Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute

I find this office completely unorganized and challenging. I bring my 82 year old father here every 3 months. He’s supposed to have blood work, see Dr. Patel and receive a b-12 shot. This whole process usually takes a full hour and a half. My dad has Alzheimer’s and is agitated and exhausted by the time we leave. On our last visit, we sat waiting for his b-12 shot at the end of the appointment. After 25 minutes I got up to ask because I had other appointments to get to. At that point they told me it wasn’t on the schedule even though I had confirmed it was at check in. They also had it listed on “today’s expected services “ that they handed me at check in. I inevitably had to leave without him getting the shot and I’m really hoping they didn’t bill his insurance for it. I was halfway home when the front desk called to see if I was bringing him back later in the week for his shot. I work, have a family and take care of my dad. I don’t have time to deal with the frustrating disorganization of this office. We see Dr. Patel who is a kind and caring physician but this office is just a nightmare.

I love Dr. Leary she listens to me she discuss my treatment and expectations. My experience with this center has always been a pleasure. Front desk and other staffs are friendly and pleasant. I would recommend to anyone that needs professionals who are emphatic and care about you.

Dr. McKeen is the ABSOLUTE best doctor. I have been blessed to know her. Her knowledge and caring is beyond expectations. Her Physician Assistants are wonderful as well. They always take time and explain each finding and remedy. They narrow everything down in laymans terms. Sometimes wait times are long however I believe it is because they are in demand and take their time with each patient. Staff are all kind and gracious. Could not ask for better.

My visit is always pleasant when I come to FCS.The wait is never long, staff greets me with a smile, and a salutation upon leaving. The infusion room has some wonderful people working there, they always seem very caring and compassionate. My doctor always listens to my concerns and gives me advice based upon my needs and desires. Im always grateful for a pleasant visit especially with dealing with such a delicate situation.

Dr.McKeen is always very thorough and friendly.I feel her care is outstanding. She always explains testing and the newest research in breast cancer.Her staff is efficient and friendly as well.The office is run very well.There is usually a long wait, but I am never disappointed with the care so I do not mind.I never feel rushed by the doctor or NP, so I know they take whatever time is necessary with each patient.

I love the courteous attention of their staff. I know that I am in great hands and care by either Dr. Mckeen or her nurse practitioners. Dr. Mckeen is very knowledgeable and kind. She explains everything in detail and refers you to the very best surgeon.

I was seen for follow-up appointment on Aug 21, 2024 in the PBG office of Florida Cancer Specialist and had blood drawn by friendly phlebotomist, who was very pleasant and gentle with my old, tender, worn-out veins. She then took me, Im wheelchair bound, into the exam room, where Karen, APRN, promptly came to see me. Karen took her time with me, going over some of the lab results that were ready that day, and talking about my current health issues and status, as well as personal life issues I am going through. Karen is acquainted with me as a whole person, and not just a physical ailment, and makes me feel like I matter as a person. Sometimes medical providers dont take the time to do that today, especially with senior citizens, but I always feel like Im seen as a person, respected and cared about when I am a patient of Florida Cancer Specialist. Im glad I chose them as my Moms providers when she was alive and now as my own providers.

Dr Vattigunta is very thorough. She took the time to review my entire file while we had our first visit. She came highly recommended by several people. So far I am very happy with my experience.

Generally speaking, the doctors and nurses are exceptional.Dr Vattigunta, Karen and Q are a great team! However I cannot say the same thing about management. The phone system and ability to reach people is atrocious. There is too much turnover in staff. I have been a patient for 7 yrs and have said the same things since the beginning. This too will probably fall on deaf ears. Please don’t misunderstand my appreciation for the excellent care. But I feel sorry for new patients who come in with high expectations and don’t have the history with this place. I will never leave.

It was extremely difficult to even get someone to schedule an appointment for me. Staff is lacking efficiency, experience and basic empathy. Many times they didnt know who the person was that needed to schedule my appointment. I was transferred around, left on hold and disconnected countless times. The staff lacks any follow through. They made promises to call me back multiple times and failed to do so every time. When dealing with the recent cancer diagnosis this staff added much stress to my already stressful situation. Once finally seen, Dr. Leary is positive, upbeat and cheerful. I believe she is a skilled physician but with zero good experience with her staff I am unsure if I will continue my care here. This place is not what I think most people would expect from any medical provider and especially from a cancer center.

