just prescribed me antibiotics. So far in my experience,Lyon Martin totally unreliable. Youre better off seeing an online doctor or visiting an ER nearby. So far not so happy experience with them, and thinking about it their misdiagnosis could have killed me. When I told them I have high blood pressure too all they did was send me a cheap hbp machine, which caused me to have a panic attack and it broke within weeks. Healthright 360 sucks!!!

I have had extensive health problems since I was a child which my abusive caretaker refused to address as I aged. Once I reached adulthood and was finally able to seek independent healthcare, I found that the majority of doctors available through Medi-cal simply refused to even consider that I would have tbe health problems I spoke of due to my age and not having been previously treated. This is not so with Lyon Martin! Like any clinic that treats patients with poor or nonexistent insurance, they are often hard-pressed for appointments, but they do the best they can with the resources available to them, take the time to listen to your input on your own health conditions, and always do their best to help their patients in whatever way they are able to. They are also wonderful for trans patients; they treat us like human beings! I plan to stay with them for as long as theyll have me. Thank you, Lyon Martin.

Lyon Martin is the only health facility where I have felt safe to discuss all of my health issues. They are kind, supportive, and exceptionally helpful. I have had issues that were either completely ignored or dismissed by doctors in the past, so it is with great relief that I discovered Lyon Martin. Even though I now have health insurance, I continue to go there simply because I know I will be treated like a human being. Thank you!

This is the kindest, generous, diverse, wonderful staff you will ever meet. In a time when I felt no one was on my side and no one could help. They were there and they are kind and thoughtful. This is truly a special place. These reviews that say they are slow, just dont seem to understand what an influence funding has. They have a small staff and they help so many people. I think the very least we can do is be understanding because they are definitely on your side and they definitely are there to help.

Terrible reception. They often play a currently closed phone message during normal business hours, as stated by the message. Their after hours answering service does NOT take messages. If you have an emergency with your hormones, it can be impossible to deal with for several days.I gave two stars because Psyche and JM are good people and do provide good service.Dont bother if you have any choice.

Although all of their materials say they take Medicare, medi-cal, private insurance, and self pay, they do not take any new patients that are not on Medicare or medi-cal. I really badly need medical treatment but I got sent packing because I dont qualify for Medicare or medi-cal. Im scared, Im not getting medical care, and Im having a health crisis, but that matters less than my insurance plan, apparently.

No actual Doctors. No honesty. Worst medical care ever received! They change your practitioner every few months so there is no continuity of care, then use that against you as if its your fault. Its part of a group called Healthright 360. This group is mainly for addiction, so they treat their whole population like this.

Sufficient clinic level care. Youll likely see a nurse practitioner, not a doctor. Care is generalized and not so focused. Theres usually a 20-30 minute wait before appointments. The office staff is always friendly.

These idiots both refused to perform care and refused to refer me to a place that would preform care. They lied to me abjectly about which insurances they covered and then told me after the fact that they are not covered but wont peruse billing. Doubt.jpg. they continue to list themselves as alameda alliance on zocdoc. Liars. To top it off, they tried to fool me into going to another place that wouldnt cover me. Then in the middle of this urgent situation the person handling my case went on vacation WITHOUT WARNING ME AT ALL. They have done nothing but lie and cheat me. Use at your own peril.
