I was a little apprehensive about the Urolift procedure. However, after discussing this with Dr. Choi, he assured me I was a perfect candidate for this type of surgery and that he had performed thousands to date, I t had him perform the surgery. I didnt have any complications and the procedure only lasted 5 minutes. I havent had any urination problems since then and I highly recommend him for your Urolift surgery.

Dr Choi has got to be the best Urologist in Tucson and definitely 1of the best in the state for sure. His experience and numbers of Urolifts he has performed are second to none. Having had an unsuccessful Urolift I went to him for a second opinion. He later did a second Urolift and the results were beyond my expectations. Dr. Choi and Urolift are miracles!!! My urethra was 99% blocked — making it painful and difficult to urinate. The Urolift is done painlessly as an outpatient procedure in less than an hour. You can work and live a normal life!! UroLift is covered by most insurance. Dr. Choi is the expert — he’s completed almost 700 Urolifts. The Urolift is significantly more effective than traditional surgery and/or medication. I’d highly recommend that you see Dr. Choi to determine if Urololift will be effective for you.

We were recommended to Dr. Choi from our fertility doctor, whom we absolutely love. I expected to feel the same about Dr. Choi, but unfortunately it was quite the opposite experience. From our experience, he was incredibly brash and dismissive. We were sent there due to my husband having abnormal levels, and I told him we were very passionate about getting to the root of the problem, versus fixing it with a bandaid. In response he told us we could try to figure it out, but at the end of the day it could take years to fix and our best route would be to go straight to IVF in the meantime since I was getting older (I was 28). At our next appointment, after running minimal tests, he told us there was no obvious answer and there was nothing he could do for us. I continued to question what we could be missing and what we could do on our end to fix it. His response was to aggresively tell us to “go to another doctor, because clearly I don’t know what I’m doing.” The whole experience made me feel very unheard and dismissed. I left the appointment crying due to his harshness and bedside manner. To his credit he did apologize to my husband afterwards for being so aggressive. By the grace of God, we ended up trying a natural approach and naturally conceived our miracle baby boy three months later. I’m so grateful we didn’t listen to his advice and go straight to IVF. He also was very pushy about prescribing me Ozempic, which I found odd considering I’m female, not his patient, and he’s an urology doctor. Overall, the experience just pinpointed everything I hate about modern medicine and the pharmaceutical world. Here I am, a year and a half later, still very uncomfortable whenever I think about the experience. So much so that I thought it worth while to share my experience and maybe help others. I don’t think he ‘s a bad guy, I just think he lacks bedside manner, patient care, and embraces the bandaid mentality of modern medicine. Might be for some people, but definitely not for us.

Dr. Choi has been my Urologist for over 10 years and has been wonderful. He convinced me to have a biopsy when my PSA was slightly elevated. It ended up saving my life. My cancer was caught early and treatment saved my life.

From the very first visit with Dr Choi it felt as if he had been my doctor for a long time. The manner in which he talked to me and how well he explained the need for my procedure was very easy to understand and made me feel comfortable with the choice my PCP had referred him to me. I was a little nervous at first I didn’t have what I considered symptoms, but Dr. Choi convinced me that I needed it ! He was right ,it hurt for the first 2 days and then after that it was fine !thank you Dr. Choi!!!!

Ive had a great experience working with Dr. Choi and his team. I started seeing him to treat low testosterone. Within a few months I began felling better then I have in years. I sleep better, I have more energy and my mood has improved so much. The staff is also always incredibly nice. If you are experiencing symptoms from low testosterone I highly recommend seeing Dr. Choi.

Dr. Choi was great! Was very easy to get an appointment scheduled with their online portal, I was able be seen within the same week I scheduled the appointment. Once I arrived at the office, I was seen within 15 minutes. No waiting around like other doctors offices! He answered all my questions professionally and gave me plenty of time to go over all my health concerns. He seemed very nice and had a great bedside demeanor compared to some other doctors, I feel this is especially important for the urology field. Would definitely recommend him!

Had kidney and bladder stones. Was able to get appointment very quickly and after xrays from Radiology ltd., Dr Choi determined I needed lipotrypsy to blow up the stones in my kidney. This procedure was promptly scheduled and resulted in destruction of the stones. Very happy with the outcome and extremely happy I found Dr. Choi. He is very professional and knowledgeable. I had a great experience with Dr Choi. In my initial visit, I found him engaging and courteous. After determining that I was a candidate for the Urolift procedure, he recommended this procedure for me but also gave me appropriate prior warnings of discomfort and manageable pain during and after the procedure. He also did not over-sell the procedure but told me that the procedure would prevent further degradation of my bladder, improve urinary flow, but not necessarily eliminate all BPH symptoms. He was very insistent that I follow the instructions after the procedure. My outcome after the procedure was much better than I expected. I appreciate Dr Choi’s honesty and communication skills in explaining a topic that is difficult to understand. Additionally, his staff is courteous and efficient, appointments were easy to schedule, and I never waited more than a few minutes in the waiting room for my appointments.