I wouldn’t go anywhere else. I have been with Dr Marilyn Raymond since 2012. She has a fantastic bedside manner and explains everything about the process and the disease. Any questions I had were explained in a way I could understand. Also when I was having after effects from my chemotherapy, she referred me to Dr Carissa Pearce who is also a wonderful and caring doctor.

As a practice administrator I know the importance of patient satisfaction in every aspect when it comes to their care needs. I have to say that this practice lacks a lot of customer service and compassion for those coming here. The PA I saw had no clue on how to explain my results left me with more questions than answers and the nerves of the rude check out to say my appointment wasn’t important enough to accommodate my schedule needs. Cancelled all my appointments and will look for a place where patient care is important no matter what you are there for. Go where they treat people how you’d like to be treated and this place ain’t it!

I was pleased with Dr. V. She is very knowledgeable and took her time with me . The ladies that do blood draws were great! However, I found that one of the front desk staff to be very curt with all patients. When I went to checkout, one of the employees exhibited rude behavior toward the patient before me that was very nice to her. When she checked me out she acted like it was a real inconvenience to do her job. Another employee seated next to her was very kind to her patients and spoke to me in a kindly manner as I was leaving. There are some very ill patients that deserve politeness at a minimum

Had an infusion and Ada was the best! She. Inserted needle precisely, causing no pain whatsoever. I love the policy of 2 different professionals verifying patient and solution. Atmosphere is pleasant . I am impressed that everything followed efficiently from beginning through checkout.

Dr Patel was very courteous, knowledgeable and through with my medical case. She conveys high confidence to me that my condition will receive the highest professional care. The staff are also courteous, professional and efficient.

Dr. Smukler is amazing. He is brilliant, compassionate, and responsive. He makes sure his patients get the best care possible. We are so so grateful that he is my husband’s doctor. His staff is also very kind and capable.

So disappointed with my experience here. I won’t go into personal details, but can confirm that no phone calls have ever been returned no matter how many times I called the office, and truly have not had the greatest experience. The doctor herself is amazing, smart, and completely knowledgeable. Staff appear to be nice and friendly. Had an appt scheduled with the Dr and ended up seeing the NP. She was nice but some review of my chart prior to entering the room would have avoided some sensitive topics being avoided in additional conversation throughout appt.

Dr. Carisa Pearce, a cancer rehabilitation specialist, was the one doctor with answers to my chronic pain post lumpectomy and radiation. She truly is one of a kind! Her business card should be in every surgeons office. Not only is she knowledgable, but also caring, flexible, and dedicated to long term solutions. Her care has changed my life. Ina, her nurse, is also wonderful. If you are looking for solutions, Dr. Pearce is a trustworthy advocate. I will always be grateful for her.

On the morning of my pet scan the staff was very courteous polite and helpful during my scan before and after the scan. Dont have anything bad to say against the Florida cancer specialists

The doctors and staff at Florida Cancer Specialist are top notch. I had prostate cancer that was diagnosed back in 2018. I had a radical robotic prostatectomy in 2019 but that did not get it all. I then went through radiation treatments and again, it was still not gone. It was not until I went to Florida Cancer Specialists where I was further diagnosed and treated by Dr. Patel that my prostate cancer was finally in remission. I cannot say enough about the positive experiences I have at every follow exam and visit. These specialists and their staff are the best.

I always have a wonderful experience from the front to the back. I always feel welcomed. I leave with my questions answered and I’ll always grateful that they’re there for me for all concerns. I would recommend them to family and friends always.

They are great!! I am a patient of Dr. McKeen’s at the PBG’s office. I’m very grateful for the expertise, connection with patients, energy, caring, and resources shared with patients by her and her staff! It’s always a pleasure seeing them!

I have been coming here for almost two years and the staff is very friendly and helpful. I have never had any problems with them. They handle my procedures well and professionally.

