Id give zero if I could. Have been with AHF since 2016 in Columbus, DC, Baltimore and now San Fransisco. I kept with the office in DC for the last year (virtual appts, lw at labcorp and scripts by mail) because SF location told me at the time they had a doctor in office once a month....why even be open then. Finally converted recently so I could start Cabenuva instead of the pill. What a headache and waste of time. My PPO require PA for this script which was received but the clinic tells me they cant bill BCBS despite that fact that BCBS insures me they can. Everybody is confused and giving me varying info. They gave me this option...do labs at AHF and get the injection elsewhere (stupid idea). What would be the point in even coming to AHF? Labs can be done anywhere. Cindy who I guess is in charge helped by telling me to go somewhere that can bill my insurance. Its a BCBS PPO not TriCare or Kaiser. Id say the reviews before me are accurate. AHF anywhere is kind of pathetic tbh but at least the other offices actually had a solution in the end. DONT COME HERE.

I was a client for 4 years. I had 3 different Doctors during that time. I found out I had a new Doctor when I was hospitalized in July (make that 4 now).The benefits coordinator did not keep upto date on Ryan White assistance, as I am also employed and due to the error, I lost 6,000 of my income.I gave them multiple chances to get it together and treat me other than just a number to add to their benefits.I have finally switched to a private practice and in the first appointment I realized what medical services should be for someone living with HIV. My new Doctor has requested my records 3 seperate times which they have not responded to.

Update after my grievance and robot generated Google response. After 2 months of investigation. AHF ignored everything legitimate about my grievances and sided with the DNR. My Primary care Dr and AHF tried contacting the office directly to request my medical record and never got a response. They have only been asking for 1 year. The AHF operator who called herself said “ they don’t even have anyone answering the phone right now because she’s from another clinic in San Diego and I felt bad because she didn’t know how to do anything there “. It’s definitely time for me to take my care into the correct physician and clinic from now on. I don’t have to go out of my way to deal with their staffing problems. It was a good 20 years. But everything has its time. My best to the desk staff.Original grievance. The staff at the front office are amazing. That being said. The pandemic made it difficult to retain a proper licensed Doctor. MD. Unfortunately they now only have one DNR who’s just obtained her license and insists on being called a Doctor even though she only has a doctorate in NURSING. She’s completely tone deaf to your needs for labs, t-cell count let alone your well being. She immediately refused to refill my medication for seizures, I’m epileptic, well according to Ms. West. I’m self diagnosed epileptic. My neurologist was impressed that she had that power to diagnose. Had no bed side manners only her own judgment and personal agendas she made extremely clear to myself as a patient. I was so extremely uncomfortable with how I was being treated I ended my appointment, clearly told her she wasn’t the Doctor for me. I was being polite by addressing her by that title. Then she continued to warn me of how we are on the brink of a DR shortage like “none ever seen”. I have been lucky enough to have an incredible team of neurological Doctors work with me since I was 33 when I had my first tonic clonic seizure. I’m now 52 and with the help of minimal secondary base line AEDs., RX. With combined THC and CBD therapy, which Ms West flagged me for having in my urine sample. Which I clearly said I don’t give her the authority to run any lads on, have now been 4 years seizure free. Yet this person playing Dr with a 10 month degree online over the pandemic lockdown used to decide she was pulling me off said meds and referring me back to neurology after about 5 minutes of meeting me after 22 years as a patient. Not only did Ms West rob me of one regular place in my life to go to during the lockdown and pandemic. I honestly loved going into the City for the day. Only to get by blood drawn. Who ever says that!? I’m now 5 months later n she’s still in that clinic. I have talked to her AHF clinic and filed a grievance against her at her clinic in WA and SF. Ms. West May put on a good show for the staff during a pandemic. Unfortunately AHFs patients are the ones paying the price. Luckily I have my outstanding medical history well documented and my Drs jumped right in to continue and take over my health needs. I’m still on said medications for my seizures. Sorry Ms West. They don’t agree with your analysis. After 22 years of having AHF a part of my health care CHOICES. I’m ending my relationship now for good. Today my Drs agreed my needs as well as others aren’t being looked after properly. A nurse should NEVER decide on changing your medications while covering a clinic on the side nor refer a patient to any specialist. Only a Primary care physician should and legally could. AHF is still investigating this grievance. Now I see why Strut SF is such a strong clinic here in the Bay. I wish AHF well. Unfortunately I only wish Ms West to stop interfering and return to her own realm of reality. Not one physician even at her own clinic in WA said anything positive regarding her care. I wouldn’t send my dog there let alone myself after that. Pandemic or not. I honestly hope other patients are not being treated as I was.