Went to another doctor locally and wasnt impressed. Drove over an hour to meet Dr Choi and what a world of difference. Dr. Choi was recommended by my primary doctor for another procedure. After he he examined for what I originally went in for he also examined me for prostate exam. A few days went by and said I have good news and bad news. I ask for the good one First. That procedure was going to be simple enough. The bad news was I had Prostate Cancer, early stages though. Dr Choi performed a Uro-Lift. Went like clockwork, no hitches, in office. Nitrous oxide made me barely aware. 2 days of mild discomfort, then not so bad. Dr. Choi answered all my questions ahead of time and encouraged me to consult other doctors about alternative treatments. Hes done well over 600 of these. I highly recommend both he and his staff.

Ok, if you are considering a urolift, then Dr Choi is who you want to see. He has performed over 640 urolifts at this point, so you can be confident that he knows what he is doing. I thought I just had a minor problem. My symptoms still did not appear to be significant and should not warrant much concern at the moment. After all, everything was working fine, given my age. However the CT Scan showed an enlarged prostate and further tests showed bladder stress and a restricted urethra. Dr. Choi showed me the test results and pictures, then warned me of greater problems and consequences ahead if these warning signs were ignored. He suggested I think it over and even get a second opinion if I still had doubts or questions. After taking some time to think it over and pray about it, I decided to go ahead with the Urolift Implant surgery and to also take medication that would help reduce the size of the prostate. The idea of surgery still gave me pause.In-patient surgery and less than two weeks of home recovery went quickly and without much difficulty. At three weeks, there was hardly any noticeable problems, and began to allow a return to normalcy in activity and rest. Each day got better. At six weeks, a stronger urine flow, a respectful spacing of trips to the sandbox and a regular good nights sleep without interruption has been the reward. I continue to take the prescribed medication.I can honestly say it was a smart decision to have the Urolift Implant surgery, with the expectation of a more trouble free and long life ahead. This is a no brainer review for me. I had the Urolift procedure by Dr Choi one week ago and I am already feeling much better. The side effects are bad the first 5 days like any endoscopic procedure. I returned to work Monday and all the pain is gone. I’m getting up two times at night vs eight. My back is feeling better from the relief and less strain on the kidneys at night. I would specifically recommend Dr Choi for the Urolift procedure!

Nothing but great things to say about Dr. Choi and his staff. From the moment I walked in they were all about taking care of me and making me feel comfortable about my visit. I had forgotten to confirm my appointment through the website and typically this would mean the appointment auto cancels in the system, which it did. Because of the great staff up front, I was still able to get an appointment in the same day and only had to wait about 15 or 20 minutes. Their ability to convenience me by accommodating my needs was simply amazing.Talking with the doctor for the first time about a vasectomy was something I was not looking forward to but after just a few minutes talking to Dr. Choi I was put at ease and all the options were laid out in front of me without any pressure one way or the other.They even drew my blood To make sure my health was in order. I give Dr. Choi the highest rating. He is friendly and smart. He takes his time and explains things clearly yet stays on time. He also takes the time to address any of your concerns. The consultation never seems rushed. The office is well organized, and his assistants are both kind and efficient. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Choi. I had the Urolift procedure done recently and it changed my life. I was up sometimes (literally) 15 times a night to use the bathroom. It was miserable, couldnt get a decent nights sleep. After a consultation and thorough examination, he concluded I was a perfect candidate for the procedure. The first few days after the procedure are pretty uncomfortable. You might wonder if you did the right thing. Trust me, its totally 100% worth a few days of discomfort. My experience at Dr. Choi’s office was a generally unpleasant one. I’m not writing this review because I’m bitter – I’m not, I just want prospective patients to be more informed than I was. Dr. Choi’s office schedules appointments in 15 minute slots, so every appointment felt rushed and expensive for the amount of time I was there. I often felt like I had to fight to ask all of my questions before the end of the appointment. During these 15 minutes, I also felt like I was not kept in the loop of or explained to why we were doing any medications/procedures/etc. I often felt that I did not have a say in my own care plan.During my time seeing Dr. Choi I was also referred to an imaging specialist that he recommended for an MRI. Dr. Choi’s office tried to talk me out of switching to another imaging center without giving me any concrete reason why - the one he recommended was 10x more expensive than a comparable center. After getting the results back he proceeded to tell me once again how the images were not as good and the interpretation the center sent could be incorrect, but he hadn’t even looked at my images until I asked him to.The final thing that drove me to write this review was when I asked Dr. Choi about a medication I had read on the internet could help with my condition. He told me that it wouldn’t help and he wouldn’t recommend it, but that I could take it for the placebo effect if I really wanted to. Not 5 minutes later (remember, short appointments) he proceeded to give me a discount code for a pharmaceutical company for the exact medicine I had just asked him about – meaning he had not been listening to me earlier.

Dr. Choi performed the Urolift procedure in the first half of January. He told me I would hate him for 10 days. This is what I consider to be underselling and over-delivering. I had 4 bad days (only took heavy duty painkillers for the first day) and then steadily improved. I am now about a month and a half out and I am completely recovered. I may not be 18 again but I am completely satisfied with the results. The reason for the procedure is because I want to be able to travel to visit my grandchildren. I could not even imagine car trips without trepidation and my grandkids are on another continent. I hope to be seeing them this summer.Thank you, Dr. Choi!