Thank you Katie! I loved the treatment today. I was very very sick when I arrived. I was barely on my feet, I was 22 hours vomiting. I should have been in the ER as you all stated to me. Thank you Katie if you had not jumped up out of your chair, run over to grab me, I dont know what would have happened. Katie immediately went into action took charge, began treatment on me, called out to two other nurses, one on each of my arms. She knew what I needed. Hydration, and a few other IV push meds her expertise, her kindness, sweetness, abundant energy, compassion and knowledge were exceptional. She continued to monitor me and be just as kind and sweet as she was from the moment she grabbed me. All of the staff shared in my treatment they worked together wonderfully, absolutely calm, and empathetic to me. Soothing and relieved Id say they went out of their way and they should be commended. Dr. Smucker saved my life last year and you saved my life today Katie! Also, I heard a bell ring today someone finished chemotherapy..yes. Thank you, Florida Cancer Specialist and ALL of your staff, from the front desk, to the blood work, to Dr. Smucker who never seems to never get tired of me, to all the well wishes that came by, everyone who checked on me, the staff in the treatment room were amazing. I cant say enough thank you so very very much. You all should be proud of yourselves for the work you do, the patience you have, your nurturing skills, your complete understanding of the importance of your work along with your positive attitudes.💕Happy to be home tonight,AnneMarie

Dr Patel was very thorough about explaining everything to me and my husband. I would recommend for anyone who has been diagnosed. I have a treatment plan!

Yesterday I waited over 2 hours between the waiting and examination rooms. I never saw the doctor. This is NOT the first time I have waited this long, but it was the first time I left without being seen. Later in the afternoon the provider called and asked me if she saw me earlier in the day. Really?!

Dr Byron has been my doctor since 2017. She provides me with excellent service. She shows compassion and understanding of my needs and quality of life. I trust her judgement and recommendations regarding my treatment. Dr Byron has reached out to me after hours and made contact with me as late as 630 pm. I would definitely recommend her to anyone needing a great oncologist. I would have given a5 star but it just seems like the ladies answering the phones are overwhelmed with calls. Sometimes I don’t get to speak with anyone and have to leave a message which doesn’t get returned till a later time sometimes a few days. This being said I don’t want to blame the ladies that are answering the calls I think they are just short staffed and should have more people working. Altogether Ian satisfied with my treatment and services.

I came to Dr McKeen in 2009 with stage 3B breast cancer. She reviewed my treatments up until then. Dr McKeen developed a new treatment plan . She saved my life. I come monthly now for injections to reduce risk of recurrence, labs, and check ups with Dr McKeen. She is my amazing doctor and caring friend.

Waited two hours to see the doctor, Dr. Patel came in once and said oh I’ll be right back and disappeared for at least 30 minutes. In the meantime, the lights were shut off and I was sitting in the dark. I finally decided to leave and did not get to see the doctor, as it was, I had to travel 45 minutes to the doctors office to begin with. If I had known it would take over two hours I would’ve left immediately and rescheduled.

I can’t say enough of the wonderful care I’ve received here. Dr Vattagunta is caring, concerned and knowledgeable. I trust her implicitly. Her team is excellent and treats everyone with dignity, caring and a ready smile. “Q” is exceptional and took over making an outside appointment for me when I was getting no response from a certain radiology department.

Check-in staff are well mannered and for in a timely manner. Everyone makes you feel comfortable and explain your concerns. I would not go to another place. Dr Leary is so knowledgeable and takes her time to answer any questions.

Dr Vittingnta was extremely knowledgeable , diagnosed and explained my circumstances to me. Finding another problem, and started a treatment plan. Dr Vittingnta and her NP were compassionate, took an extended and thorough evaluation I was blessed to find them for my care.

Dr Patel is wonderful to work with. Stays on top of test results and how I’m feeling. Very caring nurses, I look forward to seeing them all on my Chemo Mondays.Thank you all for the awesome attitudes and all you do to make an unpleasant situation pleasant.

I saw Dr. Leary and she made me feel helpless. I got a sense of my problem being a waste of her time. I informed her I had been put on medication multiple times for the problem I came in for and it did not help at all. Of course she put me on the same medication again. Surprise surprise when I came back for my follow up, we were back at square one . Not only was I already annoyed that the medication did nothing but she didn’t even bother to come in the room to talk to me, instead sent in an assistant. I normally have no issue with speaking to an assistance but seeing that the treatment plan she originally gave didn’t work, you would think she would try to sympathize or try something else. I was in a lot of pain and she basically sent me on my way with a referral to someone who doesn’t even work in the area that I had the issue. The 2 stars is literally just for the staff that was very kind .

