Dr. Sharla Ulstad, MD

Dr. Ulstad is an amazing doctor who strives to provide personalized care. She supported my birth wishes/plan throughout my pregnancy and delivered my son. She is kind, knowledgeable, and very experienced. You will be in great hands with this doctor and I’m so glad to have found an amazing OBGYN in Grand Rapids.

Dr Ulstad took great care of me in my pregnancy with my daughter. I was grateful she was willing to allow me an attempt to VBAC and I was so proud when I was able to do so successfully! I have continued my obgyn care in the office because of my satisfaction and care received.

Dr. Ulstad is professional, caring, and takes her time during our visits. She truly prioritizes her patients, and you can tell she’s really listening. Several times when I have been faced with treatment decisions, she has walked me through the options but then allowed me to make my own decision. Highly recommend.

Love Dr. Ulstad. She was amazing and caring. I felt like she cared and she listened to my concerns during both of my pregnancies. I’ve had rough pregnancies due to my vertigo and she worked alongside with my ENT doctor. Forever grateful for her.If we decide to have one more baby I’ll be going back to her for sure!

Dr. Ulstad is amazing! From each appointment to putting in appropriate labs/tests when I needed to labor and delivery; our experience was great from start to finish. She answered all of my questions with her vast knowledge. When it came time for labor and delivery, she made me feel safe and well cared for. We definitely will be going back to her in the future!

Dr. Ulstad is the absolute BEST! She is just the kindest, most gentle and caring doctor that Ive met. I am grateful to have found her and that she is my Doc. She is thorough and considerate of your feelings, regardless of your choices. She is informative and keeps you educated on all your options. I wish I had her as my doctor when I was pregnant with my children!

I’ve been seeing Dr. Ulstad for years. I don’t remember how many. She has done my annual checks and also taken care of things that required a procedure.She is an excellent listener and is very gentle and respectful. I would send anyone to her.The Grand Rapids Women’s Health Center is also a welcoming place with the entire floor opened up especially for their patients so there are no hallways to make your way through. Very nice.

Dr. Ulstad is exceptional! She is straightforward while also gentle and caring. I wouldn’t want another OB! She took amazing care of my family and I during a difficult first birth and we are so happy to have her again with our second child.

Dr. Ulstad is hands down the BEST doctor! She is kind, compassionate, knowledgeable! She truly cares about her patients and LISTENS to your concerns. She delivered 2 of my kiddos! It was an honor having her as my OB! If I could do it all over again I choose her a million times!

If I could give Dr. Ulstad more than 5 stars I would! She has been my doctor for almost 14 years and has been such a blessing to me and my family. She has delivered each of my babies and will be delivering my 7th baby this spring. She has also been my doctor through my 4 miscarriages. She is so wonderful and compassionate but also so incredibly intelligent and trustworthy. I trust her with my life and the lives of my babies and that says it all! I highly recommend her!

Dr. Ulstad is hands down the best OBGYN! She has delivered both my son vaginally and my twin girls via c-section. Both deliveries completely different yet both amazingly positive experiences. She is calm, informative, smart, efficient, an amazing breath-work coach, and makes 110% effort to be there for her patients (both physically and emotionally). She made me feel like I was her only patient. I felt safe in her care with each delivery. I never had any fear or doubt. She’s the best!!

She has been my Dr. for two babies now and she has been amazing. I would recommend her to anyone and trust her with my life!

Ulstad is the best OB, hands down. She listens, she cares, she forms a bond with you to make you feel comfortable. She helped me beyond belief and I will forever be grateful for what she did for me while struggling with HG during my pregnancy. Dr. Ulstad is very compassionate and empathetic. I chose this practice because it is physician owned and she had great reviews and meeting her in person did not disappoint! My needs are addressed promptly and test results are discussed as soon as possible.

Dr. Ulstad has been my OBGYN for 10 years. She delivered both of my children via cesarean. Both deliveries and recoveries went very well. I’ve been very satisfied with Dr. Ulstead’s expertise of woman’s health, professionalism, and bed side manor. Additionally, the Woman’s Health office is clean and easy to navigate. I’m her absence, Dr. Ulstad’s colleagues provided similar quality care. I have recommended the Woman’s Health Center and Dr. Ulstad specifically to several woman.

Dr Ulstad is so knowledgeable in the field, a great listener and advice giver. She takes the time to get to know you. She is kind, caring, and so personable. I havent been to an OB in over 10 yeats, and from the time I arrived, I felt unwelcome. Dr. Ulstad rushed through my appointment, gave me short and vague answers to my questions, and told me she goes to her PCP for her womens health appointments, basically saying that I didnt need a special OB/GYN for my needs. I had issues and left with no answers.

She was great! Not the OB I had throughout my pregnancy, but got lucky she was the doctor who came in to deliver my baby in 2021. It went so smooth, I would use her again in the future!

Dr. Ulstad has been wonderful with two of my pregnancy’s/births and two miscarriages. She has been so helpful and attentive to my concerns.

If you are looking for a caring, down to earth, professional, sympathetic, loving, open minded and passionate provider to not only take great care of you, but your unborn baby choose sharla! She delivered all 3 of my children and I couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful experience with them all. She was always listening and addressing my concerns, as well as communicating through every step of the way. If I ever have more children I will be going wherever she is!

I just switched to this doctors office to follow my doctor. I had a great experience the last time I visited. The lobby is large, but it is split up into two reception areas, each designated for specific physicians. All of the people I encountered from check-in through check-out were super friendly. It is nice to feel comfortable when you are at a doctors office and may not naturally feel comfortable in that environment.

Very nice facility, nice staff and excellent doctors. Dr. Ulstad is amazing! Very knowledgeable, personable, understanding and helpful. Highly recommend her!

Very competent and very caring. She not only takes care to make you as comfortable as possible on her examining table, she is interested in you as a person and is very compassionate toward those who are having difficulties. She looks at you as a whole person and takes time to read your whole chart — something most doctors, unfortunately, do not do. Highly recommended.

This happened years ago and I think of Dr. Sharla every now and then. As her patient, Dr Sharla assured me that if I had the surgery my life would get better .