I have seen Dr. Choi since moving to Arizona in 2016. Two things are important to me when selecting a medical practitioner. The first is their knowledge and experience and second is their personal relationship with staff and patients.Dr. Choi scored tops in both categories. Having a complex medical history I require doctors who are at the top of the list. Dr. Choi is one if the best medical practitioners I have had the pleasure of seeing. Very good experience. I was called withing a few minutes. Dr Choi had my urine analized before seeing me, which was 5 minutes. He and his staff were very polite and well organized. Everything was properly explained to me. All appointment and radiology orders were done immediately and handed to me. Dr Choi seems very knolegable and efficient and polite.

Why cant more doctors be like this? Hes a real person, nice guy and staff, more importantly he got the job done right. Doctor Choi and his team are absolutely amazing.. My girlfriend and I went to their office to inquire about a vasectomy reversal. This procedure and the odds of success had been a major concern of ours. We did what most people did at first which was google and as always it didnt help, in fact it made it worst.When we left the office we knew the facts, we felt like we had a doctor that was not only capable but was also someone that really cared. During the consultation Doctor Choi learned that I would be paying cash for the procedure and even tried sending me to a competitor so that I could get a better price. I had the Urolift procedure done in November 2021 at age 71. The procedure was fast and painless using “laughing gas” and one pain pill. The recovery process was somewhat difficult because I didn’t initially supplement the required water intake with electrolytes, which caused some problems with leg cramps and walking for a few days. In three weeks the prostate blockage was no longer a problem and I was urinating normally without medication. I highly recommend Dr Choi for this procedure. He is an extremely skilled surgeon.

I came to Dr. Choi at my primary physician’s recommendation after my previous urologist failed me completely. He took immediate action to stop a rise in PSA from leading to metastasis, and referred me to a radiation oncologist who was able to zap the cancer cells in my prostate bed. Great work, Dr. Choi.

For my first evaluation I had a great experience, staff was nice and Dr. Choi was informative. However, after I scheduled an upcoming procedure with him I unfortunately had to cancel a week and a half prior to the procedure for things out of my control. His staff was friendly about this but later on I received an Angry, Rude, and Unprofessional phone call from Dr. Choi stating “you waisting peoples time”, “you have to find a another urologist”, “maybe try again in the summer when you are really sure you want to do this because I am not going to play these games with you”. I tried apologizing, stating I didn’t realize the burden this caused and I ultimately didn’t want to cancel but there was nothing I could do about it. He states, “then why did you cancel!?”, this guy was not even informed why I canceled and still had the audacity to call me to rip me a new one, to tell me I have to find someone else because I’m waisting everyone’s times and it made me so uncomfortable and vulnerable after it took a lot of courage to even be seen in the first place. I’m not fond of going to the doctors and made me unbelievably uncomfortable receiving an very angry phone call from a guy that was suppose to take care of me during a SURGERY. His tone was very demeaning and unethical just for a cancel I couldn’t control. I lost all trust and faith in this man and will stick with his plan in seeing someone else per his wish. I have a friend who is a Doctor who I spoke to about this and he assured me there are way better urologist he can refer to me who won’t give me this type of low level care. Do not attempt to cancel or should I dare complain after a procedure because I am positive you will get a grunted angry phone call about why you are not worth his time.

My results after the procedure is great. May have to get up once during the night if that. No more urgency of having to relieve myself. Was not a fan of the procedure just afterwards but it was worth it. If I had to do it again I would just because of the results I have now.

I have to admit, like most doctors visits I was very nervous at first. But the kindness and professionalism of the staff relax me almost immediately. Because of the way the I was treated, I will most certainly be returning for my normal check ups.

A little background, first: Started having BPH issues oh, I guess ten years ago. Like a lot of other things, I procrastinated. Went to see my Urologist, Michael Samaha. Unfortunately, he was retiring, and since Id delayed so long, I was off the list. I continued to ignore my problem. Fast forward a year and some and one night-guess what??? No pee!!! So trip to the ER, foley catheter, etc etc. Saw a local urologist, NJ, he was an incompetent, strutting fool. Another doc, stable this time. Another Doc, oh, lets hack away at your guts. Sure. Went on a vacation, with only a med for armor, wound up in the ER again. Big pain. We moved. Another urologist. Big Attitude. Yuck. Meds were working, but effects, you know? Self cath, occasionally.Moved to Tucson, looked up Doc Choi. One of the best decisions of my life. He snorted at my tale of woe. Recommended Urolift. Long story, short, it worked. Seven of them staples in me. Big prostate, Im told.A week or two of unpleasantness, now back to normal. Although my stream aint great, due to damaged bladder solely attributable to my neglect, better than any time in the last ten years.On a personal note, Doc Choi is personable, but direct and no BS. Plus his staff is amazing. Big shout out to Bernice, who keeps the whole show running smoothly. Hi to Ellen, too.