Dr Vantagunta has been treating me for triple negative breast cancer for over 5 years and is very knowledgeable and good at what she does!

Dr. MeKeen is exceptional, brilliant, and dedicated. I was an unusual case, and I believe that she had the expertise, the knowledge, and the connections to find the correct course of treatment for me. Dr. McKeen is amazing. From day one she has been a source of dependable guidance with my care and concerns. She came highly recommended and I appreciate her so much.

I love my oncologist Dr. McKeen who is not only a caring physician but also a deeply knowledgable researcher. It is not enough to know that your doctor will take care of you, but I need to know how and why and what for. Dr. McKeen is always way ahead of me and tells me before I need to ask. She and her staff are warm and caring. They are marvelous.

Your company needs to join the 21st-century. And allow uploading of new insurance cards. I was not able to get my infusion last week and I am still waiting to have it done. I am still waiting for someone to call me to reschedule. Your phone system is horrible here in West Palm Beach. It was terrific and orange park near Jacksonville when I live there. No, never answers the phone. It takes at least an hour to get through. And then I can’t talk to the scheduling person.

I get to work w Dr Smukler. I actually look forward to my appointments because of him. He always acts like he has all the time in the world. Rare!!!

No one likes to go to the doctor but our visit at FCS was very pleasant. All of the staff are very caring and professional while being friendly.

I feel lucky to have been a patient here for 8 years! Staff are amazing and professional.

We must put an end to capatated docters in the state of Florida. So that no other patients continue to loose there lives. Captation the insurance companys keeping the costs down at the expense of a patients prescious life. Once there life is gone it is no more. Please help me put an end to capatated docters in the state of Florida. Every patient deserves to have a fighting chance right from the beginning with there medical situations for them to live another day of there prescious life. This right should never be taken away from any patient. Not now not ever in the United States of America.

I have been under the care of Dr E McKeen for 12 years as breast cancer is in my family. My breast cancer was diagnosed in 2020 during Covid and I was incredibly well cared for. I have recommended Dr McKeen and her team to others who too have received excellent care. I cannot recommend this team more highly.

Dr Elizabeth McKeen is amazing and one of the most caring people I’ve met! My husband was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Dr.McKeen got us to a perfect oncologist and he is brilliant and caring as well - Dr Judah Freedman. He is also brilliant and will guide us through this challenge. It is wonderful to have such great care. The Florida cancer specialist group is terrific..

My gratitude goes out to one of the best Oncologist Doctors at the center. His name is Neal Rothschild. He was my attending physician when I had non Hoskins Lymphoma from 1994 until 1998.I thank him for his research on stem cells transplant which was critical to my recovery.I wish he and his family good health and love!Geraldine Cyrus. 26 years in remission.

I have been going for 18 years. I just love Dr McKeen. She is wonderful. She knows me. She talk to me in depth about what I’m doing about how I feel about what I’m taking She really cares.

Dr Patel is very caring, thorough and a great doctor. Overall the front office needs help getting organized to improve patient wait times and there seems to be a disconnect from orders placed and getting appointments scheduled in a timely manner. If they were better organized they wouldn’t be as stressed and hopefully would be friendlier in general. I think they are dealing with high volume of patients so may need more nurses and staff.

Went there for my cancer treatments Dr Elisabeth Byron and her staff took great care of me held my hand through it all They saved my life and keep me healthy. I would highly recommend them for your care and well being. Thank you for being my Dr God bless you and all you do day in and day out

Dr Patel is lovely but the the staff and office are a complete nightmare. Same as some of the other reviews I have seen hereI tried to get my appointment moved for a week after their pharmacy messed up and it took me 3 weeks to get my medication. No callbacks and you cant speak to their offices directly and on average i waited 10 minutes just to talk to someone with some calls lasting as long as 30 min.After I eventually got it moved they call me a week later and ask if I can move it a few days out. I said I have no problem with that. Then they call me to confirm my old appointment with no record of having it moved out by THEM.I wish these people can understand better what their patents go through, they are supposed to make it easier not harder.I see they respond to the google reviews with these generic message to report your concerns on their website. Who knows if something ever comes of it.I wish they can spend 1 day at MSK in NYC and see what patient care really means.

I am extremely pleased with the professional and KIND treatment that I received today at Florida Cancer Specialists. My visit with Dr. Beth Byron was thorough and I was very impressed with her clinical and diagnostic skills. She is very detail-oriented and will continue to follow-up on many health issues for me. I feel that she truly cares me and about the resolution of my issues. Her staff was exceptional and I never felt rushed or ignored. A wonderful ‘breath of fresh air’ in our society of little care and compassion. I was happy with everything today. Thank you

Elisabeth McKeen is the absolute best! Along with nurse practitioner, Deidre Brown, I’m very grateful that they have taken care of me.

Dr. McKeen is thorough, listens to my concerns, will talk to radiology while reading scans, and thinks way outside the box. She knows the latest research and data, and I always leave her office feeling confident and thankful.The office staff are kind and friendly, and I love Deidre and Newah, the two nurse practitioners I see. Bloodwork is done on-site, and results are loaded into the portal on the same day.You may have to wait awhile, but thats because they spend so much time with their patients.

I would like to wish Dr Judah Friedman a very special National Doctors Day. He is a wonderful, caring and thoughtful person. I’m blessed to have him as my doctor .

I like Dr Byron & her PA is nice too but I was there yesterday for almost 3 hours. I tried calling them 3 times before I got there to confirm the location and no one ever picked up the phone. At one point I was on hold for 15 min, then a recording came on & said leave a message & they would contact me within 24 hours.THIS is a cancer center... isnt time everything?

Absolutely the worst customer service. If you have an appointment plan on being here three hours just to get blood drawn This is the slowest office Imaginable.

Dr. Friedman is a caring attentive physician who listens and answers your questions and concerns. Staff was great. I was a bit nervous, but I am glad I went here!

Experience has not been very good. My doctor, Dr Patel is great. The rest of the staff leave a lot to be desired. The computer system broke down and no one contacted me for a new appointment. Called several times and my call has not been returned.

The best of medical care! I love my appointments with Dr McKeen’s office. They always spend plenty of time with me, asking questions and explaining more complex issues.

While this office has amazing doctors, good ood luck trying to get their staff to help you. I tried for three week to get a response, leaving multiple messages my doctors called and faxed that it was urgent that I get in and zero call back. Asking to speak to the manager gets you nowhere as well. Maybe because I am in my 30s and I sound young the staff doesnt care that without help I could end on my deathbed like I have before. I hope this staff doesnt cause these doctors to get sued as they that bad.I hope if you go to this office that for your sake you never have an emergency as who knows if your doctor will be told.

I too was sadden when Dr Katz moved away. Dr Patel has stepped into her shoes wonderfully. She is very easy to talk to and caring. Very happy with the office staff.

A couple of years ago I was diagnosed with systemic melanoma and although it was not treated by FLORIDA CANCER SPECIALISTS, my follow up care in a different location has been with them. This has been a good experience with a caring physician who listens and who provides, not just to treat the disease, but to treat holistically as well. Dr. Patel has proven to be a very good choice. I am delighted to see her, consult with her and everyone in that office in Palm Beach Gardens is so pleasant I would recommend them at this location.

I have spent three days trying to get a new patient appointment for my wife who has cancer. I have talked with three different people. They all said they would get back with me - call me back. No one has called me back. This is not acceptable.

I was shocked. I didn’t have a long wait. Heard so many people complaining. I go only for blood work. Thank GOD I don’t have cancer. I do miss Dr.Rothschild. But the new Dr.for me is excellent.i don’t want to miss spell her name but it starts with a V. Very nice and well educated.

I feel so blessed to have found Dr. Patel! I was heartsick to learn that my incredible oncologist for 6 years, Dr. Andrea Katz, had moved away and frightened that I would never be able to find a doctor who was as brilliant, thorough, personable, engaged and viewed me body, mind and spirit. Doctors are great. The folks at the front desk to greet you are awesome. The only issue, which everyone I speak to states the same issue. You will not get a return call if you leave a message and the check out staff are not friendly or helpful. Its like your bothering them.

First time visiting. Everyone was welcoming and helpful in making me feel more comfortable.

This is the most dysfunctional place I have ever been to they over book and short of staff and cannot get the information correctly in system and says it is the computer a person puts the information in the computer it does not do it self and you have a 1015 appointment and will seat there 3 hours or longer and this is ridiculous to make cancer patients like that

Dr. Byron is professional yet kind. She was never rushed and I always felt she was very aware of my situation. They same for her PA.

My wife has been seeing Dr. McKeen for 15 years. My has been in remission for 10 years and doing great. I cant thank the staff enough for saving her life.

A new experience and overwhelming upon walking into the waiting area and seeing many people waiting for service and care, there was a long wait based on the appointment time. The staff are very kind and supportive once you are called in for service.The location is great and the building houses a Quest Diagnostic and CVS store on the first floor.

The office staff is a nightmare. It took me 2 months to get a cancer diagnosis because the office kept dropping the ball. It took them 3 weeks to call me back with initial bloodwork and another 3 weeks to send referral paperwork for a biopsy. They made a difficult time even harder.

Heather was my nurse during my iron infusion and she was just awesome! So kind and caring. Even called the next day to check up on me. :)

I don’t want to give a lower grade than this because I’m happy with my physician Dr Smuckler he’s great but the wait time for drawing blood with an appointment was disrespectful. I was not a walk-in. I had an appointment and waited an hour. I arranged my day around that time slot. I feel bad, because there are a lot of patients there who spend hours with chemo and I should not complain, but it’s really a matter of organization and management. I hope that my comment will be helpful feedback..

I have reached 10 years since my diagnosis and beginning my treatment. Dr McKeen and her staff have shepherded me through the entire journey with skill, graciousness, encouragement and support beyond my best expectations and imagination. I never felt dread or helplessness with them by my side. They are gifts from God and true blessings to me.

Dr. Smuckler has the greatest bedside manner and was extremely friendly and got right down to Business so I could go about my day. The team of nurses and check-in were also very nice.

The office staff and the medical staff are great. The big problem is that the office is either over booking for the day or they simply get behind and never catch up. The reason I say this is that I waited well over two hours to see a physician and obviously that’s going to get a Patient irritated.

I have been a patient of Dr. McKeens for over 24 years. She is an AMAZING Oncologist! I have had breast cancer twice and she is always there for me providing excellent advice and the best treatment available. Dr. McKeen is such a wonderful, intelligent, caring physician. I just love her and have recommended her to several of my financial clients.

The wait time is sometimes very long. Dr. Byron listens to my concerns and keeps me up to date on testing.

Florida Cancer Specialists, especially Dr. Friedman saved my life! I had stage 3 of a very rare cancer with very unfavorable odds. I am now cancer free. Other doctors were ready to call in hospice, but Dr. Friedman knew I had a shot! The entire office is so kind, and they always know me by name and remember so many small details, its nice to have such kind people when you are going through something so difficult! I would recommend them to anyone who asked!

I first became a patient of Dr. Elisabeth McKeen twelve years ago when I had early stage invasive breast cancer. Dr. McKeen got a second & third opinion to corroborate her plan that I didn’t need chemo, just surgery & radiation. 2020 I was introduce to doctor Vattigunta and doctor Karen ,bc of them I am here today ,my experience was far beyond than I expected,I would highly recommend my Doctors for chemo therapy .

I LOVE my Oncologist Dr. Rina Patel and the staff are ANGELS. My previous cancer tx center, well they helped me and i am GRATEFUL - but i only EVER saw an ARNP for ALL of my visits and literally would have for the initial visit as well, i had to DEMAND to see the oncologist fot initial consult!!!! In hind sight i realize they had a PROTOCOL (have stage 4 melanoma), but unbelievable that i never saw a doctor. PLEASE DONT EVER do this FL CANCER SPECIALISTS . Keep doing things as you are and remain dedicated to your name sake. I am forever GRATEFUL but i needed to say this. I dont feel i am wrong in doing so as there are patients who maybe arent as fortunate to speak for themselves so i am speaking for them too. God Bless each one of you, them & continued blessings for myself so I can be of service to others as i am a Licensed Practical Nurse of 43 years and with my Faith in God and Florida Cancer Specialists I will find a way to serve others on this journey💕

My doctor Smukler is greatHe fixed my problem and was very explanatory. Ill continue to see him for observation. No problems with the staff and PAs. Highly recommended

Great doctors and wonderful care. Always run a little late but I assume they are spending time needed with patients.

Very comprehensive and attentive. Outstanding staff, very nice. Dr. Smukler is the BEST!!!! I was at a previous center that pales in comparison to the treatment and compassion of the FCS staff.

If I could give less than one star I would. My husband was dx in 2021 with stage three follicular lymphoma. Immediately started treatment and had a successful round of bendamustine and rituximab with this practice. The treatment plan requires an additional 2 years of maintinence immunotherapy. There have been multiple occasions where appointments were cancelled with no notice. They do not return calls. My husband was supposed to go for an infusion on may 30th and we received a call on May 26th that the appointment needed to be rescheduled because we changed insurance and the auth requirements changed. She rescheduled the appointment to the 6th and said I would receive a call from the pharmacy prior to the appointment. We have left multiple calls since the 26th requesting and update and not gotten any response. My husband received a call today (6/5) and was told that they were not able to continue treatment because the insurance denied it- stating it is a pre-existing condition. Now- I’m not stupid. I work with insurance for a living. This plan that we have is a qualified health plan, and there are no pre-existing conditions. Additionally, there was no lapse in coverage from my first job to this one. I contacted the insurance and confirmed it is covered, and that there is no prior auth request on file. We checked with the specialty pharmacy as well. For a practice to say they are number 1 in patient care and their goal is to have the patients treated in a stress free environment…they do NOT live up to their word. Now- my husband is wanting to discontinue treatment because he cannot handle the stress of this anymore. And- I can’t even get them to answer me back to schedule the port removal. It has been over 8 weeks at his last treatment. We obtained second opinions and decided to stay with Florida cancer because we believed they truly wanted to help heal my husband. I wish we had changed practices a year ago when we wanted to. If you’re considering, sending a loved one to treatment here, I suggest you look at other options. There is no way to get to a human to speak to you unless you call the case management department, and they can’t transfer you to somebody at the actual office. The other option is to pretend that you’re a new patient and then you’ll reach a scheduler who can do nothing but schedule appointments. Extraordinarily poor patient care.

Worst! Over crowded and two many moving parts to get good service here. Took about 42 phone calls to get an MRI scheduled through their recommended partner and once the MRI results were back, Ive literally called 8x, left message after message to go over my results and not one phone call back. Level of care is a zero, office staff is meh, no one seems to know anything although this is what they do for a living, wouldnt recommend and am looking for a new oncologist. SAVE YOUR TIME AND ENERGY! LOOK ELSEWHERE

Lab testing they provided... they no longer provide. Discussing possibilities of what could go wrong or what you could experience is never allowed. So many short nonsense answers. Impossible to get in contact with anyone. Hard to get refills. My chemo nurse was 5 stars amazing. Difficult to get things explained. I was shocked to see all the 1 star ratings out here. Billing is a mess - I pay the balance one week and come back next to find a new balance supposedly from months prior. Most of the time I feel like this is just a chemotherapy puppy mill. Post treatment you wont hear from anyone regardless if you call or post on the portal. Everything in life gets to be very difficult when you have cancer... seems like these people would understand that and pay better attention. Frustrated, Annoyed, sick and tired of dealing with this place and all of their organizational issues when my health is on the line. Im so very sad to have to leave this review; but it was earned.

Updated: they did reach out to me to apologize and he finally got his prescription four business days later. But I also tried to call today at 4:50, a full ten minutes before their CALL CENTER closes, and got the answering service telling me to call back tomorrow. SO! You be the judge….🤔My husband has been seeing Dr Smukler since June 2021 for stage four pancreatic cancer. We like the doctor and have no issue with the care he’s received. I made a one star review because of the way the practice is managed, particularly when trying to call. First off, takes forever to even speak to anyone. And when you do, it’s just a call center representative. You can’t even actually call the location you see the doctor at. It’s just a big call center. You can never get any kind of answer or solution for a problem on your first call. It’s always leave a message and they “will call you back”. I’ve been waiting on a prescription refill since last week and have called four times and still do not have the critical refill that we need. The most recent phone call this morning, the receptionist said “the office is too busy right now so I can’t find out what going on with your prescription, call back later” this is not acceptable when it comes to cancer treatment. My husband is almost out of his medication. Had I known then what I knew now, when we were assigned Dr Smukler, I would have looked elsewhere for care. Also, if you need medical records or anything sent to another doctor, plan on it taking 4-6 weeks and a dozen calls to actually get it complete

I wish I had read the reviews prior to my visit. I went to do some blood work and ended up with my insurance being billed THOUSANDS OF $$$. This was (only for blood work).Just like others mentioned, the same thing happened to me. I requested my results and they were not provided.On the followup visit, I was told that I needed more blood to be drawn, but no results were given to me then either.I had to call and email MANY!! times to get this issue escalated, which was the only way I was able to have this issue resolved. Do not give up, and continue to insist, you need to take your health matters in your own hands.**RECOMMENDATION**If you still decide to receive care in this place, please be sure to request your estimated cost up front. Otherwise, you may find yourself with thousands of dollars of unnecessary debt. And no, once that is billed, you cant take it up with the insurance company, as they will tell you that they simply go for what the provider charges.Im speaking from experience. Even if you have insurance, request your estimated cost. For example, my bill was about $7,000 which the insurance covered a portion, and what was left for me to pay was about $1400. This is still quite excessive, which is why I had to fight the entire bill in general as it was unlawful to bill such an amount without you receiving at least an idea prior.So do yourself a favor and ask, if you get a no, insist.

I quit using Dr McKeen here because every time I had an appointment, they took blood. I was NEVER given the results. Finally, I told them no more blood. It was just another way to make money! The last appointment I had with her, she forgot about me and left her office. I had waited over 2 hours!My husband still sees Dr Rothschild. He isn’t the brightest person and has horrible bedside manners. The same RUDE nurses take care of him. I despise this office!!!!!!!!

One hour to wait for blood work in a crowded waiting room. Lots of chatter in different languages. Stressful. Then we’re waiting at least another hour for a room to see the Dr. then waiting again - stressful

My CEA bloodwork was never done. It was on the script but never tested. My levels are always high above average and I’m extremely disappointed with this issue falling through the cracks. Actually had a PET scan six months ago due to a high CEA.

I had the best cancer treatment at Dana Farber Cancer Institute. I have experience in healtcare and know how the healthcare system functions.Since moving to Palm Beach Gardens, I have been seeing Dr.Byron for my 4 month follow up appointments after I went into remission. I have read the reviews of how they order bloodwork and scans in their facility and not notify patients of what their copays will be after insurance coverage.Ask for the procedure and code prior to your visit and check with your insurance.I am in a major dilema with Florida Cancer Specialists. I had a PETSCAN done December 3rd in their facility. The order was given by DR. BYRON, whom I spoke with personally notifying her that my orthopedist will need to have clearance for a total knee replacement surgery on December 14th. I have called and left many messages to get the results of the PETSCAN, as well as the day of surgery. It has been 2 days past my surgery, once again I called leaving a message asking what is the problem in finding out my PETSCAN results. I want to know if it’s Dr. Byron ignoring my request or is it the staff.I am looking for another Cancer Institute.I wrote those review in the morning. I finally received a phone call from Dr. Byron at 4:50pm. Dr. Byron said her PA spoke with me about my test PETSCAN results and gave me clearance required for the surgery. Dr. Byron is not commendable in communicating or following up with her PA or me her patient. I assured her I never received a call from her office, PA or anyone. However, her office received many calls from me, especially the day I am in the surgery room waiting to be operated on. The stress and undue burden of not knowing if I was cleared of cancer has taken its toll on me and no cancer patient should go through what I’ve gone through. Dr.Byron, your apology will never ease the emotional and stressful pain you’ve caused me. It took one phone call to make it right in 10 days.

Every time I come for my 6th month check-up with Dr. Byron, I wait in the waiting area for over an hour before being seen. Here I am again, waiting…it’s been an hour so far not to mention the place is packed probably because of overbooking. I think it’s time to find a new doctor.
